Hi all, my doctor thinks I have chronic pancreatitis due to my chronic immune system problems. The wildfire smoke has set off my immune issues, and so somewhat predictably, I am back on clear fluids to manage what we think is a pancreatitis flare. (Don't worry, I have a specialist appointment for testing soon.)
I am... incredibly bored of broth. I can't have most electrolyte drinks, because both the artificial sweeteners and glucose spike from sugary electrolyte drinks upset my body in assorted fun ways. I have other ways to manage my electrolyte needs. I have assorted herbal teas.
What are some other options for clear liquids I can try during flares? I'm ok with making them myself, but also I appreciate hearing store bought brands people have had luck with. (I'm in the US, in terms of "what's available in stores near me.")

I just want to be treated with normal indifference, not have my sexuality brought up every 10 minutes. Signs in the store, commercials at the movies, ALL of social media. The constant corporate pandering from companies who don't actually care. Being treated like a political football in the news.
I get that we in the LGBTQ+ community have to continually right for our rights, and I'm not diminishing that. But true off my chest, the attention makes me uncomfortable.

Not sure if this is the correct place for this but I am lost and hoping for some guidance. After years in a Christian sect, I've freed myself of it and my spiritual journey has led me to Zen.
I would like to explore this further beyond meditating at home and reading things online, I'd like the opportunity to practice and learn with/from a community or qualified teacher.
Googling centers near me didn't really yield any results. Anyone in/around the Orlando FL area familiar with a Zen Center you could point me to?

I'm looking to install a 12 inch ported subwoofer in my 2023 VW GTI. However I need some advice on part information regarding the quality of brand product lines (Alpine Type S/R,JL W's, Kicker Comp C/VR) since it's been about a full 10 years since I last put together a system in my car and also I just am not very knowledgeable about all this.
I sorta gather how brands that used to reign supreme back then went through a steep degradation of quality control so their products now are nowhere near as solid as they used to be, ie Alpine Type R Subs, JL W Series Subs, etc.
I ran 2 12" JLw0s in a sealed ebay box for a bit for my first setup ever with some random amp then w2's which were absolutely amazing, I loved that. Those sounded so damn good, I enjoyed that setup a lot just to give some frame of reference for what I'm looking for except now I want a single ported 12" ideally cause I want to keep some room in my hatch of my GTI.
Another important reference point comes from when I heard my buddie's single 12" Alpine Type S (Sealed I think) in his old 2004 VW GTI which sounded SO good that I always wished my 2 12" JL setup was even half as good. It was most likely just a better tuned setup with actual thought and knowledge put into things better quality parts etc, what a shocker that it was so much better right?
Anyways, I listen to primarily rap, some uk garage, and metal/hardcore. I have always loved powerful, clean, loud bass with my music. I'm a total audiophile but I don't have the budget nowadays to afford
What I really would want is something like a Sundown 12" setup with a custom box tuned perfectly, like stupid low @ 24hz and I realize that my low budget won't be able to allow buying a setup that can accommodate anything close to that low of a frequency.
I have a ~$500 budget for sub, box, and amp. I have an LC2i and Knuconceptz Kolossus 4 gauge OFC amp install kit already.
Really want a powerful, reliable, clean sounding setup that would compliment the music genres I enjoy listening to the most that sounds the best at primarily the lower range of frequencies but still performs decent in higher frequencies. Most important is clean, impressive sounding low end.
I really wish I knew someone that could build me a custom enclosure for a good price but unfortunately I don't think a custom enclosure is in the cards which is why I'm considering only prefab stuff...
I've been thinking of:
$360 Kicker Solo Baric L7S passive 2ohm 750w RMS + box
$260 Kicker Comp R passive 2ohm 500w RMS + box
$280 Kicker Solo Baric L7T passive 2ohm 600w RMS + box
~$200 Alpine Type R 2ohm just the driver and find some prefab somewhere online that would do it justice.
And finally the best one, my top pick I think:
$280 Sundown SA-12 D4 Classic dual 4ohm 750w RMS - Only possibly issue is that 4ohm might not suit my needs but this thing might slap so hard it might not even matter lol. I don't think I'd be able to get an enclosure that would do this thing justice at all, at least not for a year or so when I can work on paying for a custom box for it. It's just hard to justify paying the equal cost of the sub itself on an enclosure at the moment but for a Sundown it would be worth it down the line.
For all of those subs though I'm totally clueless as to what amps I should run...
If you made it through this flood of text I salute you and would GREATLY appreciate any help in pointing me in the right direction. I want to get everything installed this month so I want easily accessible parts. Thanks!!!

