Binance is charged with mass wash trading in this lawsuit and were also accused of mass insider trading in the CFTC lawsuit . At one point, wash trading allegedly accounted for 30% of volume of a token on Binance to even 50% done by one entity with dozens of accounts. Allegations looks really ugly
Almost 2 months ago, the CFTC charged Binance with, among many other things, mass insider trading on a massive scale. The lawsuit outlined over 300 'house' accounts directly and indirectly affiliated with Binance who were trading on the platform.

In addition to this, the CFTC lawsuit outlines wash trading by Binance. The wash trading was done by entities that functioned under CZ's direct control and influence.

In particular a single entity in Sigma Chain was responsible for washing trading using a network of dozens of accounts. The SEC lawsuit outlines a particular token, COTI, where Sigma Chain wash trading responsible for 30% of total volume on Binance at a point.

There are also quotes of communication by Binance employees where they appear to admit requesting Sigma Chain to deceptively increase trading volume on Binance where they had gone as high as faking 50% of trading volume.

2023.06.08 14:56 FXMacroGuy FOMC Crib Sheet: Every Fed comment since their last meeting summarised

šŸ‘‰ FOMC next week
šŸ‘‰ Here's a chronological summary of every Fed speaker's comments since their last meeting in May
šŸ‘‰ A PDF version that's a bit easier to read is available here: Google Drive
šŸ‘‰ Here we go...
Harker (Neutral) 2023-6-1 T-7: My preference is for skipping a rate hike, it's prudent to skip a rate hike in June, let's skip and see how it goes, we are close to the place where we can hold rates in place, sees promising signs that the Fed's rate hikes are working, disinflation is disappointingly slow, if inflation started coming down unexpectedly fast then we could cut rates but that is not my forecast, sees 2023 GDP growth below 1% and unemployment at 4.4%, expects inflation to fall to around 3.5% this year and 2.5% next year with 2% in 2025.
Bullard (Hawk) 2023-6-1 T-7: Rates are at the low end of what is arguably sufficiently restrictive, monetary policy landscape in much better shape today with the FFR at a more appropriate level than it was a year ago.
Bowman (Neutral) 2023-5-31 T-8: Residential real estate appears to be rebounding with implications for the Fed's inflation battle, while lower rents will eventually be reflected in inflation data home prices themselves are levelling out.
Collins (Neutral) 2023-5-31 T-8: Inflation is simply too high, the Fed is intent on reducing inflation.
Harker (Neutral) 2023-5-31 T-8: I am in the camp that we can skip a meeting, it would be a skip and not a pause, a pause says you may hold there for a while and I don't know that we're ready for that yet, data still to come may change my mind, need some slowing in the labour market, the economy keeps chugging along, not seeing much of a credit crunch after SVB.
Jefferson (Neutral) 2023-5-31 T-8: Skipping a rate increase at the coming meeting would allow us to see more data before deciding on the extent of additional tightening, holding rates constant should not be taken to mean rates have reached a peak for this tightening cycle, inflation remains too high but some measures have been slowing, monetary policy works with a lag and a year is not long enough to feel the full effect, base case outlook is not for a recession.
Mester (Hawk) 2023-5-31 T-8: No compelling reason to wait on rate hikes, more of a compelling case for bringing rates up and then holding for a while, decision could still be swayed by NFP and the next inflation report.
Barkin (Neutral) 2023-5-30 T-9: There is uncertainty around where rates need to go, it would be shocking if rates fell again to zero in a future recession, hopes that rates can stat at a "neutral, normal" level for some time, seeing evidence that rate hikes are curbing demand, CRE strain appears focused in B and C quality office buildings in downtown areas and not the entire sector.
Goolsbee (Neutral) 2023-5-28 T-11: Trying to make it a point not to prejudge and make decision when we're still weeks out from the next FOMC meeting, we are going to get a lot of important data between now and then.
Mester (Hawk) 2023-5-26 T-13: Everything is on the table for June, still more data to see ahead of the June meeting, doesn't know exactly how tight monetary policy is right now, does think they will have to tighten "a bit more", important not to under-tighten, the Fed has made slow progress on inflation and that's concerning, may have to revise up her inflation projections in the June SEP, hasn't seen much sign that banking stress is affecting credit conditions.
Barkin (Neutral) 2023-5-25 T-14: Demand is definitely cooling in part because it was overstimulated during the pandemic, rate hikes are also helping to reduce demand, some businesses are still saying they need to raise prices, the labour market is quite tight.
Collins (Neutral) 2023-5-25 T-14: The Fed may be at or near a time to pause rate hikes, a pause would give the Fed space to measure impact, inflation is too high but there are promising signs of moderation, banking sector likely to weigh on demand.
Bostic (Neutral) 2023-5-24 T-15: Best case scenario is the Fed will not consider a rate cut well into 2024, will base rate decisions on data, does not want to be locked into a pre-determined path, expects to see stress in the jobs market when inflation is falling towards the target.
Waller (Hawk) 2023-5-24 T-15: Does not expect data in the next couple of months to make it clear the terminal interest rate has been reached, does not support stopping hikes unless there is clear evidence that inflation is moving down to 2% target, prudent risk management may suggest skipping a hike in June and leaning towards July, need to maintain flexibility for June meeting, concerned about the lack of progress on inflation, a rebound in housing market is raising questions about how sustained lower rent increases will be, doesn't like that we have MBS on the balance sheet, there are good yield curve inversions and that may be what we have now, a good inversion is when it suggests inflation will come down.
Logan (Neutral) 2023-5-23 T-16: Backstop should be available whenever banks need it including nights, weekends or holidays.
Barkin (Neutral) 2023-5-22 T-17: Will not prejudge June meeting outcome, still looking to be convinced inflation is in a steady decline, the Fed would have to think hard about the design of a CBDC if Congress did authorize it.
Bostic (Neutral) 2023-5-22 T-17: Comfortable waiting a little bit to see how the economy plays out, will take decisions one meeting at a time and let things play out.
Daly (Neutral) 2023-5-22 T-17: Prudent to refrain from commenting on Fed policy action, declined to say what the Fed should do at the June meeting, wants to see if policy tightening is affecting the economy, still a lot of data before June meeting, tighter credit conditions may be like 1-2 rate hikes, would be historical anomaly to get 2% inflation with sub-4% unemployment, seems reasonable to see unemployment to go above 4%.
Bullard (Hawk) 2023-5-22 T-17: The Fed will have to go higher this year by perhaps 50 bps, the September dot plot was based on slow growth and inflation improvements that have not occurred, core measures of inflation have not changed much in recent months, the Fed should err on the side of doing more, recession arguments are overstated, base case remains relatively slow growth for the rest of the year and into 2024.
Kashkari (Hawk) 2023-5-22 T-17: It's a close call whether to raise or pause in June, it may be that we have to go north of 6% but that isn't clear yet, not seeing evidence that banking stress is doing the Fed's job on inflation, services inflation seems "pretty darn entrenched", it is way too early to declare the all clear on banking problems.
Kashkari (Hawk) 2023-5-21 T-18: Open to the idea of moving a little bit more slowly on rate hikes, would object to any kind of declaration that we're done, if the committee chooses to skip a meeting to get more information that could make sense, a skip to get more information is very different than saying we're done.
Powell (Neutral) 2023-5-19 T-20: Has not made any decision on whether rates are sufficiently restrictive, the risks of doing too much or too little are becoming more balanced, we haven't made any decisions yet about the extent to which additional policy firming will be appropriate, inflation is far above the Fed's objective, we are strongly committed to returning to 2% goal, policy rate may not have to rise as far as otherwise due to tightening bank credit conditions, positive supply shocks during globalization probably did help keep inflation low but are unlikely to be repeated, the banking system is strong and resilient, our guidance today is limited to factors that go into policy decision.
Williams (Neutral) 2023-5-19 T-20: New work has shown even with pandemic the natural interest rate remains low, pandemic impact on the natural rate has proven modest.
Barr (Neutral) 2023-5-18 T-21: No inherent conflict between monetary policy and supervision by the Fed.
Collins (Neutral) 2023-5-18 T-21: Falling minority unemployment rates are promising for the economy.
Jefferson (Neutral) 2023-5-18 T-21: A year is not long enough to feel the full effect of interest rate hikes so far, inflation is too high, growth has slowed considerably but outlook is not for a recession, evidence so far points to only a modest incremental tightening of credit conditions to recent bank stress, uncertain how tighter credit will influence household and business spending.
Logan (Neutral) 2023-5-18 T-21: Data at this time does not support skipping a rate hike at the June meeting, incoming data could yet show that it is appropriate to skip a meeting, it is a long way from here to 2% inflation, concerned about whether inflation is falling fast enough, recognizes arguments against tightening policy too much or too fast, effect of banking stress is comparable to a 25-50 bps rate increase.
Bullard (Hawk) 2023-5-18 T-21: Leaning towards a June hike but keeping an open mind, higher rates are insurance against inflation, rates are at the low end of sufficiently restrictive with the top seen above 6%, better and more prudent to be in the middle of the zone, fall in treasury yields is offsetting banking sector tightening.
Barkin (Neutral) 2023-5-16 T-23: I like the optionality implied in the statement, comfortable with more hikes if this is what's needed, businesses are reluctant to let staff go, deposit flows are stable at the banks in my district, the number one lesson from the 1970s is don't quit too soon.
Barr (Neutral) 2023-5-16 T-23: We are carefully looking at commercial real estate risk.
Bostic (Neutral) 2023-5-16 T-23: Still some way to go until inflation is beaten, wages didn't fully catch up to inflation in 2022.
Goolsbee (Neutral) 2023-5-16 T-23: Has not decided anything for the June meeting, would be a mistake to commit to a rate move when more data is coming, not sure if we've put enough restraint on the economy yet, far too premature to be talking about rate cuts, starting to see some slowing in activity, there's still some potential for a soft landing, wages are not a leading indicator of inflation.
Logan (Neutral) 2023-5-16 T-23: Central banks should review post-GFC stress episodes, may need to travel more slowly when conditions are uncertain, gradual policy adjustments can be helpful in mitigating financial stability risks.
Williams (Neutral) 2023-5-16 T-23: Inflation is gradually moving in the right direction, it does take a while to feel the impact of policy, current banking situation is nothing like the 2008 banking crisis, the banking system is sound and resilient.
Mester (Hawk) 2023-5-16 T-23: I don't think we're at a hold rate yet, would like policy rate to get to a point where it could equally be a potential increase or decrease, I don't put it in terms of a pause but instead a hold, rate are not at a sufficiently restrictive level.
Barkin (Neutral) 2023-5-15 T-24: Not giving a June meeting decision because there is still data to come and because of the uncertainty around the debt ceiling, very comfortable with a data-dependent approach but not yet convinced that inflation is on a steady path lower, sees no barrier to higher rates if inflation persists, demand may need to cool even more for inflation to reach the 2% target, policymakers should be sensitive to financial stability risks but that should not take precedence over the fight against inflation.
Barr (Neutral) 2023-5-15 T-24: The US banking system remains sound and resilient, all deposits in the banking system are safe.
Bostic (Neutral) 2023-5-15 T-24: If I was voting now I would hold rates in June, we may have to go up further on rates, have to keep a possible rate hike on the table, rate cuts are not part of his baseline, appropriate policy is to wait and see the effects of tightening, does not see inflation coming down quickly, the math on inflation and the economy will work in the Fed's favour in the months ahead, there is still a long way to go in the battle against inflation, expects inflation to be in the high 3s at year-end, there is some risk of a recession but if we fall into one it will not be long or deep.
Goolsbee (Neutral) 2023-5-15 T-24: There is still a lot of impact from prior hikes that's still to come, his vote to hike at the last meeting was a "close call", inflation is improving but not that rapidly, the effect of banking stress isn't small and we need to take it into account.
Kashkari (Hawk) 2023-5-15 T-24: The Fed has more work to do, we should not be fooled by a few months of good data, inflation is much too high but starting to come down.
Jefferson (Neutral) 2023-5-14 T-25: Inflation is still high, little progress on core inflation is bad news, the full impact of the Fed's rapid rate hikes is likely stell ahead, disinflation has been slower and more uneven than the Fed would hive liked, the uncertainty around the effect of bank stress and credit shock could be larger than expected.
Bullard (Hawk) 2023-5-14 T-25: Market-based inflation expectations are back down to levels consistent with the 2% inflation target, policy is not at the low end of sufficiently restrictive.
Bowman (Neutral) 2023-5-12 T-27: Additional rate hikes are "likely appropriate" if inflation stays high and the labour market stays tight, policy rate will need to remain sufficiently restrictive for some time, uncertain if it is already sufficiently restrictive to bring inflation down, policy action is not on a pre-set course, recent data have not provided consistent evidence that inflation is on a downward path.
Goolsbee (Neutral) 2023-5-12 T-27: Inflation is too high but at least it's coming down, hopes inflation can ease without a recession.
Kashkari (Hawk) 2023-5-11 T-28: Tight monetary policy may be needed for "extended time", inflation has come down but is still above target, bank turmoil can be a source of slowing for the economy, it is conceivable that once we get inflation down to 2% we could have a conversation about changing the target, if markets are right and inflation will fall quickly one would imagine rates could normalize, if high inflation is more embedded then rates will need to stay higher for longer, I am now on the more hawkish end of Fed policy spectrum, we will be back in a low inflation and low rate environment once this period of high inflation ends.
Waller (Hawk) 2023-5-11 T-28: Climate change does not pose a serious risk to large banks or to US financial stability, it is not the Fed's job to be a climate policymaker, the issue is not whether climate poses risks from acute events like severe weather but if those are distinct from other possible shocks, transition to lower-carbon economy likely to be gradual and predictable and not pose risks to banks.
Barkin (Neutral) 2023-5-10 T-29: The Fed's message last week was "explicitly not a pause" on rates or "even necessarily a peak" but provides the optionality to do more if needed and the option to wait if waiting is appropriate.
Jefferson (Neutral) 2023-5-9 T-30: Inflation has come down and the economy has started to slow in an orderly fashion, banks have started to raise lending standards.
Williams (Neutral) 2023-5-9 T-30: The Fed hasn't said it's done raising rates, does not see any reason to cut rates this year, will raise rates if needed, the Fed needs to be data-dependent, tighter credit may blunt how far the Fed goes with rate hikes, does not see tighter credit knocking the economy totally off course, acute phase of bank stress is over, not seeing a wage-price spiral, confident that the Fed is on the right path to lower inflation to 2% target, core services ex housing inflation still shows persistent inflation.
Goolsbee (Neutral) 2023-5-8 T-31: Too early to make a call on rates for June meeting, getting vibes that a credit squeeze is beginning, must be data-dependent and watch credit conditions, weighing how much Fed work is being done by tighter credit, recession is a possibility.
Goolsbee (Neutral) 2023-5-5 T-34: Way too premature to expect a June rate hike, we know that credit conditions like the ones we are seeing now in the past have been correlated with recessions and credit crunches, bank situation has to give you some pause.
Bullard (Hawk) 2023-5-5 T-34: Quarter-point hike this week was a good step, this puts the Fed above 5% but there's a lot of inflation in the economy, ready to be data-dependent with an "open mind" on whether to pause or hike at the June meeting, policy is at the "low end" of restrictive zone and it's not clear enough for a downward path of inflation, should not have a recession as a base case, the base case is slow growth and declining inflation, labour market is very tight and will take time to cool, sense is that regional banks will do just fine, ultimate impact of bank stress on the economy will be small, we can achieve a soft landing.
Powell (Neutral) 2023-5-3 T-36: Prepared to do more if warranted, it is a meaningful change to no longer say we anticipate more firming of policy, real rates are around 2% so policy is tight, we're possibly at a sufficiently restrictive level or not far off, we think we need to stay at this rate for a while, no decision on pause was made today and we will decide on June in June, we will take a data dependent approach, the extent of effects of credit tightening remain uncertain, we won't have to raise rates quite as high due to banking stresses, future policy actions will depend on how events unfold, reducing inflation likely to require below-trend growth and some softening of jobs market, there are some signs that labour supply and demand are coming back into balance, nominal wage growth has shown some signs of easing, the US banking system is sound and resilient, committed to learning the right lessons from the banking rout.

