Hi, I have 2 questions as a new father.

1. Do you take PFL + FMLA + CFRA at same time? I am planning to take just 2 weeks off for baby bonding. I want my job to be protected (I guess FMLA + CFRA takes care of that). Also, I want to receive partial salary through PFL. So I am assuming I need to apply for PFL + FMLA + CFRA for these 2 weeks?
2. I was reading that for these 2 weeks, I will responsible for my share of health insurance. Can I pay for my portion of health insurance through my sick/vacation leave hours?

Lately I've realized how much I've let myself become a homebody which brings me here wanting to meet some new people! I'd like to think I'm a pretty down to earth, chill dude. I'm open to talk about pretty much anything, whether it's serious topics or memes.
I live on my own with my dog Marly who keeps me sane. She pretty much goes everywhere with me apart from work. As for what I do, I work as a project manager for a construction company that I've been at since I was 16.
In my free time I spend a lot of time searching for new music. Lately I've been listening to a lot of indie folk/alternative/acoustical stuff but my interest really just depends on my mood. I'm always open to any recommendations! Apart from that I'll binge a lot of TV series, movies and enjoy getting immersed into a game if there's something I want to play

I'm about to graduate with a bachelor's in comp sci. I'm in my late 20's, made the decision to go back to school and finish my degree right before the pandemic. I managed to get an internship last year which turned into a part-time position with an offer for full-time when I graduate.
You guys, I am just so stressed and ready to be finished with school so that the only thing I have to worry about is my crushing imposter syndrome that makes me lay awake with dread every Sunday night.
I just can't deal. Why do I feel so much pressure when literally no one is putting it on me? I just worry that any good thing will be taken away from me somehow. I worry about my friends and family all the time, that something will happen to them. I worry that I'll get laid off or fired randomly.
I was just invited to teach classes at my gym, and I'm so stressed about it because I don't feel like I'm in the right headspace, but at the same time I really want to rise to the occasion. It was really validating to be invited to do that and I want to go for it so bad, but thinking about it has me so anxious. I've never done anything like that before, it would be a new challenge.
I also lost a close family member a year ago so I've just been in my feelings a lot lately. It's been rough.
I just need a goddamn SECOND.
(Just for context I have had a therapist for 2+ years, they're great and I'm seeing them Thursday. Just needed to ventttt. Thank you.)

save yourself the hassle. If you NEVER have to make a change, I suppose this portal is fine for people. But god forbid you ever have to make a change to any flght. I travel for work a lot and I used to love being able to make changes at will without geting charged--but these portals just can't handle it. They no speaky no engrish natively and it takes them 200 years just to do something simple. Each time, you lose a good 1-2 hours of your time dealing with them. So I have been looking for a new vanilla cake recipe, I already have a bunch that I like but I am always looking for different recipes.
I saw a recipe that added instant vanilla pudding and I wanted to try it, because is something that I have done to modify boxed cake but never in a scratch cake.
I loved the texture and the trimming of the cakes tasted wonderful, but then I tasted a bigger piece of the cake and it tasted like cornbread. Delicious sweet , but it had the slight taste of cornbread.
This is the recipe
1 cup butter, room temp 1 1/2 cups sugar 1 tbsp pure vanilla extract 1 1/2 cups buttermilk 3 eggs, room temp 3 cups cake flour 1 tbsp baking powder 1 tsp salt 1/4 cup instant vanilla pudding mix
The recipe was in cups but I used King Arthur's Cake Flour and one cup is 128g of flour, so I used 384g of flour.
Instant pudding mix has cornstarch , so I am wondering if that's the cause of the cornbread flavor and maybe I should increase the sugar an. In my go to recipe the sugar is a higher percentage than the flour.
It could always be overbeating, but i thought overbeating gave the texture of cornbread.
My go to recipe, is one where I whip the egg whites by themselves and fold them in.
4 egg yolks
4 egg whites
360 g of self rising flour
226 g of butter
402 g of sugar
1 cup of milk
1 tbsp of vanilla ( sometimes I add additional extracts like brandy or almond)
I like this recipe, but whipping egg whites sometimes give me inconsistant results. Sometimes the cake becomes too dry because the egg whites were overbeaten. I think my problem is that I still don't know which peak stage is the best one for this cake. I did try replacing some of the butter with oil to see if that would help, and it did I just need to adjust the oven temperature/time with the change in the recipe.

