We met 1 year ago in her country and have seen each other in person for 1 week every 2-3 months. A couple of weeks ago, before I went on a solo roadtrip, I thought it would be a good idea to define the relationship. I was definitely open to try to make it a proper relationship (and could secretly already imagine me living with her), but she made it clear that for her this was not serious.
During my roadtrip I realised I can't dial down my feelings for her, so the best way forward for me would be to break up. I did so on Monday through video call. For her it came out of nowhere, especially because before my roadtrip we were talking about me coming to her in June, and she started the call telling me she'd be busy but I'm definitely welcome. It was over pretty quick, and I forgot 99% of everything I wanted to say.
I went full no-contact: removed from social media, deleted all pictures, deleted the app we used to call.
Yesterday the doorbell rang and I received a registered shipment I had to sign. Turns out it was a speed delivered letter from her. In the letter she thanks me for our time together, that with my help she started to fall in love with her body, and that our time together was like a fairy tale. Then she talks about how she cried all Monday night, cried because she couldn't understand how she let a man like me get away. She cried because she doesn't understand how she can't get more involved faster or can't take risk. That she felt she failed us both by not trying. And that she respects that I took my life in my own hands, but she feels guilty because our story doesn't have a happy ending. And if only she could, she would kiss me one more time and wish me all the best.
It's a beautiful letter, one that I've read at least a hundred times by now. She owed me a letter during our time together (because I sent her one before), so that's why she didn't send it as an email or anything.
I'm not sure what to do right now. I talked about it with friends, and some say to stay no-contact and move on. Others say to at least send her a thank you back. Some even say that she's basically saying she wants to try something serious, and I should think about trying it.
I'm torn between sending her one last voice message (she loved my voice messages), where I thank her for the letter and for our time together and keeping full no-contact. Thoughts?

Graphics/artstyle: dark and realistic enough for a low end pc game, although I have played this game in the 2010s, the artstyle does looks like something from the 2000s, plus I remember there being a green main menu similar to IGI's main menu with scifi cool looking font
Notable characters: Swat like looking solider who is standing outside of the car in the intro of the game, random flying robots and mechs?, Evil scientist who appeared in a boss fight, piloting a robot
Notable gameplay mechanics: The game itself was in third person, although it might have had levels, since I remember a boss fight, the game felt like an endless runner mobile game, the gameplay itself was our batmobile like car driving on an highway on a destroyed post apocalyptic city while you could manuever left or right, there weren't any turns, this is where the game felt like an endless runner, the gameplay consisted of using wsad to steer the car and shooting flying enemies with a target reticle(maybe you aimed with the mouse) with pressing spacebar(or maybe with the left click), I remember there being a cooldown mechanic so if I were to hold spacebar to consistently fire at the enemies, my gun would overheat leaving me vulnerable, I remember exploiting this by continuously tapping the spacebar so my gun wouldn't overheat😅, I remember a boss fight with an evil scientist? Maybe character who was flying in a robot above me, I remember I couldn't beat him and quit the game, that boss would drop so many mines at me that I remember rage quitting it, plus that boss fight had a huge health bar that appeared at the bottom of the screen
Other details: I remember there being a huge text crawl at the start of the game that said something like this:" in the future robots and machines decimated earth and left the surviving humans fighting for their lives " the text crawl was way longer but I have no idea what it said afterwards, the main menu was an IGI esque green text box with selectable options and the background being our batman car driving on the highway with the camera going on circles around it, I remember a few basic options like playing with the controls and an option to change the color of the car, which felt weird to me at the time because we were a surviving human and paint job was still a priority🤣, other than that I remember there might or might not be a made with unity logo at the start of the game, thus contributing to the mobile game atmosphere, the game's post apocalyptic aesthetic was more cyberpunk and robotic like terminator and a lot less like mad max if it helps
The final thing is the fact that the game's title might be a two word generic title, so I hope anyone recognizes this and thanks to anyone for reading and commenting

