Mayfly Crossbow
Presenting Guardian Mayfly, a Shugod based on Gerojim. I wonder how likely this concept is now that Gerojim is a good bug. Will he willingly give some of his DNA to Shiokara? I doubt it. Maybe he can shapeshift into a Shugod? Please tell me how likely it is for this concept to come true in the comments.

2023.06.08 13:04 AmkoCamikaze Volvo ATF question

Hey all.
I just got a Volvo XC90 D5 2010 and will be doing a fluid flush, it's at 143k miles on the original and getting a 2nd to 3rd shift flare.
Got some Mobil ATF multi vehicle fully synthetic fluid that is recommended for use in JWS 3309 applications. Quick search online brings info not to use general purpose oils and instead a very specific 3309 for this car.
I'll be putting in 3l to start the flush and will observe but are they really so sensitive to the fluid used or is it a bit out of proportions with the new oils etc?
Thanks

2023.06.08 13:04 throwaway829483 Just lost another friend.

(Using a throwaway bc I don’t want this connected to my main just in case, but I’m a longtime subber here.) Long wall of text incoming — TL;DR: I was blindsided by a friend “breaking up” with me for being too “suffocating” and need advice on how to move forward and be a better friend to the friends I still have.
I met my friend, A, when I moved to my current city in a new country. We hit it off immediately, and my husband and I seemed to become good friends with her husband and her. We had a lot of similar interests, and for a while were all going to the gym and doing other stuff together. A introduced me to her friend group, and they’re still the friends I have now, ~9 months after arriving here. I feel very fortunate to have met her.
Thinking back, I guess the first cracks in our relationship started to appear around 4 months ago. A has a car while I don’t, and where we live, it’s not necessary but definitely helpful for getting to a lot of places, including our gym. A and I also live right down the street from each other, so if we’re both going somewhere, it’s super easy for us to ride together. Our gym bud, D, stopped riding to the gym with us, and A texted me to say she didn’t want to carpool with my husband and I anymore so she could go straight to the gym from work. I was a bit upset, bc we have no other reasonable way to get there and that gym was 1/4 of the price or less of every gym we could walk to, but I said I understood.
When we first met, she told me she was a soccer player, and was part of a local club. I’d never played soccer but I really love it, so I asked her if there was a spot open on the team. Eventually, a spot opened up; however, I once again ran into the issue of transportation. It’s doable to walk, but quite far, and driving takes no time at all. She wasn’t playing for a while due to an injury, but just today told me she’s coming back full time. I was super excited, and asked her first how the pain was and all. Then, I asked if I could ride with her to and from practice again. It’d been quite a hurdle for me, so I was excited for that as well.
Here’s where shit hits the fan. A said she could take me home, but didn’t want to pick me up. I said okay but asked why, wondering if she had something else going on before practice. Honestly, I didn’t phrase it the nicest way, but it wasn’t completely rude. I was still a bit hurt from the gym situation, since I haven’t been able to get back to a gym due to financial and location constraints since she stopped taking me, and that admittedly surfaced a bit in my reply. She eventually responded with a wall of text saying she thinks I’m a “nice girl”, but that she’s feeling suffocated by our relationship and needs space. She said she was trying to drop hints, but I never picked up on them. (She’s also always presented and described herself as a blunt person too, and been blunt with me before when I’ve upset her, so I definitely didn’t pick up on them.) She named all the way back to me taking interest in the things she does when we first met, like playing soccer and joining groups to study the local language and discuss books, and called me out for venting too much about my problems, which a) I haven’t done in months since we have barely spoken since we stopped going to the gym together and b) I always asked if it was okay for me to vent and did my best only to vent at times she was also venting.
I can see where she’s coming from at certain points, but at other points it feels very unfair for me to be expected to have picked up on those things. I really do feel hurt that she has told and shown me that she’s a person who will address problems upfront instead of dropping hints, and now suddenly I’m supposed to pick up hints I didn’t know were there. Now, I’m paranoid that my other friends think similarly negatively of me, and also don’t want me around. The foreigner community in my city is very close-knit, and if someone hurts one of the people in our group, they get essentially excommunicated. I’m so worried this will happen to me and my husband too. We finally found a good place and finally made some friends for the first time in our lives and I feel like it’s all going to come crashing down around us because I can’t manage to be a good friend.
Obviously this is only my side of the story. I tried to be as objective as possible, but I can’t know how A feels. I just want some advice. Am I a bad friend? What do I do now? I guess this relationship has kinda been ruined — I have a GREAT track history of that — but how do I preserve my other friendships? I’m so scared to lose everyone. Please help me.

2023.06.08 13:03 Eion_Kid [24.5M] I'm a proud RTX 4090 owner with none to play games with.

