So, I just came out of watching ROTB and man I am so disappointed. I don't understand why the early reviewers hyped it up.

• IMAX / 3D: This movie had no IMAX 1.43 or 1.78 scenes which is kinda shocking to me. I remember how spectacular Bumblebee and Transformers Revenge of the Fallen, Age of Extinction and The Last Knight looked in IMAX. Kinda baffling that they spend 200 million on this. If the movie was shot in 2.39:1, they could have focused on 3D just like like Dark of the Moon which was one of the best 3D films since Avatar. And yes, the 3D in ROTB looked very generic. The 3D effect just exists for the sake of it, nothing amazing to be honest. Avoid IMAX if you can and watch it in a Dolby 3D.
• Music / Soundtrack / Sound Design: While the sound design was solid none of the music was memorable. The only music I liked was the 2 tracks which were composed by Steve Jablonsky. Bumblebee has an awesome score and the good thing was it didn't rely on Jablonsky's themes. Honestly, there was no need for Jablonsky's theme since this is not Bayverse. And also what was that hip-hop/trap music played in the final battle? I was expecting something like It's Our Fight or Dinobot Charge which literally gives me goosebumps everytime I listen it. Autobots+Primals battling Terrorcons+Predacons and all they decided to use hip-hop music instead of epic-orchestral music. Why?
• Mass Shifting: While I know the majority of the audiences don't care about this thing but one of the reason I appreciate the Bay trilogy is when robots transform into vehicles, they preserve their mass and size. I think Bumblebee also implemented this thing. But in ROTB, when Mirage fuses with Noah to become a powered exo-suit, I expected him to become a little bigger but it seemed like he just became a Titanfall pilot. Not a big thing but I thought I should point it out.
• Action / Setpieces: In terms of set design TF1 had Downtown LA, TF2 had Egypt and Pyramids, TF3 had Downtown Chicago, TF4 had Hong Kong, and Bumblebee had Sector 7 Shipyard. But ROTB had a barren wasteland? I think they could have chosen a better and more spectacular location considering there is Autobots + Primals vs Terrorcons + Predacons scene. ROTB has more action compared to Bumblebee but I think the action in Bumblebee looked damn impressive. Micheal Bay on the other hand is on a different level.
• Direction: As of now there are 3 directors. Micheal Bay, Travis Knight, and Steven Caple Jr. Prior getting attached to Transformers Micheal Bay was known for The Rock, Pearl Harbor and Bad Boys. Bay understood how VFX works with live-action photography and cinematography. And no wonder why his TF films looked so impressive on a technical scale. Travis Knight is an Animator who directed Paranorman and Kubo and the Two Strings. His sense of animation and scale was visible in Bumblebee. Coming to Steven Caple Jr., I don't see any impressive films on his resume apart from Creed 2 especially films that relied heavily on animation and visual effects. Although I think he directed the movie well but the action and spectacle fell flat for me.
• Visual Effects: Initially when I saw the trailers, It looked bad. Although I really dig the design of Optimus Prime and Optimus Primal. In the movie, some of the effects were improved but when you compare it with Bay TF films and Bumblebee, ROTB doesn't look good which makes me think they should have chosen ILM for the CG. Also it feels like the majority of the scenes were shot in overcast weather. So, now I understand why Bay chooses strong directional lighting in his shots because he wants the reflections of the robots and skin textures to pop out.
• Characters: Optimus Prime (Peter Cullen) was best thing about this whole movie. Everytime he was on screen, he made his presence felt. The rest of the characters including humans and robots (except Bumblebee) were kinda obnoxious. Shia LaBeouf and Hailee Steinfeld made their characters likable and somewhat funny which I kinda missed in this one.
• Runtime: While I found the runtime and pacing to be decent, I'm assuming a lot of scenes got edited out for whatever reason.

I wanted ROTB to be good especially after knowing it was a direct sequel to Bumblebee. But I thought it wasn't. Yes, the opening scene of Bumblebee was IT. Nothing beats that. THAT was the Transformers movie I wanted. Consider this as my rant but I expected too much from this film. Maybe it was my nostalgia/love for Bay's films or appreciation for Bumblebee but for whatever reason, I was disappointed. It's fine if you loved it but this was just my personal opinion.

