In my opinion house prices won't ever decrease in Vancouver or Toronto. Houses are being treated like businesses. Small, single-family homes are being torn down and replaced with larger houses containing multiple suites.
When people buy a house, they count on the income from these suites. The result? Rents won't decrease either. Homeowners pass on any increased costs, like higher interest rates, to their renters.
The Lower Mainland is heading towards a system divided between those who have land and those who dont.
It's a sad truth we have to face.
Also if you're okay with living in an apartment, you might have noticed something. The new apartments are becoming smaller, and the quality is going downhill. I don't mean to sound too negative, but when I visited my friend's place, it felt like a human cage. It didnt feel cozy or like a home but rather a cage for excess humans. I don't want to make it sound worse than it is, but that's how many of these new apartments feel. Hi all, I have a repair question. My alternator went out on me at 85k miles. I have an XLE base with a v6 engine. My regular mechanic told me when I called for a quote that they couldn't determine what the part and job would cost because the avalon has a range of different voltage alternators even when I gave him the specific specs of my car. I'm assuming I'm going to get a quote around 1k. My question is this, are the bsing me just to get the job? How hard is it to buy the part yourself and have a mobile mechanic change it out? I called a local highly rated mechanic and he quoted me half that for parts and labor. But now I'm paranoid because the guy at the other place made it sound like I could end up putting the wrong part it and my car wouldt start. If any experts could give some insight that would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Now I am not a professional at FB Ads, but I've been running Facebook Ads as a side income/hobby for the past 5+ years with some $10K per month budgets. Nothing major, just some small B2C related campaigns for Ecom and Lead Gen.
I've noticed that, when a campaign runs at a stable $25 cost per lead (which is a good price) and the campaign runs for say $100/day, I usually get performance like this:
Day 1: 4 Leads Day 2: 3 Leads Day 3: 1 Lead Day 4: 8 Leads Day 5: 0 Leads Day 6: 3 Leads Day 7: 1 Lead Day 8: 10 Leads Day 9: 2 Lead Day 10: 8 Leads Day 11: 0 Leads
This is still $25 cost per lead. But whenever I get a big spike in leads, like day 8 or day 4, usually the next day I get terrible performance, as if Facebook sends bad traffic on purpose, not to get me a cheaper cost per lead, so I can spend more, but keeping in the sweet spot so I can scale and well spend more.
This has always been the case, for every single campaign. Am I the only one thinking this?

Attributes

There are four core attributes: Strength, Dexterity, Intellect, and Will that are represented by a number between -3 and +6.
Strength: might attack challenges, health, weak save
Dexterity: finesse attack challenges, strong save
Intellect: arcane attack challenges, perception, weak save
Will: divine attack challenges, strong save
Proficiency = half level rounded up (1-5)
Stamina and Focus
Two resource pools that a character can use to perform additional feats. Once depleted, they cannot be used without first taking a recovery action, regaining an amount of points equal to the result of the recovery die. Each replenish completely after each encounter.
Stamina = 3 + highest physical attribute. Used to perform empowered attacks, sprinting, and evading attacks.
Focus = 3 + highest mental attribute. Used to empower spells and maintain concentration.

Empowering spells works like Sorcery Points and Metamagic features of D&D 5e and Pathfinder 2e.

Protection
Determined by worn armor and wielded protective armaments (shields and weapons with the Guarding trait). Protection represents your ability to prevent damage that would be dealt to you. Enemy attack challenges are typically made against this score and your character will take damage equal to the difference.
Hit Points = 10 + Strength + Proficiency
Perception = 10 + Intellect + Proficiency

This score serves as a Passive Perception score found in some D20 systems, and is the default method of determining surprise from hidden creatures.

Armor Class

There are three armor classes: Light, Medium, and Heavy.
Light
Linens, cloths, leathers, and furs. You gain the following:

• Evade costs 1 Stamina
• Protection = 4
• +1 Focus

Medium
Boiled leathers, brigandine, and half-plate. You gain the following:

• Evade costs 2 Stamina
• Protection = 7

Heavy
Full Plate. You gain the following:

• Evade costs 3 Stamina
• Protection = 10
• -1 Focus
• Fortified: effects that would force your movement only move you half as far, rounded down to the nearest 5 foot increment.

Challenge Rolls

A challenge roll is made whenever a character has to take some kind of action where the outcome is uncertain and their chances of success are determined by the difficulty of the challenge and their ability to overcome that challenge. All challenge rolls will require rolling 2d6 + an attribute modifier to overcome a target number (TN) to determine a result. Critical successes are marked on a 11 or 12, rolling a new die for each six and adding the rerolled die to the total result.

