2023.06.08 12:49 iDetroy DT Hard completed 206 days into Raid - Bit of a Guide

206 days after first starting Raid, I've finally managed to beat the most annoying Doom Tower Rotation on hard.
It took me a lot of manual runs through trial and error, especially as my gear and stats on my champs used are nothing special.
Lurking on this Sub has definitely helped me figuring out the right strategies for certain Floors and Bosses, so I thought about giving some of these tips back and wanted to provide some Information on what I've used to complete this rotation, and even though sometimes it's pretty champion specific, if there's only 1 person out there capable of copying something I've used, it's gonna be worth it.
Regular Floor Stages:
I've used the same team for almost all of the 119 stages, with only swapping out 1 Champion for certain Floors.
As you can see I've been running a poison explosion team, even though for many stages I wasn't even using Teodors explosion as this would have resulted in me clearing a wave too quickly, leaving my champs abilities on CD for the next wave. So many times I've simply started my turn with all 3 of my poison abilities, not using Teodors pop, and then simply manually A1 attacked the waves until they died without me needing to pop the poisons. This worked without any issues on most Floors, but on the stages that hit pretty hard it could get a bit tricky due to not using a Reviver in this team.
That's where Ragash A2 has been helping me out. Using his Stun to delay at least 1 attack from each opponent per wave allowed for some more survivability, and the Continuous Heal of Bad-El Kazaar usually allowed to take at least some hits.
Lady Kimi has been an absolute must for me beyond Stage 80, as my Venomage and BEK are used in my CB team at a speed of less than 190, and none of my Champs besides Kimi has Accuracy above 250, resulting in me dying on every single stage above 80 without ever getting to take a turn if I wasn't running Kimi. Her DT 30% Speed passive and increase Accuracy ability were the only reasons I've got a chance to complete DT Hard in the first place.
There were a few stages with extremely hard hitting single target abilities I could not clear before at least 1-2 of my Champs dying. In those cases I've simply either replaced Ragash or Venomage with Pythion.
No other than these 6 Champions have been used for all 119 regular stages on this rotation.
Stage 90 - Dreadhorn:
Bommal has been the only boss I really had to rely on a single Champion. I was lucky enough to pull myself a Lady Annabelle recently and put here in good enough Regeneration / Immortal Gear that I've managed to beat him after a few hours of retries.
Ragash only has been there to clear the waves, Dreng for the Aura (he's not even built) and Geomancer for his Burn passive to take away a few minutes from Annabelles fight.
Wished I could provide a better strategy not depending on a single Champion, but Bommal really has been a pain in the ass without her.
Stage 100 - Scarab King:
Up until the Stage 20 hard Scarab I was confident that my Teodor could clear all Scarab Stages himself, but as a Solo Champion for him he fell apart at Stage 50, so I had to make a whole team work to beat him.
As I didn't have enough Champions built to rely on a permanent turn meter decrease, I had to work with my Valkyrie and Pythion to manually get through this fight.
The key for this fight was to bring all of my Champions up to around the same speed, so none of them would outspeed the shield provided by Valkyrie. So I've replaced my Pythions HP % Boots and Valkyries DEF % Boots with Speed boots, bringing everybody up to around ~220-230 speed.
Every time my tune got fucked and a Champion would have attacked Scarab without a Shield Buff active on his next turn, I would save their non damage abilities for this specific turn, so they wouldn't cause the Scarab King to Counter Attack. (e.G. Lady Kimi would still outspeed Valkyrie, so I saved her increase Accuracy and Speed Buff A3 ability for the turn she would attack the Scarab without active shield).
The other thing to focus on this fight was Scarabs A2 Ability that would steal buffs from Champions with no active shield going on. As his damage from multiple Attacks where higher than my Shield allowed me to tank, this would results in me losing the Shield and Scarab stealing the Counter Attack Buff from some champion, resulting in immediate defeat on my next turn if I attacked him with CA on him. So I tried to manually tune my turns in a way that all of my turns were used and Counter Attack Buffs on my Champs expired before he used this ability, and my Pythion to use his A2 Block Debuffs so my Champions wouldn't get provoked without the active shield buff ongoing during the 1 turn after this ability.
Definitely also took me 2-3 hours of playing around and an almost 15 minute manual run before finally getting through this.
Stage 110 - Celestial Griffin:
Probably the easiest Boss out of those 4 and the only 1 I can run on auto with a high success rate. Even easier on a manual run as you can perfectly react to the abilities he's about to use.
Not much to say here, used my Poison Abilities + Teodors Pop the rounds before his "Transfer Debuff" ability is used, followed by using my Pythions "Block Debuff" ability on the round he was going to transfer the Debuffs so they wouldn't backfire. Also used Valkyries Shield the turn after he removed my Buffs to have CA up for the 2 following turns.
Stage 120 - Dark Fae:
Dark Fae probably took me the longest to figure out, as again I was lacking built turnmeter decrease Champions, and the Champions I had to use were quite tanky, so killing my own team was the biggest struggle against this boss, so lets get through the team I've used:
Like in the regular floor stages, I was highly dependent on her DT Speed Aura as well as her increase Accuracy Buff on my Champions to get through this. Lady Kimi is the fastest Champion in this team and started my turn with her A3 Ability
Could have used any increase turnmeter champion for this spot, but since I have only built him and Arbiter and he was easier to kill (and his Decrease Speed ability also helped a bit, even unbooked), I've decided to go with him. But the 30% turnmeter increase was pretty much the only thing I needed him for on my first turn.
As I was using Ragash and Nekmo Thar, Dark Fae would heal herself by 20% of her max HP on one of her Abilities, and since I couldn't prevent her from taking a turn, I had to rely on my Venomage 100% Heal Reduction Ability to be used before she could use her healing ability. Also his decrease attack / defense and Poisons definitely helped to shorten the fight
Followed my Kimi and Nekmo taking their turn at the start of the fight, I've used Ragash A2 AoE Attack to kill my cloned Ragash, Pythion (thanks to positive Affinity as he's quite tanky) and Nekmo Thar, only leaving Venomage and Lady Kimi alive, which I then simply killed with some A1 attacks the following turns.
Pythion was important to clear the debuffs my cloned Kimi and Venomage would put on me at the start of the fight, as well as use his "Block Debuff" Ability to use on my team before he would use his cloning ability so I would not gear the "Fear Debuff" on my team.
So yeah, the goal was simply to make sure to have 100% Heal Decrease up on the boss before his healing turn, have "Block Debuff" active before he would use "Fear" and hope for good damage RNG for my Ragash to clear my own team as fast as possible.
1-2 hours and successfull 15 minute manual run later it has been done.
Stats of all champions mentioned:
Hope this could at least help one single person out there, and good luck everybody beating this shitty rotation \o/