A recent Reddit policy change threatens to kill many beloved third-party mobile apps, making a great many quality-of-life features not seen in the official mobile app permanently inaccessible to users.
On May 31, 2023, Reddit announced they were raising the price to make calls to their API from being free to a level that will kill every third party app on Reddit. This is so catastrophic that at the time of this post some high profile third party apps have already announced their shut down dates.
The moderation team of ArtistLounge and ArtBusiness are reliant on these apps and should they become unavailable our team will be unable to care for these subreddits with consistency and speed. This is likely to also result in members of our team being unable to support our community at all. Every member of this moderation team is a volunteer who is passionate about art and the community that has been built here. We want to make this a place we all feel safe, informed and help it grow to support artists world-wide in finding their community and success in art. Should the proposed policy changes take place our team will be severely impacted and, as a user, you will see a decrease in quality and safety in our subreddits.
For many users, the shut down of these third-party apps will result in the inability to use Reddit on mobile, and in turn make Reddit completely inaccessible. The inability to use third party tools may also greatly impact users who require additional functionality and accessibility tools to access Reddit such as screen readers.
Although not immediately directly impacted, this is also a potential step toward killing other ways of customizing Reddit, such as Reddit Enhancement Suite, toolkit or the use of the old.reddit.com desktop interface and it’s CSS. ArtistLounge and ArtBusiness would cease to function without the use of such tools as the majority of our subreddit customisation relies on them to function.
Don’t let them take away what makes Reddit special

What's the plan?

On June 12th, many subreddits will be going dark to protest this policy. Some will return after 48 hours: others will go away permanently unless the issue is adequately addressed, since many moderators will be unable to safely support their subreddits.
At this time, there are currently no plans for ArtistLounge and ArtBusiness to extend the time beyond the planned 48 hour blackout. This may be subject to change. However, we will continue to keep information about the blackout, why it is happening, and how to support those protesting, clearly visible for as long as it is needed.
Additionally, we ask our community to support us in researching or generating ideas on how to create a safer home “hub” of sorts to archive our information and create a community that is not reliant on one singular platform. Our subreddits are special. I do not know of a place like this anywhere else on the internet. We cannot lose what we have built.
There has been an AMA/announcements from reddit since our original poll. However our concerns have not been alleviated by this and the poor treatment of third-party app developers, the reddit community, and this situation as a whole means we will continue with the planned blackout.

  • Stay off Reddit entirely on June 12th through the 14th - instead, take to your favorite non-Reddit platform of choice and make some noise in support!
• Don't be a jerk.
  • Please make every effort to be as polite, reasonable and law-abiding as possible and remember the core value of our subreddit: to be kind to one another.
• Make art.
  • Use the voice you have, your creative spirit, to make change. Help this fuel your artistic passions.

1 Would you recommend your current job to someone like me? What do you like most about it and how did end up there?
A little about me: - 22M - BSc. Business Administration with a gpa of 7.8 out of 10 / 3.82 out of 4.00 (translated to US) - MSc. Finance with a gpa of 8 out of 10 - Wrote CFA level 1 and started studying for level 2 - About to start an internship at the VC fund of a large European bank (for 6 months)
2 I’m more interested in asset management. If I want to end up at a big asset manager, is the better option to score an internship/job there right away, or try to get a job at the VC fund and move into AM later on?