2d6 + Attribute + Proficiency + Boons/Banes + Other Modifiers vs Target Number (TN)

Boons and Banes
Boons and Banes are conditional modifiers that are applied to the roll. Some effects in the game will call for a roll to be made with a number of either Boons or Banes, or the GM may call for a number of Boons or Banes to be rolled given an in-game circumstance that would call for it.
Each Boon and Bane that would applied to the same roll cancel each other out and no more than a total of three Boons or Banes may be applied to a given roll. So if three Boons and one Bane are applied to a roll, the roll is made with two Boons.
When a player rolls a Challenge Roll with any Boons or Banes, they roll an additional number of d6’s equal to the number of Boons or Banes. Then, if they rolled with Boons, they take the highest two results. If they rolled with Banes, they instead take the lowest two results. All additional results are removed from the pool and not counted. After all extra dice are removed from the pool, critical successes are checked.
Attack Challenge
For attacks vs an enemy’s Protection as the TN, the difference of the Attack Challenge result and the TN is the amount of damage dealt to the enemy’s HP.
However, some attacks are made against an enemy’s attribute defense score, bypassing their armor and determining the success based on their attribute defense target number. For attacks vs an enemy’s attribute defense, is made against their static defense number in the corresponding attribute. Rolling greater than or equal to the TN causes the success line of the ability to trigger. Rolling under the TN causes the failure line of the ability to trigger. If there is no failure line, no effect takes place.
Defense Challenge
Defense Challenges are performed similarly to Attack Challenge and Skill Challenges except they represent you character’s ability to avoid damage, rather than their ability to inflict damage. Rolling a defense challenge result higher than the TN usually means preventing the all or some of the effect, while failing means suffering the full effect.

Actions

The action economy is handled in the same way it is in Pathfinder 2e with little variation. Each character gets three actions, free actions, and one quick action. The only key difference is that the first Interact action a character takes each turn is free, then is a single action for each additional Interact action taken on the same turn.
Single Action ⟐
Single Actions require a single AP and usually take no more than a few seconds to perform.
Extended Action ⟐⟐
Extended Actions are actions that require more time and/or are more complex in nature to perform than a Single Action. Each Extended Action may require two or more AP to use.
Free Action ◇
Free Actions can typically be performed swiftly and easily. Free Actions may sometimes require a trigger to be performed (like a Quick Action) or otherwise can be performed like a Single Action.
Quick Action ↻
Quick Actions are actions that are performed in reaction to another event taking place outside of a creature’s turn. Quick Actions will always have a specified trigger and occur as soon as that triggering event occurs.
Multiple Attack Penalty
Attack penalties are resolved in this game with Banes, rather than a flat modifier. Each attack after the first is made with a number of Banes as shown on the table below:

My partner (23f) and I (25m) have been together for around 1 year. I know she suffers with anxiety and it's something I knew about before we got together. We had planned a holiday abroad that I was really looking forward to since it would be my first time I have been abroad since I was a young child
The holiday wasn't cheap and cost us around £850 each but we both agreed it was worth it since the hotel and location looked amazing. A few weeks before going my gf said she felt anxious telling her parents she's going away since they're struggling financially. I tried explaining that even if she didn't go away, she wouldn't have gave her parents the money she spent on the holiday anyway and that they'll be happy she's going on holiday and enjoying herself. She agreed but still put off telling her parents.
The night before the holiday she said she couldn't do it and that she felt too anxious telling her parents. I tried explaining she's an adult so doesn't need her parents permission to do anything and that we've both been looking forward to the holiday. She again refused and said the holiday was cancelled. I was angry since she knew how much I had been looking forward to going and how much money it had cost us. She kept apologising and I just told her I want the money I've spent on the holiday. She asked what I meant and I told her I expected her to reimburse me for the money that I have lost because of her.
She said I was being unreasonable and that I'm judging her for having anxiety and I just repeated I wanted the £850 since it's her fault the holiday is not going ahead. AITB for expecting my girlfriend to pay me the money I lost?

Just fucking done with all the bullshit in my life. I am overworked, severely underpaid, but can’t stop what I’m doing because reasons. I’m literally making $3/h babysitting for family which is utter bullshit. Plan on telling, not asking my family member that I’m going to need a living wage if I’m to continue doing this for years to come. Consistently late paying me ALL YEAR. Asked for mays pay and they state that their spouse already paid for it, Um nope. That was an extremely late April charge and now May is due. Afraid I won’t get June until mid summer, meanwhile said family member is out and about spending their money Willy nilly but is too “broke” to pay me. Feeding their kids alone costs more than what I am getting. On top of all of that, I’m maintaining a household entirely on my own, watching my husbands stupid dogs that he just had to have, but barely takes care of. I struggle with mental health issues and none of this shit helps. I’ve increased my therapy sessions to once a week but there’s only so much I can do on the inside, all these outside things are out of my control and I literally cannot do it anymore. Most days I wonder what everybody would do without me if I just up and left.

