Siltstrider Chitin Armor question
2023.06.08 13:37 tnafan Siltstrider Chitin Armor question
So I was very happy to see
this armor set being added finally, however the set in question only spawns on a Reaver lord outside of Nchardak. Problem being that I already cleared it and the NPC doesn't respawn anywhere as it is unique.
My question is: does anyone know an alternative way how to get this armor set? I tried messing around with the debug menu to respawn the NPC, only to find out I have no clue how any of this works.
If anyone could help me out with this problem, that would be tremendous.

2023.06.08 13:23 Rvdheuvel Pc randomly crashes due to hardware issue
Hi guys,
Since the 2nd of this month my PC has been starting to work against me for no clear reason to me. Around 1 to 3 times a day my PC will randomly freeze and will not be operable anymore. The screens are stuck and the PC will automatically restart after some time or I will have to switch the power button manually.
reliability report I don't run any big programs and play some very low demanding games that never caused any issues. The crashes are random and don't occur during a specific event or program. Furthermore, the PC is only about 2.5 years old and shouldn't behave like it is doing right now. The specifics of the hardware error are stated below, I have absolutely no clue where to start as I have 0 knowledge about most terms here.
specific error that keeps happening I hope someone can help me out as it has been quite a frustrating experience the past couple days! If I need to provide more info please tell me and I will add it asap.
Thanks in advance!

2023.06.08 13:21 Drakolf Dragon Rising- 23. Tiamat:
I had always thought, if we came across the one who had irrevocably changed our lives, that I would have been ready to fight, that my hatred would be enough to ensure their death.
The terror that gripped my mind was far more palpable than any malice I could have conjured, it was far more overpowering than any hatred I could muster.
Death had risen within our territory, and the gulf between her power and mine was like comparing a single grain of sand to the desert. I wanted to run, to claw my way into the earth and never surface again, to curl up and never be found again.
"Citizens of Darastrixthurhi!" My Emperor bellowed, his voice cutting through the panicked screams. "The one who would have claimed you as mindless servants stands before you, our brethren have already marched forward, will you abandon them!?"
He grinned, his eyes wide and manic. "We who were born to be servitors to Dragons,
we will slay the greatest one of them all." The fear ebbed, replaced by a calmness that allowed me to stand beside him. "To charge forth is to embrace death, ours is the will to defy that fate! Charge!" Fearlessly, we charged forth, our weapons and magic primed to fight against Tiamat.
One of her heads looked in our direction, and there was a blinding light.
When I lowered my hand, it was as the bright light faded. I blinked, I... wasn't outside anymore. I was stood in a crystalline palace. I looked around, confused and disoriented, that's when I noticed my blind eye was no longer blind.
"It takes a nobly foolish soul to charge into an unwinnable battle against a deity." I turned around to see Bahamut, in the form of a Kobold, albeit with shimmering scales of platinum, his eyes shown with a bright azure, a small smile on his lips.
"What happened?" I asked. "Where am I?"
"My palace." He spoke. "You are dead, Ruuk."
I felt numb.
"Dead?" I squeaked.
"Kurtulmak
was a lesser deity." Bahamut spoke. "His efforts were most certainly noble, in the end, knowing that fleeing was not an option, as Tiamat would simply kill everyone regardless.
"I barely even moved, how can I be
dead?" I asked.
"She breathed flames so hot, you and everyone around you were instantly incinerated, my own Paladins fared no better, and Kurtulmak simply lasted the longest. I- arrived too late."
"What happens now?" I asked hollowly.
"Kurtulmak's death on the Material Plane resulted in his divine essence scattering, any Human who wanders into the territory you held will become a Kobold, certainly, but without his guidance, they will not remember who they used to be. Tiamat has already begun using this to her advantage."
"So, that's it?" I asked. "All of that effort, and she just wins, just like that?"
"Who said anything about her
winning?" He asked. "I may have arrived too late, I did not leave without scoring my own blow against her. Of seventy thousand Kobolds... ten thousand remain, they are the ones who were simply out of the blast range, who were lucky enough to avoid being killed... Your brother, Tallyn, has taken on your role of Imperator, and he has taken on the duty of ensuring everyone who has died can be resurrected."
"How long will that take?" I asked. "How long has it
been?"
"One year." He stated. I felt cold, numb inside. "I have had my agents scouring the planes for your soul, it wasn't where we expected it would end up, and thankfully we did not need to look in the Abyss... No, your soul-"
"WAS IN MY HANDS." A shimmer in the crystalline walls gradually faded into existence, a pale-scaled Kobold walked toward us, yet his presence was far larger than his body.
"I AM ASGORATH, AND YOU HAVE CAUGHT MY ATTENTION." I didn't know why I knelt so immediately, a mixture of fear and reverence burned through my entire body, the only thing that kept me from immediately pledging myself to him, was the sense that he was neither interested in, nor cared about such things.
"YOURS IS THE TALE UNWRITTEN, THE FATE UNTOLD." His voice rattled the very foundations of the earth.
"YOU WHO WOULD HAVE BEEN THE ADJUDICATOR OF BAHAMUT'S WILL, HAD YOU STAYED YOUR PATH." His voice chilled the very air, which burned away at everything it touched.
"YOU WHO WOULD HAVE BEEN THE HUSBAND OF KURTULMAK, HAD TIME AND FATE BEEN ON YOUR SIDE." His voice quickened my blood, yet I felt far more calm and at ease than I had ever been.
"YOU WHO QUELLED THE FLAMES OF HATRED, WHO TRICKED A GOD OF TRICKERY, WHOSE DEVOTION ALMOST LED TO REDEMPTION." His voice stoked the flames of hatred in my heart, yet tended the blaze as tenderly as a child on his first camping trip.
"YOU WHO ARE COMPLETELY AND UTTERLY UNREMARKABLE IN EVERY CONCEIVABLE WAY, LED AND GUIDED WITHOUT EFFORT ON YOUR PART... HAVE EARNED MY PASSING REGARD." "Great Asgorath, I haven't done anything to be worthy of this." I said.
"YOU HAVE NOT. YET HERE YOU ARE, BROUGHT BEFORE ANOTHER BY MY OWN DISCRETION. YOU ARE FAR TOO UNPREDICTABLE TO SIMPLY ALLOW TO DIE." I blinked. "What do you mean?" I asked.
Asgorath held his hand out, a pale golden flame danced upon his palm.
"RUUK STINGTAIL, AS HISTORY REPEATS, YET WITH DIFFERENT ACTORS, I OFFER A CHOICE I HAVE GIVEN LONG AGO. YOU CAN EITHER RETURN TO LIFE, WITH THE STRENGTH TO REBUILD YOUR EMPIRE, OR YOU CAN STEP INTO DIVINITY, AND TAKE ON THE MANTLE KURTULMAK ONCE BORE." I hesitated. "Kurtulmak, is he-? Is he gone for good? Is there no way he can be brought back?"
"MAKE YOUR CHOICE, I WILL NOT ASK A SECOND TIME." I nodded. "Bring me back." I said. "I won't become a God, if it means I'll be forced to live without him."
Asgorath simply nodded, his hands closing around the flame.
"NOTHING OF YOUR BODY REMAINS, I SHALL SPEAK IT INTO BEING. LIVE, RUUK STINGTAIL." I felt myself yanked away, pulled an impossibly long distance through planes I could hardly fathom, my soul a falling star spiraling, spiraling, down upon a small planet almost devoid of magic. I streaked through the sky, the throne room of Darastrixthurhi right before me. I saw Tallyn sat upon the throne, addressing his Council, he looked at me, his eyes wide as he threw himself off the throne, upon which I crashed into.
My skeleton grew from nothing, followed by my nervous system, then my circulatory system, my muscles followed soon after, and then my flesh returned. I stared at the infinitely long expanse that connected me to the cosmos, yet it rapidly shortened, flowing into me until it was fully within my body.
I gasped for breath, I looked at my shaking hands, then felt my face, my body, still alive, still breathing, I could still see with both eyes, but the eye that had once been blind burned such that I had to close it.
The Kobolds who were gathered drew their swords, clearly terrified by my arrival. Tallyn stepped around the staircase, his own sword drawn.
I caught my breath, then looked upon my subjects and said, "Is that any way to greet your Imperator?"
Tallyn's sword fell from his hands, the recognition was instantaneous. He scrambled up the stairs, almost falling off again, and he wrapped me in a hug.
"Ruuk?" He asked.
"That's more like it." I said, reciprocating his hug. "I'm home, Tallyn."

