I received $800 in funds because I taught a course that had a large enrollment last semester. I have to spend the funds on teaching-related materials, such as a student course assistant, equipment, or supplies. I really can't think of anything to spend the money on.
I am hesitant to hire a student teaching assistant because I feel that would be a lot of work to explain to them how to grade the assignments, especially if they have not taken the course. But maybe someone here can alleviate those concerns?
Is there anything you all can think of that helped your teaching? I have to justify it through the use of teaching. Personally, I would use the funds for a tablet and a new book bag, but I am not sure they would go for that.
I have to spend the funds by the end of the academic year. Help!

Arrogance. These fireteams are the absolute fastest to disband after one failed try. Without provocation y’all will just dip because you lack the patience.
Elitism. There was a point where you didn’t know what to do and someone taught you. Pay it back. Have some patience and understand that with more people who are taught how to play comes more people who know how to play.
Communication. I’m my experience these fireteams expect a flawless encounter communicating via text chat or without communication at all.
Side note: guided games have been in beta for years. Does anyone use them? Why are they still an option?

My French teachers in high school were African men, one 🇨🇲 & one 🇸🇳, so I feel like I have a superpower for spotting people’s nationalities in French. So there is this bodega around the corner from my job (it looks like a real grocery store too. The owner struck gold if I do say so myself.). I was buying something to drink. I had a small inkling that the cashier was Senegalese so, despite my social anxiety, I just asked. And I was right! He is a softspoken middle-aged man but his face lit up. I’m the only person who has noticed this, he said. We spoke both French and English—though I could kick myself for this one glaring grammatical mistake. I asked him about life in New York, where we live. He is happy to live here because the city allows him to have documentation. I told him I am actually from a few states away. You’ll never guess… he also used to live in the city next to the one I lived in for 15 years. Not only that, but he used to work in my state of birth. I marveled at how fucking small this world is. A man from 6,000 kilometers away has lived in the same 3 states as me. We exchaged numbers and will catch up on the days I work. 🍟

2023.03.27 02:02 KarateDimension Newer cars but with same vibe as something from the 2010s?

I guess I'm a picky car buyer or just stuck in the past but I don't know anything about cars beyond how to drive them and I need to get a new one. Are there any newer cars (I don't mind buying used as long as it's safe and will last a long time) that fit this description:

Definitely less than $35k but preferably under $30k. If it's under $20k even better.
Good MPG, preferably hybrid or electric I guess(?) but it must be able to run on gas for long trips. Nothing under 40MPG for sure, preferably something over 45 MPG.
An actual hatchback like a Honda Fit, not an SUV compact/crossoveetc. or one of those hatchbacks that just looks like a sedan. Back seats must be able to fold down.
Automatic with a normal stick shift in the normal place with a normal parking break. I don't want to turn a knob or press a button. I could compromise on the parking break as long as the stick shift is normal.
Buttons and knobs for air conditioning and radio. I do not want a fancy touch screen or an iPad glued onto the dashboard or any built in navigation, nothing like that. I could compromise on this somewhat as long as it's not completely obstructive like the cars with the glued on iPad, and there are at least some knobs like for AC.
Something reliable that will last 15+ years and when I take it to the mechanic it doesn't cost an arm and a leg to fix. I know that Honda fits this bill, but I looked on their website and all their cars just look horrible.

I just feel like I totally do not have the vocabulary or foundation of knowledge to find a car like this. I've looked on Honda's website and a few other car brands that I know of, but it only shows this year's cars, idk what they named their cars the last 5 years or how to see what they looked like or even that many brands or how to find out. Am I actually just describing a 10+ year old car and I need to get with the times, or is there something like this out there that was made more recently?

I'm finally accepting that I'm a trans boy. Now what?
now gender therapist
now hormone decisions
now deciding on a new name (i really like Kai but i'm scared it's too cliche for trans guys)
now telling my friends
now telling my professors
now telling my family
now dealing with my transphobic SIL and hoping she doesn't cut me off from my baby nephew
now explaining to my grandparents, and who even fucking knows how they'll react
Now everything I've ever known changes.
I know transitioning has so many positives. I know repression isn't an option anymore because I've tried every unhealthy coping mechanism and risked my life with several of them. I'm only 20 years old and I've already destroyed my body in so many ways. My issues just keep getting more dangerous, but I really don't want to die. I've just been trying to escape the self hatred, the wrongness, the daily exhaustion of living as someone I'm not. And the more I explore my gender, the more I feel like I've been dreaming my whole life and now I'm waking up, or a fog is lifting. I actually feel like I could heal and recover and live a happy life if I transition.
So I know it's the right decision, I know it is. The thought of living as a boy is so exciting I could cry but it also feels so incredibly far off. And now that I'm not repressing it, my dysphoria has Severely and Rapidly intensified. I'm not sure I've ever hated myself quite this much. Even with my new binder on, even with my hair short and my roommates using he/him pronouns, all these great things -- it's like the moments of good have temporarily amplified all the bad. Every day I get constantly whiplashed back and forth. I'm tired.
I know these feelings are all common among new "baby trans" people. I know it'll get better. But right now all I can feel is terrified and overwhelmed.
SO!! tldr: Tell me some things that have happened since you accepted yourself / started transitioning that made all the difficulty and pain worth it. Flood me with your moments of euphoria! Drown me in trans joy!
What do I have to look forward to?