2023.06.08 12:48 LGBTQIA_Over50 Help - what places hire middle aged women with experience USA

I have multi-industry skills and advanced degrees. I can leave off the advanced degree and keep one on the resume.
I need income now. I can't get hired into survival, barely get by, gas money jobs. Yet I need gas and food money now.
"But you won't stay, so why should we hire you when you'll look somewhere else?"
Is pan handling the alternative?
I have to eat, maintain a car, pay credit card balance, car insurance renewal, have a place to live. That isn't possible on a $20/hour job.
$20/hour equals $16/hour net minus dental care and benefits
"You should apply to the professional leadership jobs"
True, but I can't get those. We are dealing with anti credentialism now (Google it). That means those who spent years developing critical thinking skills are unemployable because if a manager interviews me and I have too much education and they don't have any, they'll hire their friend.
I can't do physical labor. Yet I applied for a passenger conductor job at Amtrak. Will they hire me? I dunno. I can walk and talk with people. I can't lift very heavy machine equipment. I have all the office, technology and professional business skills.
I need an income to cover an apt, utilities, a car, insurance, gas, food, clothes, dental and medical care. One root canal and crown is $3,800. My one car repair cost $1,800.
What is the "get a job to bring in money while you keep looking?"
Employers won't hire me if I work at McDonald's. McDonald's won't hire me period. I can't do fast food work because it requires janitorial work, doing the work of more than one person when people call out, high stress on low pay, and no way to pay for an apt to have a place to live.
Hotels won't hire me. I applied for general manager, but those jobs are filled by 20 and 30 year olds. Pay is $55-$60k minus taxes and benefits. Night auditor, and front desk are the equivalent to fastfood gas money, customer facing, demanding, "hurry up I need to go ma'am," demanding jobs.
The local Walmart has non English speaking people. They won't hire me. They are work opportunity tax credit hires (Google WOTC).
Starbucks is too fast paced and chaotic between mobile orders, drive thru window and having to wear a one sided ear piece headset at all times (i can't do that while walking and talking to customers face to face while the ear piece is on).
I need something with early morning hours, that is safe and will pay me more than $20/hour.
Please help me with ideas. I am aging out of the workforce and no one wants to hire me due to my age. There are a lot of scammer ads on Reddit and Indeed.
I'll be panhandling soon due to lack of pay. I can't wait tables or bartend. Thats too fast paced and chaotic like Starbucks.
Temp agencies can't market me because they are sales people who have no industry experience. I worked in HR and staffing companies aren't HR people. They market work opportunity tax credit hires to save the employers money and those employers general terminate the assignments on a whim. Staffing agencies are glorified pimps.
I don't need to prove my value. I have value. Employers want to pay cheap and force people to cohabitate.
What ideas do you have, and I'll respond intermittently.

