Coming off a 10-year hiatus (i5-3570k / GTX 1060) and finally looking for a new build for gaming. Generally older titles in my backlog but do play the occasional AAA title. Mostly looking for any glaring errors that will bite me later; I realize some parts may be a bit overpriced. Generally not one for frequent upgrades so I try to build in some future flexibility. Would appreciate avoiding RGB like the plague.
Least confident on specific GPU but I do feel good about aiming for 4070 Ti because I am very tired of stuttering / low frames / playing thing at potato graphics.

There was a great post today about the benefits of extended breastfeeding..I'm still nursing my 11 month old. Over the past few months I tried to stop pumping and add some formula. My goal was to nurse morning and night. I was missing just 2x day morning and night for a while. Eventually my supply kinda dried up. Baby started biting me when nursing because of low supply. Went on a work trip and had the opportunity to see how much I was making because I had to pump again. Was only pumping 1 oz in the morning and 1 oz at night.
Did a week of power pumping and got my supply better but now I'm back to pumping at work 😕
My question is: For those of you that nurse older babies and toddlers what does it actually look like ? Do you pump? Is there any effort you need to do into maintaining supply? Can you just nurse once or twice a day and that's all you need to do to maintain supply?

We have been together 11 years. I feel like we don’t disagree very often and we have the same morals and beliefs on import things like religion, politics, finances, parenting. We do have stupid little arguments maybe once or twice a month that usually resolve within and hour or the day at most. Usually about him not offering to help until I ask him or him not communicating well and getting annoyed when I ask simple questions. He will often assume I’m mad when I’m really not but he doesn’t believe me. Anyways last month we got in an argument because he took our older kids to a play date and I stayed home with the little kids. He said that he would be bringing the kids home for lunch at noon. When he was an hour late I texted asking when he would be home and he said that he wasn’t sure and they already ate. This annoyed me because the toddlers were waiting to eat for over an hour past lunch time and I don’t see why he didn’t just text and say he wouldn’t be home until later. When he got home at 5 I told him that this was an example of him not communicating and I would appreciate if he would let me know if he’s not going to be home when he originally plans. He got pissed and made it this whole big thing that I think he’s the biggest piece of shit in the world and he can’t do anything right and he shouldn’t have to update me because I know he’ll be home eventually and I know where he is so it shouldn’t matter. I kept calmly reaping that it makes more sense for me to plan meals and stuff if I actually know when to expect him and that it’s not that difficult to send a text saying you’ll be out longer. He went on about how I have no right to be upset and I’m ridiculous and we basically agreed to disagree. Well he apparently told a friend about this argument and said that I’m always mad at him, we are always fighting, it basically seems like I hate him and that “No marriage should ever be this way”. So now idk if I should bring this up and risk restarting the stupid argument or I should just forget it and assume he was just venting and being dramatic? If he really feels that way idk what I’m supposed to do to fix it??

I graduated from this group in October, and am so, so happy about the day (and every day after!). I felt lucky that we got to have a wedding that felt so aligned to us. Our priorities were having a joyful day that centered our community (almost all of whom traveled to attend), gave us space to experience the day, and minimized waste without being draconian about it.
Overall spend for fifty guests in NYC was somewhere between $35k - $40k, including splurges on a few things like my dress & accessories. I loved all of my vendors, so if you're planning in Brooklyn/NYC and want a specific rec or even a template/file/specific thing, I would be delighted to share more. The structure of the day was:

• Ceremony in Prospect Park's Concert Grove Pavilion
• Guest "adventure hour" / photos
• Reception at Olmsted, a restaurant in Prospect Heights
• Walk with guests to a bar in the neighborhood for dance-y reception

So many of our favorite ideas were from or inspired by posts or comments from this group! I wanted to give back and highlight a list of less traditional ideas that helped us feel like our day was really ours and any tips for making them work as inspo for your day.