2023.06.08 14:56 ExcuseResponsible483 Former Executive’s Thoughts on CEO Swap

TLDR: Changing CEOs is a big, big deal and investors should really want to know what just happened.
My background - former C-Suite executive, reporting to the CEO, leading one of the largest functions in a matrix-organized F100 company. If the mods asked - I could provide them with proof.
There’s a lot of speculation on Matt Furlong’s departure. I thought I would add some color to the discussion based on my experience.
1). Severance payments are often based on the departing CEO leaving on ā€˜good terms’. That means acknowledging that the severance is mutually acceptable, that there is no poaching of talent after their departure, that there is no working in competing fields and many other constraints. It also usually includes that the company will not disparage the departing CEO and damage their ability to get their next gig. The ā€˜friendly terms’ in the quarterly report are fully expected, regardless of the background.
2). The departure of a CEO for ANY reason is disruptive. There’s fifty or eighty people whose livelihoods depend on the relationships they have with the CEO. The CEO has to trust their C-Suite and vice-versa. There will be board members talking to the key 8-10 people right now, telling them that their jobs are secure, telling them to keep their focus on the business. But it’s human nature - a huge amount of their mental energy will be in navigating this change.
3). CEOs usually do not leave so soon after taking the reins. Average tenure of CEOs is up around 5 years. It takes a CEO a while to build up their team, their metrics, their strategies and their actions and follow through. It takes even longer for this to work down through the organization so everyone knows exactly what is expected from them to be aligned with the company strategies. At the very least we should interpret this change as odd. As in, uncommon. Whether it’s for good reasons or bad reasons that Matt left, his departure is premature and unusual.
4). CEO changes are usually telegraphed - often years in advance. This was not telegraphed. I would like to know why.
We don’t know why the change in CEO happened. Is Matt going to lead something else? Was there a difference of opinion? Was he brought in to be the ā€˜bad guy’ and make the cuts and now he’s done? Did he get a better job outside the company?
As an investor you should really, really want to know what the heck just happened. Ryan Cohen has maybe 3% of his net worth invested in GME. I would welcome seeing him make further big investments to demonstrate his commitment. Many apes have way more than that as a % of their net worth invested.
Most of all though - I would like clarity on this departure.

