I'm in a big time mood for some Dark Fantasy (or some fun action-adventure).
I'm a Multi-Para/Novella style rper, and I get quite into worldbuilding and narrative craftsmanship. Please be reciprocal in that regard.
I use a lot of horror-stylized Dark-Fantasy the likes of Berserk, Castlevania, and Claymore, and I'm into general D&D-style High-Fantasy too.
I'm fond of anime-ish aesthetics, and I'm not into picrews, AI art, or real life face claims.
Being said, onto what I'm looking for.
I'm working on a character who can best be described as a murderous vagabond.

He's known as The Riven. And he's kind of a bad guy. This figure is disdainfully regarded as a monstrous manslayer and kingslayer, trailed by ghoulish rumors. He is wanted for his heinous actions, including high treason, murder, and conspiracy, and he is known to be a massive brute in full armor, wielding a massive spear.
I like running him against characters who would serve as a foil to his evil actions. They could be hunting him for some transgression he's committed against them, or they could be working on behalf of a similar agency.
[Ex. Your character is the Paige of a Duke who was recently slain by a certain, murderous vagabond. You hunt him down to seek revenge...or answers.]
He also works well against more lighthearted characters who would struggle to maintain such a bright disposition in an otherwise foreboding world. For example, healers, kind strangers, magi, etc.
[Ex. Your character meets a bloodied and unconscious brute in the woods outside of a city. She naturally wishes to provide aid.]
I don't like "mercenaries" or "just looking for a good fight" characters, as they often lack conviction that helps make the rp feel more multi-dimensional.

I found this community a year or so ago after my ex ultimately decided to end our relationship due to a mental health crisis - or so I thought.
A few weeks ago, I randomly decided to log into Facebook and saw that he's been in a new relationship since 5/2. We broke up on 5/27. Further piecing together some timelines leads me to believe he was seeing her since at least mid-April. Oh, and his sister was helping him hide the whole situation - I reached out to her to help try and get my ex some type of mental health support while we were together, with no response - turns out new gf and her have been FB buddies for a while.
I thought I was over all this shit, but now I feel like I'm processing it all over again from a different angle. I bought in HARD to his reasoning for ending our relationship, and I don't blame myself for doing so - everything he said and did during the process of our relationship breaking down indicated that he was having serious trouble with his anxiety and depression. He had gone off his meds, wouldn't speak to me, wouldn't speak to family...he was nearly catatonic at times. Many tears were shed, many of them in front of each other. I begged him to seek help, broke down in front of him, tried to get through because I really genuinely thought he was suffering. To add insult to injury, we communicated through letters after our breakup and his notes always said that he loved me and hoped this wasn't the end of our relationship.
I am so fucking lost, folks. All I can think is that the person I loved never really existed, or he did exist but was stolen away and replaced by some absolute monster with a frightening lack of empathy. I think I dodged a bullet? Maybe? I don't know. I don't understand why he couldn't just confess to cheating versus dragging me through literal months of absolute hell. I was so fucking worried about him and it turns out he had moved on a long time ago.
I begged him not to keep our apartment - too many memories for me, of us...it was where we had lived and loved together. He had agreed...turns out he never intended to go through with that and moved his new gf in right after me.
What the fuck? I don't think I was a bad partner, I really don't. I wasn't perfect, but I was kind and encouraging and tried to be loving and communicative even when it was scary to be vulnerable. I didn't deserve any of this shit, and I don't deserve to still be thinking of him over a year later.
If folks have perspectives they can share, please do. I'm leaving a lot out of this post, I'm sure. Hard to relive all of it.

Have 2 bonded rescue dogs, about 4yo. They weren’t picky when first adopted, would absolutely demolish dry kibble. But over the years they’ve gotten so picky.
They used to eat the kibble mixed with wet food. Over the last year they started to learn how to pick out the kibble and o my eat the wet food and now they have a specific brand of wet food my parents got for them that they loved (like they would devour the kibble with it too) but I decided not to get anymore of it due to the ingredients and now they won’t go back to their old wet food which they had no problem with before and will barely eat anything.

I bought an old Mac Pro 3.1 to put aside and use as a server. The problem is it was from the UK, and I don't know if I need to purchase a new PSU for 120 volts or if the PSU is set up for both, and I only need a new cord. My buddy just made the mistake of connecting his UK PC to 120v power with an adaptor. Still, it ruined the motherboard because apparently, when the supply is connected to a lower voltage, it doesn't blow the fuse, but the lower flow through caused havoc on the sensitive electronics on the motherboard. Any help is appreciated!

Hi all, I applied for a position with Nationwide and received an email today to do a Prescreen with an office.com form link - but when I go to the link, it asks me to sign in and NOTHING is working. I try to log in with my personal email, it comes back and tells me NOT to use my personal email there and to use my email with my organization or school. I tried logging in only with my phone number and never received the security code it asked for. I even tried making an outlook email on the website and that didn't work either. Can't find any customer service or HR phone number in order to contact them for help.
What do I do? Has anyone experienced this?