2023.06.08 12:39 Poldaran I think someone missed last month's quota...
Phone call scammers. You know em. You hate em. But at the end of the day, they're just drones like us. Of course, they're on the Chaotic Evil side of the spectrum while we're on the Lawful Evil...what do you mean? You're not? It's really just me?
Weird.
I mean, I know there's the unicorn. But I was thinking black unicorn, riding down the side of an erupting volcano as we drink, drink, drink from a chalice filled with the blood and tears of our enemies.
No?
Anyway. They often work in call centers. That's the first clue you get about what kind of call you've just answered. You can hear the din in the background. And that means it's either tech support - who you haven't called, by the way - or your company's reservation line - ugh, am I right? - or something else.
Something sinister. Like a third party OTA. Or one of these chucklefucks. The topic of tonight's story/rant.
Well, just like any outgoing sales call center, these people have certain pressures. Gotta make the "sale". Gotta pump those numbers up up up!
I've always hated sales. Boss breathing down your neck. Asking why you haven't been moving units this month. Yeah screw that stress. While I can't say that there's no dollar figure that would induce me to take such a job, I will say that the number is cost prohibitive at least.
So what does this have to do with tonight? Well, I got a call. Our cast includes "The Owner"(dun dun DUUUNNNNNN!) and me(The One and Only Poldaran, accept no substitutions or rain checks).
Let's set the scene. I'm about to make a quick pit stop, so I start walking away from the desk, only to hear one of my least favorite sounds. The phone. I walk over, grab it and... it's a bad connection. No one on the other line. I make sure to let anyone who can hear me know that I can't hear them, and to try calling back, maybe we'll get a better connection.
I decide to wait five minutes. I mean, yeah, I kinda gotta pee. But it's not that bad. Minute four, phone rings again. Different number. Interesting. I pick up and give my Standard Hotel Greeting.
Me: "...and this is Poldaran speaking. How can I assist you this evening?"
TO: "Hello, can you hear me this time?"
Me: "Ah, yes. Sorry about that on the last one. It's still a bit staticky, but I can hear you. What can I help you with tonight?"
TO: "I need to leave a message for Miss . It's very important."
Me, internally: "Ah, he's bringing out the serious voice. Wants to sound like he's commanding someone. This is almost certainly a scam."
Me: "We can do that. Lemme grab a notepad real quick."
TO: "Do you know who this is, Poldaran?"
Me, internally: "Well, I'm certain I do now, but let's see how you decide to play this."
Me: "Sorry, I can't say I do. I've got that notepad and I'm ready for your message."
TO: "This is , THE OWNER."
Yeah, emphasized the everloving shit out of those two words.
Me, internally: "Hmm. Well, definitely a scammer. Haven't done a witch test in a while. Nah. We'll just play dumb."
Me: "Sorry, I didn't quite catch that name. Can you repeat that? Also, maybe spell it for me?"
TO: "THIS. IS. THE. OWNER."
Me: "I still need your name."
TO: "I don't have to give you my name. I am THE OWNER."
Me: "I'm sorry to hear about your dementia. Forgetting our own names is one of those tragedies. Is there someone I can call for you? A friend or family member?"
TO: "FUCK YOU, POLDARAN!"
I'd say someone has a case of the Mondays, but then the rest of you would be legally obligated to kick my ass. Also, it's like, Thursday or something at this point. So the logical conclusion is that scam call center drone is getting shit from his boss about not moving enough units or whatever. Probably missed last month's quota and is looking at termination if he doesn't turn this franchise around.
Couldn't happen to a nicer guy, IMO.

2023.06.08 12:32 Dystributfunctionion [Partially Lost] BIC Universal Typeface Experiment
In 2014, BIC, the maker of Bic pens, launched the Universal Typeface Experiment, a promotional website where visitors could submit their handwriting along with a few demographics, including country, gender, age, handedness, and industry. The website was hosted by Tribal DDB and developed by MediaMonks. By crowdsourcing handwriting worldwide throughout 2014, they released the "Universal Typeface" as a downloadable font.
According to reviews of the website, the experiment remained online at
http://theuniversaltypeface.com/ until sometime in 2015. Aside from submiting handwriting, visitors could compare their own handwriting with those of various demographic groups and browse through the handwriting of those groups characer-by-character.
It seems like the website went down around mid-2016, presumably as the campaign lapsed. Sometime in 2018, the domain was taken over by an electronics review website also taking on the name "The Universal Typeface". There seems to be absolutely no connection between this mediocre review website and the previous experiment. In late 2022, the domain expired and became a parked domain site. Finally, in 2023, the domain simply points nowhere.
Sadly, I only learned of this website in 2018, after going down a rabbit hole of handwriting analysis articles. A collection of over 1.725 million characters collected from over 150 countries virtually disappeared, a fate all too common for promotional materials. Trying to access the site on the Internet Archive returns only a loading screen, presumably as the website scripting broke in the archival process. It really would have been interesting to browse through the collection back when it was online, especially as handwriting analysis articles seem stubbornly focused on cursive handwriting, ignoring the many people who do not write that way anymore.
While I am not too optimistic, I have been thinking of contacting BIC, Tribal DDB, and MediaMonks to see if they still have any data from it. If anyone has any clues or experiences, I would very happy to hear about them.
For the uninitiated, here is a list of reports on the site:

2023.06.08 12:27 oneboatatatime I (biological child) have an adopted brother- and we’re not loved equally
I have an adopted brother, he’s three years younger than me and my parents adopted him when he was two years old (I was five) from an asian country. Recently I have begun to realize how our childhood differed but it didn’t really hit me until my paternal grandma said that both she and my aunt and uncle took my parents aside when we were young to tell them that they couldn’t treat us so differently. Apparently they favoured me and took my side in arguments. I know that I was young and I don’t remember this happening, but it feels awful to hear since I’ve begun to reflect on my brother’s situation in the recent years. I love my brother and wouldn’t change anything, but I would never personally adopt internationally in the future because of all the horror stories from children being stolen as well as the colonial connotations of western couples paying for children from developing countries. It feels inherently selfish, and if you really cared about the children you would instead give support to that country so children can stay with parents or relatives. My brother had a heart defect at birth, and most likely his parents left him because they didn’t have the economic means to pay for the medical care he needed.
I have not noticed that me and my brother have been treated differently concerning toys or material things, but I feel that our relationships to our parents differs. I was very social and attention seeking as a child but had issues with my mental health during my ealry teen-years. I was always very studious and while school was easy for me, friends weren’t. My brother, on the other hand, has ADHD and dyslexia and has always had a really hard time in school. My mother spends a lot of time helping him with homework and studying. Still, he enjoys music and has a talent for it as well as being atletic and playing badminton several times a week. Also, he has always been very sociable and friends come easy to him. However, he is quite immature for his age. I think my mother and he are quite close while I have in period felt like I never spend time with my mother. Today we have a better relationship than earlier, but I’ve always been a bit of a daddy’s girl.
During my early teen years I fell into a depression and an eating disorder and I weren’t at all close to my brother (or really anyone during that time). In the middle of this a lady in our neighbourhood overheard my brother on the bus to school, telling another boy, a couple of years older, that our dad had hit him. That boy had a single mother and had a father that did not treat him well. The lady reported us to social services and all of us went to interviews with them. This was quite hard on all of us, but especially my father. He has constant anxiety since years back as well as seasonal depression. He has tried a lot of meds, but nothing has worked in the long run. I have no clue what my brother felt during this since we have never spoken about it, he was about 11, I was 14. I actually have no idea if what he said was true or if he wanted to relate to the other boy or get attention. My father has never been violent, when he is in a bad slump, he can be horrible to be around, but he usually tries to keep away in his bedroom during those periods of time. I don’t believe that my father would ever be violated, but what child would believe that about a parent? If I remember correctly, in the meetings my brother denied what he had supposedly said on the bus and the inquest was concluded. It all was very difficult for my father, this coincided with his seasonal depression, and he went away to our summer house for a time. I can’t remember if it was then or later, but I have a memory of my father telling me that I was the only thing that he kept on living for, implying that he was suicidal. This feels so absurd and I’ve begun to wonder if I’ve dreamed it up, but those words has an enormous effect on me still. Worth mentioning is that my parents aren’t really in love anymore. They are comfortable but almost never affectionate and I rarely see a sign of them getting joy from each other. I think they might divorce, but at the same time that would be too much work. They haven’t slept in the same bedroom for years and my mom works quite a bit, so they don’t really to things together just them. My dad also told me that he didn’t love my mother anymore during a talk we had about me feeling like my relationship to my mother was surface level and wanting to be closer.
After everything my dad is more distant to my brother and if it was noticeable before it is moreso now. He is not mean to him, just not as close. I know that none of this is my fault, and that I, who were a child, cannot be held accountable for my parents actions, but I just feel guilty. I feel guilty and ashamed of my parents and I feel concern about my brother and his feelings and well being. Sometimes we talk but he has a hard time expressing feelings, but I feel that we are closer now than before. But, in a couple of years I will probably move from home and I worry. It is not unlikely that my parents will divorce sometime in the future and I worry about what that means for my brother and both his and my relationship to our parents. He also needs a lot more support at an age where I was more independent and mature, and this adds to my worries.

2023.06.08 12:24 FragPanda Class Idea "Stained Sword"
I hope the upcoming paragraph will entertain you to some degree. I'm not that deep into the lore - so if there any mistakes don't judge me. I will be happy if you point out those mistakes in constructive way and maybe give me pointers on where i can catch up to them. I'm here for the class idea but i felt a need to give the class a bit of a background.
This is about Noriel. A knight of Zakarum who always questioned the righteousness of the actions of the church. He had to leave the church as he couldn't agree with the church and how they handled things - especially the crusades. In his heart he swore an oath to protect the people, to protect life not to conquer the lands and forcing a religion onto other people.
After he left, he joined the Demon Hunters in the Dreadlands. He heard that they focused on slaying demons and walking their respective path alone. A way of working that fit Noriels ideals. As he aquired new skills, new ways of thinking while training with the Order-masters, he engaged in battle with countless demons in the dreadlands as there was an abundance of them.
But one thing wouldn't escape his mind: death. Death was always imminent, countless and unstoppable. He saw so many knights, demon hunters and innocenct people die to likes of demons. It didn't matter how skilled they were with their swords, shields, conceilment techniques or even the ability to use holy magic. The battles against demons were always exhausting and always had the price: the life of the people trying to protect or those that should be protected.
All of this changed Noriels attitude. He had enough of it. He swore to protect life and even with the exchange of his own. So why wouldn't he go to the extreme with it and decided to delve into dark magic. If he couldn't beat all those masses in a "good" and righteous way, why shouldn't he derive from his path.
So he began to look into the ways on how to learn to wield dark magic and was soon able to join the Priests of Rathma. There he abandoned his surname, as it was expected of one as a Priest of Rathma, and worked his path to be an acolyte inside the order. Achieving the rank of acolyte was enough for Noriel to learn about the magic that he wanted to use. Magic that he could infuse the tools he was most profound with, his weaponry. He learned how to bear this tainting magic and how he could minimise the consequences of using it, not that he got rid of the risks involving it.
With that he began to wander around Sanctuary again. His only goal was to chase after demons and sending them back to the burning hells. Not once did it cross his mind, during all this, to pick up his surname again, as he thought that it would sully the name of his ancestors.
This journey continued for a while and rumors started to spread about a sole wanderer eradicating demons all on his own. Because of this he gained followers that shared the same thought: the normal ways and the light are not powerful enough to stop demons from torturing this world. While Noriel gained more and more followers, they turned this small group of individuals more into an order, nameless at the time and only equipped with one purpose.
But for the people within Sanctuary which witnessed their battles, which saw the remains of the battlefields and felt the tainted energy that was still looming around, left behind and sticking to environment, the order had gained a name from those people. This name was so fitting it spread like wildfire, every person that witnessed the order without knowing their name would connect this name in an instant to what they had witnessed. But this name wasn't just fitting, it also held the mixed feelings the people had about the order.
Order of the Stained Sword, a light cast by darkness
So with that out of the way, lets get to the class idea. I personally think that this class (even without the background i just gave) would fit really good in the diablo universe and it would also scratch my itch about a "real" sword fighting class.
So here is what I cooked for sword centered class utilizing corrupting magic: So the idea is that the main way of fighting is done with the weapons in hand and the magic they use mainly provides additional utility and dmg while "corrupting" the user to some degree Basically a every magical skill provides up and downsides for the player to play with Those magical skills would be categorized into demonic, blood and dark magic
As the main stats in D4 are always devided into two: i wanted to give this class a more connected stat spread in comparison to the other classes, as the their fighting and casting is intertwined as well Dex would provide 80% of the skill dmg stat and 20% for the resource generation and int would provide the the 20% of the skill dmg and 80% for the resource generation
For weapon proficiencies: 2h: sword, polearms, scythes 1h: daggers, swords, scythes
Core skills would consist of something along the lines of: 2 “generic” skills that can be used by any weapon combination in hand 2 skills that are equippable either way but behave differently on 1h/1h or 2h usage 1 skill enabling 2h + dagger - with a downside cause of the corrupting magic that lets the user allow to wield 2h and dagger 1 skill focusing a bit more on the magical part like weapons dancing around the character in some sort of way - you get the picture
For the class ability, I had a rough sketch in my head in which the user can choose between 3 different paths which sounds generic but I think there is some charm to it: A - deep diving into the magic - mana is a bigger factor now, skills can be used if depleted -> cost HP B1 - good ol’ half/half - sacrificing an arm and opposite leg - to acquire demonification in just those limbs, while keeping sanity - demonic enhanced combat - either way of demonifcation for the half/half would work B2 - instead of half/half focusing on demonifcation - demonic possession would also be cool and could fit this path C - staying true to its core - honing the skills of weapon mastery - maybe buff over time while not having used a corrupting skill - while the corrupting skill itself also increases in power - with greater drawbacks too
I would love to hear your thoughts about the class idea and if you think that this class would fit the diablo universe as well as i think it would. As i said any pointers regarding the background story are appreciated And with that I wish you all happy blasting - may the butcher not mess with your hardcore dreams for our fellow hardcore players