2023.06.08 14:56 wildflowersand Actually good MC romance books?

Hi! I’m currently reading the Hades Hangmen series by Tillie Cole and I’m loving it! I’ve also watched Sons of Anarchy so I’m on a full MC kick. Other books I’ve looked at don’t really float my boat, like huge age differences, daughter getting with father’s friend and such, so I’m struggling what to read after this series as I’m on book 7! They don’t need to be as dark as a lot of the TC books are, but I do find the different group aspects the books good, like the cult, etc. Could anyone help or direct me to a similar thread?
Side note: I also enjoyed the whole cult, clashing groups with the drug cartels etc. (reminds me of the TV show Banshee), so even if there isn’t an MC romance are there any other romance books with a similar vibe?
Thank you!!

2023.06.08 14:55 cricket9818 Player by Player 2022-23 Season and Postseason Review: Isaiah Hartenstein

Hello fellow Knicks fans. Last year I had a lot of fun writing up reviews for each player, and I decided I’ll make it a yearly thing. Format will be a little different to keep it fresh but same goals; evaluate players based on how they looked, their numbers, advanced stats, team stats, and an eye to next year. I will go player by player until I cover all major players on the Knicks roster. Enjoy! If you wanna check out Josh Hart and previous write ups give a click here
Player Profile: Isaiah Hartenstein
Age: 24
Contract Remaining: 1 year at $8.2 million.
2022-23 Season 82 GP, 8GS, 19.8MPG
5PTS, 6.5REB, 1.2AST, .6STL, .8BLK, .8TOV per game.
53%/21%/67% Shooting splits
I love Thibs as a coach, but many of us agree that one of few strikes against him is that he runs a bit of an unimaginative offense. There’s some motion and action, but a lot of it is ISO heavy and heavily dependent on the primary ball handlers making decisions on the whim and reacting to the defense. I feel like this concept hurts no player on the team as much as Isaiah Hartenstein. So first off, Hart (I’m calling him that for the remainder of the article, Hartenstein is just that much more annoying to type) is a heck of a well rounded player. If you look at his minutes from last year in LA, he had a 8/5/3 line with a steal and a block with a shooting split of 62%/46%/69%(nice) all in 18mpg, less than what he played this year! He can pass, he can board, he can defend and can even get in rhythm and score well near the rim and even on the perimeter. Unfortunately in Thibs' offense Hart had a much more conservative role as mostly a screener and a board crasher. Now, make no mistakes, he did those things well, averaging 2.5 offensive rebounds a game in just 20min. However, I felt Hart was severely underutilized all year, and I think because of that he had trouble adjusting in the beginning of the year, when he had some ups and downs in the first 20 games and everyone was calling for his head. As the year went on though Hart adjusted and eventually settled into his role nicely. I still think Thibs can utilize him way more. I know it's not a 1 for 1 comparison, but I look at the work Joakim Noah did (and no I’m not saying Hartenstein is as skilled as Noah) when he played under Thibs and I’m surprised Thibs didn’t try to take advantage of Hart’s passing skills more often. Who knows, maybe we will see more of that next year. My personal caterwauling aside, Hartenstein is a great fit on the team and I wouldn’t be surprised to see them try to throw an extension his way at some point as he compliments Mitch very nicely and is affordable insurance against an injury to him.
Advanced Stats: VORP: 0.7 WS/48: .136 PER: 14.2 TS%: 56
Now by league standards, Hartenstein had a pretty average year. His PER comes in near league average (15) and his VORP sits almost at 1, indicating he’s a step above a replacement level player. But looking at his advanced stats from last year show how big of a step back he took from last year. Last year he had a PER of 22 which is phenomenal and a VORP of 2(!). To put that in perspective, he played 400 more minutes this year than last year but last year put up double the level of value. Again, Hart had a solid year for us, but I feel he was severely underutilized.
Hartenstein ranked around 35th out of ~400 players that played in at least 50 games at 15mpg in defensive rating. This puts him as one of the more highly rated defensive big men in the league. Pretty impressive. He didn’t always put up the counting stats but his effort was apparent.
Hartenstein pops up in 6 of the Knicks top 10 defensive rated lineups. Conversely, he also appears in 6 of the bottom 10 defensive rated lineups. However Hart is also in 6 of our top 10 net rated lineups and 6 out of 10 worst net rated lineups. Shockingly he’s in 6 of our top and bottom 10 offensive lineups as well. All this makes sense as Hart graded out as a slightly above replacement level player. So he was there when things went good, but also there when things were not.
2023 Playoffs: 3.1PTS, 4.6REB, 1.3AST, .8STL, 1.4BLK, .5TOV per game
48%/N/A/75% from the field
0.2 VORP WS/48 .171 PER 13.5
Hartenstein brought his shovel and pal for the playoffs, and gave the Knicks some tough minutes at center. While his counting stats may leave a little to be desired, his advanced stats show that he played well during his 20 mpg on the court. However, as previously stated, his lack of offensive versatility (which is consistent among many players on the roster) created the redundancy that made the Knicks offense a little stagnant and not as successful as it could be in the playoffs. It's another moment where I feel like Thibs underutilized him as he does have (albeit an inconsistent) outside shot, and they could try to use Hart to clear the paint for drives and kicks. Also worth noting that it was more or less Hart’s first postseason appearance, so the jitters are being worked through.
2023 Off season
Despite being in the league 5 years already, Hartenstein is only 24 years old, so he does have more room to grow. Hartenstein has a good offensive game around the rim, can finish and has a little baby hook/push shot that he uses effectively. He can shoot from the outside, career 31% shooter from 3 but on very small volume. Even if Hart could push that to 33% he could really provide another layer to his game. He’s a solid defender but can definitely be better against big bangers in the post. Hart is a capable pass and also rebounds very well already. Again, I feel Hart can showcase more than what he did last year if given more chances from Thibs.
Overall Grade for 2022-23 season: B
Hartenstein had a bumpy introduction to the Knicks. However, he leveled off quickly and showed the workman’s mentality that NYK fans love. He plays hard and (mostly) plays smart. I think he can take some more steps forward in his offensive game and low post defense. I also believe Thibs can entrust him with more high post and passing action, but that is to be seen. He’s a solid role player I wouldn’t mind seeing around here for a while.

2023.06.08 14:55 outerlimtz Weird Issue, scratching my head

Have a manager at a location who can't get to a particular site if he's on the company network, regardless of subnets. Yet everyone else at his location as well as in our corporate offices have no issues getting to the site.
The site is a logistics platform for tracking trailers and drivers. It works if he goes on a hot spot or off network. We use the Zscaler proxy client as well as Intune to manage our policies. Oddly though, during testing the other a day, a 403 popped up on his machine, which wasn't from our zscaler client, stating that the site was blocked due to porn and business economy. It suddenly disappeared and went back to page can't be found. Here's a list of things i've done on the machine. Even with all the years in this business, i know i'm missing something. I just can't find the string for the light bulb.

On the last attempt to browse to the site in chrome, while running Wireshark, this came up.
https://i.imgur.com/AJUnVuP.png
This isn’t a Zscaler warning, as it’s still off and it doesn’t have the typical Zscaler markings. This is also why I ran SuperAntiSpyware.
Oddly, it's just this one device. Security analysis thinks the site is block just his device. The site is new to us, as it's a merger between two companies. And the SaaS they provide is better than the previous one. If by some chance the site is blocking this one machine, it would have to be mac based. Granted we can gt to the site by taking it off the company network, but if they were blocking by IP, i would have to assume that no one else either at the managers location or corporate office would be able to get to the site. For now, he said he will put the machine on his hot spot when he needs access. He may have to access it once a week, however it may be more as time goes on. Don't want to wipe the machine because of 1 website not working. Idea's?