Creepy crawly creepy crawly spider...
Creepy crawly - tendrils. More like tentacles!
Oh, ok, maybe a spider plant doesn’t have tendrils, technically speaking, let alone tentacles. But these leaves are starting to look real creepy, in any case.
Yes - this spider plant I can’t get rid of. I’ve tried, although in a rather half-hearted way I must admit. And I don’t have it in me to just rip it to pieces with my bare hands.
I put it out on the front porch during a week of almost non-stop rain and wind, waiting for it to be killed or at least badly damaged by outside forces and do you know it just lapped it all up and totally refused to succumb.
Well...I admit I didn’t put it too far out. The softie in me prevented that.
Why am I so hung up about a damned spider plant? Why do I feel like I have to get rid of it? And after it’s been with me for over thirty years, too! And it’s never done anything to me. Has it? Only just grew and grew, like plants are supposed to do. And here I am with wicked designs upon its life. But I just don’t want it in the house. There’re way too many plants as it is.
All my life people have been giving me plants. I don’t know why. There must be something about me that screams subconsciously that of all the things in the world the thing I need most desperately is a plant. And that intensifies at Christmas-time, and I get all these exquisitely-wrapped, ultra-refined, super-delicate, extra-brightly coloured things requiring the utmost care. And I’m not particularly cut out for looking after plants. I don’t have green fingers. I don’t have any patience to speak of, and I tell people I don’t want any plants. It just goes to show that people never really listen to you I guess. At least plants are better than people in that respect. They don’t make any pretence of listening to you.
Anyway the result is that I’ve ended up with a whole houseful of the things. They don’t pay any attention to the fact that I can’t look after them properly and go on flourishing. These aren’t just houseplants, they’re taking-over-the-house-plants. Crowding me out of my own home. That monster of a cheeseplant for example, looming over my bed. Honestly I’ve lost count of of the number of times I’ve cut it down to size (literally) and replanted and given away cuttings and still the thing just grows and grows. Same thing goes for the yucca.
But that spider plant. Sitting out there and refusing even to wilt. I could never kill any plant in cold blood, but how I wish it would just do the decent thing and die slowly, now that I’ve put it out there! But it is one tough customer.
There. I’ve moved it further out ... but really, I do feel a brute. Waging an unprovoked war against the plant kingdom which just looks back at me silently, impassively...reproachfully?
Aren’t I being ridiculous. It doesn’t mind me, right?
Even so ...
It does look a bit battered, I admit, but it’s still VERY much alive.
What if it never dies?
What if it outlasts me?. That’d be rich. Or ironic, or something.
Or what if it does die and it then it comes back to haunt me? To wreak its revenge?

Well, I’ve brought it back in.
Really, this whole plant business is getting me down.
I don’t want them around any more. And I’ve tried giving them away but generally people don’t take them. Even when I offer them absolutely free. You’d think that people’d jump at the chance of getting anything for free, especially a nice new glossy plant to brighten up their deadly dull, hideously designed living rooms. But no. And then that one time when I had the bright idea of carting them all off to a local plant sale. And guess what! Not one of them sold! Not one! I was too discouraged to ever try such a thing again. It just seems like fate.
And I have a nasty feeling that even if I did succeed in giving one of them away it’d somehow find its way back, like a homing pigeon or a fiendishly faithful dog or something of the sort.
You see? These damn things are making me superstitious now.
I really must snap out of it...
Look at them, though. All standing together like they were whispering. Whispering about me, no doubt! As if they were conspiring against me, to oust me from my own home.
Of course, I’m REALLY being ridiculous now. I realize that. I’m still sane..if only just.
Too much time to think and ponder about things I regret, and all that. And no-one for company but the plants. Warm, green living things. The forgotten link with nature, ‘to one who has been too long in city pent’ ... silly bits of poetry coming to mind now. That was one of the Romantics, wasn’t it? They were always banging on about that stuff.
Oh dear. I wish I had something else to focus my mind.
They are creeping me out , though, these plants. Even though I know they can’t really be plotting against me, or anything crazy like that. I mustn’t start imagining things. I guess they’ve just been reading that silly book too much. The one I lent them. That old Wyndham yarn The Day of the Triffids. I just thought they’d enjoy reading a book about plants taking over the world and all. But of course I explained to them it’s only fiction. They’d understand that, I’m sure.
But what if they start getting ideas? I mean, really?
And just to look at them - they definitely look as if they're all crowding round together, discussing something.
Me?
Are they planning to get rid of me?
Not my dear old houseplants ...
But even if they are, why am I being such a pussy about it?
I can get back at them too, can't I? They're just ... plants.
You know - I could even try to ...
... eat them, maybe ....
I haven't eaten in so long, just worrying about my goddam houseplants, but now, come to think of it, they do look rather tasty ....

Momma never had to tell me to eat my greens, I just did - automatically. I used to eat the houseplants as well, come to think of it, and I could never understand why she told me off for that. It's not like they made me sick or anything.
Maybe I am one of them, really ...
I never even thought of that!
Maybe this resentment I've felt against them is just because I'm trying to deny my true identity, or something. And these days you can identify as just about anything, can't you?
Well, anyways. I'm ready for them if they come for me.

It's started!
They tried to ambush me as I was leaving the room. I felt one of those tendrils curling round my ankle which made me lose my balance and fall sprawling to the floor. I can't get away.
They're looming in over me.
It's the crisis. Maybe, finally, I really do have to face up to what I really am ....
If I can just make them understand I'm one of them .... then surely they'll let me go.
But if not - well, I've still got that piece of cutlery in one hand ....

I realize this is a bit late. I suppose this is my public declaration that u/wolven91 can post my stories wherever. I just wanted to get this part out before the sub froze. I hope to write more, however I'm not a big fan of Tumblr, so I won't be making an account. If the Discord seems viable then I'll probably haunt that, but otherwise I'll have to figure out where to post. However this shakes out, y'all have fun and have a good one.

