2023.06.10 12:16 Calvinrobbo With Aztercross giving his thoughts on the game I wanted to give mine.
I’m a 15 year old male and I’ve played destiny for almost 2 years now and with 2000 hours under my belt I thought I’d give some thoughts.
Destiny has changed my life it is one of the most fun, unique and interesting shooter I’ve played since Star Wars Battlefront II it keeps my hooked with incentive, story ( even though most of the time I have no clue what’s going on ) and changes that keep the game healthy. Despite all of this I would hardly say it’s a perfect game, for starters the new light system is atrocious and didn’t teach me anything at the start of my journey as a guardian I’m surprised I’m still playing to this day. I have had several friends that I know would love destiny if they gave it time quit it because the new light quest is so boring and teaches you nothing. Next issue I have is balance changes they take years to come around like chromatic fire was one of the worst exotics for warlocks before the buff that happens only two weeks ago when that exotic got a great rework, my point is that at least 40% if most exotics in destiny are on life support and I always find myself and most other people to be running the same things all the time, hunters what do you run in a dps phase let me guess star-eater scales. One last complaint removing old content or sunsetting it , this is the worst idea in history like I don’t play season of the seraph because I took a breath from destiny but I did buy the annual pass for witch queen so I’ve payed for the content but will never be able to play it?
This game is incredible though all of the subclasses despite being complex and unappealing to the new player all feel amazing each feel different but still sticks to the identity of the class. Enemy design and raid mechanics are like no other game in a good way and I love doing almost all the raid mechanics and killing enemies gives me a great dopamine rush. This game is an 8/10 for me. I didn’t talk about servers or the engine in this discussion because I know nothing about them and therefore shouldn’t have an opinion on it.

