I am just so sad. In short, I saved up all my life and sacrificed everything I could until the age of 38 and opened a restaurant right before COVID hit. Long story short, restaurant is sold at a major loss, life savings gone and I just put up my family home for sale to pay off my debts, will be renting because my credit is shot. Will have to take my autistic son out of his private school and put him in a crappy public school. Marriage took a major hit and I’m not sure if we’ll come out of it ok. I’m out of a job and feel like I can’t work anymore, yet I cannot afford even a week without any income.
I’ve been crying all day and I can’t stop. I’m so sad my heart physically aches. I can’t sleep and cannot hold back my tears and sadness. I know everyone will say stuff like “stay strong” and “it’ll get better” or “there are others that have it worse”, but for me, since the age of 16, I have dedicated every second of every day, made so many sacrifices and suffered so much to get somewhere where I could lead a good life and leave something good for my kids when I’m gone, only to end up with such an outcome. I am destroyed and hurting so much.
I lost hope. I was always positive even when times were hard. I always believed hard work and sacrifices will eventually pay off. I always believed that if I do good I will eventually reap the benefits. I have always tried to be kind, generous, helpful and compassionate with everyone I encountered, no matter who they were. I was religious and believed I will be rewarded for my efforts. I was wrong all along and it really really really hurts to hit the wall and find out all of it was in vain.
I’m not sure what I’m looking for by posting this but I hope to feel even a little better after putting it out there. Thanks for reading me and good luck to everyone out there, life is unfair and cruel.

I played in a band for years signed to FAT WRECK CHORDS. Maybe you know of the label, maybe not. They’ve always been very good with things like kick downs and royalty payments in ways I’ve been told by an employee of Epic records, just don’t. Then they pulled this move, based on album sales, they awarded all band members with genuine platinum and gold records. Is it true this is uncommon? I wanted to post a picture of my gold record but it won’t let me here.

They say it's a 1991 koga Miata, unused even with the saddle/bar height never being adjusted.
It's for sale for 900€.
Is it real? Is something like this worth it? I don't see a difference between a fresh store bought bike and this besides maybe some parts that have to be switched out due to aging, and I would rather like a bike with a story than just any bike of the shelf.

I've just quit my job due to extreme stress. I have severe ADHD and I'm finding it really hard to update my CV because my existing resume design sucks and I'm getting really stuck on finding a new one that works and easy to use. I'm quite overwhelmed and its stopping me from applying for jobs which is creating more stress as I need to find another job ASAP.
I'm currently an AM but also done a range of BDM roles before. I think my content is ok but I just need to get a resume template that looks ok and I can use quite easily.
My sales friend gave me his Sales based Resume, he used Canva and it looks great but its two columns and after reading the advice on this group I think I should stick to a single column.
Is there anyone in a sales role here who has a good resume design template (that's easy to cut and paste into) that I could use? Thanks a lot in advance.

