I haven’t even flirted for such a long time, and lately, during those boring lunches where people just talk about heiresses’ dogs’ illnesses (a Pomeranian dog shares all her illnesses with her owner) or gossip about some technocrat who has a limp and who may be cheating on his partner, and while rice with cod is served, I am asked “darling, are you dating yet?”. No, I am not, and here I am, mostly because dating apps are too dull – unfortunately the odds of being flashed by a Jewish 19 year-old from Manchester is smaller on these things, though sometimes you might have some luck and end up being insulted randomly by a Portuguese girl, who is visiting her uncle.
I do have names, and surnames, and I was born in a big city in Brazil. My sister used to describe our childhood address as “a building with cars and trees and buildings”, which is a rather good description of much of the city. For a while I wanted to join the seminary but after having to face the fact that this was an inadequate career choice considering I didn’t believe in God and had always found masses to be awfully boring (though fascinating at times – the priest at my childhood church used to go on long rants about things, of which there are many) often turning my back to see the watch, and so I chose the next best thing: I am studying sociology, which involves, in many ways, taking a vow of poverty. I also work at a small online newspaper so I am well informed on sub celebrities and local occurrences such as babies heroically rescued by policemen after choking on the thing babies eat. And yes, I write poetry sometimes.
I am fascinated fairly often by everything, or many things, at least so you won’t be bored. These last days I ended up reading a lot of things about Egypt after reading about Ottoman chief eunuchs being exiled to Cairo after their tenure. In general, I really enjoy the humanities. I follow politics keenly – in fact, there is some chance I might have some thoughts on your country’s politics – and I’d say I am on the centre-left – pro-choice, in favour of a robust welfare state, LGBTQ+ rights, affirmative action. If you know about Brazilian politics, I voted for Marina and Haddad in 2018 (the voting age here is 16), and Lula last year.
As you can imagine, I also really enjoy reading and writing. Besides poetry, I have often thought about writing a novel, but this seems like too much work – and it seems that it would be arrogant of me to write a novel having lived this little, though it wouldn't be uncommon. I really enjoy learning about other languages and cultures and I know a bit of French, German, Spanish, and Russian, besides English and Portuguese. I’d really like to learn Arabic and/or Mandarin. I am really into genealogy, and I know quite a bit about it. I often cry while watching dumb movies (I cried during Minions!) or listening to beautiful music; my music taste has been described as “fairly gay” and in movies as “slightly gay”.
I guess I am pretty introverted, polite, and timid (well, I am on here after all). I am affectionate and I can be really passionate as well. And I am fairly funny, or rather, I have made a few people laugh over the years. I asked a close friend to describe myself, and that is what he said:

I think you’re very communicative. Shrewd, funny, a good companion. Kind of withdrawn but not necessarily shy. You avoid conflict and unnecessary arguments, but love to participate in good conversations. I have been considering applying to a PhD program in the U.S. after finishing my undergrad here in Brazil. My family does want me to go into their business, which is related to politics. I have plenty of ideas on plots from SoL, Historic, Sports (if you’re a hockey fan that’s a huge bonus, friends to more (these are just some of The things I like so don’t be put off if these aren’t totally your bag).
Things I don’t do are anime or canon fandoms, I prefer OCs so that people have the room to be creative and not stifled by known characteristics or stories. I also only do SFW plots so if this isn’t what you’re looking for I’m not for you sorry. I prefer to fade to black if the characters are getting to that point.

I have plenty of ideas on plots from SoL, Historic, Sports (if you’re a hockey fan that’s a huge bonus, friends to more (these are just some of The things I like so don’t be put off if these aren’t totally your bag).
Things I don’t do are anime or canon fandoms, I prefer OCs so that people have the room to be creative and not stifled by known characteristics or stories. I also only do SFW plots so if this isn’t what you’re looking for I’m not for you sorry. I prefer to fade to black if the characters are getting to that point.

My colleague nurses fail to fill out our food intake forms during shifts. So I made a quality improvement plan which involved a new method and other interventions to improve registering of food intake.
After two months I evaluated the project on the basis of 31 (more or less) filled out forms. Following this eval we decided on another intervention. Subsequently we collected forms for another 4 months, which resulted in 72 forms. So...
Period 1 (n=31):
2 forms (6.5%) were filled out for 75-100%
12 forms (38.7%) were filled out for 50-75%
15 forms (48.4%) were filled out for 25-50%
2 forms (6.5%) were filled out for 0-25%
Period 2 (n=72):
20 forms (27.8%) were filled out for 75-100%
32 forms (44.4%) were filled out for 50-75%
16 forms (22.2%) were filled out for 25-50%
4 forms (5.6%) were filled out for 0-25%
How do you calculate if there is an actual improvement? Can I compare period 1 with period 2, because there is a difference in total number of forms?

