2023.06.10 13:59 Puzzleheaded-Okra-38 The Abraha Connundrum
![]() | Okay so here we go, so before we begin. I will lay out my current beliefs regarding Islam. submitted by Puzzleheaded-Okra-38 to CritiqueIslam [link] [comments] 1) There was no Islam in the 7th Century. 2)The Ummayads were simply Uniterian/Anti-Triniterian Christians. 3)Their holy sanctuary is located in Petra. 4) They were founded in Syria/Iraq. 5) Ibn Zubair relocated the sanctuary to Mecca. Now let's talk about Abraha and the Kingdom of Exum. So according to the sources we have, the Ethiopian kingdom of exum occupied the Hadhramaut (where Yemen is) region twice, once in the fourth Century, and once in the sixth century. The Kingdom took over the area, supposedly to control the trade that was passing through there. Now one figure that is well known, thanks to his inclusion in Islamic records, is Abrahu Al Ashram. Abrahu was the Exumite governor of The Hadhramaut region. And he is known for the infamous tale of the elephant(emphasis on tale). In the story, Abrahu is said to have conquered the region, and cemented himself as the King of Kings, and king of Yemen, Hadhramaut, Saba and so on. He built a great Christian monastery in the region, and he ordered that the Arabs bow towards it. But most of the Bedouons wanted to bow to Mecca. And apparently, they insulted the monastery with Dung. Abraha was so angry that he decided to March a herd of elephants to Mecca in order to destroy the Kabba, but alas, to his misdemeanor, birds came and destructed the herd. After his humiliating failure, Abrahu returned back to Yemen and would die of plague some time later. Now let's look at the problem here, this story comes from the Islamic Narrative, and like all things Islamic, they don't face as much critical scrutiny as most ancient books, despite the fact that this stuff is written centuries after the fact, there is no contextual criticism done to show if this is true. Any contextual criticism done on the Quran is done to insure that the Quran is accurate, in other words, there is always an aim or an attempt of reduction, putting the future interpretation of a Narrative back into the past. Now that this is out of the way, let us see what's actually happening here. First we have to ask ourself, is Abraha(picture 3) a real person. The answer is yes, Abraha is a very real person. He is attested in Sabaic Inscriptions, one of which is Picture 1 that you see there. And what they tell us about him might come of as either new or shocking. So instead of redacting the Standard Islamic Narrative into the past, why don't we let the Past itself tell us what actually happened. So this is what the inscription translates to. 'The King Abraha Zaybaman, king of Sheba, and Dhi-Raydan, and Hadhramaut, and Yemen, and their bedouins, Najd and Tihamat, wrote this inscription when they returned from the land of Maad after rescuing all the bedouins of Maad from the Mundhir and expelling omar ibn al-Mundhir and rescued every bedouin of Maad, Hajar, a slow line, Yathrib and jazzam' So you can tell things are pretty different here. Let's start with the little details, Abraha is given the title Zaybaman(π©Έπ©Ίπ©¨π©£π©¬), which doesn't appear in the Islamic records judging by how frequent it is. It doesn't necessarily mention an invasion, n fact it seems to be talking about some rescue mission. So it seems like the Northen part of the Peninsula are held captive by the Mundhir(this is important and you see why). Abraha goes and chases off the Mundhir led by a man named Omar Ibn Al-Mundhir. And this Omar seems to be defeated and Abraha returns to Yemen victorious. Now judging by the context of this story, it is safe to say that this and the Elephant Legend is the same thing. But notice how this story is completely different from what Islam posses, the Islamic Narrative seems to have some sort of agenda. This becomes abundantly clear when you realise that apparently this is when Muhammad was Born, when God 'saved the Kaaba'. This story is clearly legendary. Now back to the Mundhir, remember how I said in my previous post, this one, that Muhammad is most likely a based on Ilyas Ibn Qabisah, a Lakhmid Arab. Well, turns out the Mundhir is a Lakhmid dynasty. If you merge this with the fact that all 6th Century sources mention things like, Tachkastan(Lakhmid territory) and Tayaye (Lakhmid Dynasty/Tribe) and even call Muhammad someone of the Tayaye. Then this would make sense. It beautifully ties the Islamic Narrative together. The Lakhmids, along with the Ghassanids, were a powerful Arab Christian tribe. They were stationed in Iraq, and they wanted to invade and conqueror the Peninsula. Abraha stops them. He dies later, and the Lakhmids manage to capture the region through Ilyas. They build a sanctuary in Yathrib(Medinah) to honor Jesus for their victory and conquest. Although please note, those two previous lines could be a stretch. But importantly, one other thing that shows Macca wasn't really a significant location. According to the inscription, Abraha's conquest goes as far as Yathrib(Medinah). Which is far more Northern than Mecca. If Abraha was forging South, he should have passed Mecca, but he didn't. So the question is, if Abraha wanted to take Macca, why didn't he just take it before moving to Yathrib, why isn't Mecca, such an important trade city and house of Ishmael, mentioned in the Inscription, why are the Lakhmids interested in these other insignificant regions. The answer to all these questions is simple. Because there was no such place, Mecca was not so significant, let alone in Abraha's mind, or even more likely, it didn't exist.... So anyway, in case you are wondering, I'm not an artist, those last two pics are AI generated, The second pic is what i thought this 'Omar ibn Al Mundhir ' would look like. The Arabic at the top says 'Omar bin Al Mundhir, 'bd alMahmudi, malik' Lakhmiti', meaning 'Omar, son of Mundhir, slave of the Praised One one(Muhammad, in this case, Jesus), king of the Lakhmids'. The bottom one says 'La Ilaha il-Allah wal-Hamdul 'bduhi wa rasulihi', meaning ' The is no God but Allah and Praised be his slave and messenger'. This is my 'genius attempt at showing how the Shahada is originally a Christian chant. The third is of, of course, my man, my hero, my guy, my brother from another mother, the real-life anime protagonist that I definitely don't simp for. King Abraha Zaybaman. The inscriptions are in Sabaic. The first one on top says 'barakat barak simu-Rahmanan Dhubi-Samyan' which means 'blessed be the name of the Merciful One who is in Heaven'. The second is 'Malkan Abrahu Zaybaman, Malku Saba'i' meaning, King Abrahu Zaybaman, King of Saba/Sheba'. What do you think, they cool or what, feel free to rate them? I put them there to make the post less boring. Anyway, what's your interpretation of this, is there anything missed in the comment. Please feel free to let me know if I did. Thanks for reading. |