Heyo! Trying this again for what feels like the upteenth time (damn why does friend making online have to be so hard??) and hoping it'll go better this time! Things seem to finally be looking up for me in terms of what I do for work. I'm an online seller and have finally been making sales so I'm very happy that things are picking back up again. Since I mostly just focus on my shop, hang out with my bf, and do my own things I'd really like to be able to meet some people who want to have more deep and meaningful connections and conversations. I've grown tired of the stale, mundane messages/conversations that I constantly exchange with others on here. It gets really old constantly being asked how I am and what I'm up to in the day. I'd rather be talking about our interests, things that make us happy, things that have happened to us, etc. I am pretty selective with who I choose to chat with so if you do not receive a message from me move onto the next redditor.
I'm not one for small talk at all and if you engage in it with me do not expect me to stick around for long. I'm more of a deep/meaningful conversationalist who also loves random chats and even listening to someone vent and giving them advice. But do not take this as a chance to come into my DMs and dump loads of emotional turmoil on me as we do not know each other yet and need to build a strong foundation before getting personal with one another. I also heavily believe that it's important to be clear about our boundaries and respect one another. If either of us offends one another we need to communicate about how we feel. This also leads into me mentioning that I am an HSP and Infj personality type! I'm also a cancer in astrology if that matters to anyone. I lovs tarot, crystals, aliens, collecting too many plushies and many other things! I'd love to find a friend who wants to do more than just constantly chat. I want to be able to voice chat (obviously once we are comfortable with one another. I'm not going to instantly voice chat with anyone so don't ask me to do that), listen to Spotify together so we can both find new music, and play this lesser known battle royal game I have, and I'm also open to watching YouTube, a TV show, or movie together as well!
All in all I'm looking for some people to build friendships that aren't easily broken. Where we both feel good vibes and look forward to each other's messages, are able to be ourselves and allow the conversations to just flow naturally instead of forcing them, and to support/ be positive with one another. I'm the type of person to give back what I receive so if you aren't giving me much to work with then I'll probably be making myself pretty scarce as I do not care to stay in things that aren't adding substance to my life. I'm pretty big on sending and receiving long messages (since I'm a very detailed oriented person) so if you're also like that then that's awesome sauce! I'm also available to chat basically all throughout the day and night and really only want to befriend people who are available that often and able to make that kind of time for me and I'll do the same! I don't find it hard to answer someone and am pretty quick to respond. 2023.03.26 10:05 derekhans Open Flagstaff Community Update: Is Winter Over Yet? Edition

Hello Flagstaff! It's been a while since we've done one of these, so I figured I'd touch base with you all and open the floor to see where we want to go.
First, I have to say thank you for being an excellent community group. While we're not small, we're still medium-ish in size, but the fact that a lot of you are groovy people allows a small mod team to keep the cesspool down to a manageable level.
Still, some of the crap that has come our way as mods for this place has been rough. We're people too, and the amount of negative commentary can really affect us. I admit it has jaded me a bit, so you might have seen some more things like locked comments, snarky responses or just straight removals and bans. When you try to do the right thing as a mod, it usually just backfires or makes it worse, so it's easier to nip it straight out and move on. However, it's gotten to the point where sometimes I don't even want to engage with my community when all I get is grief from all sides for trying to keep this place nice. I don't like to do it, I'm sure you don't like it happening, so now we all have an opportunity to put our thoughts here and see where it goes.
When I took over Flagstaff, I wanted to bring it more in line with the rest of the community subs in Arizona. I put the rules in that I thought applied to a community our size, tried to be liberal with automod, and let folks post about the things that mattered to them, even if I personally disagreed. I've tried to be consistent with how the rules are applied, investigate instigators, notice the patterns, and take actions on the factors I thought were the most disruptive. I didn't want to just remove and ban everything like other community subs. I didn't want a labyrinth of rules.
However, this place isn't mine, and it isn't about me. It's about you. So I'm putting it out there for all of you to tell me. What do you want out of Flagstaff? Please think on it and reply, either here or in modmail if you want to say it privately. Open forum, shoot your shot.

I hope you gave it a think and wrote something. I'll tell you a few things that we've thought of that we hope will improve things. We will or won't do them based on your responses.

Housekeeping Items

Mandatory Post Flair: This will make a series of tags mandatory on all posts. Those posts will be automod reviewed and removed if they don't meet posted standards.
Automatic User Flair: This will automatically tag anyone that isn't subbed, doesn't have a lot of community engagement, or generated karma from here with certain tags. We hope this will encourage Flagstaff locals engagement as well as call out visitors.
Automatic Removal of Non-User Self Posts: This automod rule would detect text self posts from users not subbed and remove them. This removes a lot of the drive by questions from people who can't or won't use Google.
Loosening Business Submission Rules: I'd like to try a system where local businesses can participate here. I was initially against the idea, but seeing how the community rallied around our businesses during the pandemic changed my mind. I'd like to try and offer our business owners the ability to submit profiles, promote sales/events, and reach out to the community. This would be a trial at first but would hopefully increase the value of coming here and give them the opportunity to engage with us directly.
Local Classifieds: I thought it might be nice to have another sub for Northern AZ classifieds. We could tie in Sedona and other communities to direct all the Want to Buy, Want to Sell, Renting, Looking to Rent, etc etc posts there. It kind of sucks that all this activity, as well as business activity, is on Facebook.

