I’ve been in a rental home for one year in Texas. We signed a two year lease. Since living here, it has been the rental from hell. We’ve had our air conditioning unit break two times, the landlord has replaced it. Both times it was broken, and we had to leave the home and stay in a hotel (paying our own expense) due to the extreme heat without AC in the middle of TX summer. It was over 100+ degrees in the home. We’ve also experienced a honey bee infestation on our back porch. We’ve had bee keepers come out and look. There’s a huge honey comb in the fucking wall!!!! We told the landlord and they had a “professional” come out and seal the outside entrance. The “professional” told us that this wouldn’t stop the infestation.. only provoke the bees. IT DID. Fast forward a year, the honey bees are still in the same location and it seems as though they will not leave. We cannot use our backyard at all due to this infestation. It’s unfair to us and our children to not use a yard we pay a ton of $$ for! The landlord will not remove the bees. Is this grounds for breaking the lease here in Texas? Does this qualify as unsafe living conditions??? At this point, we just want out of this lease!

23 (f) living in Florida (born and raised here) and I’m already so exhausted in every possible way. Growing up we went back and forth between barely middle class and poverty line. My mom had money (parents divorced when I was 1, I was an unhappy accident & we lived in a trailer park with no heat) only because she was a sugar baby to a man 17 years older and used all the money on drugs & alcohol and of course popped another crotch goblin out for me to raise along with raising myself. My mom pocketed my child support when she had custody & my dad did the same when he had custody and my mom had to pay. Needless to say I had an awful turbulent childhood and sometimes we didn’t have food bc mom used the grocery money on vices when stepdad was on a business trip. My dad took me off his health insurance when I was 19, which was great of him because I have PTSD and can no longer go to a therapist or psychiatrist bc I can’t pay out of pocket. I haven’t been to the dentist since I was in 8th grade. I’m thousands of dollars in debt with the hospital from when I had a seizure (caused by a heart condition) and broke 4 bones in my foot when I fell and seized. I was in the hospital for less than 24 hours and was only put in a tiny ER room so it’s blasphemy how much they think I’m gonna pay for that lol. I make just a few dollars over qualifying for food stamps and absolutely cannot afford insurance through the affordable care act. Kind of hilarious to me how not affordable it truly is. Can’t find affordable housing…the list goes on. Tired of working a shitty job just because they offer benefits (I still have a long time before they ever kick in). Find it impossible to save money. My parents don’t help me with anything, if I talk about how much I’m struggling all they do is say “well at least you don’t have kids to take care of” as if that’s supposed to make me feel better. This is all making my existing mental health issues skyrocket. Considering stripping to make fast cash because I don’t know what else to do when I’m short every week. My car insurance just went up almost double for no reason on MINIMUM coverage with no accidents. I’m trying to hang in there but it’s so fucking hard.

Hi all,
I posted last week about my remission from Erythromelalgia and I wanted to give more backstory. I’ve received some DMs and felt I should give a broader context.
My EM symptoms began about 8 years ago in my face and ears typically unilaterally at night after a long day of working on my feet. I dealt with it for years by icing my face (which I later learned was wrong) and showing my doctors pictures of my swollen, red, burning, hot-to-the-touch fingers, feet; elbows, knees, ears, and face. No luck with diagnosis or help for many years until I saw the Mayo Clinic for something unrelated and got a name. No treatment but a name.
My flares were always caused exclusively by the typical: heat and exercise. They were worse in the evenings. Burning not to the touch, numb, painful, swollen, pins and needles torture. Every single day.
I read up online and learned about lidocaine cream which I was using up until the point that I simply couldn’t take it anymore. Living in Florida my EM was ruining my life. I couldn’t go outside, could hardly walk around or stand up without triggering a flare-up, and on a complete prayer I just asked my GP for help.
Saw a rheumatologist and luckily he had a patient who also had EM. We tested for every autoimmune under the sun and nope, negative, just EM! He started me on 25mg of Topiramate 3x a day and we switched now to 100mg of extended-release Topamax (taking 3 pills a day is hard).
3ish months now and I’m in total remission. No redness, no swelling, no horrible pain in the heat or when exercising. Literally a miracle. I’m 5’5” and female for the record — 28 years old and approx 130 lbs.
Now, here is the main reason I’m making this post, I want to say that as much as this medication has provided me much-needed relief, this is a challenging medication. The side effect profile is intense. It has been hard for me to be on. 25% of people in clinical trials discontinued use due to adverse reactions compared to the 10% of people on placebo.