2023.06.08 14:52 DoctorSuperZero Hyperstitious - 10 - Cheerful Nihilism & Inescapable Mind Reading Surveillance

Xan is the world's most dangerous criminal mastermind. He’s also in hiding and completely broke. That’s fine. He’s between master plans. It’s normal to be at rock bottom between master plans. He also forgets stuff and may be trapped in a dream.
Because at night, Xan thinks he’s an old lady, trapped in a dingy apartment, by an angry fellow who wants to kill her. Not her idea of a good time, but she’s keeping an open mind. It is excitingly visceral. Could turn out awesome.
Hyperstitious is a sci-fi, progression, comedy. Guaranteed to cause more mental problems than it solves.

ā€œWhat the fuck am I supposed to be doing?ā€
Pizza girl takes a long drag from our joint. ā€œThat’s the question, isn’t it? Evolution’s murderous hand has molded us into anticipation machines. Our brains a madness of compulsive predictions. Because fortune favors those who connect cause with effect, and Darwin’s game eats the losers.
ā€œSo we obsess. Watch others. Copy their success. Make plans. Make rules. Make art, for what could be. And build a world in our minds, that mirrors the outside, but a vital step ahead. And when it’s wrong it’s disaster, and shame, and ruin. But when it’s right it’s money, and respect, and fucking. Yes sir.
ā€œBut the sharper we hone our future sense, the more it cuts to nothing. The farther we see, the less there is. The abyss at the center of everything. Death. Death. Death. Tortured by Cassandra, we circle back to our first question. In the face of the inevitable - What am I supposed to be doing?
ā€œWoe to the existentialist. Your self made destiny be the harshest mistress of all. You can’t give yourself what doesn’t exist. Abandon all meaning. There is nothing. Nothing. Nothing. Ignoring that only brings it faster.
ā€Accept what is. You’re a random conglomeration of biases struggling to guess a future that cannot exist. There’s nothing you’re supposed to be doing.ā€
I frown. ā€œI mean, what to do about Harkon? I want to do crime and he’s crimping my style.ā€
ā€œOh.ā€ Pizza girl shrugs. ā€œI don’t have an answer for that. I’m more of a question girl.ā€
I flop down on the bed. Temporarily defeated. ā€œI’m also losing at my dream game.ā€
ā€œIs that important? Should you be trying to win it? Or experience it?ā€
ā€œI’m trying to experience winning it.ā€ I grumble. ā€œShouldn’t be so fucking hard to stay alive.ā€
We smoke and talk about my problems. She’s a good listener, even if her advice is zoomed out. I explain my troubles with survival. She questions if survival is even the point of the game. Maybe it’s about discovery. Maybe I’m supposed to learn something and survival is irrelevant.
ā€œThere’s no problems in a dream game except the ones we create for emotional reasons. Why do you want to struggle?ā€
ā€œShit. I don’t know.ā€
ā€œFigure that out. Though existence is utterly devoid of meaning, asking why you want stuff can offer surprising direction.ā€
We finish getting wasted, then break to get back to work. Volt and I are left to obsess over Harkon.
ā€œWe need weaponry that can see him, a way to avoid him, and a way to find him.ā€
ā€œCool.ā€ says Volt. ā€œThere’s a spider on your neck.ā€
I freeze. Slowly shift my eyes to the left. Oh fuck. There’s a hand-sized robo-spider perched on my shoulder. Its razor sharp fangs drip a menacing ooze as they drift closer to important arteries.
I can’t imagine a worse situation, until I look back at Volt. She’s nervously pointing my hand cannon at my neck. ā€œHold still.ā€ Both her eyes are closed.
Nope! I flip out. Flail, shake, dive, and roll. Gunshots ring through the secret apartment. I end up behind the bed, with the robo-spider crouched on the other side.
ā€œDid I get it?ā€ asks Volt.
ā€œNo! Why were you shooting with your eyes closed?!ā€
ā€œI was concentrating!ā€
ā€œSlide me the gun!ā€
ā€œAhem.ā€ says the spider. ā€œThat won’t be necessary.ā€
I recognise that cultured twang. Like a tractor salesman. ā€œLiam? That your drone? How’d you find my apartment?ā€
ā€œI followed you.ā€
ā€œWith a drone? Dammit. Gotta get a trashbag.ā€
ā€œI don’t know what that means. But I didn’t follow you with a drone, more like you stumbled past millions of my drones.ā€
I cock my head. ā€œI don’t think so. Pretty sure I’d have noticed millions of drones.ā€
ā€œAh, but they’re very small. Like a piece of dust. A silicon flake sandwich with a vacuum filling. Etched with metasurfaces by ultraviolet light. A wee camera on one side. A tiny solar cell on the other. Inside there’s a little antenna and just a splash of brains. Individually, they’re a low level eye drone, but together they’re an all seeing eye. A panopticon.ā€
I call bullshit. ā€œNo way, man. You’d have no way to control them. They’d just float around randomly. Their field of vision would be a Picasso fractal of leaving town on the prevailing wind. Good luck training a d-bot to stitch that together.ā€
ā€œHa!ā€ Liam is amused. ā€œYou’re a panic, Xan. And correct. They do blow away, but they’re made of dirt, light, and nothing. I can make more. And the visuals may be a cubist nightmare, but I’m not making a tourism commercial. I don’t care what people look like. I care what they do. I’m making a heatmap of intent.ā€
ā€œI don’t see how that’s any easier… Fuck. You’re using my threat detector.ā€ I clutch my brow. Now I’m involved in this. Perfect.
ā€œYes.ā€ says Liam. ā€œThe Panopticon can’t give a detailed view of what people are doing. Its overlapping field of view makes human scale motions too chaotic for a d-bot to stitch together. But it excels at catching the microexpressions to reveal a person’s personality, emotions, interests, and mental problems.
ā€œSo I can’t see that Jimmy-Bob is buying breakfast, but I can know that a 30 year old, white, male, bi-sexual, sociopath, crypto-bro affiliate, is hungry and moving with intent to satisfy that urge. It’s more abstract, but also more useful. Because with an eyedrone, I wouldn’t know he was getting breakfast until he got to the diner. But with the panopticon, I know he’s getting breakfast before he leaves his house. Which gives me time to plan a little surprise for him.ā€
I think. ā€œBut you still don’t know who he is.ā€
ā€œIf I know what he’s going to do, I don’t care who he is. I was trying to make a magic mirror, and ended up with a crystal ball. Your threat detector has exceeded all expectations - with a little modification. But I still can’t find the man who threatens me most.ā€
ā€œHarkon?ā€
ā€œWho? The vigilante? Fuck that guy, I don’t care about him. I can’t find Big Cheddar.ā€
I slowly sit down next to the spider-bot, my brain overheating. While I was struggling against a single do-gooder, Liam has been using my invention to hunt down the most powerful person in Bright City. I have set my expectations far too low. It’s possible I spend too much time screwing around and playing games.
Liam keeps talking - either oblivious or uncaring of my small breakdown. ā€œSo yeah, I need some tech support here. Why isn’t Big Cheddar showing up on my threat detector?ā€
I respond absentmindedly. ā€œMaybe he isn't a threat to you.ā€
ā€œHe wants to cram the entire population into sleep-pods to extract wealth from them. I’d say that’s a threat.ā€
I shrug. ā€œIt’s pretty abstract. If we classify seeking-economic-advantage as a threat, the whole city’s gonna light up.ā€
ā€œSurely there’s a distinction here. A difference between trying to make a bit of money, and trying for absolute control over millions of people.ā€
I take a deep breath. Sigh. ā€œWhat do you want, Liam?ā€
ā€œFix your threat detector so I can find Big Cheddar.ā€
ā€œI don’t work for free.ā€
The spider-bots poisoned mandibles twitch, then still. ā€œFine. Another bag of crypto?ā€
ā€œNo.ā€ If Liam’s using my invention to further his ambitions, I’m gonna use his for mine. ā€œI need a few people found too.ā€

2023.06.08 14:52 Humble_Novice Religious Zealot Pat Robertson Is Dead

Article: Here
VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (AP) — Pat Robertson, a religious broadcaster who turned a tiny Virginia station into the global Christian Broadcasting Network, tried a run for president and helped make religion central to Republican Party politics in America through his Christian Coalition, has died. He was 93.
Robertson's death Thursday was announced by his broadcasting network. No cause was given.
For more than a half-century, Robertson was a familiar presence in American living rooms, known for his ā€œ700 Clubā€ television show, and in later years, his televised pronouncements of God’s judgment, blaming natural disasters on everything from homosexuality to the teaching of evolution.
The money poured in as he solicited donations, his influence soared, and he brought a huge following with him when he moved directly into politics by seeking the GOP presidential nomination in 1988.
He received a law degree from Yale University Law School, but failed the bar exam and chose not to pursue a law career.
At times, his on-air pronouncements drew criticism.
He claimed that the terrorist attacks that killed thousands of Americans on Sept. 11, 2001 were caused by God, angered by the federal courts, pornography, abortion rights and church-state separation. Talking again about 9-11 on his TV show a year later, Robertson described Islam as a violent religion that wants to ā€œdominateā€ and ā€œdestroy,ā€ prompting President George W. Bush to distance himself and say Islam is a peaceful and respectful religion.
He called for the assassination of Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez in 2005. Later that year, he warned residents of a rural Pennsylvania town not to be surprised if disaster struck them because they voted out school board members who favored teaching ā€œintelligent designā€ over evolution. And in 1998, he said Orlando, Florida, should beware of hurricanes after allowing the annual Gay Days event.
In 2014, he angered Kenyans when he warned that towels in Kenya could transmit AIDS. CBN issued a correction, saying Robertson ā€œmisspoke about the possibility of getting AIDS through towels.ā€