Hello, I'm a software engineer, I moved to San Jose all the way from Asia. Been here for almost like 6 months with nobody to talk to other than colleagues at work. They all good and everything but I believe they too professional with me or I couldn't connect with them because of the age gap, almost all of them are married and are at least 10 years older than me.
I'm into anime, games and up for any talks tbh. Or we can talk about computers or the story behind my $10K+ build. I watch animes in a philosophical way, I used to star gaze the night sky back in my country. I just got my new car, looking to move some other part from Downtown, San Jose in couple of months. Let's talk about anything literally, I prefer DM's but feel free to comment.

2023.06.08 12:58 dokwav Car rental in Germany

I'm travelling to Munich, Germany at the end of the month for a week and I'd like to rent a car but I unfortunately do not have a credit card.
I've rented a car in Spain a few times before using a debit card and just paying a larger security deposit (usually around 1.2k euro).
Just wondering if this option exists in Germany and if so, with which companies?
Thanks

2023.06.08 12:53 LordEldritchia Looking for a Cookeville job as a student, no prior experience. Advice wanted!

I’ve already browsed through local job listings to see what might be available, but I just wanted to branch out and see if I can get any suggestions or recommendations! Looking for pointers on open jobs, suggestions on where to look, general advice, etc. I’ve included more detailed information about my situation below, but if you don’t want to read that much:
———
I don’t have a car or a license. I could probably get one, but I’m disabled and driving is one of the things that’s probably best not to do. Definitely can do public transit if available or UbeLyft.
All of my classes are on Tuesday and Thursday, except for one math class in the early morning (0800-0850), so I’m mostly free on Sunday, Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday.
I’d love a quiet data-focused job that doesn’t require working with customers often, but I’m aware that limited experience is going to make this unlikely. I don’t generally mind working with people, I just have difficulty doing so that likely makes me an undesirable worker and will need a break between interactions.
Things I’m good at and have experience in, though some may not be relevant:

2023.06.08 12:53 Life-Cryptographer78 Going to look at an 05 rx8 today

So I'm going to look an 05 rx8 Gt mt today theyre asking $4000. Im hoping you guys can give me some tips as im not super familiar with the platform. Looks to be in pretty good shape has about 105k miles. It says new plugs, coils, wires. Only used prem fuels and had 2 stroke oil mixed to protect seals. Only mod is factory cat delete with aftermarket midpipe.
Just wondering what things I should check for that I can do on a test drive. It's going to be a second car(I just want to keep the miles down on my 23 wrx) so I'd like to get a atleast couple years out of it. Plan to do compression tests if I buy it cause I'm not sure I'll be able to get it in on short notice. Not really sure what to look for when I check it out so any tips would be greatly appreciated!

2023.06.08 12:51 ImaginaryList174 Don't take your health for granted guys..

I apologize in advance for the length of my rant, and if I am somewhat rambling. I just really need to let this out and have no one to talk to.
I am a 34(f) from Canada. I have really been struggling for several years. I am a very independent person, and have lived on my own since I was 16. I have always had 2-3 jobs, and thrived on it. My mom and my entire family really other than my dad, are severe alcoholics, and I made the decision to leave at 16 and pretty much cut contact unless they could someday choose me over the booze. That never happened. Before this "rough period" I felt like I had gotten away, broke the curse and made something of myself. I was succesful and happy. Working 2 jobs, a long term partner, our own house.. life was good. But it all went to shit. It started in 2017 when I found out I had endometrioid adenocarcinoma (uterine cancer), which thankfully we caught quick and was very treatable. After that whole ordeal, I was back to work for less than one month before a woman who was texting and driving ran a red light and T-boned me on the driver's side door as I was driving through my green light. More hospitals, more therapies and more missed work. Once I was back to work for about 2 months this time, covid hit and I was laid off from one job and fired from the other. I was considered high risk due to my immune system being shot from my cancer treatments, so my doctor told me I couldn't work and to isolate anyways. Once lockdowns ended and things got somewhat back to normal, I found a new job. A great job actually that I was really excited about and love. I have been there now over a year and a half, and was trying my hardest to dig myself out of my immense hole of debt. I didn't have benefits before this job, so although the major stuff during the cancer and the accident like the surgeries, the chemo, the radiation etc. was all covered a lot of stuff was not. I had to pay for very expensive perscriptions, therapies, physio etc. on top of not having any income for just over 2 years altogether between the cancer and car accident. I blew through my savings within about six months, and then took out multiple credit cards and lines of credit. At first, I really wasn't that worried. In my head, I just thought like.. I need to do what I have to do to survive right now, and once I am healthy again I will just work my ass off for a couple years to pay all this off. Then covid hit, and after I was fired I really started to worry. I somehow limped through and came out the other side and then got this job that I have now, that I mentioned before. The new problem now is that once again I am having major health issues. I have been on sick leave since October. Thankfully, this time I have insurance at this job, unlike the previous times, so I am still have some sort of income even though it's very minimal. I have been in and out of the hospital for months with internal bleeding, stomach ulcers, anemia, extreme fatigue, severe stomach pains, and nausea. Everything here in Healthcare is so backed up right now from covid times that it is taken forever to get anything done. I am going for my 2nd endoscopy/colonoscopy on June 15th with the internal medicine specialist/ gastroenterolgist that I was referred to ages ago and its finally happening. The first one didn't work because there was some sort of blockage they couldn't get by. So hopefully I will have concrete answers soon. But in the meantime it's been a mess. MRIs, CT scans, ultrasounds, iron transfusions, blood transfusions, blood work every week, barium enemas and on and on. My mom has colon cancer, and her father died from colon cancer, along with several other family members.. so I am very nervous.
I am not exaggerating when I say I lost everything. My partner of 8 years broke up with me during the cancer ordeal because he was worried I wouldn't be able to have kids. We actually found out I had cancer in the first place because we were trying to get pregnant, I didn't have my period for 4 months and we thought I was pregnant forsure but the tests kept saying negative. So we went to my gyno, all excited and happy... and left with horrible news instead. During those 6 years I also lost my house, my perfect credit, my nice brand new vehicle, a lot of friends, and more. Once I had gotten this new job I thought like.. finally.. a break. I will get back on track this time. And now with this new round of health issues, I just feel like giving up. I have always tried to be positive no matter what. But this time, it's feeling impossible. Life is just so hard when you have no safety net or someone to fall back on isn't it? I never realized before how much I took my health and ability to work for granted. Now, I am alone, bed ridden, worried about being evicted from my crappy one bedroom apartment with no where to go and no one to talk to. I am behind on my rent, my phone and internet is about to be cut off.. the 60% of my wages I am getting from sick leave doesn't make it really far and I'm just limping along here. I also used to bartend on the side which was a huge help to my monthly income and I haven't been able to do that for months either.
Anyways. That was a lot lol and I apologize. It's just been eating me up and I needed to get it out somehow. There are a lot of safety nets in canada, but it seems like since I have a job on paper although unable to work, I don't qualify for many. If anyone has any idea's i would really appreicate it!! Being bed ridden is not good for someone who likes to be active. All you can do is sit here and think think think.
If you've made it this far, thank you and I hope you have a great day! Xo