So all I know is that it use to be an industrial building that was converted into an apartment complex. It's infamous and apparently has myriads of lofted bedrooms and communal living spaces. It's a place known for wild parties and "apparently" alot of DJs and skaters live there. This is an open letter to reddit on the whole. I have been a user of this site since 2011. My account is only 11ish years old, but I lurked before becoming an active participant in the growing community. I have seen the history of this site with my own eyes. Rage comics, photogenic strangers, the Net Neutrality/SOPA protests, Ellen Pao, the Victoria Taylor debacle, the rise and fall of The_Donald, Tencent's investment, The fappening, Aimee Challenor, and everything in between. All of it. So this API debacle isn't the first bad decision I have seen.
I will say there have been a number of decisions and actions made by the admins that I have strongly disagreed with. Case in point editing usernames mentioned in comments of The_Donald. I think admins editing user's comments to change names is both childish and authoritarian. Even if those comments are directly insulting you and a being made by oversized children. That's the risk you take as CEO and face of the company.
Despite it all I stayed with Reddit because I felt it was providing a net positive to both my life and the world. But honestly, this latest move with the API is shameful and the straw that has broken the camel's back. I'm glad Aaron Swartz did not live to see what reddit has become. He would be horrified by this place and its actions. Steve Huffman clearly has no interest in anything but financial gain at this point. He would rather remove perceived competitors to marginally lessen his own costs and increase user numbers on their constabtly breaking phone app. And then actively lie about in an AMA to save face.
I dont consider reddit to be the front page of the internet anymore. Reddit has morphed into an anonymous Facebook. It's been a long time coming and the introduction of the chat feature sealed that comparison for me.

I’m playing the most recent episode of Gladiator Chronicles, S3 E4. I’m very definitely on the Path of Mercy with 54 mercy and 7 cruelty points. Yet, the game thinks I’m on the Path of Cruelty, and it’s giving me a point value locked choice that costs 50 cruelty which I obviously can’t take with 7 points.
According to the walkthrough, this shouldn’t happen, but I thought… “ok, maybe once I get past this, a Mercy choice will come next which I can obviously take.” Nope! It just goes right into the Agility/Strength point check.
Did this happen to anyone else? Is this a known issue or am I just unlucky? Or is this some intentional trickery because I’m meant to fail the trials??

Like many people with ADHD, as a child I was forced to take an active role in learning how to be socially adept, how to read people, how to connect easier, how to understand and respect others' boundaries/comfort/space.
I have a ton of electronics repair experience, I've worked at many cell phone repair places, and I just got a job as a manager of a new location in a small business. Because it's a fairly new company, for the next few months it's looking like I will be doing very few repair jobs, and instead I'm the sole person responsible for making sales at this location, selling unlocked phones and phone plans.
This is a fantastic opportunity for me. I've never had a managerial job before, but I felt confident that I knew the industry enough to navigate the responsibilities of the job. HOWEVER, my personality and heavily-prided social skills are all geared towards allowing people their own space, allowing people to be in control of the flow of conversations, allowing people to make their own decisions and to have patience when I might have an answer or sentence queued up while someone is thinking.
So far, I feel like an absolute failure in the sales industry. I am doing my best to learn the tactics, learn how to smoothly upsell, how to find options that benefit both customers and company. I don't even feel scummy with the concept of sales, as the owner of the company/person who hired me, is authentically a non-scammy person who is just trying to maintain a healthy business and grow as much as possible.
Yet, no matter what I try, even when I'm anticipating that I might lock up in a sales pitch when a person balks, even when I prepare myself to be pushy or convincing or whatever, I simply can't keep my wits about me. I give up the chase too quickly, I wuss out of upselling or adding accessories, I continue to try and cut deals or make allowances *when they're honestly not needed*.
This job is a great opportunity, even if I don't stick with it, the longer that I can show that I worked as a manager on my resume, the more opportunities I have going forward. I have talked with the owner about how I used to feel bad about sales because I feel like I'm digging for customer's money, but he worked with me to change my perspective, and see it in a new light: If a customer is better off, if they have the means, then it's simply smart to give them greater options. If a customer has a tight wallet, it's okay to cut deals or even outright sell products below cost, where we're losing money in order to help a customer out.
Does anyone have insight or advice on how I can fight my social nature and improve in this way? I can't stand the idea that I lose out on future repair opportunities, future managerial opportunities, not to mention the income, all because I couldn't do sales.