The Insurtech Revolution: How Technology Is Changing The Way Americans Buy Insurance

https://preview.redd.it/zae2d8ydjs4b1.jpg?width=1200&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=852c5b1326dfe45379b29b36905d20be5133c2d6
Insurtech revolution in the US has been phenomenal over the past few years and the technology has been able to meet the evolving customer requirements. The insurance market across the globe is huge, with the US insurance space being one of the largest as far as premium contribution is concerned. The intersection of insurance and technology has helped in simplifying claims processing, lead conversions, and much more and has overhauled traditional processes as well as legacy systems. It is noteworthy to mention that the COVID-19 pandemic has also contributed to the growth of the insurance tech space, emphasizing the significance of innovative solutions that emerged relatively late in the sector.
As of 2021, the U.S. insurance industry was valued at USD1.4 Tn (in written net premiums), with life and annuity insurers accounting for 52%, while property and casualty accounted for the remaining 48%. Case in point, the global insurtech market size was valued at USD5.45 Bn in 2022 and is estimated to expand at a CAGR of 52.7% from the year 2023 to 2030. The increasing number of insurtech companies in the USA is noteworthy, primarily due to the rising volume of insurance claims and streamlined solutions offered by this new category of companies.

Importance of insurtech in the modern insurance space

Insurtech enables large organizations to explore new options beyond traditional human efforts. Insurtech includes tracking tools like phone applications, auto-monitoring devices, and wearable technology. Customers can enjoy quick accessible mobile options that summarize coverage, liabilities, and premium information. Insurtech has also been aiding companies to become more efficient in underwriting, processing claims, and managing assets. Insurtech capital investment focuses on big data, artificial intelligence, and IoT devices.

Key insurtech benefits:

For customers

Empowering the customer : Insurtech empowers customers, enabling them to prioritize and value every aspect of their lives. It ensures that customers are a part of the process starting from registration to claims.
Convenience and ease of access: Insurtech is mobile-friendly, and this is the reason why customers get the liberty to compare, verify and make informed decisions. They can even check the status of claims from a personal device.
Increased security and customization: With insurtech, organizations set strict anti-spamming and security policies to safeguard the confidentiality of customer details when they transact online. It also enables the insurance company to collect and analyze customer data, thereby enabling upgraded offerings and customized products.

For insurance providers

It has plenty of advantages for the insurance sector as well, which helps insurance players save a lot of money and time. Some of the areas where it helps include customer identity verification and anti-money laundering, underwriting by automation of information collection and assimilation into the record, promotion of innovative new products along with smart contracts, reducing errors, enforcing contracts, etc.
Insurtech can simplify various processes, such as KYC, managing claims, fraud detection and risk prevention, payment processing, etc.

Digital transformation in the US insurance market

Just like every other industry, the insurance industry has also welcomed technology with open arms. The insurance space in america, just like the banking industry, is often referred to as an out-of-date complicated, and not customer-oriented field. 2021 was said to be the most revolutionary period for insurtechs as all the above-mentioned problems gave rise to the insurtech development in the United States.
Technology is a blessing in this industry, the pain point of which is over-complication. This is where insurance tech companies can come to the rescue and provide the most feasible solutions. Moreover, the US insurance market has been regulated since the beginning. One of the earliest signs of evolution in the insurance space was the use of scanners and complex algorithms for accurate pricing of insurance premiums.

What is digital transformation, anyway?

In conclusion, digital transformation encompasses leveraging technology, including artificial intelligence, big data, the Internet of Things, and robotics, to develop innovative solutions and enhance existing ones.
Insurtechs are transforming the digital industry in more ways than one.
  • Underwriting: Insurtechs are using AI and ML to automate the underwriting process which includes evaluating an insurance applicant’s risk and determining the premium for their respective policy. Artificial Intelligence can dig deeper through large chunks of data such as demographics, and medical history, which in turn helps them determine their risk profile. By embracing digital transformation, organizations can unlock benefits such as improved premiums and elevated customer experiences.
  • Claims: Insurtechs are also using technology for automating claims processing procedure that includes reviewing and verifying insurance claims as well as paying out benefits to policyholders. For instance, AI and ML can be used to identify and prevent fraud and improve transparency. Various insurance claim techs are also tying up with hospitals and insurance companies to ensure optimization of the claims experience for end users by providing seamless and streamlined options.
  • Policy management: Insurtech organizations are using these technologies to automate policy management, which again includes managing insurance policies for customers. It can entail the usage of AI and ML to respond to customer queries and solve problems that would help customers manage their insurance policies online.
  • Distribution: Insurtechs also use this technology to simplify insurance purchase online. For instance, the usage of comparison sites enables customers to compare quotes from different vendors as well as pure play digital insurers that sell policies directly.
  • Product innovation: Insurtech companies are using data from various sources for several new offerings, such as discounted premiums of health insurance policies, etc. Data and analytics provide insights to insurance companies so that they can better understand and price risks, thus translating to better premiums and enriched customer experience. It also enables new business models and insurance products that might not have been flexible without technology.

Current market trends in the insurtech space

  • Personalization: The biggest trend in the insurtech space right now is personalization. Data is being used from different sources such as wearables and IoT devices so that personalized products can be provided to customers with unique needs. For instance, insurance organizations can use data from wearables to create health insurance products.
  • Automation: Another dominant trend at this time in the industry is automation. Insurtech companies are using artificial intelligence for the automation of different insurance processes like underwriting and claims processing. With the help of automation, insurance players can reduce expenses, improve efficiency and enhance customer experience.
  • Blockchain: Just like every other sphere, blockchain is also making an impact in the insurtech space. Insurance companies can use blockchain to form smart contracts, which execute when certain conditions are met. Blockchain can also decrease the chances of fraud by creating a tamper-proof record of insurance transactions.
  • Usage-based insurance: Another trend in the insurtech space is usage-based insurance. This insurance enables customers to pay premiums based on their actual usage of a product or service. Usage-based insurance can allow insurers to price policies as well as offer customers feasible and affordable insurance options.
  • ā€œAvalancheā€ of data from different connected devices: By the year 2025, it is projected that there will be approximately one trillion connected devices, resulting in significant data collection that will enable insurance carriers to gain profound insights into their clients, according to McKinsey. The huge explosion of data is expected to result in ā€œnew product categories, more personalized pricing, and increasingly real-time service delivery.ā€
  • Insurtech partnerships: Insurtech companies are currently forming collaborations with traditional insurers to create new products and services. While traditional insurance companies offer industry knowledge and regulatory compliance while insurtech organizations bring innovation and technology expertise.
Insurtech is an exciting and rapidly evolving sector that has so much to offer. The use of cutting-edge technologies is helping insurers to create new products and enhance customer experience. This is likely to help shape the future of the industry. It is needless to say that the pandemic has fueled the growth of the insurtech space.
Insurtech has been attracting a lot of funding from investors recently. Innovation in insurance is booming with the help of this new range of companies that leverage technology at every step. Insurtechs raised USD14.4 Bn across 644 deals in 2021, beating the 2020 number by around 87%. Even though the industry has seen comparatively lesser funding last year, we are hopeful that the same will bounce back on the back of digitalization. As per a CB Insights report, insurtech funding dropped by 4% quarter over quarter in the third quarter of 2022 to hit USD 2.3 Bn, which is the lowest since the second quarter of 2020.
Some notable transactions that happened in this genre last year include Berlin-based insurtech company Wefox closing its Series D funding round at USD 400 Mn, thereby bringing its valuation to USD 4.5 Bn
In another deal, a tech-enabled provider of workers’ compensation insurance to small businesses, Pie Insurance raised USD 315 Mn in Series D funding. Coalition, a cyber insurance provider, got funding worth USD 250 Mn in Series F funding thus hitting a valuation of USD 5 Mn. Both established companies and startups in the space are well-poised for growth fueled by investments and increasing market demand.