2023.06.08 12:48 DisastrousProblem156 Looking for a potential friendship - Needing to talk to someone

Hey there! My thoughts might be all over the place, so bear with me if this post turns into a bit of a mess. But, I'm writing with a specific person in mind - someone who's looking for a real, authentic friendship. I know you're out there somewhere, hidden in between all the bots, oneliners, and ghosters. This is my last-ditch effort to convince you to hit me up, because trust me, I've been trying hard to find you.
I'm here because I'm looking for a true friend. Someone with whom I can connect on a deeper level, purely platonically. I want to break away from the monotony of daily life and experience something more meaningful. Being able to confide in each other and share our worries, dreams, and fears on sleepless nights is a dream of mine. I want a friendship where we can be vulnerable and authentic with each other, and rely on each other in good and bad times. It might sound silly, but I want someone to call my friend. All I have to offer to you is my presence.
I am here because I am lonely. I am surrounded by a large and loving family, and acquaintances that genuinely care about me and my well-being, spoiling me far more than I deserve. And yet, it seems that I move through everyone like a ghost--impossible to hold on to each other. I am here because there's a whole buried world inside of me that's dying to come to the surface. A symphony of a million diverse voices seeking to manifest.
I'm in my mid-twenties and have a passion for British Pop, Rock, and Electronica music. In addition, I enjoy watching old movies to educate myself. I find peace in meditation, reading, and nature, although I'm dealing with some health issues. People consider me a bit odd, shy, and reserved, and I remain optimistic about everything -- a good listener. Overall, I am a sucker for beautiful things and find joy in good books, great music, and movies.
To make communication easier, it would be best if you're in Europe, within -3 to +3 hours of CET. I prefer to chat through writing on Discord for now, ideally 20-30 minutes a day. But, I'm also open to chatting during my usually sleepless weekends. Just to be clear, I'm only looking for a platonic friendship and it may take some time for me to feel comfortable sharing my life with you.

2023.06.08 12:46 throwingaway4678 being blackmailed to stay with guy or he'll tell my bf im "cheating"

throwaway for obvious reasons as he uses reddit
ive been friends with this male for a while dating back to when i was underage and he was well over 20 years old. i was dumb and thought id never find anyone else and he was the one of me blah blah all those shennanigans. He's always had mental issues (bpd diagnosed, others) and is really manipulative. whenever he meets my friends he'd harrass them, seeth with hatred whenever they talk, and try to convince me to drop them. He'd always say that if i left he'd kill himself and i know he has plans on doing it later on in life which is maybe why ive put up with so much as ive felt his life is in my hands. things have been getting bad recently so ive been wanting to cut contact with him as i've grown and realized how horrible he is to me and everyone around me/or him. ive told him alot of things about me and my secrets, and other embarrasing / meant to be kept private stuff. he's been my closest friend for a while and i really dont know how ive been putting up with this for so long. As i said before we've been fighting for a while with things getting really hostile, and now he's threatning to tell my boyfriend that i "cheated" with him if i try to leave. I would never do this to my lover as he means the world to me and its really fucking scary because im stuck with this psycho and i dont know what lengths he'd go to in order to fuck me over. Im scaried that he'll forge screenshots between me and him or other stuff because i know he's like that. im really lost and its taking a big toll on my mental health i cant handle this anymore, he is such a burden to my life and my friends dont deserve to deal with his shit.
im not much older then i was originally as im still under 20, but i have come to the realization that he is a genuine horrible person and i've been groomed and manipulated, but how do i get out of this situation?
if you've read all of this and are able to respond, thank you so much it means the world to me.

2023.06.08 12:43 lifemedicalsupply1 Renting Home Health Equipment for Personalized Healthcare Solutions

In today's fast-paced world, personalized healthcare solutions have become a necessity for individuals seeking convenient and accessible options. With advancements in technology, renting home health equipment has emerged as a viable solution for individuals who require specialized medical devices and equipment in the comfort of their own homes. This article explores the benefits of renting home health equipment for personalized healthcare solutions, highlighting its convenience, cost-effectiveness, and impact on overall well-being.
The Rise of Personalized Healthcare Solutions: With the rising demand for personalized healthcare solutions, the medical industry has witnessed a significant shift in recent years. Individuals are now looking for ways to take control of their health and well-being, seeking alternatives to traditional hospital visits and medical treatments. Renting home health equipment offers a practical and accessible option for individuals to manage their health conditions and receive personalized care without leaving their homes.
Convenience at Your Doorstep: Renting home health equipment brings unparalleled convenience to individuals in need of personalized healthcare solutions. With the availability of a wide range of medical devices and equipment, such as home oxygen concentrators, mobility aids, and sleep therapy machines, patients can conveniently access the necessary equipment without the hassle of visiting medical facilities regularly. This convenience not only saves time but also allows individuals to maintain their daily routines and independence while receiving the required care.
Cost-Effective Solution: One of the significant advantages of renting home health equipment is its cost-effectiveness. Purchasing medical equipment outright can be prohibitively expensive, especially for individuals who require specialized devices or have temporary medical needs. Renting offers a more affordable alternative, allowing individuals to access high-quality equipment without the burden of hefty upfront costs. Additionally, maintenance and servicing expenses are often included in the rental package, relieving individuals of any additional financial strain.
Tailored Solutions for Diverse Needs: Renting home health equipment provides individuals with access to a wide range of devices tailored to their specific needs. Whether it's a continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) machine for sleep apnea, a wheelchair for mobility support, or a nebulizer for respiratory conditions, rental providers offer a comprehensive selection of equipment to address various healthcare requirements. This personalized approach ensures that individuals receive the most appropriate equipment to manage their conditions effectively.
Maintaining Quality Standards: When renting home health equipment, individuals can rest assured knowing that the devices they receive meet stringent quality standards. Reputable rental providers follow strict guidelines and regulations to ensure the equipment's safety and efficacy. This commitment to quality guarantees that individuals receive reliable and well-maintained devices, promoting optimal health outcomes and reducing the risk of complications.
Flexibility for Evolving Needs: Health conditions can change over time, requiring individuals to adapt their healthcare solutions accordingly. Renting home health equipment offers the flexibility to upgrade or switch devices as needed. If a patient's condition improves or changes, they can easily exchange their current equipment for a more suitable option without the financial burden of purchasing new devices. This flexibility allows individuals to maintain an up-to-date and effective healthcare regimen tailored to their evolving needs.