Big trigger warning - CSA
Please don’t report anything as I’m somewhat trained in the law around this, have been talking with a survivor advocate, and am taking the best path forward to keep everyone safe. I simply need to vent and seek community and social support.
I had a very disturbing nightmare two nights ago of my father sa’ing me. I have had this repeated nightmare since I was little, but only like 5 or so times. My father has crossed borderline boundaries and I clearly remember them (I was also older), but I have no clear memory of this drastic thing. Memories have been triggered for me recently after some issues with my father not wearing pajamas came up again with my sister, who’s living with them (I’m in my own apartment w/ my long term partner).
After the dream, I started to piece some things together about another memory I had about dad/daughter camping trips. I didn’t want to ruin my partners and I’s date night so I repressed it. But then my current injury got triggered and I was immense pain. I felt something in me snap.
I felt like I was physically fighting another part of me in my brain, like my head was splitting in two. I heavy dissociated in high school due to pain from tear in my hip that took forever to heal. This part of me would take over and be a bitch and help me yell at my parents to stop them from yelling at my sister and target me instead. This part of me was also very cruel to my partner.
I recovered with grounding and exercise, and simply getting out of th house. But yesterday I felt this bitch me pushing to take over for th first time in years. After talking with my partner afterwards, I soon realized that I only remembered half of the breakdown. Apparently I kept asking him if he was scared yet or if he was going to break yet. I only remember telling him I didn’t want this and that I was trying to stop. I remember going to the bathroom to calm down and then remembering when I had to hide from my parents in the bathroom. Everything was triggering me. I was trying to breath but I didn’t feel in control. I revealed what I had maybe remembered and he helped me calm down with ice and distress tolerance.
I haven’t felt so out of control in so long. I have diagnosed dp/dr, OCD, depression, and anxiety. This felt different from “I’m not real” dissociation. I’m not quite sure what to do. I don’t know if this memory is real and I’m worried telling my therapist will trigger a mandated report while my sister is living with them abroad and they could cut communication off.
What advice I’d like: 1. How to deal with memories and breakdowns 2. Talking with therapists 3. Supporting siblings still living with bad parents 4. If this is an alter, how do you regain control? 5. Your general take on this tbh

I am an anime connoisseur. It's my entire existence. Sure I know the mainstream stuff but I know more anime than most casual "fans" would know. So naturally I got interested in Japanese culture as a whole and, being a man of culture, the adult stuff too both animated and live action. Call be a big ol weeb idgaf I won a recent "weeb room competition" with my favorite English speaking Japanese streamer a little bit ago I'm full weeb. I have figures posters and yes even a body pillow lol. Anyways Ive been learning Japanese through duolingo but many other English speaking Japanese youtubers has said its no good along with other apps and text books including my favorite streamer but honestly with the stuff I hear in hen- wholesome good anime I think I'm skirting by.
Anyways I acquired a female companion recently who claims to be an anime fan but she really only likes mainstream stuff and also that girly shit too like boy bands and other unimportant stuff. I also found out she likes gay JAV 🤢 which is weird since I'm not like those feminine sissy "men" I'm the complete opposite I have a beard I'm proud of and I don't spend 4 hours on make up and that skin nonsense. Also I'm a bigger fella so it kind of makes me insecure but honestly its her business what she flicks the ol bean to so whatever.
Anyways before this gets too long I recently discovered she pays for a Japanese course of "real Japanese spoken by real Japanese people" by this guy named That Japanese Man Yuta and she paid over $300 for it! And she likes to brag and show off her skills and it gets on my nerves since she acts like shes better than me and she always talks down duolingo and such. But Im not paying money when I can use all these other resources. She has only been learning for 3 months and I've been doing it for almost 2 years but honestly in the long run I'm better at Japanese because I've been learning for longer than her and her brain will soon forget/ Today she wanted to practice and she was showing off once again so I asked her if I could have the log in information and use the course she's using since she wants to be a smartass about it. She said no and I hounded her on why because its a lifetime access and she said I always "talk down her interests as inferior and blahblahblah" I lost my temper and called her selfish then went home. I want to learn Japanese to go to Akiba and maid cafes and buy some adult dvds if you catch my drift and such. She wants to drool over feminine "men" who wear makeup and buy expensive overpriced merch of mainstream anime (which the merch I would get would be the more niche shows and therefore not overpriced tourist stuff)