2023.06.08 12:20 Typical_Fish_7467 I can't figure out this swing rythm
I'm trying to play the rythm section of this track and because I suck at rythm I can't do it. I spent around two hours with the F#m chord and still no luck. I have basic understanding of rythm such as triplets, 16ths, etc. I watched multiple videos on swing and had no issues regarding rythm when I learned the 12 bar blues years ago. Yet, I have no clue what's going on in this song.
https://youtu.be/9Q73Dej9DYo?t=17 Could you teach me if there is some sort of framework that I can use to approach this? I've slowed the video down considerably and had no luck.

2023.06.08 12:19 TheGeekyZoologist Jurassic World: The Hegemony of Biosyn (JWD rewrite) - Act IV (2/2)
Here's the second part of Act IV. Sorry for the double post but I had no choice due to the website's limitations.
Act IV: The Clouds Burst (2/2)
To the Panic room
Frightened by the new attack, Biosyn's board of directors leave the auditorium and, guided by their escort, they head for the panic room. Meanwhile, the employees finally manage to rush out of the burning cafetaria and while some surrender to the Italians and the Austrians, others rush to the metro station or the garages in order to flee to the Biosyn village, and a fraction try to make a run for the panic room but their way is blocked by a group of guards.
On their way to the panic room, the board of directors is partly caught in a stampeding crowd. Zoe Murdoch is pushed on the ground, trampled and left behind while Nathan Quinn abandons his fellow board members.
The wage of treachery
While she also started heading to the garages, knowing that Dodgson must be there, Bigelow is attacked by Massoud. They fight but despite her skills, Massoud is a stronger opponent and he overpower Bigelow. But just as he is strangling her, the grey guard is tased by Kayla and falls unconscious. The smuggler helps the CIA agent get up and they hurry to the garages.
The raiders
Meanwhile, the mysterious soldiers have reached the laboratories, killing everyone in their path, be they Biosyn guards and mercenaries, scientists who tried to save their work, or besiegers (including Luis Olivares).
They cross the different labs. In Dr Lesser's, Wu hides from them as he is still locked up. The raiders ends up reaching their objective: The locusts' lab. When they see the nine empty rooms, the raiders seem worried and frustrated, implying they came to do something with the locusts. They then has the remaining group gassed and we see the locusts taking flight and then starting to drop dead on the floor. While some of the raiders then raid and destroy the rest of the Locusts' lab, other squad members then free the animals contained in the cages of another lab.
In the lower levels
While crawling and climbing in the vents towards the top of the Citadel, Claire sees Owen running past her as he rushes to the kennels. But the alarms' blare prevent The Raptor Whisperer from hearing his fiancée.
In the lower levels, Mia Everett is trying to capture Victoria, intending to save her from the chaos and Biosyn's clutches, but the young Achillobator attack her, biting and clawing at her throat. Grievously injured, the scientist fall and Victoria lets her bleeds to death. When Owen finds Mia, she just has the time of uttering a few words before passing away. The Raptor Whisperer sees a number of animals running in the hallways, including Victoria. But just as he plans to catch her, Biosyn employees are being chased by some of the most dangerous escapees (like the dilophosaurs). Some of those animals prevent The Raptor Whisperer from going after Victoria and he is forced to hide in the first room he can find.
Tu quoque mi fili
On their way to the garages, Ramsay and Dodgson have an argument, during which the first say he no longer want to follow the second due to his recent fits of madness (filling Maisie's head with lies; the locusts' threats; literally declaring war with the Italians and the Austrians; behaving like a dictator...), even though he believed in his vision when he was recruited years ago (Ramsay genuinely believed that Biosyn's breakthroughs could improve the world etc...). When Ramsay admits having helped Wu with discovering the truth about Charlotte's videos and breaking Maisie out of the Citadel, Dodgson seems genuinely hurt by the betrayal of his son-like figure. One too many, after those of Wu, Drummond, and Pellegrino. Their argument worsens, up until they come to blows. At one point Dodgson pulls out a pistol and shoots Ramsay in the belly by accident. While the younger man bleeds out, the CEO is dazed and runs away while predators' growls can be heard nearby.
Near the garages' entrance, Dodgson is found by Bigelow and Kayla. The CIA agent asks about Ramsay and he answers that he didn't make it due to an attack on the way. The three take the last available vehicle and exits the Citadel, driving into the valley. Their objective is the same mountain path towards which Maisie and Drummond are heading.
Duel
On the way to the courtyard, one of the mysterious soldiers has a sword fight with a grey guard (Cesare oand Papadopoulos). During it, his opponent tear a part of his sleeve, revealing a tattoo which depicts a snake hieroglyph (actually a symbol of the god Apep). The soldier manage to climb aboard their helicopter, which take off and leave the valley with one of the attack helicopters. Confused, the grey guard wonder who those attackers were.
The dam busters
Meanwhile, the other has moved to the other end of the valley, where it's in the middle of a fight with one of the Special Forces' helicopters, just by the dam. During their battle, the dilapidated dam is destroyed and its unleashed frozen waters follow the valley's main river, flooding everything in their path, including the battlefield on the road and the area just in front of the Citadel. A number of animals, Carabinieri and Biosyn employees aboard a fleeing vehicle are carried away and many of them drown while Dodgson's vehicle is almost caught by the waters.
The flood reaches the south-eastern limits of Biosyn's lands, where it's momentarily stopped by the wall found there and which separates the Sanctuary from the nearest village. But under so much pressure, the wall breaks down and the flood continues, destroying parts of a riverside village after that, catching some of the inhabitants.
With its main power source gone, the electricity goes off within Biosyn's lands and the surrounding areas, deactivating the invisible fences and stopping the metro full of passengers in the middle of the tunnels.
Road accident
While in the part of the valley spared by the flood, Dodgson's vehicle nearly collide with a loose black billy goat (the same which ran away in the prologue) and in its attempt to bypass it, it tumble down a slope (with Bigelow being ejected in the bushes in the process) and ends up on its roof (like the vehicle carrying the original trio and Maisie in Trevorrow's version).
Aftermath
The attackers gone and most of Biosyn troops neutralized or routing, Vuillier, Dougal, Nyamu, Viscontini, and the surviving grey guards, the officers of the Carabinieri and the Special Forces, along with Pellegrino and Nathan Quinn starts organizing the evacuation of the remaining Biosyn employees and taking the wounded (as the grey guards' medic, Papadopoulos will tend to them) to a provisional secure location within the Citadel (the auditorium could be such a place). In the control room, all the technicians but a few were killed or badly injured by the helicopter's attack while the grey guard's team dispatched there is in a hardly better state as Isabella Perez was also injured. Al-Damiri orders their comrade to take her out of the tower, and give similar orders to the uninjured technicians, asking only one to stay just in case. The Egyptian grey guard and the remaining technician then assess the damage.
As power need to be put back on for various purposes (allowing the three grey guards continue their search in the archives; deactivating the valley "aerial defense" to let helicopters come in the Citadel and evacuate people; reactivating the metro; reactivating the invisible fences to prevent the animals from leaving the valley...), people are sent activating the emergency generators.
They want to send men after Dodgson's but while the valley's known exits are watched, they fear he knows a secret one.
Dodgson's demise
When Bigelow awakes amidst the bushes, she notices that the vehicle is surrounded by a group of Nasutoceratops (or some other buffalo-sized herbivores). Inside the crashed vehicle, Dodgson and Kayla regain consciousness and know they have to wait for the herbivores to leave before exiting the vehicle. Suddenly, the herbivores get agitated and leave. They caught the scent of a predator and the latter shows itself: It's the InGen-bred Acrocanthosaurus.
Ensue a scene where Dodgson, just like his novel version with Sarah Harding, tries to save his own skin by pushing Kayla from the vehicle so the Acro can eat her instead of him, deeming her expendable, but the opposite happens. When the CEO is shaken between the jaws, his precious hard-drive falls on the ground and Bigelow sees this and tries to reach it before it's crushed by the animal. Kayla tries to hold the CIA agent back, saying she'll get herself killed and that the hard-drive isn't worth it. Bigelow rushes towards her objective anyway. When it takes a still screaming Dodgson in the woods, the acro steps on the hard-drive, destroying it.
The black billy goat responsible for the road accident watches Dodgson being devoured by the dinosaur.
Meanwhile, a depressed Bigelow is looking at the destroyed hard-drive and Kayla is forced to shake her so they can move away and head for the mountains in order to leave the valley.
Drummond's confession
Walking above the surface and not in the tunnels in order to not reiterate the traumatizing experience with the pectinodons even if it's equally dangerous due to the other valley's predators, Drummond and Maisie are heading eastward, following the peripheral rim of mountains.
During their trek, Drummond tells Maisie about the Hunting activity in the Sanctuary and how its profits financed his research at Biosyn, explaining part of his self-loathing. He admits he's glad that Claire put an end to it, even if he wished less blood was spilled.
To add some light amidst those dark hours, the teenager and the palaeontologist have a peaceful encounter with some dinosaurs (probably herbivores).
While watching them, Drummond tells Maisie about his late wife's wish of having children, implying to the teenager that she has a roof under which to sleep if she doesn't want to return to Orick and leave the Lockwood name behind her in order to finally have a normal life.
At the opposite end of the valley, they see fire and smoke rising from the Citadel and wonder what happened there.
Zobie la Mouche/Whac-a-Mole
Another danger is spotted near the Citadel. Coming from the now-flooded area at the base of the building, comes Brontes, one of the Argentinosaurus.
After the battle and the flood, he just seeks a place to have some rest and thinks the Citadel's courtyard would be a decent choice. The characters in the atrium hide as he crosses the now destroyed hall. It's seen during that scene that the sauropod has many scars on his skull, implying some human abuse (probably for medical experiments). The sauropod's suite of small carnivores take off from it and land in the atrium, investigating the hall as they caught the scent of dead or wounded humans.
On his way, Brontes sees something moving on the ground. It's Murdoch, who's trying to crawl away despite the injuries she got after being trampled by a crowd. Brontes looks at her with curiosity and then crushes her under his foot. Murdoch now squashed, Brontes loses interest in her and enters the courtyard while some members of his suite eat the remains of Biosyn's vice-president. The Argentinosaurus stands in the middle of the courtyard, just in front of the tower's entrance, and starts to sleep while standing (a bit like elephants). A part of his suite is on the lookout, hearing noise all around within the Citadel.
Distracting Brontes
Our protagonists are bothered as Brontes and his suite are preventing them from going after Dodgson by the shortest way and reaching the archives' entrance. They can either make a long detour through a series of hallways or confront the dinosaur. As time is running against them, they take the second option and while some of the grey guards (Cesare, Massoud, Kapakas) are attracting Brontes and his suite towards a ruined part of the Citadel (and from the control room, Al Damiri help them by shooting on the beast), Vuillier and Nyamu run to the tower and reach it in time. At the archives' entrance, they join Chapuy and his two comrades.
Burning the Hydra's heads
In the dark hallways, Claire stumbles upon Betty Chapman (or whatever her real name is), who's pushing a cart with hydrogen cyanide canisters. At that moment, the audience also notices for the first time that Chapman has the same snake hieroglyph tattoo on her arm as the soldier who had a sword fight with the grey guard.