2023.06.10 12:08 RingTeam What do I think of Rainbow Rocks (2014) now?
I've watched Rainbow Rocks twice. One in 2014 and another one in 2021. I start sharing this little fun fact because back in 2014, I had gone through several transitions. And one of them was the fact that there was a point where I didn’t like the movie at all.
Back in 2014 I had so many conflicting feelings about the direction of the show and the creative process of the franchise that I didn’t know how to handle. Part of my frustration came from the fact that this film was released just to calm down the wait for season 5. There was also the concern I had where I asked if we were gonna get a movie about ponies instead of more Equestria Girls content. It was a lot of things that, like I said, I didn’t know how to handle. I was frustrated, unnecessarily angry and I was too antagonistic to the Equestria Girls fans, and they didn’t deserve that awful treatment.
However, that was 2014. Now it’s 2023. For the G4 we got a TV show with nine seasons, four EG movies, a small TV show called Pony Life, another TV show based on EG, some shorts of that franchise, some other shorts of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic and the 2017 film. We’ve got A LOT of stuff. The thought I had back in 2015 is no longer a concern, since this is already finished and I got the 2017 MLP movie, a film that I absolutely love. Because of that, I decided to rewatch Rainbow Rocks from a different angle. A different light. A different take.
The big news you’re gonna hear from me is that I don’t hate Rainbow Rocks anymore. It’s just a harmless movie. It’s still a very average film and it’s still my least favorite out of the four EG films, but I don’t have hard feelings anymore. I’ve changed over the years and I started to appreciate the Equestria Girls movies, particularly thanks to Legend of Everfree. I don’t think it’s even too late because some fans go rewatch the films overtime, in the same way I rewatch the 2017 MLP film overtime. The movie hasn’t changed, I changed. Everybody changes, after all.
Anyway, so what do I think of Rainbow Rocks now?
Over the years I started to appreciate the EG films for what they are. That doesn’t necessarily mean I like them now, it means there’s a couple of things in these four movies, mostly creative decisions, that I genuine appreciate now. The core concepts, the songs, the characters, sometimes the artstyle, etc. While the movies aren’t perfect, some of these ideas might work perfectly in My Little Pony Friendship is Magic.
I think Rainbow Rocks has lots of interesting ideas that could work after one rewrite. One of the things that make the Mane 6 so iconic is the organic flow in the character’s dynamic. In this film you kinda see a little bit of that, but I think they don’t have the most well thought out dialogue in the whole franchise. Fluttershy, Applejack and a little bit of Sunset Shimmer are ok, but I’m not sure about the rest of them. Rarity wants the rock group to be as fancy as possible, but most of her ideas slow down the pacing of the movie, and it was already too slow to me. Pinkie Pie doesn’t have the best jokes and she uses them in the worst timing possible. For example, there was a part where she uses the “drum pun” sound joke, but the reason why it doesn’t work is because there was no pun or punchline. It’s just Pinkie saying “Isn’t this supposed to be fun?” and using the drums and call it a day, nothing else. My problem with the main characters in Rainbow Rocks is that they don’t have strong features that make them interesting or strong.
Many people like the villains. The Sirens are considered some of if not THE favourite villains in the fandom. But, come to think of it, the only thing they ever did was saying this:
“You are the worst”
“No, you ARE the worst”
Do that twenty times.
Maybe it’s me, but I don’t think repeating the same dialogue over and over can make a villain interesting. If it was like Izma and Kronk from the Emperor Groove film, that might work because they have very different lines based on the relationship they have in the movie. They don’t repeat the same catchphrase over and over again. Unfortunately, Rainbow Rocks doesn’t have that. This is probably one of my problems with the movie and a lot of people will probably dismiss it, which I don’t mind. But when you hear “these are the best villains in the franchise”, you kinda expect something more than this. All I’m saying is, repeating the same line so many times is not enough.
My favourite detail in Rainbow Rocks was Sunset Shimmer receiving bad looks from other characters because of her actions in the previous film. Why? Maybe it's because what I wish it was. You have a character confronting the consequences of her previous actions. Everyone hates her. She knows she made a huge mistake. She wants to fix this problem. She wants to make friends after all the disaster she did in the first movie. It could have felt like a very relatable continuation of the 2013 film. But there's not enough development. They make the Mane 6 remembering what Sunset did in the previous film as a punchline many times until the last ten minutes, and her character arc felt forced and sudden, with no organic evolution of her or any of the Mane 6. You could have cut 90% of the film and made it into a story about Sunset Shimmer trying to get along with everybody. But instead the movie was about a music tournament. So, unless you have different music genres, it’s not interesting enough to make a movie about.
Rewatching this film and seeing Sunset Shimmer in 2021, I do wonder what would happen if everyone in Ponyville and Equestria hated Starlight because of what she did in season 5, especially when she kept doing horrible things in the last 4 seasons (*ahem* Uncommon Bond, Road to Friendship and Every little thing she does among many other Starlight episodes). I wonder why the writers didn’t do it. It’s not an impossible idea, they could have done that.
My major complain about Rainbow Rocks is Rainbow Dash, by a long shot. As someone who made amends with her friends in the first movie, she’s just too damn mean in this movie for no reason. I think she's really despicably unlikeable. The stuff she says doesn't sound like what a friend would say, specially considering what she wanted to fix in the previous film. It's not a cocky and too confident friend, it's trying as hard as possible to make this music band her band and to strongly believe in this to the point where she's too mean. I know she’s supposed to learn his lesson in the end and he obviously does, but you’re supposed to kind of want this girl to overcome her obtacles and in the end I really don’t. I thought she was horrible.
When it comes to technical details, the animation is still very stiff. Some poses can be appealing, especially in american shots (from head to waist), but other times the characters act a little bit weird. There was a part in the garage scene where Twilight ends up being alone and, instead of using one keyframe or a smooth animation to reflect concern or sadness, she changed to three keyposes with either little or weird variation. I think this type of detail works against the film. I’m not sure if there were tough deadlines back in 2014 (and even one year before the release of the film, because making an animated film is really really hard and usually the last year is for editing, post-production and marketing), but if they were more focused on doing the exact right keyframes and then animating the characters instead of doing more effective keyframes, I think it could have been better.
I think Rainbow Rocks would have become my favourite EG film if:
-The main plot was about Sunset Shimmer dealing with all the highschool hating her because of her actions. The sirens were focused on that power sign, so their presence turned the film into a band war instead of a movie about Sunset Shimmer.
-Speaking about that, the film shouldn’t have any villains.
-The soundtrack had more songs like “friendship through the ages” with some music variation instead of these pop songs.
-The soundtrack had some rock songs. After all, the film is called Rainbow ROCKS.
-The jokes were actually funny and unpredictable.
-Rainbow Dash wasn’t THAT mean and selfish.
While I don’t think Rainbow Rocks is that good, I appreciate it for a lot of things. It tried something different with Sunset Shimmer that I wish Friendship is Magic used as a blueprint back in season 6 or even season 5. I appreciate it because, if it wasn’t for that movie, we probably wouldn’t have got Legend of Everfree, a film that I really think it’s good. I appreciate it for being an alternative option for people who already loved My Little Pony and wanted more but with a different flavor, a different take, kinda like RWBY Chibi in comparison to RWBY. And I appreciate it because of how Sunset Shimmer evolved in the four films.
I’m not a fan, but I love the fact that this film has fans. And that’s the most important thing right now.