• Fatigue (15% of people)
• Constant pins & needles in my hands (51% of people)
• Significant weightloss / anorexia (15% of people)
• Significant changes to my taste (15% of people)

If you don't drink enough water you're at a high risk of kidney stones. It can cause confusion and dizziness, I mean it's nicknamed "Dopamax."
I had someone write to me and say they know someone with this condition but it’s not that painful just red — how did I get treatment? I would NEVER recommend this medication if you are not in pain. Frankly, I’m not a doctor but I’m not even sure that it can be EM without the pain.
So please if you’re browsing this subreddit for answers, do not seek out treatments like mine unless you’re doing a serious risk vs benefit analysis.
I will never stop taking Topamax because it has given me my life back, but I would not recommend it unless you need serious relief. I don't post any of this to scare anyone -- if you are in the situation I was in -- literally scared to hold hands with another human or hug them, nervous to go for an evening walk, and you don't know what to try next, I would 1000000% recommend giving Topamax a try if your doctor is on board. But, do consider that everything has risks and benefits!

Hi, I wrote here few days ago my first post in this group (https://www.reddit.com/ChineseMedicine/comments/142prjz/looking_for_advice_after_western_medicine_failed/ ) and I really don ´t wanna spam but I got some update about my situation - results from what my TCM practitioner told me were my issues and plan of fixing it.
Again, my full list of symptoms is:

1. Low energy
2. Cold feet at all weather (according to Western medicine I have anemia)
3. Lower back pain
4. Varicocele and its pain after exercising or masturbation
5. Erectile dysfunction and Low libido
6. Dry eyes
7. Dry skin / dry face / dry nose
8. Taking too long to eat a meal (-60 min) - only applied to solid meals, soups I eat in a normal speed
9. Little white spots on my nails

And the verdict of my TCM practitioner after telling her all my symptoms in detail and after she examined my tongue and pulse:

1. Qi energy deficiency, deficiency of Spleen (Pi) and deficiency of "plux Fei" - my question to you - what is that plux Fei, please?
2. There is a "SHI/RE" - Damp-heat with Qi energy stagnation and blockade of blood (Xue) in my pelvis
3. Deficiency of blood (Xue)
4. Implied deficiency of Yang of kidney (Shen)

She proceeds to say,
"In the 1.step, we focus on cleansing the "Damp-heat" and by moving the stagnating energy and blood blockage in the pelvis area, that is the root cause of erection and varicocele issue."
"2. step: consequently, once it is cleansed, we supply the body what it needs, I would focus on adding energy and blood, what will positively affect tiredness and your overall constitution, what should improve is: tiredness, dry eyes, feeling of cold and digestion"
"The main tool in both steps are herbs. In the pelvis area there may be a share of supressed emotions - if it shows this way, we can add acupuncture."
Then she says I can choose from dry herbs or a pre-made concoction made from those herbs and that both has pros and cons - dry herbs take longer to prepare but that they are 20% stronger (that´s how I understand what she wrote at least) and concoction is ready to drink but is weaker because those who make it only infuse it once whereas with dry herbs I am advised to infuse them twice. Pricewise they are the same.
In the end of her report she says
"Overall I expect treatment time of 2 months depending on your condition. The first improvement should take place around 3 weeks time of when started taking the herbs."
I found this page and investigated the conclusions she came to and regarding the Damp-heat she claims I have, I am confused as here: (https://www.meandqi.com/tcm-education-centepatterns/damp-heat#diagnosis) according to the symptoms mentioned, I only have Swollen neck glands and Feeling of heaviness and when compared to this (https://www.meandqi.com/tcm-education-centepatterns/damp-cold#diagnosis) - Damp-cold I feel as if I have more symptoms of this one. Also overall I feel cold not heat. Sun is what makes me feel best last years. I fear the herb mixture aimed to fight the Heat-cold would exacerbate my cold feeling symptoms. But I have no idea really.
Also during the examination she said there was definitely Yang deficiency but now in her report I don´t see it - and according to my symptoms I do have that, too.