2023.06.08 12:37 ralncsu Coworker said she made $32k last year selling Optavia?

I had a work dinner last night and a coworker mentioned she’s a “health coach.” She told us she made $32,000 last year from her “side hustle.” She then told us it was a “lot of work.” When another person asked how much time she put in to it, she said she works 20-30 hours a week on this. Other coworker said wow that is basically another job, she quickly said “oh no that’s not right. Probably 25 hours a month.” So are MLM’s a lot of work or are they passive income you can do from anywhere? 🤔 Also, how much of this is done on company time during your real job?

2023.06.08 12:30 columbuslasikvision2 Life Without Glasses: Exploring the Freedom and Confidence of LASIK Surgery

Imagine waking up in the morning and seeing the world clearly without reaching for your glasses or fumbling for your contact lenses. For millions of people who have undergone LASIK surgery, this vision of a glasses-free life has become a reality. LASIK (Laser-Assisted in Situ Keratomileusis) is a revolutionary procedure that has transformed the lives of countless individuals by correcting refractive errors and providing a newfound sense of freedom and confidence. In this article, we will delve into the transformative effects of LASIK surgery and how it has become a popular choice for those seeking visual independence.

The Freedom of Visual Clarity:

One of the most significant advantages of LASIK surgery is the freedom it grants individuals from the constant reliance on glasses or contact lenses. After the procedure, many patients experience a remarkable improvement in their vision, with some achieving 20/20 vision or better. This newfound clarity allows them to engage in activities without the limitations imposed by eyewear, whether it's participating in sports, enjoying outdoor adventures, or simply savoring the beauty of everyday life without the constant hassle of glasses or lenses.

Boosting Self-Confidence:

Wearing glasses or contact lenses can sometimes affect a person's self-esteem, leading to feelings of self-consciousness or dependency. LASIK surgery can have a profound impact on an individual's self-confidence by eliminating the need for corrective eyewear. With clearer vision, people feel more confident in their appearance and find it easier to connect with others without the barrier of glasses. The newfound confidence can extend beyond physical appearance, positively influencing professional and personal aspects of life, and allowing individuals to pursue their goals and ambitions with a renewed sense of self-assurance.

2023.06.08 12:27 This-Art-3263 yeah, i think i realize this isn’t for me

i’m a 20 year old girl whos a senior in college right now. i guess yeah, “i have my whole life ahead of me”. sure. but seeing a bunch of people from my high school have kids gave me temporary baby fever. im really glad im on bc right now lol my mother had me at 17. im saying my age because i can not imagine having a child at that age. a 17 year old is a baby to me. i dont think im even capable of doing it now.
because of her ignorance, i guess, she wasn’t the best mom. ill keep it short but you can consider my home life abusive. but, now that i’m older i dont blame her. working single mother (who’s literally a fucking child herself) with an unsupportive family. yet, she was demonized when she lost her temper with me. hell, i demonized her for years. i dont anymore though. maybe its the women and gender studies/sociology classes rotting my brain (thats a joke, i genuinely love those classes) but considering how subhuman mothers, especially teen mothers are treated, i dont hold any anger towards her for acting this way. she beats herself up more than i could, anyway. i took a class on working mothers, and how it even stems to grandmotherhood. at all times, we’re expected to be some sort of superhuman. that sounds so exhausting.
i have my fair share of history with mental health issues. ptsd and gad diagnosis, at one point i had mdd but tested out of it. i know for a fact id have either postpartum depression or postpartum psychosis. i’m like 100% sure of it.
i thought i was a planner. oh im gonna take my mom by example and do everything right by my kid. im 20 and was formatting my life for a kid i dont even know. if youd ask me a couple months ago why i was going to college, it was “to be financial stable for my child”. i even asked a while ago on reddit. but, why not for myself? i had weight loss surgery a while ago, cant have a tummy tuck cause “what ab when u get pregnant”. ive started resenting a child that doesn’t even exist yet.
my mom went to grad school. she somehow went to college amidst the bullshit. i’m unbelievably proud of her. but, would i willingly put myself through that? i’m just not so sure
if we only live one of these lives, is it really so selfish to want to live it for yourself? i was raised in nyc. i love nyc. i never want to leave nyc. im not built for the suburbs. i like quiet apartments. i love poetry. i love serenity. i love journaling. i love taking walks and just absorbing everything i see around me. it seems like only in the past year have i started to form interests. actually like things because i like them and not because im influenced to. i finally feel like im forming my own individual personality, and when i think of children, all i can think about is the impending doom of the death of my personality. the death of my personality, as now i have to tend and help develop someone elses. thats a scary ass thought. ive been told and even pressured by one of my exes to have a child, and the thought always scared the shit out of me. i dont care how “motherly” i act. i almost died last year because my heart gave out due to a pretty severe hypoglycemic attack. the year before, i shattered my leg. these experiences have made me realize how important it is to live life the way you want to, despite what anyone else thinks. every decision you make matters, so make them in a way that fits you.
my boyfriend wants kids, but it’s not now that he’s thinking about it. he talks about it in that “maybe one day” mentality. that’s the only downside to this. we’re talking about it though. he understands and empathizes with me, at least. thank god. hes just telling me to let time take its course & not overthink it right now. im grateful to have someone like him because ive lurked the regretfulparents sub and im horrified to see so many women only have kids bc their husband pressured them to. i was almost in that position myself, multiple times with multiple guys (i dont get their obsession with ‘putting a baby in you’) that shit is absolutely terrifying.
the funniest thing about it, is i work with kids. and i love them. they’re great pick me ups. i love how silly they are. my whole career will be child based, ironically. but that almost solidified my decision. i love clocking out and going back home to my cat and indulging time and money in myself. guess im selfish, but if you only live this short life once, why wouldn’t you be? these tiny humans are so much responsibility, and i love them enough to know i’m just not capable of that responsibility.