2023.06.10 11:31 TreeTime23 A note page about a boy
“I always find a way to say the wrong things, I wish that we were laying in the same sheets but lately you’ve been acting like you hardly know me” (Song: shut up my moms calling; by- hotel ugly) Senior sunset memories: got to fucked up he had to drive me home (thank god for him) held my hand home, small heartfelt lecture, long hug. Hoping I didn’t kiss him while intoxicated. I don’t know a lot but I know I feel something special around him who knows could be the flu I hope we are at least friends forever I don’t know what to do without him I saw him yesterday and I feel physical pain not seeing him. It hurts I’ve never felt this way about anyone That day after safe and sober when he called me and I told him how I felt about our little tussle and he apologized as we watched the sunset. Two different places same view. I wish I could live through every memory again They’ve got nothing on me I’m not dreaming I never say what comes to mind The wind is blowing. It’s raining like crazy. Yet I feel like I can only think of him. Why? Fuck I hate this He probably doesn’t like me It was nice being able to feel him though. Yesterday when he came over for the first time. I made him dinner. We tried to watch a movie but the storm knocked out the WiFi. So we watched a video on his phone. I nuzzled myself onto his shoulder. I could feel the way he breathed. The way he smells, he already smells good. Just that is enough to keep my mind busy for weeks. The small interactions we have. I bought CONDOMS. Why? To be prepared bc ya never know what if he randomly confessed his love for me. Sorry that was crazy. Like genuinely crazy. I don’t know I crave his touch. His hugs. Anything. Maybe because I don’t get enough. I don’t know.
(Thank you for reading if you got this far. I hate having feelings lol)