My appeal to you, those that are experienced I would be very grateful to you if you found the time to tell me your ideas on:

1. Whether the symptoms match the diagnosis
2. What is your opinion on the Damp-heat vs Damp-cold comparison?
3. What about the Yang replenishing she didn´t mention in her report?
4. What about the difference between dry herbs and premade concoction? Which one shall I opt for?
5. What is that "plux Fei" shre wrote, please? (couldn´t find the meaning)
6. What do you think about the two steps she suggests for me - first cleaning the pelvis then adding the Qi and blood?
7. Do you think acupuncture is a good idea alongisde taking the herbs? Or shall I first wait and see (as my TCM practitioner suggests) if the pelvis problems are partially caused by suppressed emotions? (I want to speed up the process as much as possible and would like to do acupuncture for my erection/lower back pain/varicocele)

Anything else you are willing to share with me regarding this, I will be happy. I know it is hard and challenging for you to diagnose anything as you didn´t see me personally or my tongue or felt my pulse.
It is not that I don´t trust my TCM practitioner, but I have no experience at all and it is my first time talking to a TCM practitioner and if I have the option to ask for opinions of you people, I will be glad to get some. I am a bit paranoid she would give me the wrong herbs or make a mistake and prolonging the treatment time - paranoia in place since the Western medicine actually aggravated my health condition - I had to 2 surgeries so far and both caused me daily pain (1. surgery was laser refractory eye surgery 6 years ago where they damaged by corneal nerves resulting in me having symptoms of dry eye, 2. surgery was microchirurgical varicocele treatment which failed and my problem reoccured and started hurting frequently - never had any pain before the surgery for 5 years since I developed varicocele). Overall I made some terrible decisions when younger and ruined my health and for the last 3 years spent too much time, money and energy trying to fix this by the Western health system resulting in just worsening my situation. Frustrating. Started learning Qigong yesterday from online lessons.