David loved the rain. Growing up in a desert, he loved the smell that’d come off the dirt and how the overcast skies shielded the sun-bleached streets and buildings from the blinding star. He’d spend hours sitting at a coffee shop listening to music and watching the cars drive through the puddles. The rain was nothing short of miraculous. If it made it over the wall of mountains blocking David from the ocean, the rain would knock all the dust and smog out of the air revealing a crystal-clear view of all the mountains down the valley. The parched dirt greedily drank it up and sat still, free from the gusting winds. Then the next day, the brown hills and mountainsides would turn a bright vibrant green. It brought him a measure of peace.
The shuttle shuddered slightly as it passed through the atmosphere, windows becoming blocked by dark grey clouds. This planet was permanently overcast. Tons of water circled the globe, floating on the currents of air, speeding from one horizon to the other frequently dousing the surface with heavy showers. David couldn’t help a small grin sticking to his face. It’d been years since he’d seen rain.
“It’s about an hour till touchdown.” Reported the pilot over the intercom.
David turned his attention away from the windows. The shuttle reminded him of an airport bus someone threw into space, complete with cheap upholstery. It was thankfully empty save for himself and his two companions. He glanced left at Ruk’sa who was fast asleep in her chair. She stayed up all night with David, but it seems she’s not quite as used to sleep deprivation as he is. She stirred slightly, tucking her legs up under her and wrapping her tail around herself. Sarif was livid when David asked the fik to come with him, but calmed down somewhat when he explained he wanted someone to keep an eye on his apartment while he was gone.
He looked to his right at Hilda who had been studying him, pad forgotten in her lap. “Enjoying the view?” she asked gesturing to the windows.
“I love the rain.” He answered with his small smirk still in place.
“Really?
“Yeah…It always put me in a good mood back home. It sort of…refreshed me, I guess.” Hilda pondered her next question before David interrupted, “You like the rain?”
“Uh, um…I suppose so. It depends.”
“On what?”
“On how strong the storm was. If it was light rain, I didn’t mind. It was good for the crops and gave us all a reason to take it easy. No one wanted to work in the rain. But if it was a major storm…Well, then we were all worried about the damage it could cause. If there was lightning it could start a fire…”
“Crops? You’re a farm girl?”
He could see her mentally kick herself as she drew a slow breath, “Yes…I’m a farm girl…”
“I guess that explains why you look corn fed.” He mumbled.
“Corn fed?”
“Don’t worry about it. You look great. Like a brick shithouse.”
Her brows knit in confused thought. “That sounds worse.”
He chuckled then, “You look good. I promise.” They settled into silence for a while, broken by Hilda.
“What was home like?”, she asked softly.
David leaned back and took a breath, “What was it like?...Home, I guess…” He looked at his companion’s inquisitive look and sighed. “It was mostly a desert…Hot…But a paradise…The sun always shone, and the temperature was always bearable. We had beaches, snowy mountains, vast fertile plains, giant magnificent forests, and huge stretches of desert. That’s not even counting all the different cities and people. Whatever you could want, it was there…It wasn’t perfect. I hated it plenty of times…Seems a bit silly now…But, now I realize just how amazing it was…” He stared out the window, eyes unfocused.
“Was that the whole planet?”
“What? No. That was just my state. The rest of the planet had a lot more going on… You gotta remember it took a little more effort to travel before…Yeah…Especially where I lived…”
Hilda had hundreds more questions but could tell he was growing uncomfortable. She tried to shift gears, “If you really like the starshine, why do you love the rain?”
He collected his words, “It was always sunny…A bit too hot for my taste…So, the rain was a nice change of pace. It was rare…A lot of other humans hate the rain, but I think that’s just because they grew up in places where it always rained…Most people I knew who grew up without rain loved it.”
“Five till touchdown.”, reported the pilot.
Ruk’sa was roused from her nap as the shuttle shuddered slightly and swung down from the clouds. It gracefully flew through the valley to the designated landing point where it slowly landed beside half a dozen other shuttles of various makes and sizes. The trio stood and made their way out led by David.
He descended the short ramp and strode through the parked shuttles. Emerging into the open he looked toward the Guardian waiting area. There were a couple of those big bastards, a couple canids, an avian and-
He screwed his eyes shut and shook his head. His companions looked where he had. Ruk’sa put her hand on his shoulder and asked, “You want Ruk’sa to-“
“No. No, just go wait with the others…And make sure that thing doesn’t slither up the hill.”
Ruk’sa squeezed his shoulder as Hilda gave a disapproving sigh, before the duo strode off toward the other Guardians. Keeping his sight on anywhere but the gathered aliens, David started hiking up the hill.
The hill sat in the middle of a long valley covered in a bright green, almost luminescent grass, with gnarled trees dotting the hillsides. The ground beneath David gave a little with each step threatening to devolve into a muddy slurry, but the rain died down, seemingly aware of the ceremony. Breathing heavily, he finally crested the hill to find a handful of other humans.
It was shocking. He hadn’t seen another human since…Since…He couldn’t remember…Was it really since he was still a slave? The half dozen or so humans milled about the gravesite. A metal casket adorned the mockup above the grave. It wasn’t right. Sure, it was a box meant to hold a corpse, but it just seemed…off…Too bulky.
David focused on the other humans. A small group of two noticed his arrival, so he made his way over to them, straightening the subtle wrinkles in his shirt and slacks. A man and a woman greeted him as he walked up.
“Hello there!” called the man, “I thought we were supposed to have one more. How are you? Have a smooth trip?”
David could tell the man wasn’t speaking English. “Fair enough. I got the invite a bit late. Had to make a bunch of last-minute plans.”
“Sorry to hear that.” said the woman, “At least you made it. Did you know the deceased?”
