2023.05.24 01:59 reallymkpunk 2015 Kia Soul O2 Bank 1, Sensor 2 Going Again, What to Do?

So last summer about 10 months ago my Bank 1 Sensor 1 went and got the check engine light on my 2015 Kia Soul for code PO130. After getting it replaced at my Kia dealership, this happened several times until they tried changing my Bank 1, Sensor 2 as for some reason it wouldn't register on my ODB2. For eight months, the only thing I had was cold starts. Now today I get these three Bank 1, Sensor 2 codes: PO136 (O2 Circuit malfunction in Bank 1, Sensor 2), PO141 (O2 Heater Circuit malfunction in Bank 1, Sensor 2) and PO420 (Catalyst operating below minimum threshold). I got a service appointment at the soonest with my Kia dealership but the soonest is June 12th (I'm guessing due to all the software fixes for Kia Boyz videos). I'm wondering if there is something else I should do. I went with Kia because they fixed the previous issue.

2023.05.11 04:41 dismantledreverie Please help, where is it?

I have a 2017 touring accord (v6 automatic) and I’m getting a p0159 bank 2 sensor 2 engine light error code. Where is this sensor exactly? I’ve searched forums and here and everywhere all I have is a diagram of a 2005 v6 3.0 accord engine. Not sure if the current J engine kept the same sensor positioning as 12 yrs prior.
Anyone who can explain this and even better get me a pic would be thanked beyond belief.
I’m also getting a po141 but I replaced that sensor already.

2023.02.02 18:55 Intelligent-Kiwi6845 Cat for 450$?

A little too late now since they’re working on my car now but he said 450 and it’ll be done in 30 mins. Seems a little expensive, but I’ve used this shop before and they’re pretty good. When he looks at the bottom of my car he notices I’m missing pretty much my whole muffler so he says 650 for everything and I ask if he can do the Cat and one muffler(shaft) and he says 550. How bad did I get ripped off?
Update: it was a lot quicker than 30 mins. Everything looks fine but my check engine light came on and it gives codes PO138 & PO141 Like the post says it doesn’t have the full muffler that extends to the rear bumper. I can post a picture of it. Just want to know if I should be worried about these codes now…

2022.12.14 02:15 tecatesworld over a thousand in and still doesn't run

I have a 2011 Chevy traverse Lt 3.6 awd . It's been a great car till about a couple months ago when the check engine light came on, had is scanned and it was an o2 sensor so I replaced it and a month later another sensor code . I replaced the 2 and then check engine light came on again and it said another o2 sensor, I didn't have the money so just let it go for like a month and a half, was driving home and the dash said engine power source reduced and then it quit. I drug it home with a chain and a buddy and scanned it and it had codes , Po141, p029d, p0089,p0087,p0301,p029d .
I replaced all injectors, all plugs, fuel rail sensor, all o2 sensors and air filter and cabin filter just because . Now It acts like it's gunna fire up but it doesn't .
I got frustrated when it didn't start 30 mins ago and figure I would ask you all. Any help would be great . Thanks

2022.09.14 04:47 wickedwarlock84 Fuel issues with Tacoma

Mods, let me know if this is not the correct sub for this, and recommend a better location.
So, 2001 Tacoma Ext with the 2.4 and 378k miles. The truck generally runs great but sometimes and there's no reasoning or rhyme to it the truck will act like it's suffocating with no fuel. Sputters and backfires, the only thing you can do is floor it and get to the shoulder of the road. Normally it won't die, just runs like crap for a few mins and then levels back out. Recently we have replaced the fuel pressure sensor, fuel pump, fuel filter, O2 sensors, and a couple of other small things. All to no resolve...
The same check engine codes are showing as were before everything. While I am no mechanic I have a family of them, and I spend my living on computers. So, as you guessed I have Googled, my life away trying to find answers to this, and nothing.
Here are some general pictures of the motor, I can always take a more specific picture on request. I did find a wire unplugged from something and cant find where it goes above the air filter box and below the wiper motor, your see it laying there on the finder well in the first picture.

2022.04.10 08:08 Small_Necessary6790 Hey. I recently replaced bottom o2 sensor on my accord 07. It had PO141 code. Now it shows po139 slow sensor response and sometimes like very rarely the check engine light goes off for two three days and then again hits up with code po139. Accord 2007 I4. 111217miles.

2021.10.16 21:21 Ancient_Quiet3495 Honda element burnt toast smell.

The check engine light came on in my fiance's 2003 Honda element yesterday; it was a solid light not flashing and the car still drives normally. My obd reader gave me the code po141. Which google told me is ((Secondary heated oxygen sensor (secondary H02S)(sensor 2) heater circuit malfunction)). What concerns me is after I noticed the light came on she told me that on two separate occasions she noticed the distinct smell of burnt toast lasting only a few seconds but she wasn't sure if it was related to her turning on the cars heaters for the first time since last winter. Both times the smell occured right after she started the car and lasted only 5ish seconds. I'm taking it in to the shop on Tuesday but I'm not sure if it's safe for her to be driving it until then.