1. Pausing and stopping during the ceremony - Writing an explicit moment in the ceremony to look around and take in the moment
2. Ceremony in the round and guests not rising during bride's processional - I dislike hierarchy and being on stage, and it felt so nice to be surrounded by rather than in front of people. We rented benches rather than chairs to make set-up easier, with the benches making a diamond. Our planner also positioned our families facing their "person" (my mom & dad looking at my face, for example), which was a clever detail.
3. Vow book - Tip from this group that vow books seem extra but are worth it, and I totally agree! It was nice to hold something lovely rather than my phone or a scrap of paper. We are also hoping to revisit them annually and keep adding to the book. Mine are from Etsy.
4. Wearing glasses during the ceremony - I (the bride) never wear contacts, so I knew I had to wear glasses during the wedding day. I never see brides do this, so wanted to normalize! I worked with my make-up artist to find falsies that worked well.
5. Ring warming ceremony - Passed the ring in a small wooden bowl made by my partner's grandfather. Really loved this participatory aspect and worked well with the ceremony in the round. Instructions were given verbally by our officiant and described in the program. Went smoothly!
6. Watercolorist of ceremony and guests - See photo in album! Katie (https://www.ramblingsketcher.com/) is amazing, and I am obsessed with what she painted every day. We framed the original and used prints as thank you cards.
7. Petal throw - Ordered dried flowers from Etsy, made cones from butcher paper, lined guests up after the ceremony and did a petal throw walking down the stairs. Joyful, participatory, and great photo opp
8. Zine wedding invitation - We made a hand-bound zine as a wedding invitation, which allowed us to tell our story to guests, include a poem, a crossword puzzle, print details about the day and what to expect, and more
9. Board game guest book - I read this in a comment in this sub for sure, and thought it was brilliant! We love games, and I kept disliking most guest book concepts for us. We used the game Photosynthesis.
10. Snoopy toss (replacement for bouquet toss) - Throwing a thing is so fun, and I loved the idea of making a guest's day by having them catch something. I was inspired by this sub mentioning throwing a stuffed animal, with the lore of whoever catching it being the next person to get a new pet. My partner loves Snoopy, so we tied extra fabric from my wedding dress hem to make a bow and just said he was a lucky wedding souvenir.
11. Photos of parental figures without the bride/groom - Great tip from the sub! Nice for them to have a photo all dressed up
12. Kissing bell - Almost didn't do this, because I didn't think people would ring it! But we found the perfect autumn-colored bell in a thrift store, and figured why not. Boy, was I wrong. People got a huge kick out of ringing it, and our photographer was able to get more smooching photos. And now we have on the bookshelf as a memento!

My husband and I have been having sex for over 7 years, but he has never came inside. I am on the patch and I am ready for him to come inside because we have been married a year now and are at the age of “if we get pregnant we’re ok”. But, my real question is, has anyone let their partner come inside plenty of times and hasn’t gotten pregnant? I’m just paranoid. We want to just be able to “do it” for the fun of it at this point then try to have kids in a year or so. Thanks!

My girlfriend and I are pretending we're not scared, but in reality we are. Quick backstory - girlfriend was late for her period, took a pregnancy test, was positive. No biggie we figured she's 5 weeks and we have time to make a decision and come up with a plan. False she's just shy of 11 weeks and as of today she's 11 weeks on the dot.
We called PPH and they said we're barely at the deadline but they can facilitate the pill and give us the second dose to go back home.
Next thing you know we're on the first flight to Colorado and have an appointment tomorrow morning.
Now here's the problem - Day after we realized this, she got hit pretty hard by another car. She's alright but she couldn't remember if she got her ID back since she was in a state of shock. We discovered this at security at the airport. We made it to Colorado but is this going to be a problem at the clinic tomorrow? We're running out of time, or feel like we are and we're freaking out in addition we literally disappeared on this trip for nothing.
She has bank cards, insurance, etc with her full name on it and a copy of her ID on her phone.
We're already worried we were given false hope at 11 weeks, and we'll be turned away, but this ID thing is just the icing on the cake and I just want to be prepared to make sure I can be there for her.
Tl;dr - discovered 11 weeks pregnant and got t-boned in a span of 24 hours. Appointment tomorrow. ID is lost and likely with the old lady who hit her. Did all of our efforts go to waste :(

Let me give some background on this, so I got pregnant with my daughter 2 years ago and I was married to my ex husband at the time. I did cheat on him but it was a one time deal. Obviously I didn’t think anyone else was the Father so when my daughter was born my ex husband’s last name was put on the birth certificate. When ended up getting divorced and he found out she wasn’t his child, so obviously he wanted his last name removed. I had lost my attorney and we had finalized the divorce with his attorney agreeing on things. She put in the petition for my daughter’s last name to be put as my maiden last name. The biological Father became aware that she was his but didn’t care much for doing a paternity test. Therefore the parent’s name on the birth certificate is my name. I cannot recall if the last name was ever changed so how would I go about getting her last name put as my maiden last name? I am now remarried to my husband but he wants to wait to adopt her. Would I have to petition this with the court? Get a paternity test from the sperm donor? Mind you sperm donor hasn’t since asked or spoken to me in two years.

TL;DR going on a trip where I can only take 1 passenger with me. Decided to take a friend who can drive. Other friend is pissed at me.
I recently bought a second hand car. It's a Suzuki Jimny and it's my first ever. It's a small car, and realistically, with all the diving gear + bags I plan to bring, only me and a front seat passenger can fit.
Anyways, I wanted to take the car to Batangas. I told our friend gc of around 10 people about my plans and explained I could only fit 1 passenger but would really like other people on the trip as well.
Fifi (26F) and Frenny (24F) both said they want to be my passenger at the same time. However, I preferred Fifi since she can drive and can be my reliever in case I'm tired or anything happens. I've been on long road trips with Frenny and other people wherein I was the only driver and I really didn't like the experience.
Anyways, nagalit si Frenny sakin. She said that since we're more close and we've been on roadtrips before, I should've picked her. She said Fifi has her own car naman and can drive. I was honest with her and told her that I don't enjoy being the only driver on road trips. I suggested that we can meet her in Batangas. She didn't take this well, and has stopped talking me and even blocked me from viewing her stories.
Is there anyway to fix this? I really don't want to be the only driver but I also understand Frenny's frustration. I love her but she really needs to get her own ride. She doesn't understand how tiring it is sometimes especially for trips going to LU or Baguio and she's just the passenger princess.
I thought I did good by being honest with her but it just made things worse.