This doesn't help us at all against the people who only run, dont even want to come in range, use the tallest longest reach fighter they can, and spam x3 back step straights and 3x backstep jabs everytime you get NEAR their range. You still will not be able to hit them.
With that being said, this should have been a fundamental basic mechanic to begin with.
what you really need to add if you want to have a solution to the running and winning on points when you shouldn't be, you need to add the ability to body block people, and or to push them when you get close, so if you run into a corner, I can push you when you try to circle out and keep running, and at least beat you up for a second in the corner.

About this Server
This will be a Dungeons and Dragons server. We do not promote religions, political agendas, ideologies, sexualities, racial supremacy, national supremacy, etc. I am about bringing people together to tell a story. You get one official warning and then you are gone. This community isn’t about supporting people who can’t control their behavior and emotions. I want players who are going to be engaged and focusing on the game. I don’t want people browsing the internet and playing video games.

We will be using the Auroboros setting from Warchief. There is an in game calendar.
Player Driven
Players will drive the narrative of the story. There is no asking, “Is there a tavern?” Players at this table will say, “I am going to my favorite bar, ‘The Golden Cups’ and reach out to my contact there. It’s a dark bar with the shadiest…’ This won’t be a campaign in rails. I will provide a scaffolding for us to build a world in and I will be playing the NPCs. If you do something outside the lines we can always delete and retcon.
Together
It’s up to the players to stick together. Find the reason. The lawful good Paladin and the chaotic neutral rogue. The rogue might be sticking with the Paladin for a chance at treasure, loot, rewards, and access. Paladin might be sticking to the rogue because this rogue is quite connected and can be leveraged for good. My job as the GM is not to herd cats.
Fade to Black
I won’t be roleplaying romantic scenes with other players, but if they want to role-play their own NPCs for a narrative I won’t stop it but we will fade to black once we hit PG-13.
Table Rules
There are some Homebrew Rules but for the most part we will use RAW. This is mainly to help balance things out.

I want to scrape this website for around 10-15 URLs to check if particular items I'm interested come back in stock. This will be my first programming project (I only know Python and basic HTML/CSS).
I've not looked much into the libraries I would use but I'm guessing beautiful soup 4 and requests? As for the actual scraping I plan on checking this meta tag for availability . If it says "InStock" then that should indicate item availability. Then probably have it alert me via Discord or something. (not thought about this part yet nor have the networking knowledge to do it).
Any suggestions on what I should do? Looking forward to this project as this is what got me into learning Python.

I am 22M, I am so sick and fucking tired of my family. My parents have argued almost non-stop for the past 10 years, mom is an abusive piece of shit. Now my sister lives in Australia and my mom has been there for some time.
They want me to go there, I'm supposed to catch a plane to there in about 9 hours. Even though my mom and dad are like 12k km apart they still manage to fight each other almost daily. I was in AU last year and I'm supposed to essentially immigrate there this time. These past weeks I was looking forward to it, but with every new argument they have I can't stand going there, nor living with them.
Two days ago I told them that I am on the verge of killing myself because of them and that I don't want to go. My mother "accepted" and told me "It's your choice in the end. If you don't want to come, then don't." At the time it seemed like she really meant it but she was saying it cynically. Then yesterday I somehow cleared my head and wanted to go again. Today they argued again, and I made my 'final' opinion/decision of not going.
Of course, mom's true opinion came out: "Thank you for doing this to me. You're killing me. I don't want you anymore" followed by my sister's "You're not being fair, you will break my heart if you don't come. You're not my brother" Followed by crying and basically losing their minds over my true feelings.
My mom has succeeded in her mission of making herself the victim, once again. I feel forced to go there. It's fucked when you have an enmeshed dysfunctional family. I was expecting this from my mom, but not from my sister. Surprisingly, my father has been the most supportive by telling me that whatever decision I make is fine, even willing to look past the money he spent on the ticket.
My plan was to go to another city and go no contact with them. I have a friend that wanted to live in that city and so I was gonna pick him up and share bills. I feel very disgusted at my family for using these cheap manipulative tricks.
The thing is that if I go there, I am gonna be stuck living with my mom and sis. After what they said to me today, I doubt it'll be blissful there. I won't be able to get a job immediately. If I go to the other city with my friend, I'll get a job, I can still apply for a visa in AU after about 2-3 years of work to gain work experience for a skills assessment.
Please someone tell me I'm not in the wrong for simply expressing my true fucking feelings over this.

Pretty much what the title says... not sure what I'm doing wrong so totally open to ideas.
I come from a Prusa MK3 and never had issues with PLA sticking to the plate before. I got my X1C a couple days ago and while I have had a few successful prints I'm getting a lot of failures for just first layer not sticking. This is specially so with models that have a lot of small parts like the torture toaster.
So far I've tried with the green PLA sample that comes with the printer, SUNLU PLA+ and Prusament PLA. For the last two I'm using the Generic PLA preset. Using the cold plate with the printer closed and keeping the bed temperature to somewhere between 35 and 40 (did a couple tries).
For the bed I basically grabbed it the first time, put glue stick all over it and started printing. Right now I just washed it completely with detergent + warm water and I'm waiting for it to dry before starting over.
Any hints or tips I could try?. The printer has been amazing so far, just having this issue with reliability in some prints.