“No…I thought it was strange to get the invitation, but well…If he wanted me here, I guess I could spare the time.” He noticed the other two were eyeing him strangely. He cleared his throat, “So, did either of you know him?”
“No…I don’t think anyone did. I guess he…or whoever carried out his will, just looked up the closest humans in the system and invited them. At least they were discreet.”
David didn’t understand the need for discretion, but agreed anyway, “Right…Wouldn’t want just anyone showing up.” The other two seemed confused, but quickly recovered.
“Say…” the woman began, “Do I know you?”
David shook his head, “No, I don’t think so. I don’t get out much.”
“No, I know you.” She began typing on her com, “…Hah! Is this you?” She held it up for David to see.
A vid began playing of an all too familiar back room of an all too familiar café. It showed David from the rear singing into a mic. Eyes closed in emotional concentration, “Fly me to the Moon, let me play among the stars. Let me see what spring is like, on Jupiter and Mars.” He swayed and danced slightly, enough to get a good look at his face. David stared at the video slack jawed until the end where a pair of felinoid fingers surreptitiously retrieved the recording com.
“So, it is you! I thought I recognized you.” She seemed pleased. David was a bit heartbroken. “What’s the matter? You sound wonderful.”
“I…I…”
“Say! Can you sing for the service? We don’t have anyone, and it just seems right…Could you?”
David was conflicted. Still reeling. He wasn’t betrayed exactly…He never asked to not be recorded, but this…How many people saw?...He shook himself from his reverie. “What?”
“Could you sing a hymn or two? Mr. Albrecht wanted a traditional funeral. So, that would mean a song or two, right?”
He thought for a moment. All he wanted to do was show face. Maybe see a couple humans and reconnect, but…Well… “I guess I could…I’ve done a couple funerals before…” He looked between the two and answered, “Alright…Just let me know when to go up…”
They shook his hand and patted him on the shoulder before going and finding the preacher. He could see them talking and pointing in his direction before he found a seat beside the casket facing the front. Everyone else found a seat as the older man at the front addressed the gathering.
“Welcome. Thank you all for coming. I am chaplain Richard Martinez, and I will be leading and delivering the eulogy today. Unfortunately, Mr. Albrecht’s family could not attend, however I would like to thank all of you in attendance. I know coming together as one people is a challenge, but Mr. Albrecht and I thank you for your sacrifice. We are gathered here today to mourn the loss and celebrate the life of Mortimer Albrecht. During our tumultuous journey to the stars, and diaspora among its people, we lost a small sense of our joint humanity. We split and spread out to the four winds in a bid for self-preservation. But now we come together. We join one another to recognize a fellow brother and son of Earth. We come together to give final rights and recognition to the deceased that they are truly human, and we will not forget or abandon them to the cold uncaring void of space. Mr. Albrecht was born on Earth and believed in the unstoppable spirit and drive of humanity. We share this belief with all of you. Those who answered the call. Those who believed in the brotherhood of humanity. That our spirit is strong and unbreaking. That humanity will one day walk in the sun, unafraid and proud of who we are. That we will one day stand before the other races of the galaxy as an equal. Please join me in prayer as we put the spirit of Mortimer Albrech to rest. For those who practice, please bow your head and join me in prayer, and for those who don’t, please observe a respectful silence.
Dear Lord, we come before you to humbly ask that you guide Mr. Albrecht swiftly and surly to your eternal peace. That you guard and guide his spirit as surely as you guide our own. In your name we pray, amen. Now we will turn our time over to a special guest who has volunteered to sing a hymn or two.” He gestured to David in his seat.
David stood and made his way to the front of the casket and faced the small crowd. He cleared his throat and began, “Good morning. I’m David King, and I’ll sing a couple of traditional songs. You are welcome to sing along if you know the words.”
He cleared his throat, took a breath and began, “Amazing grace. How sweet the sound…”
He sang clearly and steadily, as his voice rang out through the narrow valley, keeping his hand folded in front of him. A couple of the attendees sang quietly with him, but David remained steady. Focused on the task at hand. He may not have known the man, but that was no excuse to disrespect him. He noticed the woman from before sitting in the back of the crowd, recording his performance. He considered protesting, but today wasn’t about him. Besides, what harm could it do?
When ‘Amazing Grace’ was done he went straight into ‘Danny boy.’ About that time the attendees grew misty-eyed. “You’ll bend down and tell me that you love me. And I shall rest in peace until you come to me.”
Even the preacher-man seemed reluctant to say anything, so David continued. “This next song…Means a lot to me…It got me…and others through a particularly hard time. If Samuel is somewhere out there. This is for us.” He planted himself, breathed, and began. “When peace, like a river, atendeth my way. When sorrows like sea billows roll. Whatever my lot, thou has taught me to say, it is well, it is well, with my soul…”
David hadn’t thought of that hymn in years. The memories weren’t pleasant, but it seemed appropriate at the time. Chaplin Martinez made his way up beside David and put his hand on his shoulder. “Thank you. We all appreciated that. This concludes the service for Mr. Albrecht. Go in peace.”
The tiny congregation stood a milled about before making their way back down the hill. David stayed behind to wait out the snake’s charge, looking over the casket and simple gravestone. He had hoped to maybe make some kind of connection, but the humans dispersed without so much as a word. He was alone again. And he didn’t know why.
After a time, there were only a couple shuttles left. The casket had been let down with a couple chains, and the Guardians had dispersed with their humans. David shambled down the hill and met his companions.
“Ready to go?”
“I guess.”
“You sounded beautiful.”
“You could hear that?”
Hilda nodded.
“Thanks…I try…” They boarded the shuttle and took off. David wondered if it was even worth it.