I've known about the electroweak force for quite a bit of time, but I haven't really investigated it until I discovered this goofy-ah thing called electroweak burning that TURNS QUARKS INTO ANTILEPTONS! It also emits a massive amount of energy (9 quarks -> 3 antileptons + 300 GeV), and according to my (very crudely done) calculations, 1 gram of hydrogen contains the necessary amount of quarks that, using electroweak burning, is capable of releasing ~9,000,000,000,000,000 joules or ~2,000,000 tons of tnt worth of energy (the bomb dropped on Hiroshima was only 1,500 tons of tnt). This shouldn't be possible because that is ~100 times as efficient as using perfect mass-energy conversion.
Basically, how the hell does electroweak burning turn a quark into an antilepton, and why is it so efficient!?

I recently started selling my jewelry in a few local store, I make handmade polymer clay earrings, necklaces, bracelets, keychains, etc. mostly accessories… one store recently opened back in January. I’ve had some small issues but one thing that has really bothered me is the girl who owns the store takes pictures of her + other people for advertising and marketing store merch….. she + the other models wear the sweatshirts & t shirts sold there that are made via other vendors… but also they are wearing my earrings which I find very unsanitary and not very hygienic. I don’t know what to say other than people don’t want earrings that have been worn/used …. I am thinking about taking my things out of the store for good since I’ve already had issues…. How should I confront this situation?

2023.03.27 02:02 Mikaela24 Anyone feel like they aren't disabled enough to "act" that way?

Act is in quotes for a reason. I obviously know being disabled isn't an act. It's a very real and debilitating thing for many ppl around the world.
Sometimes I catch myself thinking that I'm "acting too crippled" when it's not necessary. Like using my cane or even just sitting down as I wait for the bus. I feel like because I'm young I shouldn't be taking up resources or making a "fool" of myself by being visibly disabled. The dirty looks I get from older ppl certainly don't help.
So I just suffer in silence. Today I wanted to use my cane on my way home but didn't because I just felt awkward and undeserving. I'm not sure how to get over this feeling.

I miss how crossbows only took up a single weapon slot. Using shields in combination with the heavy crossbow was such an awesome combo. I also miss the original ending of the game, where the Beheaded cries out in frustration about the King's death not changing anything. I wish that ending was kept, and you would need to do something else to awaken the Giant and progress towards the true ending.

Hi! So I used to have a LOT of hair. My hair has thinned out so much, I’ve lost 70% of my hair and a lot of gray hairs are sprinkling in. Any idea how to stop this? I’m only 24!!!
Lost 27 pounds in 2 months (sept-oct 2022, from 160 lbs to 133 lbs, 5’8 female 24yrs old, had a lot of stress going on and just drastically reduced food intake). Thought that was the reason but I’m eating normally now and the hair is still thinning. It’s extremely dry and brittle too.
It’s alarming how little hair I have left, it’s giving me panic attacks daily. Doctors are booked and I can’t go for another few weeks. Please, does anyone have any advise on how to stop this and fix it?? Thank you.

1) Sub votes on one Lover song to remove the from game (google form) 2) Use All The Girls You Loved Before on 1989’s side to make 17 tracks 3) Use a song for a different album via album sorting that ended up on 1989’s list (google form to vote)

Ok so this might be a bit long and grammar might be off because I’m writing on my phone but I (13)F (I know I’m young I just don’t have anyone else to talk to) have a strained relationship with my family because they put me through alot of trauma but they haven’t owned up to it.
Anyways I’m a full time carer for my mum (46)F because she is terminally Ill and I’m the only one constantly around to help and she adores my sister(19)F she is the golden child because she had the child first and everything like that but I’m the mistake child because I’m not academically smart and I have problems with severe adhd and anxiety. But recently my mum and grandmother have been pushing me towards subjects my sister used to do well at eg.art and maths yet I am horrible at these and I’m in the uk so I’m in year 8 and they want me to start being like my sister and they have winded me up about it since I was about 10 so two days ago I snapped and told them both in rough terms “I get your unwell but that is not a excuse to treat me like sh:t because I’m not a perfect poise doll like my sister is you have mentally and emotionally abused me since I was six I was so young I didn’t have a childhood because of you!” Now I feel horrible because my mum started crying and the rest of the family went ballistic at me and started screaming how I’m a spoilt brat and everything but yeah uh any advice in what to do now because I’ve been giving them the silent treatment But Reddit AITA?