Some startups slowly changing the entire insurtech landscape, such as Slice Labs, Bright Light, Clover Health, Oscar Health, Gusto, Go Health, Root Insurance, and Collective Health, also deserve a mention. These companies are constantly challenging themselves and coming up with unique solutions that are in line with the ever-evolving market.

Challenges in the insurtech market

Despite having so many benefits, the insurtech market has to endure multiple constraints. The challenges include a shortage of professionals skilled in advanced technologies and a lack of awareness about insurtech, among others. However, it is believed that traditional insurance will be replaced by technology-driven insurance in the form of low code technology, embedded ecosystems, AI and ML, etc. 85% of insurance organizations understand the requirement to prioritize digitalization. Let’s have a look at this on a deeper level.
Regulatory hurdles: With regulations getting introduced or current regulations being updated, insurtechs need to navigate compliance requirements constantly if they want to thrive.
Intense competition: High competition in the market consists of both traditional firms and insurtech companies. To stay ahead, insurtechs need to upgrade their solutions. They also need to work closely with traditional insurers as they look for partnerships or getting acquired by the firms.
Data privacy and security: Ensuring the security and privacy of customer data will remain a priority for insurtechs to eradicate negative consequences for companies as well as customers.
Difficulty in customer adoption: Insurtechs need to gain customer trust and even convince them to adopt the services.

What the future holds

Nevertheless, the future appears promising for insurtech players as the world gradually embraces digitalization. More and more people will start looking for more streamlined and easy-to-avail insurance products. Insurtechs will rely on technology to provide more personalized insurance products shaped by data. By focusing more on technologies, insurtech players can enhance their respective portfolios. Traditional insurance companies will enter partnerships with Insurtechs to stay relevant in this huge market. Insurtech players will make a change in the market that will help them thrive led by research, empathic and intuitive design of user-centric interfaces. We hope to see more collaborations and tech-driven initiatives by startups in the near future.

2023.06.08 14:49 Rebel-Renegade Daily Reflections - Thursday - 6/8/23

OPENING UP TO CHANGE
June 08
Self-searching is the means by which we bring new vision, action, and grace to bear upon the dark and negative side of our natures. With it comes the development of that kind of humility that makes it possible for us to receive God's help. . . . we find that bit by bit we can discard the old life — the one that did not work — for a new life that can and does work under any conditions whatever.
AS BILL SEES IT, pp. 10, 8
I have been given a daily reprieve contingent upon my spiritual condition, provided I seek progress, not perfection. To become ready for change, I practice willingness, opening myself to possibilities of change. If I realize there are defects that hinder my usefulness in A.A. and toward others, I become ready by meditating and receiving direction. "Some of us have tried to hold on to our old ideas and the result was nil until we let go absolutely" ( Alcoholics Anonymous, p. 58). To let go and let God, I need only surrender my old ways to Him; I no longer fight nor do I try to control, but simply believe that, with God's help, I am changed and affirming this belief makes me ready. I empty myself to be full of awareness, light, and love, and I am ready to face each day with hope.

2023.06.08 14:48 Freemind62 HP thermal printer

Managed to get a HP82240B IR thermal printer. It’s a neat portable printer that’s comparable with a range of HP calcs from the mid 80s onward.
What’s good is that because it’s infrared you don’t need to bother with cables or connectors.
I’m feeling lucky that I could get one for a good price that included the box, and manual. Though it really couldn’t be easier to use :)
Next in line is getting some more thermal rolls and an AC adapter.

2023.06.08 14:48 More_Breakfast2084 how to watch The Champions League final from anywhere

Hey fellow football fans! Missing the highly anticipated Champions League Final while on vacation or away from home can be disappointing, especially if you encounter blackout restrictions that prevent you from accessing your home country's streaming platform. However, there are solutions to ensure you don't miss out on the thrilling action. By following the steps outlined in this guide, you can bypass blackout restrictions and still enjoy the final from wherever you are. Whether you're lounging on a beach or exploring a new city, our step-by-step instructions will help you access authorized streaming platforms and ensure uninterrupted viewing of the Champions League Final, making your vacation even more memorable.
But luckily i made a guide how to watch The Champions League final from anywhere:
  1. Start by selecting authorized broadcasters who hold the rights to stream the Champions League Final in the VPN region you have chosen. You can check the broadcasters below:
  1. Subscribe to a VPN Service: Purchase a reputable VPN (Virtual Private Network) service that offers servers in locations outside the blackout area. This will allow you to mask your IP address and appear as if you are accessing the stream from a different region. I have attached 3 providers at the end of this guide.
  2. Install VPN Software: Install the VPN software provided by your chosen VPN service onto your preferred device. Ensure compatibility with your operating system.
  3. Connect to a Server Outside the Blackout Area: Open the VPN software and connect to a server located outside the blackout area. Choose a server that is reliable and offers optimal connection speeds. I recommend either using DAZN with Japan as a location or Germany (fast connection)
5.Access Authorized Streaming Platforms: With your VPN active and connected to a server outside the blackout area, visit the official streaming platforms that have the rights to broadcast the Champions League Final. These platforms may include UEFA.tv or other authorized broadcasters specific to your region.
  1. Create an Account or Log In: If required, create an account on the authorized streaming platform or log in using your existing credentials.
  2. Start Streaming: Once logged in, navigate to the live stream of the Champions League Final. Check the platform's user interface for any specific instructions on accessing the stream.
  3. Enjoy the Champions League Final: Sit back, relax, and immerse yourself in the excitement of the Champions League Final. Ensure that your VPN connection remains active throughout the duration of the match to prevent any potential blackout restrictions.
NordVPN:
This VPN provider is known for its fast server speeds and strong security features. It has over 3,000 servers in 94 countries and offers unlimited bandwidth and data. NordVPN also has a no-logs policy and uses AES-256 encryption to protect your data.
Pros: Fast server speeds, strong security features, and easy-to-use interface.
Cons: The pricing may be higher compared to other VPNs.
Surfshark:
This VPN service provider offers great value for money, with an extensive server network and a user-friendly interface. It has over 3,200 servers in 65 countries and allows unlimited simultaneous connections. Surfshark is also known for its strong security features, including AES-256 encryption, a kill switch, and a no-logs policy.
Pros: Unlimited simultaneous connections, affordable pricing, and strong security features.
Cons: The server speeds may be slower compared to other VPNs.
CyberGhost:
This VPN provider is known for its user-friendly interface and is ideal for beginners. It has over 7,300 servers in 90 countries and offers fast connection speeds. CyberGhost also has strong security features, including AES-256 encryption and a no-logs policy.
Pros: Fast connection speeds, user-friendly interface, and strong security features.
Cons: The pricing may be slightly more expensive compared to other VPNs.
In conclusion, utilizing a VPN is the most effective method to watch the Champions League and overcome any blackout restrictions. With the step-by-step guide presented earlier and the suggested VPN services, you can enjoy all the thrilling matches of the Champions League without encountering any limitations or disruptions.

2023.06.08 14:47 Yetiandme How do you find the mood for sex with a husband who was emotionally and verbally abusive to you …..

This is probably a question mostly directed to women who went through this. Long story short, after having a baby (10 years into our relationship) and becoming a stay at home mom, my husband became incredibly verbally and emotionally abusive (I say incredibly bc he never acted this way before). I reacted to most of it, by talking back, standing up for myself etc… Then I caught him talking to a girl he met on an international flight - he didn’t deny it and said he wants a divorce in order to persue someone else. The girl ended up telling him she is not interested (I saw the messages) and he kinda came around. NEVER apologized and never felt guilty or remorse bc he said our lack off sex life and my inability to compliment him and make him feel appreciated lead to this .
I know I should leave so please leave that out of comments - I can’t right now for a multitude of different reasons.
I don’t hold tremendous grudge against him for all this, but enough to find it uncomfortable to be intimate. I feel like if he at least felt bad and apologized I would connect better - but he did nothing wrong in his view and blames all on me. It also does not help he is exclusively mean to me and verrrryyyyy friendly and nice to absolutely everyone (exhibits a lottttt of narcissistic traits). He thinks he deserves all the affection and love bc he pays the bills and that alone entitles him. When I bring up that he needs to be nicer to me in order to connect better, he responds with: ā€then you should find someone else who suits your standardsā€. I just can’t get through to him. He has also mentioned before how cheating in such situations is totally acceptable 😳
Any advice, if you went through this how did you do it. Sex will have to be a thing if there is even the slightest chance for this to work, even if it s for short term.
Thanks in advance.