What will you be doing with this PC? Be as specific as possible, and include specific games or programs you will be using.

• Gaming, and I'd like to be able to play fairly graphically intensive games like Devil May Cry 5, Red Dead Redemption 2, the Resident Evil Remakes, Sea of Thieves, Battlefield 1, etc. I don't feel a strong need to be able to run them all at max settings, but I'd like them to look nice and to be able to enjoy them at high framerates.
• I also like to watch YouTube videos on my second monitor while I play games which have less of a story or a need to give them my full attention. I'd say being able to multitask and process multiple things at a time is also an important thing to be able to do with this build.
• Music production, using FL Studio 21. I'd like to be able to easily use plugins that my old pc (which I believe had an i7 7700k) was unable to run, such as iZotope's Ozone Imager. Music production is something I want to enter into more heavily and I'd say is more of a priority in this build than gaming, ultimately. As long as I can enjoy my games I don't need to be running them at the absolute highest level of performance. With music however, I'd ideally like for there to be as few limitations as possible on what I can use. Within reason and budget, of course.

What is your maximum budget before rebates/shipping/taxes?

When do you plan on building/buying the PC? Note: beyond a week or two from today means any build you receive will be out of date when you want to buy.

What, exactly, do you need included in the budget? (ToweOS/monitokeyboard/mouse/etc)

• Would you all say that generally I should be buying a new tower? Mine is 5-6 years old, but I was open to simply buying new parts which are compatible with it and re-using it for this new build.
• This could help reduce the cost of the build, and my tower also has a few stickers on it which hold some sentimental value to me. Ultimately it's not too important to me that I use the same tower though, and if it being potentially worn-out after all this time is a concern, I'd rather avoid having any issues because of it down the line.
• I believe it is a midtower Phanteks Eclipse p400 with tempered glass, but I'm only 99% sure of that as I don't know how to find out the exact model. If that also makes it too risky to buy new parts which might not fit, I understand.
• In that case, yes I would need a new tower included in the budget.
• I also need a new copy of Windows 11.

• I have two monitors from Dell, one 1080p and one 1440p. Both connect via DisplayPort cable.
• The 1440p monitor is Nvidia G Sync Compatible.
• Razer Ornata Chroma keyboard.
• Just some generic USB mouse. Most of my peripherals such as my ps5 controller and my Blue Snowball mic I connect via USB, keyboard included.
• I use Sennheiser HD 450SE headphones, which I currently connect using a 3.5mm audio jack. They are however Bluetooth, and on this new PC I would very much enjoy built-in Bluetooth functionality so I have the ability to connect them wirelessly.

• I've never overclocked before and am unfamiliar with the process, however my last PC had the capability to.
• So yes, it's something I would be interested in learning to do down the line, but is not something I plan to do right away in all likelihood.

• I'd like a small SSD of around 250-500 GB to install the OS on, also including room for anything else I find necessary to install or store on there like Discord, search engines, things which occasionally prefer you install them on the C drive.

  • It is a mid-tower

• When I try to start a game on lutris (Rocket League) I keep getting a graphics card error from wine (nothing has changed. I am using a Nvidia 3060 card).

Been struggling with Anorexia and Cptsd. Been diagnosed 12 years ago and ive been on disability allowance since. The past few months ive noticed that things are getting tougher money wise. The inflation is hitting hard. This month the electricity came to 25O€ (same consumption but double the price), we had a water leak in my building and we didnt notice days after, so water bill is usually around 11€ and this month came to 60€. Plus i had 3 birthday presents to buy and gas and household groceries my bank account is at 20€ and disability money dont get to bank account until the 11th. Dont have any financial support from family and im lost as to what to do. If anyone has any ideas/can help id appreciate it. I know the link says fundraising for therapy and i do, just whatever comes for now i will use it for this months expenses

I just got a brand new Windows 11 laptop and went to ON to continue organizing my recipes. Much to my dismay, there is no list of notebooks showing on the screen at all!! How am I supposed to move my files from the notebooks imported from Evernote into the new structure in ON if I can't see the structures at the same time? I have gone through all of the menu options - at least I think I have, the brain is a bit foggy right now - and could find nothing.
All of the notebooks are there, but the only place I can see them is in the 'open notebook' list , where, of course, you can't do anything.
Has anyone run into this? Am I just missing a setting somewhere? It's bad enough setting up a new pc without having to deal with Microsoft too! Thanks in advance.