My hope is that a lot of these things, especially the business rules, will help us build a solid wiki with our local friends that we can direct our visitors to.
One last note. I'm getting burnt out of a lot of this, so I'm opening up moderator applications. If you want this thankless job, God knows why, shoot a modmail and tell us why. We'll see who applies and after a trial period, see if we can empower some other folks who love Flagstaff to keep this place nice and safe for everyone. If it works out, I'll likely be stepping down.

👋 Hello
So I bought MHW from steam sale like 2 years ago. I went in raw, and experienced the start-and-quit starter pack.
I thought it was gona be a normal hack'n'slash. I picked up the charging blade as my first weapon. Then got beaten by the bowlcut dinos in the second mission, when every hit from me started bouncing off. And finally drowned in the Japanese dream of having menus in submenus about menus (Just like they love wrapping every thing in 7 layers of plastic).
After taking a break to grab some water, for few years, I still couldn't drop off the feeling that I was missing on something if I didn't finish the game. So this time I builded some information before hand and even spent a mont forcing the game down the throats of my three friends.
Lo and behold, we are loving it.

But I have few more questions now after playing a while.

In terms of equipment, should we spend time getting everything? Like I love collecting and grinding, but my friends not that much. Where is the balance?
Does this game have "transmog" system where you can change the appearance of your stuff?
What are the equipment we should avoid, in terms of trying to keep it fair? Someone told me there was like catch up gear for the dlc. We missed buying the dlc from last sale, so we prolly do it after world. Also I noticed that there is this event going on, with some 🌺 and 🐝 action ❤️🤔, where you can get this event gear with the tokens. It seemed much stronger than the others.
And finally how bad is it, if we don't buy the DLC straight away?

My friend was just (5 days ago) diagnosed with stomach cancer, stage 4, and is in hospital. She just took job 2 mo ago in NY for company with about 300 employees. She has COBRA insurance from last job. Supposed to get insurance from new employer 4/1. I have been asked by family to help with disability and insurance. Not my area at all and I live in CA where my friend moved from. Is there any way my friend can keep her job if she is out for 2-3 months getting treatment and on disability? If she loses her job, how long can she get/keep disability? How can she get/keep insurance? If I email her HR that she will be out for 3mos and needs Togo on disability do they need to reapond to me or does my friend need to make the request? Desperate to help her but have spent a week researching and am afraid I don’t know what I don’t know.

25% Rule for Intellectual Property

Patent or trademark owners use the 25% rule as a yardstick for defining a reasonable amount of royalty payments. The rule assumes that a licenseeshould retain at most 75% of the profits of a patented product given that s/he took on the bulk of the risks of developing the product and bringing the intellectual property to the market. The patent owner takes the remainder as a license royalty.
Setting the value of intellectual property is a complex matter. Although royalties are typically assessed against revenues, the 25% rule applies to profits. Furthermore, the 25% rule does not closely define what "gross profit" includes, which creates ambiguity in the valuation calculation. Because it's a simple rule, it does not take into account the costs associated with marketing the product. For example, the holder of a copyright will receive a 25% royalty, though the party doing the selling usually incurs the cost of attracting demand in the market through advertising.
In the 2011 court case of Uniloc USA, Inc. v. Microsoft Corp, the court of appealsfor the Federal Circuit ruled that the 25 percent rule may not be used as a starting point for a patent damage analysis bound for the courtroom. The appeals court concluded that the rule does not rise to an admissible level of evidence and may not be relied upon in a patent lawsuit in federal court. While the 25% rule may still be used by other parties in estimating a proposed patent royalty, it should not be considered a legal mandate.2