Claire first intends to stop the guard and bring her to the invading force so she can be put with the other Biosyn employees, but Chapman tells her that they should be allies as she's also an enemy of Biosyn. Claire demands precisions and while pushing the cart, the guard reveal that she infiltrated the company and was the one who sabotaged the Sanctuary in the last few months, by temporarily deactivating the invisible fence and allowing one of the Quetzalcoatlus to escape in order to accelerate the destroying of Biosyn's reputation, and sending intel to the raiders, whose objective were to destroy the locusts before their shipping abroad. When Claire asks who she and the raider are, Chapman only gives an enigmatic answer (something like "Chaos in the service of a greater good"). When she tells Claire that Wu made those locusts, the former director of Jurassic World thinks about finding the geneticist and follow through with her threats from three years earlier.
On the way, Claire has to scare off some escaped predator which wanted to attack them. Chapman tells her she's heading to the panic room, where the board of directors so foolishly trapped itself. The felon guard explain Claire they can't take the risk of having the board members leaving the panic room and escaping the valley and that she could help her giving a deadly blow from which Biosyn will never recover while they still can. Claire agrees to help her and looking at the canisters, she remembers what Doctor Karim Depéret, one of InGen's geneticists, told her during the Lockwood Estate incident, that Hydrogen Cyanide is a poison.
The emergency generators
As having a full suspenseful scene dedicated to restoring power like in Trevorrow's version would be too much of a retread of JP's bunker scene, the scene where power is restored is either much shorter or happening off-screen.
However, the emergency generators alone are not enough to provide power for all the needed tasks (the invisible fences and the aerial defense system are quite energy-intensive) and another black-out occurs. Power is once again put back on but our protagonists are forced to make choices. In order to keep the invisible fences on and the archives' power running, they are forced to keep the "aerial defense" system on and stop the evacuation's helicopters from going and coming between the Citadel and the camp outside the valley in order to not trigger pterosaurs' attack.
Dracul
Reaching the part of the Citadel where the panic room is located, Claire and Chapman bring the cart to a maintenance tunnel, prepare the canisters and neutralize the guards in front of the panic room, using darkness to their advantage. They block the door, preventing the board members from escaping. They return to the maintenance tunnel and Chapman lets Claire introduce hydrogen cyanide in the panic room's aeration, poisoning the board members. Finally, the Chapman gives Claire a box of matches. She takes it, lights a match, throws it in the right vent and while the gas catches fire, the two women run away. The panic room is destroyed in a violent explosion which finishes the board members off. It's heard and felt within most of the Citadel.
A wounded Biosyn guard sees Claire fleeing the panic room's area and notices the blood on her clothes. When he discovers what's left of the panic room and the board members (charred corpses at best), he utters with dread the following word: Dracul (Dragon in Romanian. The guard, a minor character, is established to be a Romanian immigrant in an earlier scene depicting the daily life of the facility's employees).
Claire tries to find Chapman after that but the other woman disappeared like a ghost and is not seen for the rest of the Dolomites Incident.
In the Archives
Vuillier, Nyamu and the three grey guards with them are still searching the archives for every incriminating document.
Reuniting
After discovering that Victoria and other animals escaped the citadel through a door and are now in the valley, Owen heads for the control room, aware that it must have some sort of tracking system. On the way, he reunites with Claire and soon, they are found by Dougal. As the Argentinosaurus is still posing a threat in the central courtyard, they pass under it in order to access the tower. They climb to the control room, meet Al-Damiri and the last technician there, get access to the tracking system and Victoria's current coordinates. They find a tracking tablet and Claire volunteers to stay in the control room and be their eyes.
While Owen and Dougal grab some capture equipment in a room near the kennels, Claire searches through the CCTV footage and finds Wu in Maisie's cell, within Dr Lesser's lab. She heads for the laboratories, telling the others she found the geneticist.
Following Victoria's signal thanks to their tracking tablet, Owen and Dougal leave the Citadel and head for the nearby forest, crossing the flooded area between the two.
Wu-ing for redemption
Claire reaches Dr Lesser's lab and opens its cell. Wu steps out but his old enemy brutally grabs him and interrogates him about the locusts. As he once again fucked up, she's about to strike him when pity hold her hand back. Wu tells her that they can still cancel Dodgson's apocalypse, by passing as the CEO himself and giving Biosyn's abroad agents the order to destroy the locusts, and just begs her to offer his help. After a moment of hesitation, Claire help the geneticist stand and give him his cane, the one Lockwood offered to him at the end of TRQ. Together, they then head immediately to the central tower and once in Dodgson's office, Wu turns the CEO's computer on but discovers it's empty. Claire's aggressiveness starts to return when Wu remembers that Dodgson kept some of his most precious information on paper and not necessarily on his computer as he feared being hacked. They start searching the office and the adjacent bedroom. Wu notices a framed picture of Dodgson as a child with his mother at some science fair (in an earlier scene, before he sent the containers, Dodgson could be seen closing the frame while Wu just stepped in his office). Wu opens the back of the frame and discover that Dodgson hid small pieces of papers between the picture and the frame itself. When he sees one paper with Hexapod Allies written on the top; a series of names, phone numbers and email addresses below; and a series of secret codes for the different orders on the back; he knows they put their hands on the jackpot. Wu and Claire hack Dodgson's email account (the password is Liddell, the maiden name of Dodgson's mother) and write the message to the agents involved in the Hexapod Allies operation, including the secret code for the Destroy order, but when they want to send it, the computer notify them that they can't due to internet connection issues. Wu realizes it's because the antenna on top of the control room might have moved following the helicopter's attack. Someone has to climb on the roof to properly realign it and since Wu can't because of his lame leg, the task goes to Claire.
Tracking Victoria
In the woods, Owen and Dougal hear Victoria's calls for help. The young Achillobator still thinks her mother might show up.
They find her and try to capture her but fails. They wander deeper in the woods.
Realigning the antenna
Claire climbs on the control room's roof and communicates with Wu through the radio, she ends up finding the right antenna.
However, just as she begin fixing it, the Argentinosaurus' suite start harassing her as the sauropod is just below. From the auditorium's entrance, Viscontini notices that. Learning through Wu what Claire is doing, Viscontini orders the grey guards to attack the Argentinosaurus so his suite will turn away from Claire to instead defend him. Wu also urges the AISI head to send men after Theo, Maisie and Drummond, as they're carrying very important data about the locusts, enough to destroy Biosyn.
Defying a Titan
Round two between the grey guards and Brontes start, and most of Claire's harassers go help him. This time, the sauropod actively chases his human attackers across parts of the Citadel, destroying walls and roofs with his sheer weight, letting out deafening bellows, passing his neck and head into breaches to try get access to the characters while his suite can reach them where he can't. Massoud ends up grabbed by the herbivore mouth and then thrown against the tower or any other surface, killing him instantly. An additional idea could be the titanosaur provoking small "earthquakes" when he strikes the ground with his forefeet, destabilizing Claire on top of the tower (she even almost falls).
Depending on the pace, there could be at the same time a suspenseful scene in the archives involving some creatures from the labs or the kennels. If the archives are low enough, maybe they'll get inundated because of the flood and the threat could be a semi-aquatic creature contained in the Citadel or brought by the flood (like the temnospondyl; while Nothosaurus, which had a small appearance in my JW rewrite, could be an alternative choice, with individuals housed in the kennels).
Prometheus' fate
After giving a few kicks while repelling her last harassers, Claire manages to properly realign the antenna and Wu successfully transmit the Destroy order to the Hexapod Allies agents. We cut to them as they destroy the locusts in their containers. When he receives their confirmation, the geneticist is relieved. But just as Claire is about to return to Dodgson's office, she sees a *Variraptor (*if it's chosen as Brontes' suite. If not, it will be some relatively large feathered coelurosaurian from the labs in order to make the parallels with Prometheus work) getting to its entrance first. Wu just has the time to barricade himself in the bedroom adjacent to the office but he knows the door won't hold long. Something (Brontes passing his head through a window and trying to attack her?) prevents her from reaching the office. She tells Wu to hold while she tries to save him but he asks her to instead save herself, wishing her a long and happy life. He bids her farewell and wait for his death while Claire escapes the tower. The raptor ends up breaking through the door and it pounce on Wu. While the predator starts devouring him, his cane falls on the ground and its amber pommel shatters.
Owen's decision
Just as the Owen and Dougal are about to start a new attempt in capturing Victoria, a pack of Achillobators (the same one which allied with Claire in the previous night) shows up and our duo hide while the raptors spot Victoria. At first, Owen fears they'll hurt or even kill her. He thinks about intervening, even if he might risk his own life, but after sniffing the young and scared Achillobator, the pack leader gently guides her towards her pack. Owen and Dougal watch the raptors disappear in the darkness. Dougal ask Owen if he'll do something but the Raptor Whisperer says nothing, willing to let Victoria live with a pack and without unnecessary human interference in her life. They head back to the Citadel.
The tower and the tyrannosaur
Kayla and Bigelow arrive by one of the observation towers, the one closest from the mountain path they're heading to. Nearby, the Special Forces' helicopter shot down by that of the raiders and the surrounding vegetation still burns. Just as they are about to climb to its observation bay in order to raid the tower for anything useful before starting the mountains' ascent, they are surrounded by a pack of small carnivores (just like Claire with the dilophosaurs in Trevorrow's version). Before they attack, a horn blast is heard. It's Drummond and after the palaeontologist insists with his portable horn (similar to the one Nigel Marven use against the velociraptors in The Giant Claw), the small carnivores scatter. He asks the two women if they're friends or foes, if they count among Dodgson's friends. Kayla answers that since Dodgson tried to sacrifice her to an Acrocanthosaurus, the answer is no for her, before adding that it ate Dodgson instead. Drummond is glad to hear that and he tells Maisie she can come. The teenager, hidden until there amidst the vegetation, joins them. Having heard Dodgson complaining about Maisie's escape, Bigelow is aware she must be very important but still wary, Drummond whisper to Maisie to not say a single word about the flash drive she's carrying. The two duos talk about their objectives and discover that they're the same. For better chances of survival, they decide to head together for the mountain's path.
But a tyrannosaur, the same one which Claire released earlier, makes its appearance while they're walking away from the tower. It saw them and they know that they better seek refuge in the tower than attempt to run from the predator. At first, they try to stay still, in order to not trigger its attack, but when he notices that the predator wouldn't mind eat one or two of them, Drummond tells Maisie and the two women to run. While they rush to the tower, he distracts the rex by agitating a burning branch. Afraid of the fire, the rex seek to avoid the branch and see the three other humans climbing the tower's ladder. The predator bypass Drummond and in its dash towards the tower, it sends the palaeontologist flying away with its tail. As such thing would have easily killed someone, Maisie fears the worst for him and when his motionless body falls into a ravine, the audience think it's over for him. Maisie panics while the rex has its jaws locked around the ladder's protective cage. What follows is pretty much similar to the Giganotosaurus' attack on the tower scene from Trevorrow's version, except that the final outcome will be quite different. As the observation towers' power has been turned off from the control room in order to save power for more urgent systems, our three protagonists can't have the observation bay rise to the top of the tower, where they would be safe from the rex. To make matters worse, another threat arrive.