I’ve seen a ton of posts and memes hating on this concept recently, and maybe it’s just my corner of the internet, but I really don’t get it? I get that it’s kind of a retcon, but it honestly makes sense to me. Obviously not every clone group was going to be successful in eliminating their Jedi, and not all of them would have been with clones or at the temple.
The Jedi Order was a pretty large organization at the time. We never get an exact count but it’s stated that there were 10,000 Jedi Knights in the galaxy at the end of the war, and while I’m inclined to believe Masters and Jedi of higher rank were included in that, I don’t think that probably includes padawans, younglings, and people like Temple Guards who weren’t really Jedi Knights.
Jedi were exceptional combatants armed with lightsabers and the force, and by the end of the war had plenty of experience in fights against blaster wielding opponents. I’d give most individual Jedi Knights a pretty good chance against a small number of clones, and Masters a good chance against larger groups as well.
Also, not every Jedi would probably be cut down immediately. Some, like we see in ROTS would have been taken by surprise, but not every Jedi would go down so easily. Obi-Wan manages to survive the initial attempt to kill him and evade clones to escape off world, and I don’t see why other Jedi couldn’t do similar.
And not every Jedi would have been near clones at the time. As of Obi-Wan, Rahm Kota is canon again, and I can’t see him being the only Jedi to not work with clones. And it’s not like we don’t see Anakin, Ahsoka, and Obi-Wan without their clones during the war, they had plenty of missions with no clones at all. In fact, it doesn’t really make much sense that the initial clone purge and assault on the Jedi Temple was even 99% effective, at least to me. It just doesn’t seem logistically possible.
It’s not like just because the original trilogy doesn’t mention any other Jedi doesn’t mean it isn’t possible. Vader and the inquisitors had two decades to hunt down Jedi, and many who were still alive probably all but disappeared, never to resurface. Ten-thousand Jedi knights might be a lot to have killed all of during the purge, but it isn’t that many in the grand scheme of the galaxy, and I’d imagine there’s plenty of places to hide off the empire’s radar
And speaking of the inquisitors, they don’t really make sense narratively for the fifty some confirmed Jedi survivors. Some of the inquisitors reference having killed Jedi before, in the plural sense, and Vader’s obviously killed and broken far more than any of them. If it was only a small amount, I’d think he’d handle it himself.
So maybe it’s just me, but I don’t hate the idea of Jedi survivors? Obviously there’s be some, and it’s not like it isn’t a narratively interesting story concept to use. What do you guys think?

I live in a complex in Irvine (Not an Irvine company complex) and there is a electrician company that comes by to dumps all their waste in our residential trash bins. They are not working in our complex. I’m guessing the owner of the company lives near me. Some days there is a lot of fluorescent lights, smoke detectors, wiring and other electrical waste found in our trash bins. Is this illegal? Who would be the correct person to direct this to? I have been trying very hard to get on track. I use to call in a lot feeling sick or anxious so a year or so ago I went to my doctors and told then what was going on. They have been very supportive. They got me ADHD meds and antidepressants and helped ne get FMLA through work. Since then I haven't been calling in as much, but my job merged with a bigger company and they haven't been as understanding. This last week my rent payment didn't go through so per my rental contract I could only try again via certified funds at a store. I dont have a car so I had to call in to take a bus there and back and said I'd most likely be in towards the end of the day. Apparently this is the 5th time in 5 months that I have called in so now they are "investigating". I had no choice and I just feel like a failure. I don't know what to do and I feel myself doing into a depression spiral. I just want to be good and I'm been working so hard.

I just finished assembling two standing desks for my wife and I. We live in an apartment and so I needed desk tops that were smaller than standard. I also wanted something made of hardwood and would allow me to stain match our other furniture.
I went with 2 uplift V2 24” frames. There arm lengths (21”) allowed me to utilize tables with depths of 22” (my wife) and 24” (mine) Even with skinnier tops their is no wobble or lack of stability.

They had a great selection of grains and finishes. I went with an unfinished edge-grain table tops made of cherrywood. They came pre-sanded and all i had to do was apply two coats of stain on my porch and several layers of water based lacquer. Definitely will use them again for other projects due to their great customization options.
All in all I made two custom Uplift standing desks for $1816 post tax and shipping. Which is a little cheaper than what they are currently running for if you bought their more expensive hard-wood option.

I went with 2 uplift V2 24” frames. There arm lengths (21”) allowed me to utilize tables with depths of 22” (my wife) and 24” (mine) Even with skinnier tops their is no wobble or lack of stability.

They had a great selection of grains and finishes. I went with an unfinished edge-grain table tops made of cherrywood. They came pre-sanded and all i had to do was apply two coats of stain on my porch and several layers of water based lacquer. Definitely will use them again for other projects due to their great customization options.
All in all I made two custom Uplift standing desks for $1816 post tax and shipping. Which is a little cheaper than what they are currently running for if you bought their more expensive hard-wood option.

There are a lot of factors that make celebrating my achievements and feeling happy for myself very difficult. The people I surrounded myself with in my first life (Pre-ADHD treatment) have already moved on, and the ones that remain continue to hold me back from success however they can.
I know now that none of them understand the struggles involved in the way that this subreddit and other neurodivergent communities do. So I felt like making a post to better solidify how far I've actually come. There is still a lot of work ahead, but there is finally a light at the end of this long, dark tunnel.