"Superfoods
For Vegetarians And Vegans Or Who?
I have heard so much about superfoods and their benefits. What's your experience and what do you think about them?
Are there such things as superfoods? Gogi berries, cocoa beans, nibs and powder, noni juice and powder, maca root powder, acai berries and powder, hemp seed powder, camu camu berries and powder, green-tea extract, blue mangosteen, cod liver and fish oils, green powders and pills made from green grasses and their juices and algae such as spirulina, and chlorella are all claimed as raw superfoods by many people in the raw-food movements. I found that it is mainly within the vegetarian and vegan raw-food groups that people seek superfoods. It is helpful to understand why they must have superfoods.
Consider that humans have acidic and short digestive tracts producing acidic digestive fluids and harboring acidic bacteria, and 80% of teeth are designed for cutting, extremely similar to carnivores. Herbivores have mainly alkaline and very long digestive tracts producing vast amounts of alkaline- digestive juices and bacteria, and all teeth are molars for grinding vegetation. Rarely are there healthy long-term raw vegetarians and vegans. Usually, the more committed ones hit a wall at 7 years. Others that cheat may spend a decade or two before they hit the wall. Often, the wall is serious disease such as cancer. Half of my cancer patients were long-term vegetarians and vegans.
Ninety-nine percent of human vegetarians and vegans cannot get enough protein and fats, and lack minerals and an array of nutrients from their diets. Ninety-nine percent of their bodies are unfulfilled and unsatisfied. I know from 6 years of subjective and objective experience as a raw "balanced-diet- eating vegetarian evolved to vegan." I and ALL of the vegetarians and vegans I knew were usually malnourished with eating disorders. I adhered to it 99.9% of the time. Others were much less tenacious. However, occasionally, uncontrollably yet consciously, I stretched and contorted what foods were truly raw, trying to force reality to conform to my adopted concepts of vegetarianism and veganism.
I did not realize the irrationality of believing that humans were optimally healthy as raw-food vegetarians and vegans. I had accepted the false information that our digestive tracts were more alkaline like other primates, and herbivores. I was so malnourished, anytime anyone told me about a superfood such as amaranth "grain of Egyptian gods", I consumed it. However, all such promises of superfoods resulted in my slow but steady deterioration to 96 pounds at 5'8".
Primal-Diet-eating athlete Scott Wheeler of Australia for example won the race at the Raw Games in Hawaii November 2008. All of the other runners were vegetarians or vegans, some mostly raw and some not.
Ninety percent or more of all of currently purported superfoods are processed and not truly raw. They are not fresh so they lack enzymes. Whenever foods are dried, bioactive enzymes are inactivated like a dead auto battery. They cannot be resurrected any more than we can resurrect ourselves from dead. Therefore, even dried fruits are not really raw because they lack bioactive enzymes.
Although Native North American Indians lacked our laboratory sciences, they knew the inferior nature of dried food. They had empirical science called experience. Empirical awareness and knowledge is much more valuable, containing wisdom rather than conclusions based on chemical theories and hypotheses.
Each summer, Native Americans made large supplies of a mixture of dried meat and fat, sometimes adding berries. It is called pemmican. It would be eaten in case they could not find fresh kill. Eating pemmican would prevent starvation, fatigue and bodily deterioration. The process of making pemmican was time-consuming, both hunting and preparing it by drying, beating it until it became flour, soaking it in the sun with warmed fat, drying it in the sun and sitting near it and occasionally pressing it into 90 pound dried hard blocks. By spring, if they did not consume it, they buried it because they knew it would not be optimum for their health.
Let's take a look at the processes that so-called superfoods undergo to see if they are truly raw. Noni juice is chemically or heat processed to prevent fermentation in bottles. The chemical process utilizes kerosene derivative or alcohol. Both are natural but toxic. All "superfoods" that are powdered must be thoroughly dried so they do not cake and stick in the machines while being ground. When hard foods such as cocoa beans and roots are ground into flour, the machines reach a temperature of at least 176° F (80° C), cauterizing the foods.
Cauterization seals the food and makes it harder. It is therefore harder to liquefy and takes more time to digest in the digestive tract. Also, any metallic minerals in the foods will be released by the heat and be more toxic. Claims that such foods are 100% raw and have more antioxidants are false, after drying and cauterizing/cooking. They have the opposite effect in varying degrees.
Whole leaf grasses and fruits also have to be completely dried and hardened for powdering. Rarely are any grasses sun-dried. Usually, they are kiln-dried at temperatures above 118° F (48° C) and up to 138° F(59° C). They are also subjected to the same friction-heat from machines during the powdering processes that reach at least 176° F (80° C). They are not raw because all enzymes are destroyed and the food is cauterized/cooked. Also, we are not herbivores that can properly digest vegetable matter, especially when dried. The only exception is chlorella; I have experimented and found it to be somewhat beneficial. Commercial liquid green teas are all steeped in boiling water.
Sometimes, kerosene derivatives, distilled alcohol or other chemicals are sprayed on those foods to breakdown the oils and force them to dry faster. Since kerosene and alcohol are natural, they may legally call the product "All Natural." They know they mislead consumers and they do not care. Their interest is to supply products for abundant profits rather than produce quality products for which they obtain less profit.
The same is true of acai, camu camu, gogi, and noni. There are many beneficial claims about those foods so most people who consume them believe my analyses of those foods are wrong. However, consider that people feel better because most of those foods are high in carbohydrates and raise the blood and nerve sugar levels causing hyperactivity.
Raised blood and nerve sugar levels are not indications of health. In fact, they are indications of bodily harm. Columbia University found that we store 70-90% of Advanced Glycation End-products (AGEs), byproducts from spent high-carbohydrates, in our bodies for a lifetime. AGEs are cancer feeding byproducts that cause many ill effects, including arterial sclerosis by attaching to venous and arterial walls.
Also, infusions of powders cause increases in hormones such as adrenalin, also elevating energy levels but not to healthful benefits long-term. All endocrine glandular production is for emergency purposes only. For instance, adrenaline is for fight and/or flight. We are supposed to derive our energy from foods that supply fats, proteins with little carbohydrate, rich in enzymes and bacteria. If we were to eat proper raw foods rich in fats and proteins, and digest and assimilate them properly, most of us would have improved energy and stamina. After many years of eating a proper diet, we would develop tremendous energy and stamina. Like primitive Eskimos, we could live happily in the most strenuous climates and environments.
Cocoa beans (cacao), nibs and powder contain theobromine which is similar to caffeine and a nerve irritant. When cooked and/or processed, that neural irritant is a free radical. It often stimulates hormones such as adrenaline, testosterone and estrogen, making people think their new energy is healthful.
The only truly raw cocoa bean retains it moist skin and must be hand peeled. In small amounts it may be briefly ground in a coffee-bean grinder or blender without reaching high temperatures to retain its rawness and nutrition. I discussed the benefits of eating small amounts of raw cocoa beans in the earlier PD newsletter issue Vol. 7, Oct. 30, 2007. I have a correction to that. Cocoa beans do not contain the nerve stimulants/irritants caffeine or theophylline. They contain theobromine of the same family as caffeine and theophylline.
Fish and cod liver oils must have all proteins removed on which bacteria can feed, according to USFDA standards. That requires heat and/or chemical processes to separate and extract proteins. Two companies claim they produce their fish oils without heat or chemicals but they add processed oils as preservatives. Although that is a small amount, those preservative oils have been heat and chemically processed. How much fish oil is lost to the heated and processed preservative oils? How much of the fish oil will be contaminated by the processed preservative oils? We can glean an idea by the fact that they add enough to prevent the oil from being predigested by natural bacteria. If all of the oil is prevented from predigestion, how much will we not be able to digest? How much will the contaminated preservative oils contaminate us?
As a civilized race whose members eat processed and chemicalized-food, we require air-conditioning and heat in our homes and transportation to sustain us or we cannot work, play or eat. Our perspiration would reek. So many people I know who exercise reek of old stinky sauces, especially tomato sauces. They have a body odor like the outdoor garbage bin of fast-food Italian restaurants or pizza parlors on a hot summer day. That odor is from chemically produced flavorings and fragrances added to tomato sauces to make flavor and odor consistent. Civilized man is now the weakest organism on this planet.
"Superfood" is a misnomer. All lack enzymes and little can be digested and assimilated. Some contain nerve irritants and other chemicals that cause the body to produce hormones that flow through blood and nerves, elevating a sense of well-being without elevated true health. Therefore, the body's responses to "superfoods" indicate toxic responses. Calling any processed food superfood is the same as calling supplements magic bullets. However, if I were to judge any food as superfood, one would be honey that was unheated above 92° F (33° C). Another would be bone marrow from completely organically raised animals, fresh and raw in bones."