2023.06.08 12:24 FragPanda Class Idea "Stained Sword"

I hope the upcoming paragraph will entertain you to some degree. I'm not that deep into the lore - so if there any mistakes don't judge me. I will be happy if you point out those mistakes in constructive way and maybe give me pointers on where i can catch up to them. I'm here for the class idea but i felt a need to give the class a bit of a background.
This is about Noriel. A knight of Zakarum who always questioned the righteousness of the actions of the church. He had to leave the church as he couldn't agree with the church and how they handled things - especially the crusades. In his heart he swore an oath to protect the people, to protect life not to conquer the lands and forcing a religion onto other people.
After he left, he joined the Demon Hunters in the Dreadlands. He heard that they focused on slaying demons and walking their respective path alone. A way of working that fit Noriels ideals. As he aquired new skills, new ways of thinking while training with the Order-masters, he engaged in battle with countless demons in the dreadlands as there was an abundance of them.
But one thing wouldn't escape his mind: death. Death was always imminent, countless and unstoppable. He saw so many knights, demon hunters and innocenct people die to likes of demons. It didn't matter how skilled they were with their swords, shields, conceilment techniques or even the ability to use holy magic. The battles against demons were always exhausting and always had the price: the life of the people trying to protect or those that should be protected.
All of this changed Noriels attitude. He had enough of it. He swore to protect life and even with the exchange of his own. So why wouldn't he go to the extreme with it and decided to delve into dark magic. If he couldn't beat all those masses in a "good" and righteous way, why shouldn't he derive from his path.
So he began to look into the ways on how to learn to wield dark magic and was soon able to join the Priests of Rathma. There he abandoned his surname, as it was expected of one as a Priest of Rathma, and worked his path to be an acolyte inside the order. Achieving the rank of acolyte was enough for Noriel to learn about the magic that he wanted to use. Magic that he could infuse the tools he was most profound with, his weaponry. He learned how to bear this tainting magic and how he could minimise the consequences of using it, not that he got rid of the risks involving it.
With that he began to wander around Sanctuary again. His only goal was to chase after demons and sending them back to the burning hells. Not once did it cross his mind, during all this, to pick up his surname again, as he thought that it would sully the name of his ancestors.
This journey continued for a while and rumors started to spread about a sole wanderer eradicating demons all on his own. Because of this he gained followers that shared the same thought: the normal ways and the light are not powerful enough to stop demons from torturing this world. While Noriel gained more and more followers, they turned this small group of individuals more into an order, nameless at the time and only equipped with one purpose.
But for the people within Sanctuary which witnessed their battles, which saw the remains of the battlefields and felt the tainted energy that was still looming around, left behind and sticking to environment, the order had gained a name from those people. This name was so fitting it spread like wildfire, every person that witnessed the order without knowing their name would connect this name in an instant to what they had witnessed. But this name wasn't just fitting, it also held the mixed feelings the people had about the order.
Order of the Stained Sword, a light cast by darkness
So with that out of the way, lets get to the class idea. I personally think that this class (even without the background i just gave) would fit really good in the diablo universe and it would also scratch my itch about a "real" sword fighting class.
So here is what I cooked for sword centered class utilizing corrupting magic: So the idea is that the main way of fighting is done with the weapons in hand and the magic they use mainly provides additional utility and dmg while "corrupting" the user to some degree Basically a every magical skill provides up and downsides for the player to play with Those magical skills would be categorized into demonic, blood and dark magic
As the main stats in D4 are always devided into two: i wanted to give this class a more connected stat spread in comparison to the other classes, as the their fighting and casting is intertwined as well Dex would provide 80% of the skill dmg stat and 20% for the resource generation and int would provide the the 20% of the skill dmg and 80% for the resource generation
For weapon proficiencies: 2h: sword, polearms, scythes 1h: daggers, swords, scythes
Core skills would consist of something along the lines of: 2 “generic” skills that can be used by any weapon combination in hand 2 skills that are equippable either way but behave differently on 1h/1h or 2h usage 1 skill enabling 2h + dagger - with a downside cause of the corrupting magic that lets the user allow to wield 2h and dagger 1 skill focusing a bit more on the magical part like weapons dancing around the character in some sort of way - you get the picture
For the class ability, I had a rough sketch in my head in which the user can choose between 3 different paths which sounds generic but I think there is some charm to it: A - deep diving into the magic - mana is a bigger factor now, skills can be used if depleted -> cost HP B1 - good ol’ half/half - sacrificing an arm and opposite leg - to acquire demonification in just those limbs, while keeping sanity - demonic enhanced combat - either way of demonifcation for the half/half would work B2 - instead of half/half focusing on demonifcation - demonic possession would also be cool and could fit this path C - staying true to its core - honing the skills of weapon mastery - maybe buff over time while not having used a corrupting skill - while the corrupting skill itself also increases in power - with greater drawbacks too
I would love to hear your thoughts about the class idea and if you think that this class would fit the diablo universe as well as i think it would. As i said any pointers regarding the background story are appreciated And with that I wish you all happy blasting - may the butcher not mess with your hardcore dreams for our fellow hardcore players