Throughout our relationship, we have diligently divided expenses equally, even though he earns substantially more (2-3x more) than I do. In the past six months, I experienced a loss of employment and have been diligently seeking full-time opportunities while working part-time. Even during this challenging phase, I have consistently fulfilled my financial obligations, contributing my fair share for all our expenses.
The question of fairness emerges in this situation. Considering that my intention is not to stay in New Zealand long-term and the visa primarily serves his interests, it seems reasonable to expect him to contribute to the cost. TLDR: my pet Sandy & Spider man died, i fell on rocks & now badly injured/in horrid pain. Buddies are aware I’m grieving and in pain, yet nobody cared to message me/check on my well-being. Got scammed by customers, unable to buy meds for my awful injury & needs for the funeral…Asked FB for some help, only got 1 care reaction from a buddy attending the funeral & that’s it. The buddy who reacted to it didn’t even send me a text. Nobody, and I mean no one has messaged me or called me during this very sad, painful time. I had people ask for rides to the funeral & back to their home, yet they don’t wish to contribute given this incredibly trying time for me….I feel so unappreciated, taken advantage of, and depressed. My heart is shattered in pieces.
Recently my pet Sandy (tarantula) & Spider Man (tarantula) died, it’s been such a heartbreaking loss for me…I have been so, so depressed over my little boy & little girl passing away. Right after sandy & spider man died, I fell on rocks in the dark and I’ve been badly injured ever since.
My right leg has been giving me horrid pain, to the point I can’t properly move, sleep or walk. I haven’t slept in days due to this pain, my injury has nearly been a week now & this awful pain hasn’t gone away. I have chronic IBS, so the hard fall has made my condition’s pain even worse. My buddies are aware of this.
Now, here’s the part where my buddies come along…They’re aware this is going on with me, yet nobody has cared to reach out. Nobody has sent me a simple text checking on my well-being during this very sad & painful time. Nobody has cared enough to ask me if I need help with Sandy & Spider mans funeral. They’ve asked for me to give them car rides to the funeral & then back to their place, yet they haven’t considered contributing one bit towards the funeral. My buddies are not struggling, they all hold very good jobs, so it’s not like they’re unable to contribute.
Considering this very sad, painful, trying time- I reached out for help on Facebook for the very first time. I told my buddies the honest truth, that after the hard fall I’ve been in unbearable pain & I’m unable to properly move or sleep. I am grieving heavily while in awful physical pain. I had customers scam me (I own a small business) & I relied on the money from those sales, for my medication & the funeral coming up….so now I’m unable to buy my medication for this horrid injury & needs for the funeral.
I said in a polite, professional way if different buddies buy at least 1 item, it’ll be able to buy my medication for my awful pain & the funeral needs… I had 1 person that’s attending the funeral give the post a care reaction, and that was it. Everyone else completely ignored it. The person attending the funeral who gave a care reaction, didn’t even reach out to me. I am being completely ignored during my pain & grief.
I’ve been incredibly kind to all of these people who I consider buddies, I’ve gladly fed them at bars many times when they asked me for food, I’ve been a great protector for all in unsafe environments in our town…Yet here I am, being completely unappreciated & constantly taken advantage of. My heart is shattered in pieces.

So I recently broke up with my gf. Reason being is that she has had a history of verbal abuse with me which if anyone is inclined they can read about in my post history. We took a week break back in March because of this exact thing and it almost broke our relationship but I ended up going back to her to try and make things right however I’ve been on edge and contemplating things since then.
Besides what she has said to me I feel like she was always disagreeing with me just for points of contention. Half of the time our points of view weren’t even really different, she would just disagree with me then repeat basically what I said back to her using different wording. Which can become very tiresome. I think overall we’re both somehow disagreeable people and butt heads over certain things
Anyway this all came to a head several days ago. I made reservations at her favorite restaurant (not cheap lol) and took her to dinner. When we got home she was on the couch and said she was cold and asked if I could turn the AC to 77. I got up and I think it turned it to 76? Anyway a few minutes later she got up, saw the thermostat and started getting nasty with me how inconsiderate I am, im so selfish and can’t think about anyone but myself etc. i apologized at first then I calmly (but somewhat annoyed) told her we just had a great dinner and I just wanted to have a relaxing evening. But that didn’t seem to matter and she continued to sulk and have ab attitude for the next hour over this. I can remember laying there thinking that this is a pattern of behavior and I’m tired of feeling like shit every time something small like this happens. I have been feeling this way off and on for months and it wasn’t going away. I kept thinking am I wasting my time here? What if we have a kid I can’t leave then and idk if this person is going to actually keep me happy? What I waste 2 more years here and this doesn’t get better??
The next day one of our mutual friends got engaged. My gf has also been pressuring me for engagement recently which I have been putting off for the reasons above. I think to myself can I deal with this person forever? And honestly my answer to myself is a strong I don’t think so… I have told her it would be next year before I’d be ready for that pending that our relationship continued on a good path since we just almost broke up. She wasn’t originally happy with this but accepted it or so I thought.
Anyway she put the screws to me again and said if I don’t propose to her by the end of this year then she would leave me. I told her that she keeps making me feel pressured and reiterated to her we had almost just split up three months ago and I wanted more time than just 6 months to make sure our issues were sorted out. (Some have been but obviously her demeanor still eats at me). Which I think is only logical before a commitment like that. She said that I should be fully ready to marry her and that she regrets staying with me during the first year of our relationship when we had some other issues. She said should have just left me and found someone who appreciates her. At that point I snapped and told her she’s right and I want to end things. She moved her stuff out and here I am. I feel slight relief but also huge loss and wonder if I made the right call. I do miss her a lot

I'm a professional music maker. Both inside and outside of the artist sphere. I've played some of the biggest festivals in North America and I've signed music to the biggest labels in my genre.
However I always have this itch to make dubstep for some reason. During the pandemic I decided to spend a year and learn the ins and outs of dubstep. I produced some pretty solid tracks. I'll admit to me none of them were opus magnum or anything. But definitely sign worthy tracks I felt. I started shopping around. But it seemed like no labels would give me the time of day. I wouldn't get any plays on 95% of the links I sent out I got one reply from a big label who just told me to keep sending them records (so I guess .. denial)
In my primary genre I've never ran into this problem. You always get plays and replies, denials, and signings etc.
I'm wondering... Is the dubstep label culture different some how? Should I be looking for a manager first?