I haven't decided which yet but the idea I'm having now is a group of pterosaurs, probably pteranodons, which targets our trio and chase the rex away from the tower by pecking at his head. Another manages to grab Maisie and take her out of the tower. However, the pterosaur let her go before it can be above the canopy due to some incident (another harassing it probably) and Maisie falls into dense bushes at a certain distance from the tower, out of the two women's sight. In the meantime, a mist has started descending from the mountains. Bigelow and Kayla exit the tower and begin searching for Maisie in the area, fearing she got herself hurt in the fall. To cover a maximum of ground before the mist reaches them, they decide to split up.
The end of a line
We see Maisie managing to stand up and while she got bruises**,** she seems relatively fine and still in walking condition. Now lost and alone in the middle of the woods, she's very scared though and starts screaming to help. In the silent forest, Kayla hears her voice and follows it. Just as the mist is about to reach Maisie, the smuggler sees the teenager in the distance and calls for her. But when she hears heavy footsteps and a rumble coming from just behind Maisie, in the mist, her heart stops and she's aghast when she sees the tyrannosaur's silhouette closing to the girl's. Before Maisie can flee, the predator open its maws, grabs her and swallow her whole before disappearing in the forest's shadows (the scene is meant to be a mirror of one from my JW rewrite, where the death of a little girl during the pterosaurs' attack on the main hub is concealed by smoke while Claire watch helplessly). Thus ends Lockwood's line, indirectly destroyed by Claire Dearing.
Bigelow arrives in her turn and sees the smuggler kneeled on the ground, speechless, too shocked by the scene she just saw. Understanding what happened, the CIA agent has an "Oh. Shit..." face and tells Kayla they have to leave the valley while they still can, as she doesn't know what the Italians will do with it once it's taken, even fearing that it might be firebombed in order to destroy the perpetrators of the various incidents of the past months.
While the two women head for the mountain's path and the mist passes away, Drummond is seen climbing out of the ravine and starts to call for Maisie, in vain. Seeing the destroyed observation bay empty, he looks around for clues about Maisie's or the women's whereabouts. He ends up stumbling on the rex's tracks and follows them up to the spot where the teenager last stood. There he finds Wu's flash drive and seeing some blood stains around, he realizes she is no more. This deeply saddens him and this loss and failure just add another load on his self-loathing, as he would have gladly died between the jaws of the king of the dinosaurs if it could have saved Maisie's life. Instead of trying to follow Kayla and Bigelow, he goes in the opposite direction, towards the valley itself.
Leaving the Sanctuary
While looking to reach the auditorium, Claire is forced to hide in one of the labs from dilophosaurs roaming in the area.
In the archives, Vuillier and Nyamu finally put their hands on the documents they were looking for and take them. They and the grey guards' archives team then leave the room and head to the auditorium, in order to reunite with Viscontini and co. On the way, they have to pass between the legs of Brontes while he's distracted by the grey guards. When they reach the auditorium, Viscontini tells them that helicopters are waiting for them. One of the aircrafts is on its way to pick up the Owen and Dougal.
Escorted by the Carabinieri and the Special Forces, the surviving Biosyn employees are evacuated from the Citadel and when the grey guards retreat from their confrontation against Brontes, Vuillier asks them if they've seen Claire coming back but they answer that no. He contacts her and she tells him that she's being delayed.
We see her evading the dilophosaurs which were about to discover her and leaving the labs. Now, start for her an Uncharted-esque race through the Citadel where she has to cross various obstacles and avoid/outrun the loose creatures within it (including the dilophosaurs mentioned above). Still pissed, Brontes targets her and chases her up to her extraction point. Before the Argentinosaurus can close his mouth on her, she jumps into one of the helicopters where Owen and Dougal are waiting for her. The two men help her get inside and their helicopter fly away from the Citadel while the sauropod lets out a mighty bellow.
The protagonists leave the valley and the helicopters which drop them off at Biosyn employees' village, which has been taken over by the Italians and the Austrians in the meantime.
A bitter dawn
While the first sun rays reach the valley, Drummond stumble upon the monstrous Acrocanthosaurus Quasimodo in the area devastated by the flood, in sight of the now destroyed south-eastern wall. Surprised by the waters near the road battlefield, the predator was carried on a certain distance before ending up blocked by rocks and then impaled by a tree. When the palaeontologist finds him, he's dead. Disgusted by the animal, Drummond first tries to ignore him and continue towards the wall, intending to reach the village beyond it, but he turns back and carefully approach him. Tired from his night-long trek, Drummond sit on a rock just next to Quasimodo's head and still quite shaken by Maisie's death and the disaster, Drummond start to ramble about various topics (about the evolution of palaeontology since the San Diego incident, his wife, working at Biosyn, Theo's and Maisie's death...) before breaking down in tears and he can't hold himself from calling Quasimodo a Manmade abomination which deserved to be destroyed by Nature. While looking towards the destroyed wall, the palaeontologist start to regret those harsh words and pulls out a flask of whisky from his bag. After drinking a sip, he puts it back in the bag and just sit silently by the dead animal for a few minutes, up until some Quetzalcoatlus land nearby. The gigantic pterosaurs walk up to the dead Acrocanthosaurus and ignoring Drummond as a way bigger meal is just in front of them, they start feasting. While they do so, Drummond follows the flood's desolation towards the Citadel and he is soon spotted by the men tasked with finding him.
Of rivalries and world-saving
In the morning, Claire steps out of the accommodation assigned to her and Owen within Biosyn's Village. She sees Drummond giving Wu's flash drive to Vuillier before taking his leave. After joining her boss, Claire ponders about her relationship with Wu, on how both destroyed Jurassic World five years ago and how they pretty much saved the world that night. She and Vuillier have a respectful moment of silence for their deceased enemy.
In the abandoned citadel, it's revealed that one of the locusts survived. It's seen crawling on the ground, towards one of the vents. But just before it could reach it, a Mononykus (freed from one of the cages during the raid) swoops on it and devours it.
League of Dragons
As she is crossing the village, Claire passes by one of the remaining Biosyn guards. It's actually the Romanian one, the one who saw her by the panic room. Frightened as hell, he moves away from her while yelling "Dracul! Dracul!", still traumatized by the past night's events. Claire briefly wonders why he is yelling and running away before she gets surrounded by other Biosyn guards and Lucrezia Pellegrino. The Citadel's head of security explains that he called her a dragon because of what he saw and some of the guards start throwing insults at Claire, calling her a monster and a butcher, and she realize that they and their superior want to avenge those she killed. Pellegrino adds that by sending dinosaurs on people who oppose her, Claire is no better than Dodgson on that matter.
Nearby, Owen sees his fiancée surrounded and when one of the Biosyn guards throws a stone at Claire, he gets furious, tackles him on the ground and starts to beat him up. As another guard pulls out a knife (which he hid when they had to give their weapons to the authorities) and is about to stab Owen, the surviving grey guards suddenly intervene, getting the couple out of the Biosyn ambush and then confronting the attackers, standing by Claire's and Owen's side. The grey guards retort to their opponents that their comrades could have denounced the Sanctuary's illegal activities, surrendered, deserted or arrested Dodgson while they could but did nothing, before adding that without Claire, they would have all eaten nothing but locusts in a near future. The Biosyn guards feel insulted however and as an ugly fight is about to break out between both groups, the Carabinieri are forced to intervene and assign them to opposite parts of the village.
The press, who just entered the Biosyn's lands, has witnessed the confrontation and so did Vuillier and Nyamu. The latter tells the Frenchman that since Claire pretty much saved the world, Odegaard could give her a well-deserved break, literally and figuratively.
Debate
In the village's equivalent of a community centre, a meeting about the incident's consequences and what to do with the Sanctuary and its animals is held. Among the attendees, are:
- The WDMC and the people directly affiliated to it: Claire, Owen, Dougal, Vuillier, and Nyamu.
- Representatives of the Italian government: Viscontini, Giovanni Pazzi, and a few local politicians.
- The surviving Biosyn executives and top researchers: Drummond, Pellegrino, Quinn.
During the meeting, we learn that:
- Dodgson was found, or at least five or six pieces of him.
- Some of the Sanctuary's denizens managed to flee the valley and are now somewhere in the Italian countryside. Among the escapees are Victoria and her new pack of Achillobators.
- Exterminators led by the surviving grey guards are about to be sent in the amber mines to slaughter the pectinodons down to the last individual and the species will be soon classified as a pest in Italy, Austria and probably other countries.
Several solutions for the valley, its denizens and the Citadel are discussed:
- Cull the animals, cleanse the valley of Biosyn's traces, and give it back to the inhabitants expropriated by the corporation when it decided to have the entire valley and some of the surrounding lands for itself and no one else.
- Abandoning the valley, let the animals fend for themselves and hope that "life will find a way", even if it poses huge risks for the local populations and ecosystems.
- Dispatch the surviving animals to zoos and other entities which can legally house dangerous captive animals. Proceeding like this will allow de-extinct creatures to no longer be in the ownership of a single entity like Biosyn or InGen.
- Round up the loose animals, cleanse the battle's and the flood's damages, and turn the place into a real Sanctuary for de-extinct animals. Not a "Kruger with dinosaurs" like the Five Deaths but more like a non-profit place with enclosures (akin to many sanctuaries for wild animals across the globe). It will be a public-private joint-venture, with the sanctuary co-managed by the UN's WDMC and the Italian government while private partners will help finance it (Nathan Quinn propose to be one of those but Vuillier, Dougal and a few others distrust him and prefer to not have some of Dodgson's former collaborators on the project). And in order to ensure good relations with the local communities, jobs will be offered to the area's inhabitants and some lands given back to them. Shall this solution be adopted, Vuillier proposes to have Claire Dearing as its manager, Owen Grady its head warden, Rod Drummond its chief researcher, and Laurenzo Cesare as head of security, if they accept. Pellegrino storms off at this moment, disgusted that they're about to leave her without a job and rewarding Claire, an unrepentant psychopath in her eyes. In a moment of consultation amidst the meeting, Claire tells Vuillier she'll probably refuse becoming the sanctuary's manager if this solution is adopted, telling him that she has the feeling that her future lies elsewhere and that she'll continue work as a field agent if he don't mind. Vuillier, who clearly saw how Claire evolved since she started playing spies back in 2019 and decided to close his eyes on her exactions, suggest her to settle for a quieter less-violent life and declares that managing the Sanctuary could be the ultimate redemption for her. Still shaken by the amount of violence she had to commit in order to stop Biosyn and desiring to spend more time with her son, she ends up being persuaded and accept the idea.
The different solutions are being debated for weeks if not months within the Italian government and the UN.
End of Act IV.
See you tomorrow for the final Act and the Epilogue.