2023.06.08 12:20 Mucksh How to fix a broken HAT Plot start?

In the first 20 minutes of my current playthrough a xenon I destroyed the HAT HQ station, so it was relocated to one of the HAT freeport a few sectors above. Seems like reen omaras office the first person that you meet that starts the HAT plot can't spawn there so I was unable to start the mission. I am allready many hours in and realized how many other stories like the paranid and split plot broke but don't want to start a new game.
I allready destroyed it after they build a new trading station in hatikvah choice and their HQ got successfully relocated there, but can't still start the mission cause reen omaras office isn't spawned there. Seems to be a fix that worked for many other but not for me. I compared the savefile with an older one and there where some extra scripts with stuff like patch in the name so maybe this broke with an newer update by the devs trying to fix the plot. Also tried to reset the mission triggers that are called at the start of a game but reen omara and the office don't get an id and aren't set with the scripts. But seems that at least dal was spawned and exists somewhere in the world.
Is there any way to edit the savefiles to skip all missions with reen? I think that could fix it but I just don't know where to start excatly

2023.06.08 12:20 Rdftyrgbg What is an example of return abuse?

Return abuse refers to unethical or fraudulent practices related to the return of purchased goods. It involves exploiting return policies for personal gain, princess polly return policy often at the expense of retailers or other consumers.
Here's an example of return abuse:
Example: Wardrobe Switcheroo
John purchases a high-end designer outfit for a special occasion. After wearing it to the event, he realizes he doesn't want to keep the outfit and decides to engage in return abuse. He buys a similar outfit from a different retailer, carefully switches the tags and packaging, and then returns the original designer outfit claiming it's the new one he just purchased.
In this scenario, John is intentionally deceiving the retailer by returning a different item than what he originally purchased. This type of return abuse is dishonest and can result in financial losses for the retailer. It also undermines the trust and fairness of return policies meant to protect genuine consumer rights.
Return abuse can take various forms, such as:
  1. Wardrobing: This occurs when individuals purchase items for temporary use, such as clothing or electronics, with the intention of returning them after use.
  2. Serial returning: Some individuals habitually purchase and return items without a legitimate reason, often taking advantage of lenient return policies or loopholes.
  3. Counterfeit returns: Unscrupulous individuals may purchase genuine products, replace them with counterfeit items, and then return the counterfeit products for a refund.
  4. Renting: In some cases, individuals may purchase items, use them for a specific purpose, and then return them as if they were never used, essentially treating retailers as rental services.
  5. Return fraud: This includes actions like returning stolen merchandise for a refund or returning used or damaged items as if they were in new condition.
Return abuse not only affects retailers financially but also leads to stricter return policies, making it more difficult for genuine consumers to exercise their rights. It is important for retailers to implement measures to identify and prevent return abuse while balancing the needs of honest customers.

2023.06.08 12:19 columbuslasikvision2 Exploring the Benefits and Procedure of LASIK Eye Surgery

Our eyes play a crucial role in our daily lives, allowing us to experience the world in all its beauty. However, for those who struggle with vision impairments, the reliance on glasses or contact lenses can be a constant inconvenience. Fortunately, technological advancements in the field of ophthalmology have made it possible to correct refractive errors and achieve clear vision through LASIK eye surgery. In this article, we will delve into the benefits and procedure of LASIK, shedding light on this life-changing procedure that has helped millions of people regain their visual freedom.