Sammuel was making his rounds through the station. The children loved him, and the parents loved the break. He stood in the middle of the park entertaining and answering questions. The dark-skinned man loved any opportunity to give back to the community that took him in. The dark-skinned man was keeping watch over some ursdain children when he heard something that caught his attention.
“When sorrows like sea billows roll.”
He sought out the youngster with the vid loaded on his com, “Hey. Could you do me a favor and show me that?”
The ssypno child seemed confused, but complied, “You know this song?”
“Whatever my lot, you have taught me to say, it is well, it is well, with my soul.”
He watched the screen intently, his jovial attitude sobering somewhat. “I know that song…I know that man…” He watched intently the man who helped him through the hardest part of his life. “You have any idea where that is?” The child of course didn’t know. “Well…I’m gonna have to find him on my own…”

When a jungler build tank items it's all gone, fine at least, but when Martis tank build it is not, because to counter tank jungler you need to CC them and have penetration, well for Martis it doesn't work like that, because he has CC immunity and even if you have penetration you would be able to use it much especially if you're a marksmen because he'll just CC you and kill you with his ult (which is TRUE DAMAGE btw). All I'm saying is this tank meta thingy has to stop, it's just not fun to play the game anymore because of it.

For having a high wr in ranked matches, melissa deserves a nerf, especially on her doll. Melissa can easily dominate her counterpart. With only corrosion scythe, she can melt anyone without vengeance. Also, her doll has a low cd but has range longer than layla. Also note that it benefits the same BA effects as melissa. The slow, after being linked which is 60% for 1.5seconds, should be nerfed since it is already difficult to get away from her doll's range, which is big. Thus, I suggest you nerf her doll's passive effects and its range.

Title: Martis Remodel Survey
I just saw a remodel survey for Martis and as someone playing this hero for 4 years (and he's my favorite hero with everything he has from design to voice) I literally can't even stand his new survey. In my opinion his new design just killed the soul and character of his. His character is cold blooded yet arrogant but also a stylish war-lord where as his new design looks like more of an animal and not in a good way. His long hair and aesthetic of his swords and style was unique yet the new one is just gatotkaca in black. He may be a guy who only lives to fight yet his design used to make him a unique war seeking guy. I think Mobile Legends: Adventure design was just right. It simplified Martis yet managed to keep his soul and and always looking down on someone character in his design. Please at least bring back his hair and shoes. That guy on the survey just isn't Martis I know and love. Thank you.

Title: Highlights in Android
I noticed that in iOS, the highlights has smooth and stable FPS and has better transition every kills. However, in Android, the highlight somehow has very small fps, it looks so slow and the quality is low. I don't think it's my phone's problem since my phone is Xiaomi 12T (Dimensity 8100), which I believe is fair enough to run heavy games and do heavy tasks. Highlights in Android devices needs further optimization.

Imagine having to play with yellow ping, 120ms to 140ms everyday, please it's so difficult and hard, some heroes don't even work well like Lapu Lapu and Fredrinn, skills doesn't register, skill delay, slow gameplay sometimes I wonder why I put myself through this or what's the point of being in this game again, I have managed to push to mythic honor , but it's not worth it, it has been hellish, even playing against indigenous server players with 5ms to 40ms , how is this fair, even the players there don't give a damn about the yellow ping, the game too doesn't give a damn, I am being honest here, at this point if I find another moba game with green ping, I won't hesitate to move, please moonton, rethink about our region again, and about our server, please, it was fun,more popular and fair, everyone was happy unlike now, it's just not worth it, please Moonton, no one was complaining before, you have seen several complaints about this server,please just bring it back

Title: Worst Season So Far
Idk if anyone feel this. But S28 is the worst season ever. The matchmaking is absolutely unfair. This is my first time playing over 130 matches to reach mythic. While from S4 - S27 it only took around 60 matches. If the enemy is good I'll be fine but giving idgaf typa teammate? Hell no. As a solo player / soloQ this is really frustrating. Please pair the matchmaking with same range of winrate. Why did I always get team of 40-50% winrate while I have 70%?

