I'm getting another car soon and have a few used ones in mind. I want to bring a mechanic with me to inspect each car and tell me what the condition is really like. What is a good amount to pay a mechanic for each car they inspect?
To clarify, I'm not trying to bring the mechanic through the entire sales process with me. Just to look over the vehicle and tell me what they think.

Hey everyone, I'm looking for a single din radio for my car that can play cassettes and have a build in Bluetooth receiver. Is that even possible to find for sale or would I need someone to engineer it for me?

A month ago, my car engine light came on and it started stuttering. I took it to the dealership and it’s still there, not yet fixed, waiting an engine part. It’s covered under extended warranty. Car is owned outright, but I have no savings. It is a Astra 66 plate, purchased in 2019 for £12,700, done 33k miles. I’ve decided to sell the car when fixed, I think it’s worth about £10k second hand.
I urgently needed a car and they wouldn’t give me a courtesy so I decided to take out a £16,000 Tesco loan over six years at 5.4% APR (£260pcm) ; the plan was was to buy a car for about £12k ish, pay off a few credit cards (£3k) and then when I get my original car back to sell this and pay the loan down with proceeds and have much reduced monthly payments on the loan.
However, when I went to the showroom to test drive some used cars, I ended up signing a 4 year PCP deal on a brand new car for £21,600 (£1,500 deposit, £313pcm 7.3% APR, final payment about £9k).
My old car is still in garage, not sure when fixed. They say awaiting a part.
I’ve paid down some CCs, deposit on the new car, insurance, etc. and so have £10,300 of the loan left, which in theory I don’t really need, assuming my old car comes back OK and is saleable.
My situation now is ;
£10k in bank £16k Tesco loan, 6 years, 5.4%, £260pcm
£21k PCP car finance 4 year, 7.3%, £313pcm for 4yrs then £9k final payment
A car in the garage with engine work being done, hoping it comes back to me saleable for around £10k
My new plan was to await car sale, get £10k from this, pay that off the PCP (getting the PCP payment to about £100pcm), then repay most of the Tesco loan with the £10k I have now (reduce payment not term), and then save for the balloon payment on the new car.
But I am now thinking that because the PCP is a higher interest rate than Tesco loan (albeit a shorter term), would it be best to pay the £10k I have now (from the Tesco loan) onto the PCP finance now? And then when old car is sold, use proceeds from that to further pay down the PCP before repaying the loan, i.e. should overpayments now on these debts be targeted first onto the PCP before the Tesco loan?

Idk if this is just too weird events happening or if this is someone like marking the house, anyone ever hear of anything like this? Should I get the police involved or is it just some kids?

Adding my personal experience since I know a lot of people come on here for research or to find out more about it after or before getting lured in. I was recruited by a friend almost right after I turned 18. His whole family was doing it and it seemed as if they were doing well, they drove nice cars etc. So I decided to check it out, I went to one of the meetings and was actually surprised finding one out one of the guys makes 3 million a year. He is actually pretty successful and has helped others in the “hierarchy “ become millionaires but only a very few. I decided to give it a shot although it sounded a bit sketchy. I went ahead and got my license and made about 1k. But after your immediate friends and family it is insanely hard to recruit or sale policies. Which is what they don’t tell you. They talk so much about building a team but that’s because you will only make money of off their immediate friends and family. Their is a lot of big “base shops” within the business but they don’t show real numbers. Most of their numbers end up leaving and it’s just constant recruiting. Not about actually helping people. One of the things you will also find is that they think they are above everyone else and that their is no better “job” out their. You can be working for nasa and they’ll try to tell you that it’s not a good job. But in reality they just make up numbers to try and make it seem better. Even the millionaires seem to not be so rich. The leader of our hierarchy threw a party and charged everyone $60 to be in the party. If he’s so rich why is he charging? They will make you believe any money you put in or anything you pay is an investment so you must be smart about not giving your money to them. I find it messed up how they go after very young teens who don’t know better or people struggling with money because they know they will believe it. But point is there is actually people that make money but I would say probably less than 1% of the people that join will actually do good. So don’t fall for the numbers they show because the amount of people that leave or quit is far greater. I left after I made some money but so many people end up staying and loosing that money they make. So be wise about what you do.

So my car broke down and its not driveable as the engine seized. The mechanic is willing to buy the car but it will take roughly 2 months to have it safetied since he doesnt have parts. Also I want to ask if he doesnt plan to take it on the road and just keep it at his garage would he still need to buy car insurance. Also am I responsible once I go to service Ontario and give the bill of sale, uvip and complete the due procedure if he meets an accident?
What can I do to make this a clean sale as much as possible?