Understanding LASIK Eye Surgery:

LASIK, which stands for Laser-Assisted In Situ Keratomileusis, is a surgical procedure designed to reshape the cornea, the clear front surface of the eye. By altering the cornea's shape, LASIK corrects common vision problems such as nearsightedness (myopia), farsightedness (hyperopia), and astigmatism. The procedure utilizes an excimer laser to precisely remove microscopic amounts of tissue from the cornea, allowing light to focus properly on the retina.

Benefits of LASIK Eye Surgery:

Improved Visual Acuity: One of the primary benefits of LASIK is the significant improvement in visual acuity. Many patients experience a dramatic reduction in their dependence on glasses or contact lenses, and some achieve 20/20 vision or better.
Convenience and Lifestyle Enhancement: LASIK eliminates the need for daily use of glasses or contacts, providing freedom from the hassles of maintaining and cleaning lenses, purchasing replacements, and dealing with discomfort or irritation. Activities such as swimming, playing sports, or waking up to clear vision become much more accessible without the hindrance of corrective eyewear.
Rapid Recovery and Long-lasting Results: Following LASIK surgery, most patients experience a rapid recovery and notice improved vision within a day or two. The results are typically long-lasting, offering clear vision for years to come. While age-related changes in vision may occur, the procedure's effects generally remain stable.

The LASIK Procedure:

LASIK is an outpatient procedure that typically takes around 15 minutes per eye. Here is a brief overview of the LASIK procedure:
Consultation and Evaluation: The journey begins with a comprehensive eye examination, where the ophthalmologist will evaluate your eye health, measure your prescription, and assess your candidacy for LASIK surgery.
Corneal Flap Creation: During the procedure, a thin flap is created on the cornea's surface using either a microkeratome blade or a femtosecond laser. This flap is gently lifted to expose the underlying corneal tissue.
Corneal Reshaping: The excimer laser is then used to remove precise amounts of corneal tissue, reshaping the cornea to correct the specific refractive error.
Flap Re-positioning: Once the corneal reshaping is complete, the surgeon gently repositions the corneal flap, allowing it to naturally adhere without the need for stitches.

2023.06.08 12:17 Konstantin_B [Long] Opinion: I really despised the writing in S2 Finale