Reply: From the overall situation, the average number of Season 28 Mythic's rank games is more than that of Season 27. However, we found that some players use an abnormally high number of games to join Mythic ranks. We will conduct an in-depth analysis of this part of the abnormal phenomenon. Hi, I know it sounds like a dumb question, but I really don't have any idea about working as lab techs in the states especially in Texas.
I am Korean and have been working in South Korea as a lab tech (MLS) for around 10 years. I am currently working in the US Army hospital in South Korea. I recently got my ASCPi license, and I am waiting for my green card to move to Bryan, Texas. I have never lived in the states. The hospitals I know in Texas are Baylor Scott & White and MD Anderson. Are they the best employers for lab techs in Texas? How much I can ask for hour rate?
I also saw a job add states '7 to 7 night shift with signing bonus 15K'. I have never seen 7 to 7 night shift in Korea. Seems like working 7 nights straightly is too tough... How much would you ask for your hourly rate if you had 10 years experience?
I might be ended up applying jobs around Bryan because I don't want to drive too far. At the same time, I feel like I am giving opportunities up if I only search jobs around this small town. Do big cities like Houston, Dallas, Austin have better work environment? (Payment, lab facilities, study cases...)

Hi everyone, hope you’re all having a nice Saturday! i’m writing here cos i’m encountering an issue with my P900 — haven’t used it for a bit, and i used to move pictures on my old Macbook (ca. 2016) via SD or USB cable.
I now have a new Macbook with stupid USB-C and no SD port, so I can only use the P900’s cable with an adapter which makes it USB-C. The issue: when I plug the P900 in, nothing happens on my Macbook (M1, 2020). Camera is completely undetected on finder, and even if I turn it on (green led blinking) nothing happens on either end.
It’s quite a big issue as my camera is full and unusable unless I empty it.
It would be fantastic if someone had any idea how to figure it out!
since the issue is with a Macbook Pro, it might also be that I have to share this post on a different community so feel free to let me know if i’m in the wrong place!

Hello everyone, first of all I want to ask you not to tell me I can do it, I cant. I am trying to lose the extra 30kg I got for over 2 years now. I cannot stop overeating. When I was a child I had barely any food in my life and what I had never changed, so I was eating only when hunger pushed me to do it, maybe once a day. Since I can afford food now, everything is exicting to me, and I love it but I also cannot control myself. I now have almost 100kgs and my ideal weight is 59-67kgs. I am motivated but when I see food I cannot control myself.
Do you have any ideas of some not harmful meds that can help with this? I tried some natural green tea based meds that were suppoused to cut down your appetite but they did absolutely nothing

To that I say. I used to be a mod for Moonpissing, that should be enough I'm not right in the head.
In all seriousness. Think about what this game is doing. Its experimenting with new gimmicks. It's not going to have Greenhill. There are roll physics! Fucking Fang is back in an important role.
Its like. My main issue I had with classic Sonic was that it felt like pandering after Generations. That the whole thing was "Genesis Sonic = Money". This feels like they looked at Classic Sonic, and instead of just leaving at that. They actually went "How could we make it better?". A great example is there is a scene from thr trailer that looks like the various minigames from the old games. Specifically the emerald collection game from Sonic 1. Only in this. It actually looks like a fun maze and not luck random bullshit. Same for what appears to be the falling minigame from Chaotix. I like the added thing of using a tether to gain height and quickly change trajectory. Its a great nod to the ring tether. (Also stop baiting us SEGA first the soundtrack, then the channel art, now this. Can we please have Knuckles Chaotix remake or at least an accessible port). I like it because they didn't just get the best of classic Sonic games. They also got the worst (well not worst, but would you say those are your fave parts?) Then went upon improving it.
There's also the powerups. I'm liking it so far. Now granted I am having flashbacks to Colors. I'm hoping its a case of "opptional but harder route that rewards experienced players with faster routes" and not just "use gimmick to get to point B". This to me, is a risk. They could easily not put anything like this. Stick with the elemental shields and be done. Instead they include abilities that let you walk on the walls of the background. I'm looking forward to the skips that can be done.
Too kinda wrap this up. I love the modern games. I'm replaying them. The Chaotix are still my favorites, and I'm trying to 100 percent Heroes. Its had me think about what i'd want for a sequal to either Heroes or Adventure. Honestly. I do no not want SA3.
I want what this game is doing to Classic Sonic. I want the soul of a modern game. The large playable cast. The multiple gameplay styles. A big overarching story. FUCKING VECTOR, ESPIO, CHARMY, CREAM, BLAZE, SILVER, ROUGE, OMEGA BEING PLAYABLE IN A BIG WAY. A real big hurrah for fans that grew up during the Gamecube era.
Superstars is how I imagine SEGA and Sonic Team should listen to fans. Take advice on shit like "We are tired of GreenHill", "We miss physics based platforming""Amy Rose playable" . Also not being afraid to experiment and take risks.