I know now that none of them understand the struggles involved in the way that this subreddit and other neurodivergent communities do. So I felt like making a post to better solidify how far I've actually come. There is still a lot of work ahead, but there is finally a light at the end of this long, dark tunnel.
This is my 2nd life list of accomplishments of survival:
- 5 years ago, due to the stress from being at the peak of my first life, and the comorbidities I was not yet aware of, I lost everything I had going for me. High paying software job, solo condo living, 6 year relationship, multiple social circles, losing over 100lbs in weight). I nearly committed suicide, but I survived, quit my job, moved back in with parents, and started my mental health journey. This was the beginning of my 2nd life.
- Since then, I went through years of non-adhd psychiatrists, therapists, misdiagnosis', a plethora of medications, and unemployment, living off of $500/month income support. Also a toxic family dynamic of manipulation, invalidation, minimization, etc. (which I was completely unaware of at the time). I relied on my addictions of weed, gaming, porn, sexually impulsive acts, binge eating, and cutting myself to prevent suicide.
- I discovered Russell Barkleys "snapshot of ADHD symptoms checklist" 2 years ago, and it convinced my psychiatrist to put me on Vyvanse, which kickstarted my adhd journey. Since then, I have been sober from alcohol and caffeine to this day, and researching whatever I can about this disorder.
- Vyvanse effectiveness wore off after 4 months, and my parents gave me covid after they came back from a vacation. This happened at the same time that I was dealing with really bad side effects of suicidality/depression when trying out secondary medications. This was one of the lowest points of my life, and I reached an epiphany after watching this video. . I knew I had to get officially diagnosed instead of constantly guessing.
- I was officially diagnosed with severe ADHD combined-type in Aug 2, 2022 at 33 years old, and started the process of building a team of specialists.
- I found my current adhd-specialized therapist in October, and she has kept me alive while I was on the waiting list for an ADHD med specialist. I tried communicating with family about the risks of ADHD, about how its genetic, and how it could improve our lives dramatically. No one believed me or listened.
- finally got in with a med specialist in December, and the switch from Vyvanse to methylphenidate was a MASSIVE improvement to my brain and overall awareness. Unfortunately, these medication trials also unveiled/clarified my trauma responses, comorbidities, masking, and the years of emotional abuse and control my family/friends had over me.
- The past 5 months, I applied for disability benefit support, taxes, rTMS treatment (suggested by therapist). My med specialist gave up on me after I reached max dosage of methylphenidate, and I was still experiencing bad anxiety + emotional dysregulation. He said I had to figure it out with my psychiatrist.
- This last month has been HUGE. I finalized my medications, 80mg Biphentin for dopamine levels, 25mg atomoxotine for norepinephrine levels, I'm now 1 month sober from weed. I can now stay calm and be aware of manipulation occurring. I reached out to 2 newer friends I know I can trust and they offered me a bed if things get bad. I'm now aware of my family sabotaging my sleep. I am now aware that they monitor, eavesdrop on me constantly, and don't respect my boundaries, despite my constant attempts at communicating them. My food portions have halved. Morning, nightly, and exercise routines are slowly starting to stick. I'm going for walks on trails in PUBLIC, despite the rejection sensitivity and body dysmorphia.
- 2 days ago, I've been accepted into a 30 day rTMS treatment program. There will be tests, bloodwork, physical, motor functioning tests. I'm getting so much help and care that I've never been able to find before, and I haven't been this excited for my future in decades.

I just want to be treated with normal indifference, not have my sexuality brought up every 10 minutes. Signs in the store, commercials at the movies, ALL of social media. The constant corporate pandering from companies who don't actually care. Being treated like a political football in the news.
I get that we in the LGBTQ+ community have to continually right for our rights, and I'm not diminishing that. But true off my chest, the attention makes me uncomfortable.

The online shops I see in Spain and the EU in general don't have nearly as much variety and high quality as other shops do in other countries like the US, Canada, the UK, etc., so I'd love to be able to offer a wider range of crystals and higher quality crystals to not only the Spanish crystal market, but also the EU-based market (hopefully if things go well). I've talked to an EU-based crystal seller who told me that it was very difficult to find wholesalers shipping to the EU, and the import/customs taxes are high. I was wondering if anyone here knows of any credible and ethical crystal wholesalers based in the EU or shipping to the EU that I could talk to. Or if anyone has experience setting up an online shop/online crystal shop in Spain/EU willing to talk to me about their journey! I've been feeling called to wear my moldavite for the past few days, and something feels different--maybe big change and growth are coming:)

Hello! Hope everyone is doing ok. I am attending the University on a 3 month research contract, which does not include housing. As such I am looking for housing starting from July for 3 months. I have asked literally everywhere for studio/1 bedroom apartments and the minimum lease period is 6 months to a year.