2023.06.08 12:14 city_of_the_dead Figuring Out My Type
So, this is my first time being in this subreddit. 16personalities say I'm ISTP, I made sure to retake the test several times to confirm it. now, I want your guys' opinion on what my MBTI is.
I will list a few of my personalities as well as other things about me:
- my taste in music varies, however, the music genres I listen to frequently is rap and heavy metal (I'm that type of person to have their volume up while listening to music). I listen to Airborne, Hollywood Undead, Twisted Sister, Green Day, My Chemical Romance, AC / DC, Nirvana, Queen, Mötley Crüe, Florida Georgia Line, and Eminem.
- I do listen to pop also, but I only listen to Ed Sheeran, Shawn Mendes, Taylor Swift, Olivia Rodrigo, Madison Beer, Sam Smith and Charlie Puth. as for the others, I probably only know like 2, 3 or 4 songs from them.
- i'm not really good at conveying emotions, as in, I'm bad at expressing them. hell, I never know what expression is on my face when I look at people. to people, my relaxed face is an angry face. or a friend of mine calls it "tiger eyes" (when we first met), I never really bothered to tell them though since I don't see the point of doing so.
- I'm pretty blunt, like very blunt, I never filter myself (I swear alot but I don't do it in front of my mom). I make comments about almost everything and would speak what's on my mind (if I was comfortable with sharing it that is), I never sugarcoat things. but that doesn't mean I always tell the truth, I lie alot. even too my own relatives.
- I am pretty honest on how I feel about a certain person, if I hate them. I will show that I do, I won't fake liking them. I lie alot, I've done that multiple times selfishly in my life because I didn't want to get scolded at. but, I hate playing fake with people. I really do, even if my mom tells me too. I can't bring myself to do so.
- when it comes to education, I really suck at it (English and Science is my highest subjects, Math, AP and Filipino are my lowest subjects). I'm more of a sporty type, which really sucks tbh ngl. I haven't gotten an IQ test before but I have all sorts of random knowledge I acquired over the years that's not really Filipino school related that I learned on YouTube and Google, I've always been good at memorizing numbers, but when it comes to math. I suddenly started forgetting numbers. hell, it took me awhile to memorize the multiplication table and I still use my fingers for the bigger numbers to this day.
- I just lay around and play my phone on the living room couch, while my aunt does all the house chores. as the older sister, I should be the one to do them, but I couldn't bring myself to do it for whatever reason, but. I do them, not frequently but when my aunt and mom is out leaving me and my brother or whenever I feel like it doing them.
- my mood changes pretty quickly, I go from angry (I'm short-tempered) to calm in a few minutes. If I'm angry for a long time, I listen to music to calm down. I am usually calm though, even under pressure (it depends on the situation though. when it comes to being rushed on something or me studying, expect me start getting pissed).
- according to my mom, I was always friendly and surrounded by friends in school. I can make friends fairly quickly, and I surprisingly remember each one of their names. I would even buy snacks in the cafeteria for myself and my friends according to my mom, I love giving nicknames to most people (even tho I suck at it) especially my friends. although, after the pandemic. staying inside and all with no contact with my school friends, I became a little nervous when it comes to talking to other people. (I've always been terrible at conversation starters honestly 💀)
- I always want to try new things or be different things. my mom told me that I used to want to be a security guard when I was younger, I recall telling my dad when I was 12 that I wanted to be a police or a chef, but as of now. at 16, I either want to be a soldier or a singer. as for the try new things, whenever I get interested in things I find, well interesting and I try to learn more about them. only to be bored of it eventually and lose the interest all together, I've always hated that about myself honestly.
- I'm really competitive when it comes to video games, if you challenge me in a game. I'll do whatever it takes to get a higher score then you, then impress you with how high my score is. I also love crosswords and word search, it's basically the only two puzzles games I actually enjoy.
- Creative Type, but I'm really horrible at drawing (I can only draw stick figures). mine is more of a creative thinking thing (i.e creating fictional character scenarios, not thinking out of the box).
- I love puns, especially dark humor. but I'm terrible at making one myself.