Talking about the zipper incident reminds me of my sojourn with Security Platoon.
We were tasked with guardianship of the most sensitive installations on Base. Which gives rise to consideration of the makeup of that platoon, personnel-wise.
A number of our number we’re awaiting adjudication of charges serious enough to have had them removed from their parent units and warehoused with us so as to be put to Some use in the interim. The wheels of military Justice could grind rather slowly sometimes. Might take months to get to the actual Court-Marshall proceedings.
The Platoon Sgt himself was awaiting Court-Marshall for having struck an Officer. A nice way of saying he’d knocked a certain Lt on his ass after that person had, through ineptitude, needlessly endangered some of his men. I discussed the matter with SSgt K, and he claimed, in his cheerful fashion, that there had been extenuating circumstances: “The sonofabitch had it comin,.” He didn’t seem unduly concerned about the outcome.
Others still had already had their cases adjudicated, and were in the process of being processed out.
Still others were in similar circumstances for various and sundry matters.
And then there were some, like myself at that time, who were in between assignments, and assigned there until someone figured out what the hell to do with us.
I myself would, if I chose to accept it, eventually be offered the mission of Independent Duty in a small City in Deep South Texas that none of us had ever heard of. A new start-up Marine Reserve unit was being staffed, and needed an armorer. I wasn’t one, but that an unimportant detail.
It had progressed with the Gunny, a SSgt, and myself poring over a road atlas spread out upon a desk, just trying to Find the damn place:
“Is that it?” Staff finally asked, tapping his finger on the small dot. “…..Nah, can’t be - that’s in fucking Mexico.”
“Are you blind as well as stupid, Shithead?” from Gunny. “It ain’t neither in Mexico!”
“I’m tellin’ you it Is!”
“Look again. It Ain’t! Not quite, anyway. Looks like you could piss across the border from there, though……. So whaddaya say, young Sgt OP? It’s yours if you want it.”
I accepted the mission. Would sometimes, in the months that followed, fervently wish I had not. But it was where I met Momma, so it all worked out in the end.
But that was later. For now, I was the new Sgt assigned to Security Plt, where I and one other would actually run the show under the benevolent, Officer-assaulting guidance of SSgt K.
And the Marine Corps, in all its wisdom, had thought it a good idea to arm and set to watchdogging the most sensitive installations on base the worst criminals on base (like SSgt K). Fuck me. Perhaps it was felt that they would have less problem with using deadly force if called upon to do so. I do not know.
But you know, to a man, they turned out to be a great bunch of guys. We got along. Of course, I’d previously been a bigger criminal than some of them for an extended period of time. But I’d never gotten caught. That can make a Huge difference.
One incident, among others, stands out for the degree of fuckupery to which we in leadership did fuck up.
In the duty office, we had a heavy floor safe. Inside it we stored the ammunition that we would issue to our jailbirds-to-be (some of them) when they went on post. Ammunition properly issued and carefully accounted for.
But then there were the extras we’d added to our inventory ourselves. Or at least, SSgt K had. We had a Lot more ammo than we were supposed to have, with no paper trail or authorization.
And the half a case of grenades we weren’t supposed to have at all, of course. Where and how K got his hands on those, I have no idea. But no matter. No one would know.
Until a surprise inspection one day, to which the three of us were invited to attend. And, of course, the contraband was quickly discovered.
Neither I nor the other Sgt were charged. K was the man in charge, and so the onus fell on him. And he now had some new charges to face. His explanation that “Well, we’re responsible for protecting all that shit, and you never know when we might need it” was not well-received.
But as he told us, in his usual unconcerned manner: “Ah, fuck it! What more they gonna do to me anyway, you know?”

I've been here for 8 months now, and a majority of the people have entered another rat race just after finishing one. Almost everyone wants a career in coding/finance/consulting, blind to every other opportunity in other areas. Wanted to make a post for people writing JEE this year and would be submitting branch preferences.
So I'm gonna get started now