A large concern in the UPS / TEAMSTERS negotiation is the heat level in the cargo area of the package cars or brown trucks. Teamsters want Air Conditioning installed.
If the company agrees to retrofit existing vehicles that could be a boon to companies which build AC hardware for the delivery vehicles. It might just bolt on, the powertrains for the vehicles is likely the same ones vendors sell to corps who DO want factory AC.
What companies do you think stand to gain? Do you think it would be a whole fleet retrofit or merely an agreement to purchase AC on new vehicles? (would take literally 20 years to completely roll over).
I don't know if they would contract out the installation to a third party or do it in house either. Any ideas who would gain if outsourced?
Further, since the cargo area is the main concern I wonder if it would be a non standard setup, like the Prius' solar powered AC system

In this sequence their sensory abilities are enhanced as they can now get a rough outline of everything around them around 3ft.
Acting Method: Map down the stars and the planets, study them and their effect on the surrounding foreign objects nearby
Sequence 7: Gravimeter-Graviters at this level now learn how to use gravity to control nearby objects. At this level they may have objects float up and be thrown or pulled at their will. They gain a boost to their sensory abilities and may now sense spirits to a limited degree

Sequence 6: Magnetic Apostle-At this sequence Graviters learn how to form barriers using repelling gravity. These barriers are made of pure gravitational forces which can handle physical and mystical blows equally well. The barrier can be not only quickly be put up but also used to repel enemies that are too close for comfort.