2021.07.28 04:25 FalseCaliber 1999 crv hesitation

So I have a 99 crv with a b20b4 motor in it (from a 98) and when I'm driving there is a lack of power car seems sluggish. Now after I've been driving if I turn the car off and then it back on again the car will hesitate when getting up to speed, it feels like it suddenly cuts off the gas and then if I lightly push the gas pedal it will keep going, also if I stomp on the gas it'll jump and go but half pressed it starts to die out. I have changed spark plugs and wires and distributor and the air filter to no avail. The only code thrown is po141 bank 1 sensor 2. Now if I'm correct that sensor generally doesn't matter very much because it's after the cat. But to add to that my crv has no cat, just a straight pipe to the muffler in the back. Any idea or suggestions?

2020.07.30 07:23 SkeletalPirate Should I buy? 2004 Element- 154,000 mi. $2,000 -Some error codes...

UPDATE!! I got the Carfax...see below for report.

PO341
I'm really interested in it, and from what I can tell, these codes are relatively inexpensive fixes?
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Also a few small things:
-It also has a broken drivers door lock. It can be locked unlocked from the inside, but not the outside.
-The little handle thing on the back window is off/broken.
-The glove compartment latch/lock is broken, so it just kinda hangs there.
-The plastic trimming is kind of lightesundamaged, can that be fixed with Maguiars plastic cleaner revitalizer stuff?
-The rims have lost their paint. Can they be plasti dipped/repainted in any way?
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I have a friend that's owned 2 Elements over 15 years or so. He recommended I get it.
Thank you all for the help!!!!

2019.12.25 02:18 MakingitHappen1986 2007 Accord 4 cyl. Diagnostics say bad O2 sensor..(PO141), replaced it, as well as Cat converter and the engine light Still stays on...

Where to go from here?
2007 Accord ex. 185,000 miles. Well maintained...
Just wondering what to do/check next...
It is giving me the same code PO141, mechanic was befuddled after replacing O2 sensor..I took it to 2 different ones and neither could figure out why engine light Still came on, right after resetting it.
So I replaced the Cat (recommend to me) and the 02 sensor (second new O2 sensor replacement) same thing...it's a driving me nuts. Any tips or ideas is highly appreciated

2018.11.30 22:50 fox18b 2004 GMC Envoy po141 o2 sensor replaced and still getting code after erasing it.

So I pulled the code for the envoy and replaced both 02 sensor since code said 2nd one was bad. Code came back so I have since checked for vacuum leaks and tested 02 sensor. Any good ideas and where can I find route of wiring to locate possible electrical break. Thanks to whoever may respond.

2018.11.19 20:58 jiggywittit69 1997 Chevy K1500 5.0 Vortec.. o2 sensor heater circuit codes

Po141 (bank 1 sensor 2 heater circuit) Po147 (bank 1 sensor 3 heater circuit) Sometimes Po420 (catalyst efficiency)
o2 sensors are new (Bosch), still getting codes for heater circuits.. Letting it warm up for a real long time will make it not trip the codes but it’s kind of ridiculous to let it warm up for 10+ minutes even if it’s warm out. Does anyone know of a splice pack you can easily check or a common solution to this problem.. really don’t wanna go search and destroy on a wiring harness but will if need be.
Thanks in advance y’all

2018.09.28 17:00 Btrash 2004 Ford Escape - P0141 and P0161

Vehicle specs: 2004 Ford Escape XLT, 3.0L V6
Issue: CEL came on while driving to work. Vehicle exhibited no noticeable signs of major malfunction (No odd noises, no hesitation or loss of power, no misfire), so I finished my drive to work, then had a work buddy scan the codes at lunch. The codes were PO141 Downstream O2 sensor heater CIRCUIT fault, bank 1 and PO161 Downstream O2 sensor heater CIRCUIT fault, bank 2. I had him clear the codes and drove about 5 miles and they didn't come back. On the way home from work, the CEL came back on.
I looked into this a bit online because I find it strange that both O2 sensors would go bad at the same time, thinking they share a common wire, fuse, relay (anything) at some point that is actually what is failing. What I have found so far is a mix of helpful (where certain things are located) and discouraging (the fuse that they DO share, is also shared by the upstream O2 senors and Evap system, so I would be getting more codes if this were the issue - Also I checked the fuse JUST IN CASE, and it wasn't blown). What I haven't been able to find out and would appreciate some answers from you guys is the following:
  1. The fact that the codes are the heater circuits SHOULD mean that the actual cats aren't bad and this is more of an electrical issue, correct?
  2. Do the downstream sensors share wiring that the upstream sensors don't? I am thinking not likely since one is on the front side of the engine and one is on the back. However if they do, where would I be looking for this wiring to check of damage and/or check voltages?
  3. Do the downstream sensors share a common relay that the front sensors aren't on that might be bad?
Any other ideas/advice of what the issue could actually be would be greatly appreciated, I know I could try just replacing both O2 sensors, but I don't want to go through the hassle of buying/installing/returning if they aren't the real culprit.