2023.06.08 12:14 Goodbichon POTD: My very first crossword!
Hi -- here is link to it on crosshare:
https://crosshare.org/crosswords/uG8pDoJzgCAdahHDZust/my-first-crossword I am very much a beginner (still on the Times quick ones), but from the start felt drawn to making clues up, so gave a whole puzzle a go.* My arsenal of tricks is quite limited so maybe it is very easy. And possible I've made a faux pas here or there. Would really really love your feedback and advice on how I could improve certain clues, and also overall feel of the puzzle. Maybe feels a bit samey? Or perhaps I've just been staring at it too long! I think maybe in future would like to try more &lit. clues to spice things up a bit -- but I do find those very hard to solve, let alone set...
*(Note: I actually borrowed a completed grid from a non-cryptic which i found on Google images, and just made up cryptic clues for it — so... maybe not counting as a
fully self-set crossword... but excited to make my own now I know about crosshare).

2023.06.08 12:00 Traditional-Pea-2379 [TOMT][GAME] can someone please help me find this game
I’m not really too good at explaining things, so sorry in advance. I don’t remember much about it, so I’ll just say what I can. I think it might’ve been a JRPG. And I know it was an MMO. Game had a gotcha system for equipment and allies. You couldn’t take your character off the team. And Battles were turned based. And out of battle you could freely wander around its world. It had an anime like colorful world. In which could freely customize your character and you even choose where to put your weapon, you can put it on your side of your back or even your head I also remember the starting area with this small town in which had a tavern like place one of the quests involved going into a mine
And that’s about all I remember

2023.06.08 11:58 _unknown_username Does incoherant count?
My SO's 30 year old lazy motherfucking dole bludger son got dumped on us by his mother at christmas time because he was basically being an A grade cunt. He was told at the time that if he was going to stay with us he had to pay rent and do chores. (its MY house btw, nothing to do with my SO). This lasted a few weeks and I only ever saw two weeks rent the entire time. Both my SO and Asshole are on pensions, one disability and one unemployment while I have to work as my (mental health) disability doesn't make me disabled enough to get a pension. I digress. Asshole is lazy and my SO was a Disney Dad, on top of that, Asshole is an only child. Months have gone by and I've tolerated the laziness as I have problems expressing myself assertively and appropriately without going postal. Asshole brings home 'Slapper' girlfriend, without the courtesy of mentioning anything before she arrived, then proceeds to lie to me and tell me that he found her wandering th'm a e street. THEN he attempts to hide her in his room for days. I spot them at the supermarket and say nothing to them, but to my SO who agrees that the girl is a trouble making slapper. On top of that my SO is away due to a death in the family. I mysteriously find Slapper girl in the kitchen the other night and I say nothing other than goodnight despite my inner voice wanting to go off the deep end. Tonight was the last straw, I know it sounds petty but a few weeks ago I said I wasn't going to be paying for groceries anymore, if you want it, you go buy it.
Yesterday on my way home from my anxiety ridden job I call past the supermarket and get myself pack of dumplings to have for dinner tonight. The FUCKING little asshole at my dumplings!. It's not the dumplings, its the deceit (hiding slapper girl), disrespect and entitled attitude I wont tolerate. My SO is away for another week and agrees that we need to lay down the law and kick them out. "Oh sorry I feel bad', " you fucking well should I say as I head to bed.
I'm a prisoner in my own home in that if I venture out of my room and bump into them I'm going to go nuclear. I've agreed with my SO that I wont say anything until he gets back (coping mechanism on my part) but I so fucking angry. I feel used and disrespected, but paralised by my own anxiety around saying anything and speaking up for myself. I'm not going to be the bad guy.
I just needed to rant, I know this probably didn't make any sense but hey, I feel better for the vent.

2023.06.08 11:53 MycoThoughts Underwater Trading: Abyssal Civilization Suggestion
Merpeople Castles
TLDR: A suggestion of a deep underwater mob with unique trading mechanics and requirements for both effective interaction and deep-sea exploration.
Under the sea With a greatly increased y level, a
Twilight Depths Zone (35 - -10) and
Midnight Abyss Zone (-10 - -55) could be added to the oceans, each with their own mobs, features and biomes. There have been other suggestions for deep ocean biomes recently, but these all tend to lack a crucial feature: an actual reason to go there.
The main feature I propose are the
Merpeople.
Based around hydrothermal vents and as large and intricate as ancient cities: the
Prismarine Mercastles spiral around the base while spires reach amongst the jets of warm, rich water for heat and farming. An elder guardian patrolling below as the tentacle-legged Merpeople work and protect their own elders from within their thrown rooms. Their sea lantern lit workshops based around a conduit at the heart of every castle.
Like Illigers they send out patrols and are hostile to the player but, like Piglins, only if they get too close and are even quite friendly and trade for shiny or glowing objects when you've taken on some glow of your own. The Merpeople at the castles could even have a few professions,
trading if you speak their language. A basic barter system if not.
These rather alien beings communicate through flashes of light going down their body and limbs, tentacles spread out to converse. Red flashes when hostile would be a useful feature for all mobs down there, blue when neutral and green when friendly, even if it's just to give the player a chance if they can't see. I rather like the idea of them looking more like cuttlefish rather than villagers.
You yourself can
glow for a while using a potion made from glow squid ink sacks, the splash version acting as a distraction for the Merpeople and anything else in the depths. Speaking their
language meanwhile requires the additional effect gained by eating a certain abyssal plant. Luckily, this plant is pretty common, unluckily its poisonous; unless served as Abyssal Sushi, made with the addition of radishes, salmon, crab or some such resource from far above.
A similar arrangement to help with night vision and water breathing would also be beneficial.
Good luck getting to the Midnight Zone in the first place though. First you have to construct a diving helm (copper and glass) and diving suit (leather and blaze powder), which will only get you as far as the twilight zone, under the condition
Pressure I. Here is a place the undead are too crushed to exist under the constant damaging pressure and so dangerous they would be torn apart. The Midnight Zone requires something that can withstand
Pressure II. At this depth cobblestone is crushed into deepslate.
I can think of three options:
- Prismarine shards to upgrade the diving suit. Ocean monuments having being moved to the Twilight zone as the guardians irritate me while I'm minding my own business on the surface.
- A non-renewable deep-sea submarine blueprint from ancient underwater bases. It could be crafted with soul sand to propel the small craft, which should be small enough carried in the inventory. These bases should probably still also contain some clue about Merpeople trading, perhaps via pottery shard.
- A potion that directly transforms you into a Merperson, leaving you unable to ascend above the Twilight Zone without taking constant damage. This could be permanent until milk is consumed, possibly from a whale or dolphin if none is brought down with you.
While making their home in the Midnight Abyss, their patrols should appear in both zones. The Mercastles should feel massive and complex, which hopefully should be made easier with the darkness even constraining night vision. It would also be beneficial to give them some sort of
pet in addition to guardians. Maybe Spider Crabs would do, but I think something more fantastical and cute would be better.
It can't all be terror down where it's wetter.
Other biomes could include ship graveyards in both zones, Midnight Zone whale/leviathan graveyards and fields of crinoids and giant tube worms. Something that can replace blaze powder for some potions. Mobs like goblin, oar and angler fish, spider crabs, giant vampire squid, silverfish sized krill, ancient creatures like Olabinia or Anomulocaris. Half the stuff down there looks fantasy anyway, so there's plenty of opportunity to get creative.
The deep-sea provides a unique opportunity to really challenge the player regardless of experience and resources. Simply existing there should feel like you could be crushed at any moment or eaten by something far stranger and more dangerous than a zombie. It could even help open up the possibility of a whole aquatic dimension, although I wouldn't hold my breath even if it became vanilla.
Making friends with the Merpeople just provides a useful gameplay reason to visit and explore those dark depths. Some deep sea-ted motivation.
I encourage you to look at other peoples suggestions if you're curious. There's plenty more ideas out there, but I think these gameplay additions give a lot more flavour and interest than just loot and animals.

2023.06.08 11:48 nuchgirl17 journal entry venting but also need advice
I don’t know what to do. I feel lost. Lately I have been feeling so very lost in myself. I have come to this realization that I have no clue who I truly am. I struggle with my identity and what I am doing and where I'm supposed to be. I feel like I'm constantly failing at this big grand thing called “life.” I sat here tonight drinking my seltzers and started to enter what seemed to be the beginnings of one of my episodes. I was 4 seltzers in (which doesn’t do anything to me anyways, drunk or tipsy wise) but all I could think of despite me drinking those 4 drinks that might of gotten somebody else drunk was “I need to get the fuck out of here.” I got my dog and loaded him into my car and I drove. I drove to Wawa and got myself a bagel and impulsively bought myself a new nicotine device (like I still need to be doing that shit. It's just another one of my fixations and my only addiction) I ended up taking that drive to go get nicotine and turning it into an hour long drive listening to songs that felt the way I was feeling internally. I did this all so I didn’t have to be at home because if I was home I probably would have cut my ankles all over again. I don’t like self harming. It doesn't feel good. It's always been my last resort and I’ve only done it one other time in the past 2 years. I usually am pretty good about not self harming but lately being home and seeing the affects my last blow up around my family had on my mother I have seemed to want to resort more to putting that pain physically on myself. I feel like a failure, I feel broken. I feel like my brain is going 1000 miles a minute and I can’t make it stop. I recently wrote this… “I was diagnosed when I was younger with ADHD (which I very much do have) and also generalized anxiety disorder, and depression. I'm 21 now and I feel like the anxiety and depression is no longer my diagnosis due to how I act and behave. I just want to feel peace. I just want to feel peaceful. I want my mind to stop going 1000 miles a minute. I feel so “good”, then I’m angry, then I'm in utter despair to the point of harming myself (cutting). I feel like no one likes me, no one loves me. I act out and lash out and hurt the best people around me. I do things I shouldn’t/ wouldn’t “normally” want to do but I just can’t stop myself. Most of the time I don’t even remember the awful things I do until I come to and realize I fucked up. Validation is my key to happiness but I never feel it. I went to a doctor recently who told me I very likely have BPD but he didn’t want to diagnose me with it due to the way other doctors may treat me with that diagnosis on my chart and due to it being such a “serious” issue. I need advice/ help on what to do.” I put this up on a BPD reddit blog. I feel like it is my cry for help and my cry for understanding. No one around me gets it. I don’t know how to make anyone get it. I'm living with these things in my brain and I haven’t even been actually diagnosed with BPD yet. I see life passing me by. I feel like I’ve been an active bystander for my whole entire life. I don’t know what to do anymore. Being committed feels and seems and looks so absolutely appealing to me because the world would just stop. My world would be quiet and I would be around people who feel like I do and I would be around people who want to help me. But here I am feeling this way at 21 years old, able to make my own decisions but I don’t know how to sit there and tell my mom I need extensive help that a regular therapist won’t provide me. I know what I need. I need extensive care and dialectical behavioral therapy. These are things that going to an inpatient facility can give me. I feel non-existent every single second of every single day. I'm not here. None of this is real. It can’t be. I struggle to feel anything but I also feel absolutely everything at the same exact time. I feel too much but nothing at all. How does that make any sense? I feel like everyone is out to get me. I feel like no one likes me. The only 2 friends I have I truly think and feel like they actually hate me. Just the other day I did what I always do and asked my friend if I did something wrong. I find myself doing this a lot. Asking those around me if they truly like me, do they hate me? Did I do something? Did they not invite me somewhere because they didn't want me there? It's an impulse I constantly have and have to take action for. I hate myself. I hate who I have slowly become over the last couple of years. It is currently 6:21 and yet again I haven't gone to bed yet. I can't sleep, I hate when I want to eat because I hate myself and my body and how I look. I hate when I'm awake because every second I'm awake is another second, minute, hour, and day that I'm sitting here thinking about everything that is wrong with myself and everything that I hate about myself that everybody else around me surely hates as well.