Sequence 5: Influencer-The core powers of this sequence is attraction and repulsion, and the applications of that power. With attraction, you can direct attacks launched by your enemies towards their allies by planting a corresponding mark on them. With repulsion, you can use it as support in combat where sneak attacks are bounced off up to a certain extent, as well as defending against “mysterious” attacks. Case in point, Dragon’s Might from a S5 spectator can be repulsed to a certain extent and bounce to another nearby person. This sequence is strongest against energy pathways, such as Tyrant, Sun, or Door, strong against physical pathways such as Warrior, and weak against bizarre pathways, such as Black Emperor or Justiciar, because it’s harder to repulse or redirect their powers.
Acting Method: Create a group or gathering of people that will serve as your moons. Have this group or gathering revolve around you as the Earth and then being your moons
Advancement Ritual: Create a mock solar system while up at above the clouds with your body serving as the sun. The components for the other planets must be either from spatial foreign objects or Beyonder ingredients of equal pathway sequence
S4. Celestial Body-Two new core abilities are now given,Conservation/Reversion.
Conservation is to attract the attacks of the enemy into a specific location, or gathering the forces of gravity upon one target, impacting their mobility, or even gathering seconds of time from a certain area to another.
For example, by gathering the surrounding gravitational force to make a gravitational time dilation can slow down time to make the area around me seem to move slower. That being said, I can grant the time I gathered to my opponent’s area, and cause time to be stacked and delayed- slowing him down or making his spells miscast from the sudden flow of information as time reconfigures itself around him.
Reversion, or Inversion, is the opposite of Conservation. You release the energy formed by Conservation, or you revert the time influenced by it. With a flip of your hand, gravity is lighter, time speeds up, and so on and so forth. One use of this ability is to cause cause the gravity around the opponent to make them suddenly move faster than normal and trip on their own feet. Spellcasters will be unable to properly perform their spells with this also being able to be used to help allies.

S3. Sentinel of Singularity: At this sequence I gain the ability to control Singularities to make a concentrated area of infinite density. This is a space where I gain complete domain of my surroundings spanning a wide dome like shape. All mythical abilities and interfere
Ince break down and become nothingness as the singularity continuously breaks down whatever I will inside the range. Time stays in a fixed state but by controlling the density I can play out previous events that happened. Also due to Space/Time being in my complete control in this domain I can break down said moments according to my will. For example, if someone tried to use the ability of the Tyrant pathway tried to fire lightning I break down that moment in Space/Time to either keep them frozen there in that moment for as long as I wish or cause a massive breakdown in that Space/Time to cause a massive relapse in the area once Time/Space tries to fix itself.

S2. Harbinger of The Void-At this sequence They gain control over the crushing relentless weight of the void. They may summon a singular massive blackhole to absorb mythical attacks and creatures before spitting them back out in an explosive burst of energy. This ability isn’t like a real life black hole but a more watered down version that is better suited to pull and absorb mythical attacks and concepts. They can easily repulse illusions and curses along with repulsing the concept of luck and fate to act more freely. If they repulse time everything around them will temporarily slow almost to the point of complete time stop with the Any effects that would’ve afflicted them will instead be dispersed in a wide area to affect their selected enemies.
Hourglass- This ability can now be used to affect concepts such as time,fate, and luck. Luck and fate can be condensed onto Allie’s to grant them enhanced luck and capabilities while being made lighter around enemies to make them expose their weaknesses more and fumble.

I can get this very powerful 2000 CFM negative air machine for a couple hundred bucks (less than a standard home depot/harbor freight 500 CFM dust collection setup). It's used but in good working condition. I am considering mounting it outside my shop and then running ducting to my tools. It seems to me that this negative air machine is just a more powerful dust collector as the motor inside looks like a bigger version of the ones on standard large bag dust collectors, and with proper setup (filters, cyclone etc) it could make a very good and very cheap solution.
I also have the option to mount it inside and add a 99.97% at 0.3 micron HEPA filter as it may suck cold air into my shop at a rate that is super uncomfortable in the winter. But the shop is disconnected from the house so at least it won't be sucking warm air out of my house and driving up my home heating bill.
Am I crazy for thinking this is a great idea :)?