2023.06.10 10:27 NextAd5263 My fiance (32M) hurts my feelings (25F) everytime I get him birthday gifts.
We've been together for 7 years, and I've always had trouble with gift giving. I try to show my love and get him something unique, but he turns it into a fuss. Note that I was 18 when we started dating, he was 25, and I was earning but not that much.
Some examples of the gifts I've gotten him are scuba diving experiences, I tried baking him a cake once and it turned out tasting like shit and he didn't appreciate the gesture and made a whole drama out of it.. the only gifts he didn't make drama out of were just clothes gifts which I find extremely lame.
Last year, I was abroad for this birthday but had a cake delivered to his home.
This year, his birthday was on a weekday. I planned for us and our two close friends to take a yacht ride during sunset, I prepared snacks, food, drinks... and then booked us and our friends a dinner at a one of the best hotel restaurants in town. I also got him a nice shirt. I spent about 250$ on the whole thing. I also wrote him a birthday letter.
On the Satuday preceding his birthday, we went out for dinner with my cousins and sister and her husband. He was so quiet all throughout, barely talked, kept complaining about things, and when gift giving topic was being discussed, he passive agressively said directed at me "yeah sometimes you shouldn't value someone so much" when the people around us were discussing what gifts their boyfriends/husband would get them and I said "yeah mine is generous with his gifts". It was a simple discussion and he took it to heart.
For instance, my cousin's fiance said she only got one rose on valentines. Now, my fiance got me a whole bouquet, but my cousin literally PAMPERS his fiance day and night, pays for her everything. So it's not just that one rose. And my fiance held this against me afterwars, he's like 'did you hear? others only give their fiances one rose"
It turned out he thought I had disregarded his birthday and didn't plan anything for his birthday. But truthfully, I had planned things out for the DAY OF HIS BIRTH, and not the weekend preceding it, because I already spent too much and couldn't afford a getaway or something also. I
Anyways, he had work on his birthday and I wasn't telling him about the yacht trip just yet. It was a surprise.
He picked me up after work and we went to his place, where I gave him the shirt. He didn't even appreciate it, just wore it and said it's too big. And he was angry for some reason, even using a loud tone with his mother.
The second we reached the yacht, he was still so serious, silent, didn't appreciate it at all. Even when our friends arrived he just was there. Like an angry child. While the rest of us were just chilling and enjoying the new experience which. 30 minutes into the ride he turns to me and says; "and then what? we just do this for a whole other hour?"
at that point, I was so pissed I was about to cry. I didn't respond and went to another spot on the boat. He was like this the entire time, only talking occasionally, barely excited. We got a bit nauseous and took motion sickness pills which made us drowsy. But we had a fancy dinner planned afterwards, and my sister and her husband also joined.
Despite everyone there spending so much money and time out of their days just to celebrate his birthday with him, he was so silent the entire time, even at the restaurant, barely showing respect or gratitude to anyone. Blamed his silence on the effects of the pill. I took it too, and I was drowsy too, but I wasn't making it as obvious at hijm and I was putting an effort into showing appreciation to the people around us on behalf of his rudeness.
At the end of the night, we got him a tiny birthday cake slice from the restaurant's menu.
After the whole thing ended, he's like "I'm a getaway and restaurant type of guy" and he made me feel bad for the yacht trip and what not.
A week later, he jokingly said "you didn't even get me a birthday cake" - but I know there was some truth to what he said.
This is why his birthdays always stress me out cause nothing I do is ever enough. It's my fault for trying to gift him unique things on his birthday, but never again.
Still, I want to know if his attitude is normal? Or if there are hidden motives in there.
On my birthday, we usually do have a getaway in the weekend before if it's on a weekday. But we always have getaways, and he earns more than me. Plus, in our culture, its usually the man pampering the woman, but he expects me to go full out on him on his birthday?
This past year for instance, I was studying aborad so we didn't spend neither christmas nor new years nor my birthday togeher. When I returned, he gave me a perfume and a gold necklace. But we didn't exactly go out or celebrate.
I'm not sure what to do or how to react to this occurrence, especialyl since he's my fiance and we have a life ahead us.

What are the best things to do in London England ?
There is a lot of history and culture in this great city. When you arrive, I recommend renting a car at the airport and driving straight downtown, or find a spot on the tube (the subway) with your luggage and take it into central London to start exploring!
Here are some of my favorite things to do in England:
- The London Eye is a great way to see all of London from above. You can go inside and sit next to a window while the rest of the world goes by, or you can have an open air spin and watch as the city unfolds around you. Either way, it’s a great experience!
- Westminster Abbey is a beautiful church that has been standing for centuries. It was originally built in the 10th century but has been expanded into what it is today, which makes it quite unique. You can have a tour of the inside or outside and take your time looking around at all the detail of each stone wall!
- Trafalgar Square. This square is probably one of the most famous places in London due to its statuesque of Lord Nelson in the center and The National Gallery that surrounds it. There are a lot of people that hang out here, whether it be for a tour or just some quiet time with a book on the steps, as there are always benches!
- St Paul’s Cathedral is one of the most beautiful churches I have ever seen in my life. Every detail of this place has been thought of and it makes you feel like you are part of history being surrounded by the past. The best time to go is at sunset when everyone gathers outside for prayer!
- Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre is a reproduction of the original theatre from the time of William Shakespeare where his plays were first performed. It was opened in 1997 and has grown to be a great centre of education, entertainment, and tourism all centered around the works of Shakespeare! [end of text]

2023.06.10 10:19 King_Julien_1511 Season ending
I’m so scared that Raymond is going to die at the end of season 10. His character is so good im just so happy watching him on screen, his lines and how he delivers them. He’s a poet. Spader does such a fantastic job. His mannerisms, his facial movements and pauses at the right time whilst telling stories. I want him to have a happy ending off in to the sunset. I don’t even care about answers anymore, im adamant he’s Liz’s Father but I genuinely don’t have to know now, they ruined that a long time ago.
It’s crazy how 1 man can carry the show, its had his up’s & down’s with fans but they all stayed for one reason and thats Raymond. I just hope the writers dont fuck it up.