2023.06.08 14:47 jappy87 Urgent Care PA - being pressured to practice questionable medicine

Reaching out to the community for some of your thoughts. Currently working at an Urgent Care in the northeast. Recently we are now being asked to sign off on patients for pre-employment physicals. Several days ago I had a patient come to me for this very reason - on the form questions were directed at patients substance abuse history, mental health, etc. and there capacity to care for children (applying to be nanny). I meet these patients for 15 minutes. If the patient isn't within our system I have no idea about there history, our state backed network which collects healthcare data is questionable at best... so basically all I have to go on is the patients word. Managements argument is that these patients have no health insurance due to no job, therefore no primary care, therefore I have to sign off for the cycle to break. None of this sits right with me, how can I confidently say after meeting someone for 15 minutes, combined with the data available to me, that they would be a safe caretaker for children. I try not to practice defensive medicine but this feels unsafe. As of now I am standing my ground but wanted to network these thoughts... thanks for feedback everyone =)

2023.06.08 14:46 Pika-thulu my gf behavior

My gf and I have been going through it for a while now. Mainly cuz she has been skipping 2-3 days of work consistently for 4-5 months now. No one agreed to this. But she doesn't seem to care. Her excuse is because she has appointments (one a day), mental health issues, or is 'sick'. I know shes not sick because she claims she was throwing up a bunch but then comes home and eats a bunch of fast food and watches tv and is suddenly fine.
It's causing financial issues of course. We agreed that we were going to start planning for kids with our bf. I am to get pregnant first as I am older. We need to pay off loans and credit cards. She has substantial debt. And her not working is halting that goal severely. She cant pay bills on time and always needs to borrow money. My bf is really irritated with this too. We have fights about it.
We are in couples counseling. Its going well. We like. There are plenty of other reasons we are in there I won't get into. In our own time we have figured out a way to get her to go to work more. I knew the issue was that she didn't want to go to the office (she takes off the 2 -3 days shes supposed to be in the office). It's literally a 4 minute drive from the house. Her issue was dhe couldn't drive on anxiety meds.eye roll ok ill pick you up if you need to take them.. she agreed! Awesome. Okay, problem solved. Lets see if it comes to fruition. Its been a week.
Now her gma died. I feel bad for her of course. She took the last two days off. That is cool. I get it. She is supposed to go in today. I am up super early and we have a network outage. So I have to go to the office. And she will get to stay home. Im sure she will be thrilled. She wins again. Also she said she is going out of state for the funeral. Thats fine. Can you afford it? Well I just wont be able to catch up on bills... WOW!

2023.06.08 14:45 Clockwork-isntaclock Statement demo #3 - An unnamed statement

Statement of Robert Sews regarding unknown meat packages. Statement taken directly from subjet 23th may 2017.
I can recall it staring all the way back in 2011, somewhere in September. Not so sure about the exact day but it might've been somewhere trought the end of it. The cold was starting to set in at this time in Canada, so did the Halloween spirit. I was preparing in order to go help my friend set the decorations on. I know, it's early but she's always been the kind to celebrate every holiday a month before. I was just near the front door, picking up my coat for the visit when I've heard a quiet, gentle knocking from behind. Barely audible, as quiet as a small sight. I hadn't planned anyone to come neither was I waiting for a delivery, I can just remember too well this fact. I opened the door only to find a single cardboard box sitting there. No delivery man like it is usually the case for packages too big for the complex's mailbox, as I lived in an apartment. It simply sat there, alone and without informations. It even was so quiet on it's delivery that if I hadn't heard the ever so slight knocking I probably wouldn't have noticed the arrival of a package. I picked it up to place it somewhere inside then went over to go do what I had planned for the afternoon, telling myself I must've had ordered something but just not remembering, as it was a rather usual habit of mine. When I came back to my small 2-rooms apartment in the evening, the package was still sitting on the table. Where I had put it, obviously. Nothing stroke me as particularly odd with the package just glancing at it. Dry, unmoving, which is as a box should be. There is few, very few things I regretted more than opening this stranger package. It contained meat. It wasn't filled with it, nor did the meat looked odd in any way, it was just fresh, raw meat. In a package. At my door. It... definitely wasn't something I had been expecting to find inside. I brushed it off as a simple delivery mistake. After all, we can command meat to get it delivered. Especially that the local butcher shop was offering this service. Yet, it still stuck with me for a while. I never had a great relation with meat and it's industry, as far as I can remember. I threw it away. Seeing these pink, bleedy lumps have always disgusted me to my core. The butcher shop has always freaked me out with the meat hanging like that. I didn't think much about it after a month, after a year and half I had just forgotten about it. Until half a year later, two years after the strange packaged meat, there came another. Another neatly arranged package was there. On the top of it... was an enveloppe, attached with a thin, white string finely set into a gentle loop like a old-fashionned gift. I didn't pick it up right away. It reminded me vaguely too much of the weird, gross package of meat I had received 2 years before. And this time. I was certain I hadn't ordered anything. And the knocking announcing it's arrival had gotten quite louder, as I could hear it from the kitchen. It was still quiet thought, so that I would barely hear it. Despite my resilience to take the package, the envy and morbid curiosity grew bigger and became hard to stand. In the end, I left it out for almost a whole week, before I just couldn't stand knowing it was outside my door anyone. So I let it inside my flat. It was left on the table in my bedroom for quite a while, actually. About a month. Yet when it was opened, the meat was still fresh. The enveloppe contained meat as well, althought it seemed like a different one. It was... spongier than the other. I mean of course, it wasn't the usual kind of spongy meat. The second package was the exact same as the first one thought. And I brushed it off too, however trying to find who was meant to receive them this time. Then the year after, it's the same thing. Same package, same foolish mistake of opening it. All of this, these 3 strange packages, all of it began to form a morbid obsession in me. All of it felt so unreal to even be true. Unfortunately all of it was, and I've learned that the hard way. I won't go on about it for too long I think you understand. The delays between these deliveries atrociously shrinked with the time. And you know what's the worst of it? I couldn't do anything about it. I moved out, for unrelated reasons, from Canada to London, in the hope of finding a new job -which was the reason and also the need of change- but also in the slight hope that the boxes wouldn't get to me again. They found me. I had a nice, stable job, as a librarian in a town near London at the time, when the boxes came again. When they started appearing in bigger quantities, I tried getting rid of them, but no hope, if it was trown away or burned, new ones appeared, with the same infernal and endless knocking, I was on the verge of snapping at this point, couldn't stand the knocking getting louder and louder. So. I was left with no choice but to stock it. Of course it was useless, but I couldn't get myself to try and consume it, the circonstances I got them in were just so strange. The meat took all over my fridge, they just arrived so fast, it couldn't contain any more and was full after a week. Couldn't find the space to buy a bigger fridge, and either way it'll fill just as quick with how the packages started containing more, and they arrived faster over. Over and over and over again. So I empiled them around the fridge, into neat piles, but they kept falling off with the bottom row rotting at an alarming rate. The smell wasn't an issue at first, kept in the fridge, it took over a month to decay. But an hot day or two to three regurarly tempered days were enought for it to become all lumpy and gross. All of it. And I still couldn't throw it away, the rotten wasn't going away either, I just received new boxes of the same decaying meat. So more and more kept coming to that spot of my house. And gradually, very, it ended up covering the whole floor, spilled all over but stomped on so often by myself it kind of became a... meaty carpet. It is as gross as it sound. But the deliveries didn't stop. They just went faster, as my floor was full. I... don't know what kind of thought crossed my mind that day but I picked up the package, I took the tender out of it and slowly, I was hanging it on the walls. And so more, same thing happened, they got full too. I'm not too sure why even to this day but, almost hypnotized, I began to put it on the furnitures. The fridge, the sink, the drawers, the tv, even my bed. All of them were -and still are- covered in that God-awful flesh. this happened over a year ago, I've been sleeping on this for over a year. Then it came to the ceiling, it filled so much faster, as the delays of the meat got so, so much closer. Then over the last year I've just been... mindlessly repeating the same patern. A layer of floor, one of the walls, for furniture and for the ceiling. I... lost my job. I've became so obsessed with the stranger meat I didn't went in over 2 months. Quickly enought, I couldn't afford any food to substain myself, leaving no choice but to try and substain off the flesh that was sent to me. All of this started a year ago. I remember the last time I went outside, the tip of my fingers were.. starting to chip off. I had started eating the meat a few days before only. And that was the indication that I was done. And yes, I haven't came out of my apartment for a whole year. I was trying to avoid eating as much as I could once I realized it was the meat who did this to my poor hand, covering them in a gross, bloody flesh. But I just couldn't help but do it, I felt so strangely compelled to take it and swallow it all the way. And there was more of this thick, bleedish-pink flesh growing on my body as the time went by and I consumed more. Look at me. Look at my hands, my deeply infected hands and arms, the flesh spreading like a virus over my very own being. Look at my neck. Bending too much, covered in a thick, bleedy flesh. But I can't not eat it anymore, I just- depend on it now. I can't get rid of eating it. When I try to, it never ends up well, I feel incredibly nauseous, energiless, and oh so irritable. I get angry at so little when sobering from the meat. Just so you know, it usually takes a lot to irritate me in a regular state. But I just feel so compelled toward it, like an obssession. If you want a level for irritability, there was the smell. I got used to it over time, but that moment, I was sobering from this Flesh, but it came to me, the smell made me so, so terribly angry. Such that I tried to rip off my very own nose to try and get rid of it. I almost succeeded. They keep coming at my door. I can't help it, I need your help, I gotta get rid of them. It's method is ever so cruel, the package meat is so low on nutriments and fat to make you unable to rely on your own body to not consume it. I used to be a rather chubby dude, but look at my face, see how you can feel the bones by just looking at it. So, that's about it.