Hi guys, i've been a big star trek fan for all my life. Watched TNG, DS9, Enterprise, Voyager, TOS, and all the movies. I recently watched Picard and SNW for the first times, and finally Discovery fell into my lap as the last major series that I haven't seen.
I just finished season 2 (full disclosure, i have not seen later seasons yet) and I have to say, that finale was probably the worst episode of star trek that I have ever seen. I looked up reviews, other reddit posts, etc. to see what other people had to say about this finale, and I have to say, the criticism is not strong enough. I spent about an hour drafting this post out of pure contempt, but if anyone makes it to the end, i applaud your commitment.
I'm not going to critique acting, directing, cinematography, or visual effects. Disco actually has a lot of strong points with these aspects. I want to focus on what I think went wrong with the story, because I think it speaks to what we want as star trek fans, and because i really have nothing against any of the cast members or the production team (except the writers).
I don't like when writers feel the need to close every tiny plothole to make chronologies work. What ends up happening, which we saw in this episode, was that you spend way too much time focusing on the details that don't actually matter for this specific series. And you are still guaranteed to miss something, which they definitely did miss a lot of things. You end up focusing too much on getting two paintings to line up, instead of actually making sure each painting is meaningful. If you carve a marble sculpture too much, trying to address every imperfection, eventually you're left with nothing. Im not worried about how Discovery ties into the canon. Im more worried about whether or not Discovery is a series good enough to be a part of the canon.
I can't believe they spent so many episodes building up the mysterious figure of the red angel, who possessed technology beyond what the federation could even comprehend, just for that person to end up being a regular ol' person - coincidentally a starfleet officer on board the Discovery and also one of Spock's half siblings - in a time traveling suit, which for some reason is designed only for one person. I was fascinated to actually learn about a species that was way beyond the federation in tech. We've seen something similar before in the form of the Borg, but never in the context of a species that wasn't like belligerently destructive. I was interested to see what a benevolent superspecies would look like, and how humans (who arguably value freedom over safety) would deal with the idea that they were at another species' mercy, albeit one with good intentions. Would we side with the good people, even if they refused to give us a voice? That's a plotline i'd love to explore. They had a lot of potential to do just this with Control, but Control ended up being pretty incompetent, monolithic, and universally destructive, just like the borg. Leeland was also a pretty boring dude who we didn't spend enough time focusing on.
We also spent about 30 minutes with Michael travelling to the different signals, where we just see what already happened again for about 5 seconds, and then SHE DISAPPEARS. I wanted to punch the screen when this happened. How can you possibly go back in time to set current events in motion, and not show us what it was that they actually set in motion?? it's like the writers thought that as long as the red angel did a bar crawl of the signals, that's good enough. No! I'm not watching this show just to watch michael watch stuff! I wanted to get new information about those old sequences that I didn't know the first time I saw them, and I didn't get that. The main feeling i was left with was confusion.
And for the love of god, I can barely watch when they do this stupid thing where starfleet officers are dying by the second, and yet main characters don't mind having unnecessary, 5 minute long sentimental conversations, which are literally, in real time, costing lives. where is the sense of urgency?? It makes all these higher-ups look so incompetent, so out-of-touch with the deaths of their crew members. Think Janeway. Think Picard. Think Sisto. None of them were the type of person to sit around and let people die for the sake of a personal revelation. When you lock yourself into a huge space battle where crew members are fighting just to give you enough time to get something done, it's insulting to sit through long-winded apologies and goodbyes. And then in the end it only works because, like, spock had a hunch? Really?
This was an episode that focused on spectacle, on suspense, and on getting across the finish line. It's antithetical to what star trek is. People can watch star wars, or harry potter, or lord of the rings, if they are looking for a series with cool emotional moments that doesn't stress itself too much on the "how?" aspect (in other words, the science) or the "why?" aspect (the questions that the premise itself raises). Star trek lives in this grey area of conceivability, where the technology we see is believable, even if unachievable in practice. But this season just went completely off into the realm of fantasy, and it abandoned the idea that fans need to be relatively convinced of the tech. Then they made this lame, half-assed attempt to close plotholes, which to me just screams "we didn't feel like putting in the work to make a good episode, but we also don't want to be criticized for writing a bad one." I don't care that holographic communications suddenly stopped. I care that the USS Discovery just miraculously gets erased from the records, and the justification for that is thrown together in about 20 seconds.
I would rather have seen a series where the chronology doesn't perfectly hand off to the next series, but where the story itself is consistent or at least coherent. A good show rewards the audience for paying attention and for picking up on details. In this episode, i felt the more i paid attention, the more i was punished.
I have always loved star trek because it is in many ways an allegory for humanity. It expands us to the size of the entire universe, and we find pieces of ourselves everywhere we go. It's beautiful. But what it is not - is a michael bay, explosion-filled, teary-eyed show where as long as we feel slightly emotional, who cares if it makes sense? It's like all starfleet principles went out the window whenever a main character felt a lil sad. I can't help but feel like the writing in this finale was so unbelievably negligent. Star trek is great because it brings tears to people's eyes when we feel empathy towards something we barely recognize. But here, we're getting closer to the genre of fantasy drama, and further from science fiction. We spent about 5 minutes watching spock and michael say bye to each other, but we spent literally zero seconds unpacking this whole, you know, TIME WORMHOLE thing.
I'm sorry for the length. I'm just so frustrated because it seems like apparently we can only be entertained by laser beams and time travel, and apparently we're too stupid for the writers to feel like they need to make any kind of sense. I hope the next seasons do a better job than the end of this one, because i gotta say i am not terribly encouraged by what i just saw. I don't have anyting against anyone who enjoys this show, i just think that paramount can do a lot better than this.

2023.06.08 12:15 basilavacado F4M Looking for Some Plots

Hello! I’m looking for people who have plots to share! It doesn’t matter if they’re new, old, or previously abandoned. They can be vague ideas or something more detailed. Even just a character you want to play or one you want me to play is fine too. I am looking for story and character driven plots. I have no problem helping with ideas. I’m also happy to act as a GM. I main female characters, but can play npcs of any gender.
Favorite Genres: High Fantasy, Low Fantasy, SOL, Romance, Adventure, Occult, Supernatural, Steampunk
Favorite Periods: Medieval, Victorian, Modern
Favorite Characters to Play: Witches, Ghosts, Artists, Knights, Nobles, Students, Thieves, Domestic Helpers, Demons, Fae, Mermaids, Cultists, Hermits
Favorite Settings: Schools, Libraries, Large Manors/Estates, Haunted Houses, On the Road, Taverns, Sketchy Places, Boats, Catacombs
None of these things are requirements! They’re listed to give you an idea of my general tastes.
The only fandoms I’ll do right now are World of Warcraft, Stardew Valley, and Persona 5. I will play against OCs or cannons, but only rp OCs myself.
I don’t have too many requirements. Just be over 18, write at least a paragraph, and use 3rd person.
A typical post of mine is between 100-300 words, but I can easily fill a discord limit if that’s my partner’s preference. Just let me know. I post at least once a day, often more, but I can’t do real-time sessions. I usually use discord to rp, but reddit is fine too.
If you have a plot and think we’d be a good fit, then feel free to reach out through chats or PMs with a brief description of your plot/ideas. Thanks for reading!

2023.06.08 12:15 abedofthorns Best suburbs to live on a 61k salary?

Hi everyone! Where are the best suburbs to live as a single person on a salary of 61k? (I realise this isn't particularly high lol.) Considering average rental costs, distance from city centre, and of course safety. I've been looking at Carnegie, Northcote, and Preston. Any other suggestions? 😊 Thank you in advance from someone not used to city living!