2023.06.10 09:55 chuerta86 Los Angles to Bay Area (PCH)
Hi, I'm planning on hitting the west coast from LA to Berkley. Got a show in LA on the 27th and another in Berkeley on the 30th and figured I'd make a trip. Got two days to make over there and 5 days to make it back.
Very rough itinerary and some spots I hope to hit. I have some spots in these areas I'm thinking of checking but will post later as a comment because I want to see what people recommend first.
What are some spots that are a must? Spots that I can skip? Spots for sunsets, sunrise, lodge, night gaze, bars, cafe's? Food? Breakfasts?
Carpinteria - loved this small town, going for coffee mostly. Already visited Santa Barbara, Ventura, Solvang, so I'm skipping those.
*Pismo Beach -Chapman Estate
*San Luis Obispo *Morro Bay * Cambria
*San Simon
*Monterey
*Carmel by the sea
*Big Sur

2023.06.10 09:42 wandering_dolt One-day Hike suggestions, please
Hello, my friends,
I want to go for a one-day hike. I rarely get time off work or family, but I realize I need a day for myself to just check out of work and the net. So I was hoping to go for a hike, I don't know if there are any trails nearby, but I'm hoping for something easy, like driving out in the early morning before sunrise, hiking, come back by 8 PM or so.
Or something longer is fine with me too, I know it's summer and this isn't hiking season. But I need to touch grass and spend some time doing something new or else I'm going to burn out.
So any suggestions, please?

I am chill about this. How good your writing is isn’t that important to me, though I’d love a sample. I write as best I can because I love writing. I just ask you speak to me if there’s a concern, rather than just run and block. I can adjust, but I would rather solve a problem than cut someone out of my life.
Here’s the first image I had of the setting:
Iceland. Perspective suspended in the air over the sea, facing the top of a cliff with a jagged fissure in it, just a few hours before sunset.
"The sun is a starburst of tarnished brass, too old to be gold, too soon to be scarlet, suspended just above the edge. The scattered grasses than lean off the ledge are emerald and look warm to the touch, but just slightly. The air holds the breath of winter within it—the sharp points within a velvet pincushion.
The maw of the cleft is dark. Aged fingers of sunlight reach within, feeding the nesting birds the warmth of its final hours. Flits of feathers echo amidst song shared and repeated by rocks and gulls.
Move down, and the schism narrows, too tight for sunny fingers to squeeze through. Bird calls can still be heard, but now also the ocean that breaks against the rock. The curve and tooth of moss and stone twist the crash into new sounds, hollow and whispering of what else the dark hides.
The cliff itself grows in your periphery; the color of coffee met with cream. It is faceted like the edge of some primitive blade, so that it does not crumble to sand when struck, but cleaves into knives and needles. The surface is a sea of waves in desert hues, each crest a razor to the palm.
Down further now, nearing the tide that grows louder, the gap of black only as wide as your arms outstretched. There are no birds now, but if your eyes adjust, bundles of bats can just be seen, shuddering and stretching as they rouse to fly with the evening stars.
Down, and down, narrower and narrower, louder and louder, until a short tunnel forms, large enough for four men to stand abreast, with four more on their shoulders.
At the end of this short journey, within the cacophony of a hundred waves breaking a hundred shores, there is the very top another tunnel, which would surely be revealed at lowest tide.
A shimmer of golden torchlight dances there like a hearth fire, brighter and warmer than the remains of the sun.”
Can you see it?
Wonderful.
My character has no name, but is called “Aesir” after Norse tradition. He is a man that is not a man, with silver eyes, hair long and black and wild, fair skin and dark furs that cover it. Wings blacker than his hair appear as needed, ethereal, each feather that of a peacock, yet where fake eyes would be, real eyes watch, prismatic and shining in judgement of good or evil.
He does not know how to speak, but can share feelings and visions to convey his intent, in a way he has done with few others.
His purpose is to protect the locals from evil airs and spirits. The people rarely catch sight of him, but are grateful for his work; they place charms to invite his protection: of a pair of raven feathers with two rainbow eyes painted on the wide ends, strung together to the striker of a silver bell, that when the wind blows, the chime rings out to him.
Possible stories we could write together:
A woman—your creation—crashes her ship at the cleft in the rock, needing rescue or saving herself, suddenly standing before him in his cave.
A resident of a local village seeks him out, in search of his help or in gratitude. Perhaps she is declared evil unjustly, perhaps she simply needs to meet him herself.
An arranged companion, selected from the community, to help him in his work protecting the local villages.
In all cases, he will show himself to you, because you are different, in a way you define.
If you would like to make the one that meets my angel, let me know.
Thank you for your time.