2023.06.08 11:45 TinyH0tPocket My dogs's have a weird new "habit"
Hi! My mom owns two pugs, they both are 6 years old and they are pretty senior already.
Lately they have started pooping and peeing in the house, at first only one did this but now both of them do it.
They go out for long walks twice every day and they barely pee nor poop when they are out, they just look around and that's it but then as soon as we get home they do everything in the house.
It's not a new environment, nothing has changed since we adopted them as puppies and they had the same walk time since the beginning, that's why I don't understand why they are doing this now.
At first i thought they couldn't hold it in but we've realized they do hold it in during walks till we get home so i don't have a clue of what is going on and we can't afford a vet at all right now.
Any clue?

2023.06.08 11:45 ProbablyNotAFurry Protip for those still feeling out the monster: Use explosive barrels to bait the beast
Today I was messing around in the game and I noticed the beast will indiscriminately smash furniture, not only while hes chasing you, but also while hes wandering around and hasn't gotten sight of you, so I got an idea.
I was in the arsenal itself, right where you get the dynamite bundle, there is a locked wooden door outside the barred entrance, an explosives barrel, and a burrow for the beast to enter just beyond it all. I wanted into that locked room, but I had no brick to batter the door down with and I REALLY didn't want to spend a round detonating the barrel, it was at that moment I must have made too much noise and the beast approached. It hadn't seen me, so I scurried into the arsenal itself and closed the door. Luckily it wandered in the other direction, but people who have made it that far will know that the arsenal has no walls, only bars. I was able to watch the beast's trek backwards through the storage area, smashing any furniture that it encountered that blocked it's path, so I hatched a plan.
I waited for the beast to lose aggro and burrow again, then I positioned the explosive barrel between the arsenal and the beasts burrow (In such a way that the beast wouldn't be able to path around it, I don't know if this works if the beast has an alternative path to take, like he can recognize the danger of the explosive barrel), and made sure that the wooden door would be within the blast radius. Then I started revving my flashlight and sprinting back and forth until it began crawling out of its hidey hole. I scurried back into the arsenal before it caught wind of me. It seems that no matter what the beast will always attempt to investigate the original location of the noise that aggro'd him unless something else catches his attention. When the path led him to the barrel, he immediately smashed it. Not only did it blow open the door I was looking at, it actually caused so much damage to the beast that he immediately called off his search and ran back to his burrow!
I also tested this out later, but if you let off 4-5 revolver shots into him, he doesn't just keep getting stunned repeatedly, he actually runs off like mentioned in one of the notes in the game. There seems to be a damage threshold that he can tolerate before immediately calling off a chase and explosive barrels must meet it immediately. I haven't tested it yet, but i'm supposing frag grenades do something similar.
Just a tip for anyone still messing around and looking for an edge. Remember to experiment! Good luck, soldats!
TL;DR: The monster smashes furniture it can't path around, use the splodey barrels to give him a nasty surprise, when it hurts him he runs off immediately instead of making you lose him.

2023.06.08 11:44 NoInevitable1683 I’m a 20 y/o severe cocaine addict, advice, questions, comments, etc?
I’m not sure why I’m writing this or even choosing to share this with millions of people on the internet, especially since I’m unable to be this honest with the closest people in my life that deserve to know about my addiction. I am a severe cocaine addict and have been since I was 17. I grew up in a middle class family, and always lived in the best part of town, and went to the best schools. My father has a mental illness in which one too many episodes caused my mother to make the decision to divorce him, and because of this he moved to a different state right before I started high school. While there’s many things in my life that have led me here, I want to make it clear that this isn’t me blaming those events or circumstances and using them as a scapegoat, but I can no longer deny that this addiction stems from losing my father at such a crucial part of my life, my manhood. On the other end, my fathers mental illness renders him incapable of working, so after the divorce my mother worked 3 jobs in order to make up for lost income and no child support on his end. This meant that I never spent a great deal of time with her throughout high school, and due to this I had very minimal supervision. I would stay out late on school nights with other friends who lacked a fundamental home life and family dynamic. Those friends became other friends and soon enough I was partying with 18 and 19 year olds as a 15/16 year old. By 17, I had done nearly every drug imaginable, but the one I always came back to was cocaine. Even though I came from and lived in a good situation financially, hanging out with this crowd that seemed to accept me so much more than my bougie classmates meant hanging out with a lot of drug dealers and their friends from the other side of town. Right before my 18th birthday, I came across the opportunity to start selling coke, as a friend at the time’s father had the idea for me to start selling to my friends after I met him at a house party, in which he would front me an amount each week and I would pay him back what I owed. I didn’t need the money, but I still did it because even 2-3 months into my use I was thrilled at the idea of being able to do great amounts of coke for virtually free; all I had to do was pay my difference. This one decision to start selling changed my life, and soon enough I was doing close to an 8 ball of cocaine every day. I would go take finals in high school off 3 days of no sleep. But no one around me seemed to notice me crumbling. I eventually got sober with the help of a girlfriend at the time for about a year, and then one simple, random day I relapsed at a party. I started doing it more and more often as I felt I had full control. Things stayed this way, only using once every two weeks, or maybe one day of the weekend, and then I met this girl. She loved cocaine just as much as me, and loved paying for it a lot less. I had just landed a great paying job, but still lived check to check with how much I was spending on both of our habits. She slowed down, and I continued to spiral. I started using alone, and pretty soon I stopped feeling guilty for it, or feeling any way at all about it. Cocaine subconsciously became a part of my daily life and for months I didn’t even realize it. 3 overdoses, a seizure and plenty of mini strokes later, I’m still stuck. Still doing it nearly every day, and I have friends that have given up on trying to help. As a 20 year old on high blood pressure meds and at constant risk of hypertension attacks I realize I need to change my life. The biggest issue is my family has no clue and my mother’s heart would be broken. After everything she’s done for me, I can’t have my mistakes in life become her grief and disappointment. It would fuck the relationship beyond end. I guess I’m just wondering where to go from here? Rehab isn’t an option with my job because I can’t afford to lose it and I can’t afford any other care or detox. I fear any one of these next times using might be my last, but I still can’t find it within myself to truly want to change or make an effort.

2023.06.08 11:43 Competitive-Gap-602 Gigabyte Auros Elite rev 1.0 won't POST
Guys, I've been working on this for some time now, but i can't get my head around this.
It all started with one of the finest moments. I decided to update my BIOS from F36 to F38. It went all fine, checksums, versions, verifying, flashing, rebooting in 3, 2, 1. And then nothing...
Tried everything like simple CMOS clear / Gigabyte full MB reset / Q flash Plus to get it to F36 again.
The only thing the PC would do when i power it on: Wake up my monitor, then nothing.
Shipped it to the store where i bought it, the had a look and it just worked.. The MB was shipped to me again and i built it into my case (M2 SSD, GPU, 1x mem, CPU + cooler) nothing again... Then i attached the second fan of my cooler to FAN_OPT and suddenly it came alive and booted to Windows.
Happy days, so i thought.
Shut it down. Inserted 2nd mem, removed GPU to slide my 2nd CPU cooler in the CPU cooler, installed GPU again, attached all the case cabling (USB / Audio) . Nothing, only the screen waking up again.
Removed all hardware and cabling i' ve added, but it will not POST only wake my monitor, which goes to sleep again.
tested different monitor, DP cable, HDMI, GPU, PSU. I'm unable to get it to work.
anyone got a clue or experience with this issue??
Thank you for reading all the way to the end ;)

2023.06.08 11:39 Elmyth1 Call of the Netherdeep and General Adventures in Exandria. Looking for DM [Online] [5e] Firday 5:30 CST/CDT to 9:30CST/CDT
I have wanted to play in the world of Exandria for some time just due to the rich lore behind it. I want the chance to explore this world from the point of view of the books and the influence of myself and fellow players. Preferably I would like Call of the Netherdeep to be a starting point for the rest of the story. Perhaps it could still be the ending if the DM wishes by extending the length while having us do other things in Wildemount and Marquet. I myself would love to wander around in Tal'Dorei. That being said though I really am just looking forward to having a Friday group more than anything to get to know and play with.
I am able to supply Explorer's Guide to Wildemount, Tal'dorei Campaign Setting Reborn and Call of the netherdeep in their digital forms on Roll20 along with Maps with Dynamic Lighting via Roll20 for Call of the Netherdeep. Additionally I own all of the sourcebooks (Apart from Volo's and Bigby Presents: Glory of Giants) and can share them with the game to make prep easier.
The following are general expectations for joining the table.
A mixed balance of both Roleplay and Combat favorably leaning towards the Roleplay
Simple Table Etiquette (Respecting players, 0 Politics from outside the game, Allowing others to share in the gameplay, ETC)
Access to all sourcebooks on roll20, Access to the Dunamancy subclasses and spells, and Access to Matthew Mercer's Blood Hunter class.
Character to NPC & Character to Character relationships that are cut away from when to intimate.
Generally an adult sense of humor
Voice done in Discord in a server made for the game
Additionally while I don't expect them to be a lore master I do hope that the DM is at least semi familiar with the setting beyond the adventure and books or at least is able to know the world well enough to come up with things on the fly in a pinch.