to preface this, I’ve known my partner since we were children, but we’ve never really been close. our parents families were very close in our home country, but when I was young my family moved away overseas, so we only met when visiting back home (the last time we’ve met in person would have been 7+ years ago).
I am also a part of very small religious minority, and it is important for me that my future partner shares that with me, so when people talk about there being lots of fish in the ocean, my equivalent of the ocean is a pond - there really aren’t a lot of options.
Over a year ago my parents suggested the prospect of me talking to my now partner and considering him for a relationship - they know his family well, he’s got a good background, is an overall good guy and is currently studying as international student away from our home country. After some initial hesitation, the two of us started messaging.
there was a bit of awkwardness but we were talking back and forth for a couple of months. (Both of us are currently in different countries) Although we shared a lot of similar interests, even watched a show together, I felt like we weren’t really able to connect on a deeper level. We never really FaceTimed or called during this period. The only “voice call” was when we watched a movie once together and the entire experience was very awkward and not something I really enjoyed. He did however even send me a birthday present that I liked. But after a while I messaged him and asked to end things because I did feel like we weren’t really connecting, and I couldn’t envision him as my life partner. During this time I feel like my mindset was very “let’s just try this out but it doesn’t really matter where it goes”
A few months later after some self reflection, I considered the possibility of reaching out to him again. I felt like perhaps the first time around maybe I didn’t invest myself more intentionally in the relationship? Although I did put time and energy into it I wasn’t really sure where it was going to go. Plus, as I mentioned before, there aren’t really many options for people who I could be in a relationship with. But he was !! a nice person!! so I thought it worth to maybe give it a try but with more intention, with more commitment in this being something long term. Now, in saying this, at the time I was fully aware how this looks - to be the person that has ended things but then wants to start them again. And I was also aware that if things didn’t work out a second time, and if I were to end things Again, I know that it’s even worse. This was something that was discussed before we officially “got together”. However, both of us assumed that this would be something for the long run, and that’s the mindset with which we were in this relationship. This time we called often on FaceTime, at least every few days, and we’re texting daily. Things seemed to be going well. He was nice! and now taking this back to religion, there are a lot of factors in which some men tend to be conservative and controlling over their partner, but he showed none of this. He was happy to go with my whims. However, the only issue I experienced was that our conversation was something that often had some silences. I didn’t feel like we would have the experience of “talking until 3am” where you feel so engrossed in conversation and spending time together that time seems to fly by and you’re just enjoying yourself. This is something I experience with friends but not so much with him. And to me, it’s something really important. To be able to just have your partner as the one person you’d want to spend time with more than anyone else, but it wasn’t really there. This was a bit of a realisation I had a few weeks ago, and when I thought about it I realised that the last few months of our relationship, i don’t think I’ve truly liked him romantically. I’ve had crushes before and I didn’t really feel that with him. I’m not sure if we had a honeymoon period or not, but I do think that in the first few months I was trying to tell myself that a lot of what we were doing (sharing interests together, sending each other presents, him indulging in the things I enjoy, calling each other by sweet names etc etc.) alot of our values in general also align, so objectively I thought we’d be compatible. alot of these are things that I’ve romanticised as the ideals of a relationship, but perhaps it’s like I just wanted this relationship to be romanticised. But now I’m coming to the conclusion that in regards to romantic feelings for him, I’m feeling a bit dry. I definitely care for him as a person but I don’t think I can envision him as being my life partner. I think I liked the idea of the relationship more than I liked him. I’ve talked to some family about it and they’ve said that you know once you meet someone like this in real life or live together then surely your bound to catch feelings, but I feel like that’s leaving too much to chance. The last few weeks since I’ve been spending more time thinking about it, has been a busy time at work. And I’ve been using that as an excuse to be a bit delayed with our messages and not really having the chance to call often (keeping in mind we are also in completely different time zones). I’ve been “dragging things out” I know but I just wanted to clear my mind and make a decision. I think I’ve come to the point where I want to end the relationship but I’m not too sure how to tell him this. I’m aware that I’m in the wrong moreso than him. And that I’m the person that has been coming back and forth starting and ending this relationship. But I don’t think it’s fair on him for me to stay as his partner when I don’t see him as a romantic light. As great as he would be as a partner I just don’t see him that way. I wanted to give it some time I think to see if I could but seeing as the last time I cut things off it was about the same reason as this, I feel as if I continued in this relationship I would end up having doubts at some point. It’s possible that this being a long distance relationship has been a contributor, and it’s also my first relationship. But essentially that’s where I’m at. I just don’t know how to convey all this to him. I know it will hurt but what’s the best way to communicate it?

So I’ve played Diablo 3 previously but got really into Diablo 4 since the beta. I’ve been playing barbarian on WT2. Currently at the act 3 brol boss fight, and noticed that I almost deal no damage. I don’t really know if this is because of my gear / build or simply the difficulty level.
I’ve been using the WW build to try to get to level 50. Im planning on switching to rend build then.
What is smart ? How do I know my skill tree / gear are right ? Where do I gain such info ?
Any tips overall ?

So I'm not a parent,I'm a sister,I'm 18 years old and my new baby brother is 14 months,my mom leaves him to me to take care of while she goes either to a neighbours house for coffe,or to tend to crops in the garden,the baby is with me at least 2-3 hours of the day but in breaks,so like 30 minutes each hour for 8 hours approx,and I noticed,that even when he is fed,changed,well rested,when all his needs are met,he will ask to be with mom,and not want me,no matter how much we play or how much care I give,so my question is,how long is a small child supposed to stay with their sibling,and considering he is a one year old baby will this stress that he faces when mom is away and he is with me,will it affect him on a deeper level in the future and does it make him more prone to develop abandonment issues?