2023.06.10 08:40 ZiggyGasman New pedalboard build
After playing only a Rivera 30/12 w/ drive switch for 15 years, I have recently decided to build my first pedalboard. I joined the worship team at my church and needed a solution for generating the necessary tones/sounds/ambience/swells etc. I'm well aware of all the options out there, but I decided wholeheartedly to take advantage of this opportunity to build a pedalboard now that I have an excuse to do so. I haven't assembled everything yet, but after a moderate amount of research, this is the rig I'm developing based on the pedals and other equipment I've obtained (mostly used).
My conceived signal chain is as follows: Petersen tuner > Electro-Harmonix micro pog > Keeley compressor > Chase Bliss Audio Brothers > MXR Duke of Tone > Walrus Ages > Wampler Tumnus > Strymon Riverside > Strymon Sunset > Ernie Ball Vol Jr pedal > Walrus Julianna Chorus > Line 6 DL4 MkII > Walrus Slo > Strymon Big Sky > Strymon Timeline > Strymon Iridium
Some thoughts that went into this setup: I started with all analog using DOT into Ages, but wasn't getting the full range of overdrive tones I was looking for. I love the DL4 mark 2, although a little confusing to tinker with. I was using this primarily for delay and reverb combined with Slo reverb for a beautiful ambient soundscape, and this was great up until I couldn't dial in all the reverb and delay styles I was looking for. This was especially limiting during performance. It worked fine and the sound was adequate, but I wanted more range and control.
Honestly, playing with my own amp has been nice for the sound, but I am really tired of lugging the amp back and forth. Ultimately, I decided to spring for a MIDI control setup with some strymon pedals and the Brothers pedal from CBA controlled by the Morningstar MC6 pro. I bought the ML5 and plan to loop in POG, DOT, AGES, Tumnus, and the compressor (for the Keeley, mainly to dial in a few different sustain settings) for MIDI presets. I might get a bigger loop switcher later on to have control over the Julianna and the Slo, but for now I think I'll bring them in and out manually and use their sustain feature at times. Finally, with the Iridium I intend to plug into front of house so my only payload will be the board.
I have the isolated power banks I need to juice everything. I will send MIDI to all capable devices and use presets for each setlist.
Any ideas for ideal setup? Am I missing anything important?

2023.06.10 08:32 karmafrog1 Are Cesar and Elie from Mandaluyong Hulo Barangay still with us?
Four years ago I made this video
"Cesar and Elie" about the Filipinos who were enjoying sunsets along the Pasig in Mandaluyong near the Acqua Residences. It was just a slice of every day life for my hiking vlog; at that time I was fairly new in the Philippines.
I'm now living in Mandaluyong near Ortigas and went by the area last week but it looks like now there is a live band playing there at sunset and people are not gathering in the same way. Does anyone happen to know if Cesar and Elie are still with us today?