1. CSE - The most obvious opportunities are in development (Microsoft/Google/Adobe, etc.), however, there is one more giant coming up now - AI. There's a lot of AI research going on, as you know. The government, with its current policy of reducing dependency on foreign powers, would be looking to develop its own LLMs, etc. The first place they would look is in the tier-1 institutes, IISc, IITs, and BITS. You guys would be the ones developing this, so look at the huge prospects here.
2. ECE/EEE/EnI - most underrated. Everyone here grumbles about the course difficulty, which is understandable but do have a look at the opportunities in hand
   1. The Government is set to reach net zero by 2070, thus there will be a huge demand for solar panels and the like. Moreover, China has a monopoly on solar panel tech, and thus with the ongoing sentiment among companies to reduce China dependency, would be looking for talent elsewhere.
   2. FAME scheme to boost local EV design and Manufacturing, along with laying the enormous charging infra for the same
   3. In the AI Goldrush, NVIDIA supplied the shovels (AI Chips), briefly becoming the first semiconductor company to reach 1 Trillion USD evaluation. Do you know that NVIDIA holds a near monopoly over AI Chip Technology, thus other companies would be frantically looking for talented engineers.
   4. Smart grid integration will require a huge amount of skilled engineers.
   5. I can keep listing endlessly but you get the idea right, there's a ton of gold up for grabs
3. Mech/Manufacturing - another underrated one. Thought to be dead till recently, has some sick opportunities coming up
   1. Most important is the space race, with countries and companies looking to colonize the next frontier, there will be a lot of demand here. With the Indian Govt. opening up space to private agencies, lot of companies will be coming up and thus, the first places to hunt for talent are tier-1 institutes.
   2. Defense - Govt is looking to become a net exporter of arms, a very ambitious goal considering that we aren't even among the top 25 exporters. You guessed it, there would be a lot of demand for skilled engineers. With defense startups popping up quite frequently, good opportunity here to become a big company.
      1. Another point to note here is, we are importing a lot of hi-tech equipment like Rafale jets, and the like from foreign nations like Russia, France, etc. We would need to develop the technology indigenously which requires considerable expertise.
   3. Make in India - there's been a lot of hype around this, and it seems to go pretty okay as well but such an ambitious project obviously would have a lot of areas of concern like this. Whoever comes up with the best solutions, billions are Up for grabs for them.
   4. Manufacturing in particular has one more area to capitalize - supply chains. The Govt. introduced a National Logistics Policy last year, a multi-billion dollar project aimed at making the logistics and supply chain infra more efficient.
4. Civil - often made fun of. However, there are good opportunities here too
   1. Saw in one article that almost 50% of the infra that would exist by 2050 doesn't even exist now, which means whoever capitalizes here would win billions in investment from both Govt. and firms.
   2. Opportunity for research as well - with the rise of climate-related issues, there has been ongoing research for fine-tuning the methods used in the significantly-polluting infra sector, like better cement/steel which contribute to a disproportionately high chunk of CO2 emissions.
5. MSc Eco - obvious
6. MSc Math - no field operates without Math. Also, Math+CS students get the highest packages regularly.
7. MSc Phy - Physics never gets old, new research happens all the time, listing some significant projects underway
   1. Nuclear Fusion - achieving net energy gain will possibly be the most important achievement of this century - an answer to all climate-related issues.
   2. All of the things mentioned above in the engineering part involve physics heavily. Only those with deep knowledge of physics can bring about revolutionary technology
8. MSc Chemistry - dealing with the fundamental units of nature can give rise to a lot of new stuff.
   1. Nanotechnology, Material Sciences - take for example the EV battery. There have been significant investments to increase the range of batteries. Significant research is needed, heavily involving chemistry to develop such batteries
   2. (MSc Biology too) Biochemistry - advances in gene editing open up the possibility of curing any disease.
9. MSc Biology -
   1. With the advent of the space age, the need for sustaining humans on other planets requires a lot of Biological research - growing food in alien environments, making the human body resilient to adverse conditions
   2. Genetic engineering as mentioned above
   3. The elusive cure to canceAIDS - Billions being poured in here, the one who wins wields unimaginable power

The only subject most people haven't done till 12th grade is CS, and everyone is chasing it in college. The basis? Neighbour uncle told that only IT jobs exist. How ironic - you guys have been involved in such deep calculations and logic and whatnot during JEE, yet while choosing a branch, choose to follow dogmatic, outdated beliefs.
I urge y'all to think for yourself before choosing a branch. If you are going to a tier-1 institute, the last thing to be worried about it is a job. With such a brand name and alumni network, you can get a decent-paying job with half of the effort you put in for JEE, hence please explore other areas as well. This country needs more talented engineers and researchers, and if the top guys too are scared to step out of the comfort zones of coding/finance, what'll the other guys do?

I can't do my makeup anymore bc we did our makeup the same. Terrified to even wear styles of clothing bc it just reminds me of her. I've changed myself so much and I still can't stop seeing her in myself. I spent so long just constantly comparing myself and not sure how to stop. I've already blocked and gone no contact with both of them and have been for over a year now but certain pictures and memories are still so painful and vivid. I can handle the bad stuff him and I went through but when it comes to these thoughts about her I have no idea how to cope with those.

Hi, I put T in the title but to be honest I'm very new in my journey and mostly actually present as M. I'm still very much in the closet to friends and family, and I'm keen to explore the idea of coming out. I'm hoping meet some folks (or even one), new friends that I could maybe catch up with in public and just hang with as my femme self. Maybe go to a gallery, dinner, picnic etc. Someone who is open minded, pretty chill and happy. Friends only please, and I would definitely feel safer meeting cis women!
I'm a pretty relaxed person and I think I present pretty passable, although I'm always up makeup tips or a shopping trip too!