2023.06.08 12:45 LetNecessary2157 La vie au chantier

« Y a-t-il des animaux pour vous aider? »

What Is The Best Car Ever Made?

How do we determine what is the best car ever made? Do we treat all vehicles the same and compare muscle cars with SUVs? These are the questions that come to mind whenever we talk about the best models out there.
Luckily, we usually evaluate the performance of each car in its category. That way, we can avoid confusion and find vehicles that are truly steeped with superior qualities.
Today we’ll concentrate on fuel efficiency and discuss cars that have higher mpg. We’ll list down several models that dominate their category and provide you with several options.
So, what is the best gas mileage car ever?

WHAT IS MPG AND WHY DOES IT MEASURE FUEL EFFICIENCY?

Mileage per gallon (mpg) represents how many miles your vehicle travels with a single gallon of gas. The higher that number, the more fuel-efficient the car is. There are several tips and tricks that help you to increase car mileage.
But who measures the mpg? – in the US, it’s the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). It tests cars in casual situations and calculates the average accordingly.
Frequent stops, traffic, your speed – these are the factors that affect fuel efficiency significantly. Therefore, a car will have a different mpg on the highway and in the city. To give us the full information, EPA tells us the mpg in the city, on the highway, and combined.
Even though the mpg won’t be exactly the same in real life, it still helps us calculate the fuel costs before we purchase a vehicle. It’s a great starting point if you want to know how affordable a car will be to maintain. Even thought there are many ways to take good care of a car, and improve its current condition. However, fuel-efficiency is one of the outstanding detail while buying a vehicle.
Therefore, when we’re talking about the vehicle with the best gas mileage, you should take its mpg with a grain of salt.
What happens with electric vehicles that don’t employ gas at all? – their efficiency is measured with MPGe (miles per gallon of gasoline-equivalent). It attempts to equate one gallon of gas with 1 unit of energy. Thus, MPGe represents how much distance a vehicle can travel per 1 unit of energy.
To figure out what is the best electric car ever, it’s important to include MPGe in our evaluations.

2023.06.08 12:36 adtcjkcx Is a franchise dealership better than an independent one?

So I’m looking at 2 cars. One is a 2014 Nissan juke and the other is a 2014 Toyota Camry. Both are at 104k miles. The juke is from a Hyundai dealership is it’s going for $11500 and the Camry is from the independent dealership going for $13000. I checked both VIN numbers and nothing bad stands out. I will say that when I can called in regards for the Camry, the person said it needed some bodywork done, replace a door. That threw up a red flag to me. But other than that, I’m looking at a car that is reliable since I drive a lot. All things being equal, does the type of dealership matter at all when looking at used cars? Both have 4/5 stars when it comes to reviews