Some background: late 20s single male, work remotely (hopefully permanent, otherwise my commute will be around 190 miles per week, tops), don't drive a ton besides occasionally going out. I plan on keeping this next vehicle for a long time. I'm not a huge car person and have been fine driving my Sonata, so I really don't need a lot to be content. Realistically, I could just find a used 2016 or something and save more money, but figure I might as well go for something newer.
I'm currently driving an 09 Sonata and feel like it's the time to get a new car. I've been driving the Sonata for about 9 years now, with no real issues besides two car door window motors breaking in the past few months and a transmission that appears to be getting worse.
I think I've decided on getting a Mazda3 2.5S Select sedan since it's hitting most of the boxes I'd want in a new car (looks, mileage, features for a pretty good price). Mainly went for the 2.5S Select since it offers the blind spot monitoring, whereas the base model does not. It doesn't look like any of the dealerships around me have any in stock, so I'll probably end up having to order one. From what I have seen, the prices are at or around MSRP ($25k~ USD). I really love the Deep Crystal Blue Mica color, so that's primarily what I've been eyeing.
I was planning on going to a dealership tomorrow to do a test drive and potentially putting an order in, but I ended up finding a 2021 Mazda6 Grand Touring for just under $27k. Is this a decent price? I think the 3 fits my "needs" more, but for around the same price, this 6 has some nice extras and low mileage at 17.8k miles. I don't necessarily need what's offered in the Model6 as I'm more than happy with the 2023 Model3's offerings, but I'll definitely take em if it's a good price (and it's already on the lot with the blue color I want).

Grand Theft Auto V is one of the most profitable entertainment franchises in the history of games. It came along as a return to form after what many fans would argue was a misstep with the more gritty and realistic GTA 4. Originally released back in 2013 for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3—yes, it spans three console generations—developer Rockstar has supported the game's online mode with continual updates adding new content, new areas, and even all-new mechanics.
GTA V was such a runaway success—and GTA The Trilogy: Definitive Edition was such a dumpster fire—that Rockstar gave up working on a Red Dead Redemption 2 DLC, and has now reportedly abandoned plans to remaster more of its beloved older titles to instead focus on both further GTA Online content as well as the development of GTA 6.

Naturally, expectations for GTA 6 are incredibly high, and given the advanced age of GTA V, fans are chomping at the bit for any bit of news. That's why there's so much buzz around a report at Bloomberg that focuses on Rockstar's new corporate culture. Company co-founder Dan Houser left Rockstar in 2020, and ever since then the development house has been trying to reshape a corporate culture that the report refers to as being "like a frat house".
Given the nature and tone of the humor in the Grand Theft Auto series, it's really not surprising to hear that the atmosphere inside Rockstar was juvenile and chauvinistic. The report remarks that the workplace culture at Rockstar was "full of drinking, brawling, and excursions to strip clubs." That may sound like a good time to some, but it's admittedly not very professional.

As part of the report, author Jason Schreier casually reveals that GTA 6 will have at least two playable protagonists, and that one of them will be a Latina woman. This technically isn't the first playable woman nor even the first playable Hispanic woman in the GTA series; the very first GTA game featured a Latina named "Katie" as one of its eight playable characters.
Still, very few of the series' modern fans even remember the old DOS-based Grand Theft Auto, so we can forgive everyone for forgetting about poor Katie. Regardless, the new girl will apparently be part of a Bonnie-and-Clyde-like crime duo, calling to mind the partnership between Claude and Catalina in the beginning of Grand Theft Auto III. Hopefully the partnership between the new player characters in GTA 6 doesn't end the same way that one did.

I'm looking for:

• a new (with warranty) 14"-16" laptop for playing Windows games when I'm on the road
• doesn't need to be stellar performance; just needs to run Valheim (for example) well enough not to be annoying (so, performance a bit better than a GeForce 970)
• good build quality, not fragile and won't have trouble getting drivers for it
• as long as all that is met, cheapelighter is preferable

I'd get a Steam Deck, but I want a larger display and a keyboard and mouse. I'd also consider a non-gaming laptop + GeForce Now, but I don't want the latency and I might be in a place with poor bandwidth.
If I can get a Steam Deck for $400, I should be able to find a comparable laptop in the same price range, right?

So though I enjoy the occasional simply nasty villain I decided to make my current villain group morally ambiguous. This small group claims they want to destroy the weakness in the world in order to make the whole stronger. This includes wiping out corrupt leaders and towns that rely on others to handle their own problems. Like violent vigilantes. The group is antagonistic but they want the players to let them complete their plans to supposedly "make for a better world".
So now 2 of my 5 players joined up with the villain group. They didn't betray the other players, but they want to give the villains a chance rather than just kill them. This mess is on me for making my villains basically allow the players to team with them.
So now I have 3 characters (in-game) mad at the other 2. How could I go about this to get the group back together without it feeling too forced? I'm not able to put on 2 separate sessions. But I'd prefer to not make the 2 that left into NPCs and force new character write ups. Any ideas would be appreciated.