2023.06.08 14:41 NecessaryExisting679 Let's create a community of PTs who are starting their own outpatient private practice. We all need a space to share and learn from one another. PTs already making good money with an established business that they started, please feel free to offer advice.

I have already received great advice from members of this community. I didn't know how to create a subreddit about starting a private practice, so maybe save and follow this post.
  1. I found office space for $550/month and it's 325 sq feet. Excellent size--probably could have actually gone smaller. But, what do I know. The lease stared May 1, 2023.
  2. I learned on Reddit that I can actually pursue billing insurance so I've started that process.
    1. BlueCrossBlueShield of North Carolina was super easy to enroll, just went on their website and enrolled as a new practitioner and then as a new business.
    2. Medicare is a pain in the butt--mainly because the website is so slow to load. But I'm 80% through the application, I'm just waiting on getting printed checks from my business account that I opened yesterday. I didn't know MC needs a voided check --so outdated, everything is done electronically.
    3. I'm working on United Health Care enrollment. Again, went to the website and am following the instructions on enrolling.
  3. Let me back up to make sure ya'll know the basics. You have to have a personal NPI number and a business NPI. These are really easy to get, just go to www.nppes.cms.hhs.gov
  4. Credentialing is all done via a central location called https://proview.caqh.org/ This is where you get your CAQH number. Credentialing is not the same as enrolling. You put all your information about your business and stuff in proview and then insurance companies go to this site to confirm your information. You enroll through each individual insurance company.
  5. Enrolling in Medicare is done via PECOS website www.pecos.cms.hhs.gov
  6. The thing I'm still learning about is a Medicare Administrative Contractors, or MAC. THese are private health insurance companies assigned to specific jurisdictions in USA and they process Medicare claims. They will be local contacts for billing. I still haven't figured out what forms need to be mailed or emailed or sent by carrier pigeon to MAC vs CMS. The information I get contradicts itself. Shocker.
  7. To enroll in Medicare you'll need the government form that shows your company's EIN. It is form CP 575 . It's so annoying....so many websites told me this but they never really told me what it was. I registered my company through Legal Zoom and that is where I found that form.
  8. What else. This is where I need help. What EMR should I use? JaneApp has been recommended. How do I actually bill medicare and bluecrossblueshield? I'll call BCBS and my MAC once I'm enrolled.
  9. My biggest question is, do I have to call each patient's insurance for information? Even if I do, I probably won't understand it. Do I just bill and hope for the best and learn by trial and error how to bill to get paid?
Thanks to everyone who has helped so far. We can do this folks. Yesterday, I started my 15 houweek part time job (PT of course) just to bring in money while I'm building my business. I literally had one patient and already was like, OMG, I have got to get my own company going. First, I'm being paid $45/hour. We can make at least $100/hour billing insurance ourselves.
OK, another big one: NC is direct access. Why do I need to write goals that no one gives a rats ass about? So much of our documentation is a total waste of time. The doctors where I used to work literally used Dragon Assist to dictate a note. I know I'll have to do all the documentation for MC, but do I need to do all that crap for direct access? Can't I just dictate a note and include the billing and diagnosis codes, I'm assuming billing and documentation don't have to be directly linked??? I don't know

2023.06.08 14:40 databudd Become a Data Analyst without any Experience? My thoughts as an analyst...

Hi everyone, I'm a data analyst with my own training company full time and a lot of the time, people ask me how to become a Data Analyst without any experience. And to be honest, it's definitely possible.
I've posted this as a comment here before and it got a lot of responses, so thought I'd make a post.
Firstly base your learning around portfolio projects BUT 3-5 Portfolio Projects is not enough!
This may be overkill but aim for 10 projects upwards especially if you don't have much experience and you want to stick out from the crowd. These projects will serve as your "work experience" so the more, the better
Make sure you cover the following topics as employers tend to like this:
Tableau
If you're looking for ideas, go to https://public.tableau.com/app/search/all and type in Sales Dashboard etc. You'll get lots of ideas and you can download the tableau workbook to see how the author has created it.
But don't stop at 3. Do it for every business process - the good thing here is you can use Tableau Public which is free and publish your dashboards online, here's an example of mine that I use for the udemy courses. https://public.tableau.com/app/profile/devasha5179
Python
Post all the code on github, share it on your resume.
SQL
And then adding some sql projects as well as that's another important language in DA, something like this: https://medium.com/@Armonia1999/data-analysis-project-using-sql-to-clean-and-analyse-data-64a24e84b730. I think you don't need to get too complicated with SQL as that's what we have Python and Tableau.
Adding to your resume
Always make sure whatever you do gets added to your resume. I generally tell my students every project you do, create a little write up an include:
This is great for your resume and will help with interview prep. Having the ability to summarize your process in a way that's easy to digest is a great skill to have and will look good in an interview.
Blog/Youtube/ Social Media
Start a blog, post tutorials, post on LinkedIn. I find the more you network with people in the same industry, the better chance you have of some recruiter stumbling upon your posts and making contact.
Doing Courses
This is a big one and I'm saying this an an instructor that teaches Data Analytics online... you don't need to do a lot of courses. 1 or 2 is enough and they don't need to costs thousands. Do one or two courses and just make sure it's something that you enjoy. Python/SQL/Tableau, whatever. I've interviewed candidates and I've spoken with many Tech Recruiters, 1 - 2 courses is more than enough for your resume
Hope this helps some of you! Also, as we know, economy is terrible at the moment and looking for a job is hard so don't give up!

2023.06.08 14:39 snappy_snake What to do when transitioning from easy waveclear champion to Shen

Hi.
This is a tiny mini guide, for players who are thinking of changing their current main from champion X to Shen top lane.
If you are switching from champion X to Shen support, this guide isn't intended for you. In fact, you can take a deep breath, breath out slowly, and repeat this: "Thank God I will never have to learn to waveclear fast with Shen, since I'm playing him as support."
- - -
Now this guide isn't necessarily for people who are playing Tahm Kench, he is almost equally as bad as pushing wave under enemy turret and resetting, as Shen. (Not quite as bad, but almost.)
This guide is more for people who are Irelia, Renekton or Malzahar top-laners, who can shove lanes into enemy turret and reset or gank other lanes, because with those champions it can be done very easily.
Now, before we start talking about Shen, let's talk about Alistar.
You might wonder, why the hell would we wanna talk about Alistar?
Well, back in the days, like REALLY long time ago, something like 2009 to 2011, Alistar was one the most popular top lane champions in League. However, times has changed, and he isn't played that much in the top lane anymore.
The reason I'm bringing Alistar up, is that for you to feel comfortable clearing wave with Shen, you have to first feel good at it with a champion that has even worse waveclear than Shen, and only then you can move up to Shen. And you wanna guess who has the absolute worst waveclear in the entire game? You guessed it, our big cow friend Alistar.
You see, all those years you playing Irelia top, has screwed up your brain, in a really bad direction. You most likely think: "Oh, waveclearing, it's the one of the easiest things to do in the game."
And technically, you are correct, with Irelia it's like eating bread. Eating bread is easily right? Yes, it is.
Now imagine eating a whole peace of bread if you are an tiny ant. It would take you months, maybe even years to finish that loaf of bread in one standing.
So what you do is, you go to practice tool, you pick 1 enemy champion (preferrabily a traditional top-laner), and start waveclearing and CS:ing as perfectly as you possibly can.
And no, I'm not talking about 1 match against bot. I'm talking about 20+ matches against bot, or until you feel like "Hey, this doesn't feel so bad anymore, I'm getting good at this."
After this, when you switch to Shen, it will all feel easy again. Farming with Shen will feel like x3 easier to waveclear. I PROMISE YOU, THIS TECHNIQUE WORKS! Because everytime forward, when you play Shen, you will be thinking inside your heard "Thank God I'm not playing Alistar right now!" That's the psychological effect we want to achieve here.
- - -
Thank you for reading my mini-guide and good luck on Summoner's Rift!
- - -
Oh and for anyone curious, these 3 champions have the worst waveclear in the top lane, so good luck playing against Malzahar:
  1. Alistar = i would rather eat my own kidney than waveclear
  2. Shen = depressingly bad
  3. Tahm Kench = kind of lousy