2023.06.10 08:26 Pizzacanzone Can I have a hug?
This happened years ago in the north of Holland - the flattest, least scary land in the world. We were still teenagers. I remember it like yesterday.
My friends Anna, Veronica, Chris and I had been spending the day at the beach and were going back home after watching the sunset. We had been walking together over the sandy, broken-shell path between the dunes, but after we had to split up. There were three roads: Anna had her bike and turned left, to a misty polder path. Veronica and Chris turned right, into the forest.
The forests here are nothing exciting: you can see the end before you even enter them. They are sparse and open. I would have taken that route, but Veronica and Chris were newly dating and I wanted to give them some privacy, so I started biking straight ahead, into a street lit by yellow street lamps and lined with tidy cottages. As I was approaching the second cottage, however, I got a very bad feeling. Just as I was trying to shake it off, my tyre popped. I dismounted my bike and stepped right into a pile of broken glass. Annoying.
I would have repaired my bike right then and there - but something just felt off. The light was too orange, the cottage too close to the road. I felt suffocated. I decided to roll the bike home and maybe my dad would fix it in the morning. I did not feel good between these houses though and somehow really wanted to walk with my friends. Anna was long gone, but as Veronica and Chris were walking - and probably making out - I could still catch up with them. I turned my bike around and started jogging best I could. The glass was covering the entire bike lane, how did I not notice this? It was shimmering red in the deep orange light. I picked up my pace.
Soon I caught up with Veronica and Chris, whose handheld eye-gazing was rudely interrupted by my arrival. 'What's up?' said Chris, hiding his annoyance well. I pointed at my bike, which now had two flat tyres, glass sticking out in several places. I said: 'can I walk home with you? I got the creeps in the lane.' Veronica sighed, but Chris managed to agree enthusiastically.
We didn't have to go far, just around one last dune and I'd have to head into the town and find my home, lock my bike against the lantern in front, find my warm bed... but not yet. I was still the cockblock in the misty forest. I tried to find some light small talk, but Veronica quickly shut down every topic. When we finally got to my intersection, she enthusiastically turned to me, hugged me tight, and said: 'it was SO nice to see you. We should do this again tomorrow! Maybe earlier in the day!'
She let go and I turned to hug Chris, as I heard Anna's voice behind me: 'Can I get a hug too?'
A chill ran down my spine. Why was the light so orange? Didn't Anna get home a long time ago? I turned to see her wrap her arms around Veronica clumsily. I didn't see her face, but it seemed she only had four fingers on her left hand. Weird, I never noticed that before. I hugged Chris and as I looked up, I looked straight into her face. It was a very soft, white face. Wispy hair, large grey eyes, kind of distant look. Not Anna at all. I don't know why I thought that. 'Can I get a hug too, please?' she asked softly of Chris. I stepped away to let him hug the stranger. I now saw she had five fingers, one was just very small. That's cool. I wasn't going to be some kind of person that is creeped out by a handicap. That would not be cool.
She turned to me next. Really, why did I ever think this was Anna? This was the opposite of Anna. I wish it was her. I missed her thick legs, her matter-of-fact way of speaking, her dirty blonde, messy hair, her farmer's grin. This girl was so wispy and hardly-here, it was hard to believe she was even Dutch. Well, I wasn't going to be someone who is scared of foreigners. So when she turned to me with her tearful eyes, said: 'can I get a hug please?' and my entire body told me: NO! Don't let her touch you! Get her away from me! - I smiled politely and opened my arms. I felt her hand on my shoulder first. She took her time laying down her fingers on it: one - two- three - four (the small one) - five - six... I wanted to pull away but I felt frozen as she pulled herself toward me, wrapped her arms around me and breathed in my ear: 'thank you...'
I managed to cycle home on my ruined bike after that and made sure to never stay on the beach past dark again. You know what was strange? My father fixed my bike the next day - he didn't find any glass. He said it just looked like someone let out the air and the tires were fine.

41/m, I write as many paragraphs/lines as I feel are needed. Dialogue can be a paragraph or less, scene setting can be five or more. It doesn’t matter a lot to me so long as you’re interested and invested in what we do. If you’re not, say something and we’ll change it up.
I’m on UTC-5, or Central Time, US. I work night audits right now, so I’ll have a lot of downtime. Available times are between 5pm to 10:30pm, then 7:30am-10am Sunday-Thursday. If you’re up late, or work nights, I can always post during work.
I’d like to see your posting frequency to be at least once every other day, though if you’re making huge posts where you take your time, a couple a week is fine. Or several a day! I can post at least 3-4 times daily, depending.

I am working on a 200 ROM curated list of games for the NES Classic. As I have not hacked it yet, I am looking for any info / recommendations on this. I am wanting to flash the internal memory and not rely on an external USB. I understand there is only 512mb and bad things happen if you fill that memory. This is why I focused on 200 games, uncompressed with cover art is 241mb. Should be enough room for save states and other system stuff?
